Happy Morning! No chores today, and we are just hanging out on the porch with Mom, waiting out the light rain.
Spence must be super busy these days, that he doesn’t write anything on this here blog. But we checked out those NYT photos, and we like them all. Funny thing is we always think Mom looks better in photos with us guys too.
Yesterday, we got busy cutting grass that was finally dry enough, before it started raining again. Then we got locked in jail while the ‘rents went out for sushi and Thai food. When they got home, we got caught up on Burn Notice. What a great season!
On phones: last year we finally switched from our little cell ohone company with great customer service but little to no cell reception, to the Big company of 3 letters. While before, we couldn’t take or place cell phone calls inside our house, now our phones work everywhere. And we did keep the same numbers.

Gooood morning, everyone! We are spinning and twirling and dancing since mom and the Daddy Dawg got in at midnight last night safe and sound. We don’t know why they are soooo tired, we waited up for them and then held them in bed so they could sleep.
We know they will tell us travel stories, but we’ll pretend to listen while napping.
In honor of Mattie, we suggest a “waltzing Wednesday”.
9:21 am on July 3rd, 2013
Hi HOH! Waltzing Wednesday it is. We are so happy that your mom and Daddy Dawg made it home safe and sound.
That Sassy on the right sure looks like a happy girl. She is making Dima swoon.
9:41 am on July 3rd, 2013
Grump!…What a bunch of weird looking characters…sniff!…My favorite was #4, the old guy….heh!
9:53 am on July 3rd, 2013
Rio, you only say that because (the weird part) because not everyone can look like you!
10:12 am on July 3rd, 2013
Happy Day, everyone!
10:13 am on July 3rd, 2013
According to the article, most of the dogs pictured were rescued from shelters.
Good morning all.
10:20 am on July 3rd, 2013
Good morning all. The Blessings book that Barb just read had a Boxer pup named Zuzu in it. That is from It’s a Wonderful Life -Zuzu’s petals.
Did you notice how many of the people in those shots had lots of tats?
Have a little grass cutting on the schedule, then off to buy more bird seed. Wonderfluffing for Barb later this afternoon.
10:29 am on July 3rd, 2013
Does anyone else find the Prius jingle, featuring the little kids voices, to be addictive?
Remember when we were discussing the over-use of the word “so” when starting a sentence? Yesterday we saw a doctor being interviewed on tv. She started every single answer with so. Barb actually yelled at the screen “If you say so again, I am going to reach thru the screen and strangle you!!’
10:35 am on July 3rd, 2013
Morning all. Welcome home to Sharon and Daddy Dawg – glad it was a safe trip.
Another hot, sticky day here. And the good news? We supposed to start a “heat wave” tomorrow. wilt….
Rio – not all dogs can be as classically handsome as your curly-tailed self. Be kind to those less fortunate. We’re sure that WE always are.
tee hee.
10:37 am on July 3rd, 2013
Naggie: The Prof has noticed the over-use of the word “so” as well. It really, really annoys him.
Good Day All!
10:40 am on July 3rd, 2013
Good morning fellow Plunderers. Today is the last workday before the 4 day holiday weekend. WoooHooo!
Mom’s wonderfluffing appointment is not until until nest Tuesday. It cannot come too soon.
Sassy looks like she is laughing at something Chet said.
Much kooler this morning, but the day will heat up soon enough.
HOH: Welcome home to Mama & Daddie Dawg.
10:41 am on July 3rd, 2013
Hey, anyone who has been HOT, this will get your goat (metaphorically). Mom said whenthey left Michiana yesterday at 9 am, it was rainy, windy and 53*F. Her goose-bumps had goose-bumps. By Bowling Green, KY, it was a muggy 83*. A roller coaster
of a weather day.
11:00 am on July 3rd, 2013
Maggie, I apologize for my faux paw. You are definitely not Naggie!!
HRH B: Have you noticed today’s Google Doodle is celebrating Franz Kafka’s 130th birthday?
11:09 am on July 3rd, 2013
Encouraging News on the cell phone front number-wise.
We have found it is very taxing on the phone to keep “sSearching for Service”. Ours has been crackling and over-heating. Gah. The phone is only a year old and ready to Give up the Ghost.
