Gone Fishin’ (2)
“Catch anything?” says Spence.
“Yes, sir,” says Admin. “A yellowfin tuna, seared and blackened, with a side of a carrot and almond thing that was delicious.”
Welcome Popcorn, a confessed biter. Here’s Popcorn:

Spence – we’ll take a slice of that tuna. Yum.
Good morning everyone

Holy Carp, that bird scared the $h!take out of me
Good morning all.
10:02 am on January 22nd, 2014
Hey Macy!
We used to know a Malucan named Jericho. He was a silly, cuddly bird. If you said “Jericho’s a chicken” he would respond ‘bwack, bwack, bwack”.
10:03 am on January 22nd, 2014
No wonder Chet doesn’t like birds! Beautiful color, but scary beak for sure. He looks like he is ready to take a big bite out of me!
Tuna sounds wonderful. Seared and served rare.
Wonder how Melanie is doing this morning.
10:08 am on January 22nd, 2014
There is far too much bird in that picture.
Good morning all.
10:32 am on January 22nd, 2014
What is on the backsplash? Are those chickens on the tiles?
Like those cabinets too.
10:32 am on January 22nd, 2014
I agree with B. Too much bird, too close, too beaky.
However, in it’s favor it does look like it was tie-dyed or else it is Easter egg dye. lovely colors.
Good eye DianeC to notice the multiple pugs. That pugs always notices when Abbie, Alice or Staff goof up. Always. sniff. Makes staff feel silly. That is pretty easy to do.
And because Staff didn’t put up a picture for the two donations promised for the booty fund here is one now.

sled kats…heh heh heh. Eat it Rio!
10:41 am on January 22nd, 2014
Here is an brand new Olympic athlete to cheer for. She is a good buddy of my niece’s sister. (That would be Scout’s Mom) My sister, A Catty Librarian, put up this link on her Facebookie page with these words. “She’s come a long way since making duct tape wallets with Katie in our living room.” Maggie Voisin of Whitefish MT. Go Maggie!

BTW, Rick’s mom was beautiful, both as a young woman and a more mature one.
Staff, Barb finally mailed off her second check yesterday for the booty fund.
11:06 am on January 22nd, 2014
Congrats to Maggie from another Maggie. What exactly is slope style skiing?
11:35 am on January 22nd, 2014
Is the blog working? Where is everyone?
11:56 am on January 22nd, 2014
Greetings!
Macy’s Mom: Rick’s mom was absolutely gorgeous!
CHobbit: Rats! That really sucks about your MRI.
Teddy RR: thank for saying such a nice thing about me last night. Did you have fun in the white stuff? How is your girl, Zeta?
(whispering) are you getting enough to eat? how ’bout snacks? I know you are a very big boy now.
11:57 am on January 22nd, 2014
I am also in a bad mood today.
Just lurking today.
12:10 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Wose, hope your mood gets better. And Hobbit, that is a bummer about your MRI.
Barb is leaving to get wonderfluffed in a few minutes then Arlene will be here when she gets back, so will be off the blog for a couple of hours.
12:23 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Barb – we know everything will go well with Arlene, but we will still keep paws crossed.
The “big snowstorm” here never happened. Just enough snow to track a cat as our Gramp likes to say.
The Storyteller will be staying at “club med” for another day or so. We think he just likes the food. tee hee
12:28 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Amalia, Did they find a blood clot? I looked up embolism on the net, and it really sounded like his symptoms, with the pain in the chest and difficulty breathing. Could the clot be related to his surgery, or was that too long ago? It also said clots could form in the legs from being inactive, which most of us are when it is so cold outside. Unless you are the Hobbit or the Pixie.
12:29 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Barb and Maggie–I think it’s chickens too. Hope all goes well with Arlene.
12:32 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Wose–Here’s a little something that I hope will lighten your mood (it makes me laugh, but I think I’ve lost a lot of brain cells). Taken from a student test paper (not one of my students).

