Good Idea? Y/N?

“Here’s something that seems to be happening,” Spence says. “Some companies are allowing employees to take their dogs to work. What do we think about that?”

Huh? Well, of course. I go to work with Bernie all the time. We’re a team, if I haven’t mentioned that already.

Good morning all. Breezy, turning to 40 mph winds later. Reaching 97 degrees this afternoon, so we will be outside early.

I will NOT be joining Barb during her 16 hours at the CL place. Nuff said.

    Good Morning B&M!
    Greetings to all!

Still nice, comfortable temps here in Westchester, although the heat is on for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. GAH! Temps expected to be in the high 90’s.

I wish our company would let employees bring their dogs or kats to work. I find even being near four-leggeds makes me feel very mellow and happy. I vote yes!!!!

    Howdy Rose and Barb&MagPie!

In our hills here we are having our summer weird mornings. We are in the low 50’s with 100% humidity. Yup we are in a low cloud. The sun will be shining in the next few hours. Yesterday was beautiful after the clouds lifted.

Our go to guy, Jesse, has hurt his back! Oh, no! I wonder if I can run the mower without my allergies going into full alert.

I vote for taking ALL your dogs to work. Just think how happy all of the Snowhook pack would be! OleyHowlers would be howling in joy! And our Newf Pack would be taking over. Not that they haven’t already. .

Melanie. Ms. Patsy is up top on Chet’s Friends, looking terrific.

I know if my dad could take me into the busy place, I would have that place in tip top shape in no time. If I can supervise a wayward group of quilters, I can handle any challenge.

    Good morning everyone.’

I would love to go to work with my girl. She works in Wegmans supermarket IN THE MEAT DEPT. Wowie! Yesterday she made burgers with mushrooms and Swiss cheese in them. Then she hands out samples. I could be a big help with that.

Wöökie, Dog that Patsy is busy. She got back here in no time and demanded my breakfast.

Rosalyn is eating normally again. She is also making up all the days she missed eating. Last night I gave her cheese and kibble at 8:30 pm and she had Zoë up twice in the night for cheese sandwiches!

Princess Sam, I believe a certain pug is jealous of your girl’s job. Taking a pug to work where people are fixing hamburger? Whoa, a disaster in the making!

We think our guys should be allowed everywhere, but still aren’t interested in hanging with Mom or Pop at their computers. Kat thinks she went to work with Mom lots of times, because she carpooled with her on workdays. She doesn’t understand that when Mom dropped her off at camp, Mom had to drive over to her boring office computer, rather than playing at that camp.

We are happy to hear good news about Ros.

Now if Barb worked at the meat market, I would be happy to assist. That would be much more fun than a real estate office. I could make sure the burgers were perfectly rounded.

Barb has to go out and get the lawn done before temps hit the 90s.
Definitely see an afternoon of reading and snoozing in the a.c.

My employer is dog friendly. In fact we include that as part of our interview process. I think we had four dogs in the office one day; only one was from Snowhook. Tenzing makes me very poplar at work when he comes with me.

AJ and I worked until 1 am on the floor and have most of the new flooring installed. Yawn.

Yesterday was a beautiful day and then the sky turned dark. Along with the down pour we had thunder and lightening which is a rare occurrence in Alaska.

Rebecca, A root canal just before leaving on a plane trip? Yikes. Make sure you get a prescription just in case you need antibiotics or pain pills on your trip. If you have it and don’t need it, fine. If you need it and don’t have it. Bad.

I get to have a procedure today. I hate them damn procedures. (Sorry B) It is a biopsy of the new kidney to make sure it is doing OK. My creatinine level has been creeping up. Hopefully it is just a matter of drinking more water and thus making it behave. I have to wait until later in the afternoon. The procedure isn’t scheduled until 4 pm. Gives me time to brood.

I’m a tad tired with everything that is going on here. shhhhh Do NOT tell Zoë but I woke up and was starting to take my morning medications when I realized that I had Patsy’s in my hand. That would NOT have been a good thing.

My sis came by after visiting Dan. He’s a bit confused on meetings and who’s in charge of what, but he’s doing okay.

I asked her if she needed any lettuce seedlings, but she said no. So I asked if her chickens might want them and we thinned the lettuce gutter.

Her chickens had stopped laying and she went to her chicken guru to find out why. He asked if she had changed anything and she said yes, she was leaving their coop door open now. He said to close it. They were scared.

She did, and now she is having eggs for breakfast once more.

Oley, Wre plant our onions close todather, like every 2 inches. Then we pull them as we want for green onions, creating more space between. You can still pull them for slicing onions when they get bigger and the tops are green. If you want to keep them as dry onions, then wait for the tops to dry and bend over. If the ground is dry, they can stay in there for awhile, but they won’t keep growing after the top drys up.

Potatoes – ours went about 3 months from planting to digging. They should bloom first, then the plant part will start to die. You can wait till the plant totally dies, or you can dig earlier for smaller potatoes. Or you can carefully dig and just pull a few early ones out too.

  59. OleyHowlers
    7:41 pm on June 18th, 2012

Thanks, Barb. We planted them 3 months ago so we could start digging up a couple and see how they look. We do want the onions for slicing, but what do you mean by dry onions?

  60. Gus & BooBear
    7:42 pm on June 18th, 2012

Like the stall door painting too, but am drawing a blank with a name. Maybe “Time for RollCall” ? We keep thinking that the halter could also be a sad picture, something about having the halter still in memory of horse no longer with you. “Always in the Heart” maybe??

  62. Barb & Maggie
    7:51 pm on June 18th, 2012

I love the names, Rio. Perfect choices!

Oley, When you first planted the little sets and they start growing, those can be pulled as scallions. They will look like the little green salad onions from the store. Then when they get bigger you can pull them for slicing, for hamburgers, etc.

By later summer they will complete their growth process and the top will die back and turn brown. Those are the onions you buy in a bag and can keep for months. After you dig them, let them hang and air dry for a few days. Yellow and white keep longer than red onions.

But we love the elk video – there are truly some dumb people out there, thinking elk are tame…
And we love the paintings. Our first thought when we saw the stall door was “Houdini” – the chain on the latch. We have known horses that needed that little “encouragement” to stay in.
And we are doing prayers at 9 tonight for Staff and Rebecca, just in our ownbackyard, not on the blog, but everyone can join in where ever they are.
And after that, we may be back.

Terry: It seems like the tech places are more into the casual approach to business. If the employees are relaxed and happy everyone benefits. That includes two-leggeds and four.
Rio: No way can I top you and Rebecca with your Gnome Alone and No Gnome Left Behind. Chuckle.