Wose: Naggie! Chortle.
Rebecca must be in Communicado at the Top of the World. Wonder what the temperature is up there and will she be having some of that Favorite Delicacy…Mousehead Stew.
Yesterday we saw a Dark Ale for sale called Moose Drool.
11:24 am on July 3rd, 2013
Barb. Go for it!
It appears to be stopping now, but we have had lots and lots of rain here every day for the past few days and the forecast is for more of the same going forward. Anyone remember those instructions for building an ark? Just asking . . .
11:48 am on July 3rd, 2013
Barb – I love the Prius jingle but didn’t notice it was addictive – until now. Thank you very much. “A Prius for everyone.”
12:22 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Hey! I have a Prius, and I don’t even know that jingle. 🙁
12:23 pm on July 3rd, 2013
We here will trade anyone for some rain. Mom is taking Breena to the doctor in Fresno. It is supposed to be 108, which is probably better than 112. We get to stay home in the air conditioning. I think we are the only one with any brains.
12:25 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Wookie’s Dad: Right, what’s a cubit?
12:29 pm on July 3rd, 2013
The Prius commercial makes you want to run right out and buy one.
So cute in a size for everyone.
Wookie’s Dad: Our Fourth of July holidays are usually a bummer as well. I remember one year being up bundled in winter jackets atop the Space Needle watching the fireworks and freezing our patooties off.
12:32 pm on July 3rd, 2013
bundled up. gah.
Where’s our Empress-Queen B this morning?
12:39 pm on July 3rd, 2013
HOH – Mama loves that Cosby routine. “Have you looked in the bottom of that ark? Who’s gonna clean up that mess?”
Still makes us laugh after all these years.
Bet if someone used the word “read” as a noun, Prof Bee would show up fast. It won’t be us – we aren’t that brave.
12:39 pm on July 3rd, 2013
BSD: Gah! We just read the Moose Drool ale. How ’bout if we try a desert ale and call it “Serpent Saliva”?
12:43 pm on July 3rd, 2013
T&G: Tell your mama that our silly mom always answers “Do you have any questions?” with, “Why is there Air?” Glad to find someone else who might get it.
1:02 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Characters!
That’s what those people and their dogs are. I like the dog named Shush.
Rose: I thought I must be reading every other word because I couldn’t figure out who Naggie was. When I finally “got it” I laughed because Barb had just been nagging on the television person. Perfect timing.
BSD: Mouse-head stew? Yuck! Possibly even worse than moose-head stew.
Another perfect weather day here. I’m loving it while I can.
1:04 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Moose Drool? May have to try it!
Wose, Are you trying to tell us something? So sometimes we do carry on a bit over little stuff.
1:12 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Barband Maggie, Please accept my humble apology. You are never “naggy” on this here blog. In fact, you often recommend the best books for me to read.
I’m sorry. :^(
1:31 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Wow! Mom was right, a waltzing Wednesday. So far we have danced to: 1)Test of weather radio 2) TVA test of sirens @ nuclear plants 3)Flash flood warnings for low areas. Quite a day here, waltzing and singing with mom.
1:31 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Rose, We were just giving you a hard time. We are not seriously offended. We thought it was funny.
1:36 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Dawson: That slip of the iPaw came out pretty Gnarly. Yuck is right!
Wose: Barband? Your paws are having a rough time of it on the keyboard this morning. snicker.
1:47 pm on July 3rd, 2013
More Bill fans! I was singing the ice cream song to YSAS after surgery. He was not impressed.
It was only when I got to the Lumber store when I remembered that being July 3rd meant that every “guy” in the world would be buying lumber for their projects.
At the groucery store I found their wives. Sigh.
Finally got home. It’s Mac’s and Ros’s birthday! Everyone is going as a pack to the river, then to the pool and then . . Hamburger for dinner!
I made a label for OTAS for the pretend beer Newf Drool Ale. I’ll have to find that later.
Thanks, HOH for the shot out to Mattie. At the river we will be keeping her on a long lead.
1:49 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Thank you Rose. I hadn’t noticed the Google doodle. It was always fun teaching Kafka’s Metamorphosis. The doodle is perfect…and a bit creepy with the insect legs on the letters. Kafka always laughed out loud when reading his works to friends. His writing is “comedy” in a sense. I’ve always considered him one of the first Absurdist writers.
“As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic insect” (Kafka, “The Metamorphosis”).
1:49 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Moose Drool? Sounds good to us!
1:55 pm on July 3rd, 2013
I would try the Moose Drool Ale, but it is one of those Dark Brews which we find require a certain taste to enjoy. The name says it all.
Leavenworth, a little German community east of the mountains is a good place to taste-test. Many different kinds of beers can be sampled.
Melanie: Newf Drool? Purrfect!
1:59 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Bee – that first line in Metamorphosis haunted us for many years after first reading it in high school.
Ahem – an announcement from the Royal family. It was on this date in the year 2007 that Her Royal Highness Tuppence of Pembroke joined this household. She has given us so much love and delight for the past six years. Here’s to many more.
Coincidentally, we will be going out for dinner tonight – not a celebration, but because we have a coupon. We are being extraordinarily brave and taking Gramp out for his first ever sushi. We have promised him that there are many cooked types of sushi and that he will not be required to eat raw fish, now will he be forced to use chopsticks. This ought to be “fun”.
2:01 pm on July 3rd, 2013
“Nor”??? Now the ipaw is autocorrecting NOR into now? What the hey?
2:01 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Weird!…The weird looking ones in the photos are the humans, not the other guys…snort!
2:02 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Bear, Typing is not one of my stronger suits. To this day, I am still a two-fingered typist.
HRH B: I thought you might appreciate that. I had to read The Metamorphosis when I went back to college.
I curtsy to you, Empress B.
2:17 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Tupper’s Mom: Why did Metamorphosis haunt you? (Thinking about it, high school is a bit early to read Kafka. I taught it in a junior/senior seminar.)
Rose: What is you opinion of the story?
2:25 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Rio, nice to get your wide awake imput!
HRH B: Mom always thinks Kafka to the written word as Dali` to the eye.
2:28 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Here’s a line I’ve always loved from another Absurdist writer:
“…gazing up at the dark sky spangled with its signs and stars, for the first time, the first, I laid my heart open to the tender indifference of the universe” (Albert Camus, The Stranger).
In the translation that we used in class, the word “benign” was used instead of “tender.” However, the original French word used was “tendre” so I always insisted that my students cross out “benign” and write in “tender.”
2:29 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Sharon: Excellent comparison!
2:32 pm on July 3rd, 2013
On Facebook auto-correct changed “please” to “poop.” The next comment by the same writer he asked how in “HECK” that happened. It made my day.
2:52 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Melanie – Now that is the way to spend the 4th. A pool party and someone else cooks the hamburgers. Love it! Happy Birthday to Mac & Ros. A virtual cake will be blurring towards them to go along with those burgers.
2:52 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Has anyone read “Merle’s Door” by Ted Kerosote? It was recommended to us.
3:00 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Wookies-Maw!…Did I just read that you are having a pool party and you will be cooking burgers for everyone??…snort!snort!…If we can get the Beaus-mobile out of hock, Beau and I will be there!…Wooooo!
3:11 pm on July 3rd, 2013
I love Melanie’s comment about every guy in the world and their wives.
3:31 pm on July 3rd, 2013

My Dear Niece Kat – here’s the jingle about your Prius.

3:45 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Newf Drool Ale, fresh from the newf spigot!
3:47 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Barb — I have Merle’s Door but haven’t read it yet. However, what I have read and would highly recommend is his later book called “Pukka’s Promise: The Quest for Longer-Lived Dogs.” As you can imagine, it is a subject near and dear to the hearts of everyone on this here blog. It’s a truly outstanding, thoughtful, and well researched book. Pukka, by the way, is the dog that Ted got after Merle died. While I haven’t read Merle’s Door yet, it is highly recommended and I would certainly expect it to be as good as Pukka’s Promise.
4:22 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Good Grief Sam I Am is MIA.
He was Here for Breakfast, but Absent for Lunch.
This is Not good. Not good at all.
4:31 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Can’t help find Sam I am. BUT
if a member of the nation within is missing, we can send pawsitive thoughts
4:48 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Bee – we blame the haunting effects of Kafka on a teacher who was truly brilliant on her own right, but an absolute dud as a teacher. She didn’t explain absurdist writing or Kafka or prepare us in any way. It was the start of the semester when in the previous term we had been studying Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Madam Bovary, Silas Marner etc. Heavy on the symbolism stuff. Geez, was that teacher heavy on the symbolism stuff. But to go from Victorian romance and lace, to a giant bug….
BSD – is Sam I Am one of the critters being watched over by your mom?
5:11 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Royal Mum: All is Well. Sam has mysteriously reappeared.
Dog Knows where he was. Someone Here searched EVERYWHERE.
Whew. When one is watching the house of another you DO NOT want plants to wither on the vine and Grrrr Animals to disappear.
5:15 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Who, me?
5:16 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Oh no, Sam I am is missing?
Barb just got back from wonderfluffing and trip to the library. We now have Merle’s Door in our possession. Will try Pukka’s Promise next. Thanks Wookie’s Dad.
Barb is so easily influenced by members of this here blog. Guess what else she brought home. You got it, a bottle of Moose Drool beer, produced by The Big Sky Brewing Co. She said she did not see any Newf Drool on the shelf.
5:17 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Thank Dog you found him – or he found you. Seems he reappeared while I was typing.
5:19 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Yeep! Oh, how I’ve missed all youse on this here blog. I am at the second to last stop on my flight home.
5:20 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Barb&Magpie: Moose Drool! Let us know how you like it.
Brave One you are.
Melanie: Forgot to wish Mac & Ros a Woofy Birthday. ArroooAroooo.
Get that Newf Drool bottled. There’s a market out there!
5:21 pm on July 3rd, 2013
If Sam I Am is anything like me—his felineness aside—he knew where he was the entire time.
5:22 pm on July 3rd, 2013
SnowBella: Hurray for your Return Trip!
5:24 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Whitey: He claims he was on a walk-a-bout…aka a Whitey-Lance.
5:37 pm on July 3rd, 2013
BSD, Not so brave. She only bought one bottle, not a whold 6-pack. The clerk said it is a good brown ale, but we didn’t want to spend an whole $8.50 without a test bottle first. Will chill it and try it tomorrow for 4th of July.
5:46 pm on July 3rd, 2013
BSD – sheesh – humans get so worked up over our ability to appear and disappear at will. Basil is the master of that art. Can’t tell you how many times Mama has walked around the house shaking his favorite bell ball and calling him, only to give up, and have him walk out of thin air.
Bella – we missed you too. Get home safe and sound.
Youse guys would fall over laughing if you saw Mama. She has been wonderfluffed to within an inch of her life. But her groomer was NOT amused at the red color. There was a long lecture about chemicals and interactions and “bleeding off” (ick) ect. Mama had to promise not to do it again.
But right now she looks kind of like a rusty red dandelion that has gone to seed.
5:46 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Oops! Barb emailed a non-blog friend and told her she was getting wonderfluffed this afternoon. She responded awhile ago and said “What in the heck is wonderfluff?”
5:47 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Oh great – Mama says we don’t get a kitty bag of leftovers from the sushi place, just cuz we laughed at her hair.
Well, who wouldn’t for Kat’s sake?
5:51 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Rebecca: Yipeee! You are coming home.
HRH, B : I don’t remember a lot about the story, but since I went back to college, I did appreciate it. Lots of symbolism. I like that in books.
5:55 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Good Afternoon Everyone!!
Barb, Mom has the same problems when emailing non-blog friends.
She spells kat wrong and doesn’t always remember to use my other name. Spence must have the same problem since he uses two names also.
We also have Merle’s Door on the shelf, but have never read it.
6:07 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Aunt MPM, Thank you for the Prius jingle. I love it! And I love my Prius that took me all the way to western Mass to meet youse guys.
Bella, glad you are on the way home from the top of the world.
Momma got her nails clipped today. She was a good girl, and did not need a muzzle or drugs.
Tomorrow we celebrate that I am 2 !
6:20 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Tupper’s Mom: I’m impressed with that reading list especially since it was high school. To understand “Absurdism” one has to understand the impact of World War I. (Metamorphosis was written in 1915.) The world went from Victorian confidence to “The Lost Generation” in four years.
7:04 pm on July 3rd, 2013
I am working on Puka’s Promise. Working on it, because every time I start reading I fall asleep.
The Birthday Cake Dinner was a favorite. Everyone got a small one.
SnowBella, I’m happy you are on the way home. I imagine your entire Pack has been saving up all the times when they missed Tummies from you and want them all at once.
I am now going to put a Hibachi together. We had to give away the grill when The Raven thought he could still cook. That’s a story for another day.
Tomorrow? Grilled steak!

7:44 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Staff!! We received the package today! We love the tan and red colors on the front and the sled dogs on the paper. Thank you Staff, Dawson, and Turtleman for your generous, creative donation to the Snowhook store.
8:22 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Siber – Glad to have you back! Sounds like you and Redbone had a good time in the mountains last night. Did Natasha join you? We all know what an outdoors/camping kind of gal she is.
Bee – the school system where Mama went was very strong in the literature part. She “escaped” the English teacher that taught Moby Dick for one month of every semester, but read many of the other classics, either in class or on her own. The grammar side of the English department – well, that might be a story for another day. We will just say that Mama has no clue about how to diagram a sentence. She knows noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb – but other things like prepositions are Greek to her – how that could be in an English class , we don’t understand, but then again, there are many things about humans that we find weird.
And by the way – they came home from Gramp’s Sushi Night with nary a California Roll in sight. Is that fair?
8:32 pm on July 3rd, 2013
All this talk of Plunderer Treasure at the Boutique.
We missed out on something BIG.
Gramp enjoyed the Sushi.
Siber-H & SnowBella (soon to be) are Home!
8:52 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Dusting off soap box. Place on floor. Crawl up it. (I’m tired)
This rant is about service.
First: The person at the craft store register was surprised when I noticed that one of the items I was buying rang up as the normal price and not the sale price. When I mentioned it? She whined, “Well, now I have to void the whole sale and then check the price, and on and on.”
I said, “You want me to let this go because you don’t want to take the time? I have to pay full price because you can’t be bothered?”
The manager heard that and fixed it.
Second: I was paying the bills by the intertubes, and I noticed that one of them did not show a payment that I had made on June 14th. It was due July 1st. I paid it again. I should have called first. They just hadn’t updated the amounts paid, and I didn’t owe anything. I have now changed that due date to all the others I have due that day so THAT won’t happen again.
Third: I am getting the Hibachi grill out of the box. It is broken in TWO places. I called the company (it’s a good company), told them what happened. They are replacing it. Not in time for tomorrow’s steak. I “AJ rigged” it together. I think we will get one meal out of it.
Using the cane, I trip off the soap box, and put the box away for the next Plunderer.
8:53 pm on July 3rd, 2013
We are glad to hear the Gramps had a good time on the Sushi night out.
Barb is one of those unusual humans that loved to diagram sentences.
Most of our neighbors are nice, but the ones on the west side are the neighbors from hell. I barked at this kid who chased his soccer ball all the way up to our fence, maybe for 30 to 40 seconds. The neighbor opened her sliding patio screen and glared at Barb, then slammed her screen door closed. What the…? She brought me in right away, but how do you handle neighbors like this? Would it make things worse if Barb called her the b word?
8:54 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Reports coming in say that my Lady is tired. Exhausted. Pooped. AJ is going into town to meet her halfway home. It will allow them to see each other sooner and he can follow her home. I bet someone sleeps well tonight. Me?—I sleep well every night.
Kat: Two! What a great age. There is nothing like it, or so I’m told.
9:00 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Tupper!…”…rusty red dandelion that has gone to seed”…snort!…Now that is a chorkel-vision!…heh!heh!

Rebecca!….Yippee!…She is almost home! – or maybe she is home by now…sniff!….I have been following her brother all over today, so I don’t know what time it is actually…heh!…He is here fixing the old sprinkler system. Soon every part will have been replaced by that guy. He comes out every Fourth of July and spends the night. Tomorrow they will grill up some steaks for the big day of celebration…Woooooo!Hoooo!….
9:06 pm on July 3rd, 2013
It’s difficult Not to use Plunderer Words elsewhere.
OMD…Carpola…Gah. People look at you like you’re from Another Planet.
9:07 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Congrats to Tupper on your anniversary day!
Give your mama a glass of wine and tell her to chill.
Maggie, tell Barb that the next time that kid chases a ball near your fence, she should open the door and glare at that lady and then slam the door.
Rio, Heh!
9:07 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Herbs, Natasha stayed in a little motel, watching tv, with her Porsche parked right outside the front door.
Redbone and I had a great time. He is really a good old boy. We wish Miss Macy could have joined us.
9:10 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Barb!…Bad, bad, bad…sniff!…ONE lousy bottle of beer for the Fourth of July?…grunt!…Unheard of. Not in these parts anyways…heh!heh!…I have at least 2 or 3 bowls of beer all by myself..chuffle!
9:11 pm on July 3rd, 2013
This is not me, but I thought some of you could relate.
9:12 pm on July 3rd, 2013
SiberH!…You are back!…snort!snort!….Are you watching the game? Looks like our team is taking revenge on those Dodgers…chuffle!…4 ta 1 right now and it is only the bottom of the 3rd…wooohooooo!

Rio, Let us clarify. We have one bottle of this new Moose Drool. We also have Blue Moon, and bourbon and wine. We will be fine.
9:16 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Whitey-Lance: I am sure there are many at the kennel waiting for tummy rubs from their Lady.
9:18 pm on July 3rd, 2013
RIO! What time should I be there? I like my steak medium-rare.
9:21 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Rio: I don’t know what time it is either and I haven’t been following anyone’s brother around all day.
Macy: Tenzing plans on doing both options tomorrow night. He says it is best to have options.
Uh-oh. I think Belle Starr is taking to bedazzling the soapbox.
9:26 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Wose, Kat is not a big girl until I say she is a big girl. I am not saying any such thing. I am still the mama and she is still the babe.
9:28 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Macy, That cartoon is funny, but true.
Rio, Aye, Aye, I am watching the game. Last night’s game was a bummer.
9:29 pm on July 3rd, 2013
Toolbox!…Beau was fascinated with her brothers toolbox…heh!…He had to sniff every tool at least twice. Her mother and her brother both told him, “Don’t you dare pee in that toolbox.”…snort!…As far as I can tell he never did. Yet…guffaw!
9:30 pm on July 3rd, 2013
SiberH!…How the heck did the Rockies lose their lead so quickly…grump!
9:43 pm on July 3rd, 2013

Well, we were having fun tonight. Then another so-called isolated thunder storm roller in, and we all had to skedaddle indoors. Indoors makes us sleepy, so nighty night, all.

Basil & Sage: we need pictures of your Mama. At least she should look extra patriotic for the 4th with the red hair.
Bee: I had Honors English in high school and hated every book read (and I was a heavy recreational reader). Dissecting every sentence/paragraph and seeking deep meanings and symbolism wasn’t my thing. I didn’t get Kafka at all. It is a miracle that I became a librarian.
Due to the heavy fire danger, there were no fireworks sold this year. So maybe Sade and I will get through midnight without problems.
Spent day with 2 relatives from KY who caught me up on the news. An aunt by marriage shot herself 5x but the hospital says that a couple of shots couldn’t have been made by her and were reluctant to release her home. Black sheep uncle not saying anything to family (“it’s none of our business). Geez. I always feel like I am in a field of land mines when I visit KY relatives. Between the feuds, grudges and Southern politeness and hospitality, I end up totally confused.

Barb: no, she takes care of an elderly man and was at his place when shot. Uncle is often with her while she is taking care of her charge but no one knows what happened, just very strange. Tiny town and no one saying anything.

Macy, before we go, let me say that I will be one of those in the tub. I will not dig my way out, I will simply stay there till the booms are over.