12:40 pm on January 22nd, 2014
HOH–I missed your earlier question. We had an exciting time at the vet and made an appointment for Conan to have his teeth cleaned. He’s also older than I was told–15 instead of 13, but still resisting his blood draw so manfully that he was put down, drawn, then awakened (something I thought impossible in a dog that age). While he was recovering he won many hearts, despite his teeth and breath (which will need attention).
Anyway, I think it was kind of a turning point, as he let me pick him up and now seems more relaxed and rompy.
12:49 pm on January 22nd, 2014
C.Hobbit–Just catching up on your MRI saga. I could try and sell you ion the idea that these trials are sent to us to make us stronger, but I think I know what you’d say to that. Maybe this concentrated period of frustration will cover you for the rest of the year…Meanwhile, I hope you get a wonderful result today.
I’m also wondering about Melanie…
12:54 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Mentioning embolisms makes me think: All you folks going North to Alaska be sure and get up and move around during the flight. We all want to get there, and back.
Mags, you be on your very best behavior. This lady dog will be a nice companion for you when Barb insists on going off and leaving you behind. We here have our paws crossed for you.
12:55 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Diane, you made us all shudder when you said “put down”…
12:57 pm on January 22nd, 2014
We should all be happy to be rompy at 105. How did you find out that Conan was 15? Did they count the rings on his teeth?
1:06 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Macy–I know–that was my initial reaction (they could have said “sedated”, after all, “put to sleep” would carry the same horrible implication) but the vet said they could reverse it and his heart was strong. I found out about the age when his aunt gave me her late sister’s vet’s name and website (and she had to dig to find it). I asked my vet to request whatever records they had, and that’s where his age was recorded. (I’m not sure he’d let you count the rings on his teeth.)
No, he sure doesn’t act his age. We sometimes play tug-of-war with a plush toy and when he gets it he shakes it fiercely (to break its neck, I presume). Still doesn’t try to jump on my bed, which I am sure is fine with Edgar and Pretty who already have enough to do sharing with one another. (Sorry–new mother syndrome…)
1:18 pm on January 22nd, 2014
That bird is scary. Too much chicken…gah
A picture of The Hot One that size would be most welcome.
Rio, My mom did not get the computer turned on for me as early as she should have this morning, but I found your SDD and replied.
1:23 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Birds!….So is Spencer going to post a Bucking Bronco next?…snort!
1:27 pm on January 22nd, 2014
It is colder than a witch’s you-know-whats here. Even us huskies are staying (mostly) indoors. But the snow is fun, when we do go out! Lots of drifts so you never know how deep your next step will be.
All youse retirees complaining about lack of time: what the heck!!!! Mom and Pop spend all their time at work or on their long drive to/from work. When they get home, they have to do their 2nd job of taking care of those horses and chickies, so that there is never enough time to play with us us us. Oh, and then there is all that on-call time too…
Ask and you shall receive…Cherokee and Meashka laughing it up at Pints for Pups:

1:27 pm on January 22nd, 2014
GO BRONCOS!!!
1:32 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Howlers, umm, Are you sure that is Meashka? Has she gotten into some dark red hair coloring product?
Nevertheless, the picture is far nicer than the giant chicken.
1:37 pm on January 22nd, 2014
SiberH!…You are messing up your lefts and rights again…snort!…Measka is on the Right side of the photo…heh!heh!
1:50 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Heh! Thanks Rio. (whispering) Siber-H is not the most technical husky on this here blog.
1:59 pm on January 22nd, 2014
I am not any good at left and right, but I am great at north, south, east, and west.
I thought Cherokee was colored like Dima and me. Meashka’s coloring looks so light in that picture, but that is her pretty face.
I think I will just start this day over again.
It’s the chicken, I tell you.
2:00 pm on January 22nd, 2014
HOH–They are gorgeous. Now, what are these “pints” of which you speak?
2:01 pm on January 22nd, 2014
My coloring changes from a nice brownish/red to almost white depending on the time of year, and how much of my undercoat is coming out.
Cherokee is a very deep, beautiful chestnut red.
I, myself, am partial to black and white husky boys.
2:08 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Diane, That was us, not HOH.
Cherokee is our friend, and our mom’s godmom. His mom is Kat’s godmom.
Now about Pints: that is one of the fundraisers held each year by our local Humane Society. All the two-leggers get nice pint glasses, and there are a bzillion microbrews who have stands there and give them tastings (the tastings become rather large toward the end of the evening). The Members of the Nation get our favorite drink of choice: water. As well as treats, and lots of fun meeting and greeting.
2:09 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Woops! We meant to say that Cherokee is Mom’s goddog.
2:13 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Barb is back home and Arlene is not here yet. The snow must be slowing her down. It stopped earlier and now has started again. Oops, her she is. Be back with report later.
2:16 pm on January 22nd, 2014
“Find the x” – tee hee, giggle giggle snort. That looks like it could have been one of Mama’s math papers. She hated math. Still does.
Those are some beautiful Huskies, those are.
So, the Storyteller is just now going for the CT scan. Poor thing- his chest muscles just hurt from the coughing. But they are taking very good care of him.
But they keep finding an out if order crash cart in his room.
2:29 pm on January 22nd, 2014
O’H–My apologies–and thanks for straightening out that “goddog/godmom” business. Cherokee doesn’t look as happy as Meashka–maybe not enough water?
2:30 pm on January 22nd, 2014
T and G–Poor Storyteller–can he ask for something to relax the cough muscles (maybe after his scan)?
2:58 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Yes, T&G. We have the same question as Diane. Can’t they settle that there cough down?
Anyone hear from Melanie today?
When will she hear from her doc.
We are hoping all is well with BooBear’s folks.
2:59 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Amalia, Do you have a current status on Melanie?
3:10 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Arlene has come and gone. She was very nice and she said we are approved. Yay!
3:17 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Maggie, did you get to meet Gucci?
3:26 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Howlers, No, they will bring her up, probably this weekend and as long as I don’t attack her and flatten her to the ground, they will turn her over to us. As if I would not like another dog! Besides, she is already almost flattened to the ground. Get it Corgis?
3:29 pm on January 22nd, 2014
yuck yuck. That is funny, Maggie!
p.s. Mom says not to play with Gucci the way Meashka plays with poor Kat.
3:34 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Maggie – HEY! Was that a short joke?
As to anti cough meds for the Storyteller, until they know what this is, they want him to cough, even though it hurts. Hopefully after the CT scan, we will have a better handle on this.
We have not heard from Melanie yet today – we told her we wouldn’t call her, but will wait until she feels up to calling us. This is tougher than waiting for a slim jim!
We saw this article, and thought it would be interesting. Until we got to the part about the Malamute. The author is an idiot.
http://shine.yahoo.com/pets/7-dog-breeds-born-snow-134000991.html
3:43 pm on January 22nd, 2014
T&G, Yes, that author is an idiot when he says Malamutes would be good in an Iditarod. They are freight trains…bred to compete in weight pulling. Not speed.
3:54 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Well, better late than never! Mom finally got home. Left at 9:30 a.m. and abandon us for hours 🙁 Did brunch with adopted son, scrabble competition of the month and “old fart discount” grocery day. Lucy has been home and sleeping soundly. Since the Storyteller will be there one more night, she wants to go back after dinner.
POP loves Popcorn’s color since they are all green. Looks like chickie tiles to them too.
Yeah Barb and Maggie! Way to go. Welcome to the new adopted sis this weekend. Mom’s godson is autistic and a dog savant. He says the basset is a dog with a bad leg life 🙂 Who says the autistic can’t grasp humor?
Truly a wacky Wednesesday.
3:56 pm on January 22nd, 2014
We just saw an article on line about 8 dogs bred for snow. Guess what, Poodles were not on the list!
T & G, Sorry, but I couldn’t resist the height challenged joke.
4:06 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Sorry, it was 7 dogs, not 8 and it was the same article that Tupper’s Mom just posted. Obviously we were just reading every other word. We missed the part about the Iditarod.
The only thing that bothers Barb about the Basset breed is that it is a man-made dwarf. Evidently back in the 1700s there was a litter born with the malformed legs. So they intentionally bred for this distorted leg shape, to create a low to the ground hound that would be easy for rabbit hunters to shoot over. Somehow the thought of breeding for a defect doesn’t sound like a good breeding program to Barb. That being said, they are still adorable.
4:28 pm on January 22nd, 2014
A friend of mine in California who has a Newf says that if you look at Victorian photos, the Newfs in the photos didn’t have the jowls and blocky faces. They have been bred that way and have changed the breed.
4:29 pm on January 22nd, 2014
See Barb, mom’s godson was right!
4:30 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Look at many of Edward Landseer’s paintings of newfs. Not as blockheaded.
4:36 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Hobbit and Barb, Landseer liked the white body but look at the head compared to today’s newf. This is a copy of ” A Member of the Aristocracy”.

4:39 pm on January 22nd, 2014
We think that all dogs are good dogs.
Short dogs are best.
4:40 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Can’t imagine keeping them clean! Look at modern newf head.

And jowls!
4:41 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Diane C: LOL! Thank you.
4:43 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Your godson is indeed right.
Barb doesn’t really have a problem with breeders breeding for certain characteristic thru a selective breeding program. What bugs her is when you breed to the point that an animal would not be able to survive on its own (i.e. English bull dogs and Boston Terriers not being able to deliver except by c section due to head size, or a chicken with such heavy feathering on its head that it can’t see where it is going).
4:50 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Ah, the Polish chicken 🙂 Mom’s brother had some once.
5:06 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Guess what, there was a picture of me, me, me up above! Don’t see that very often.
Yes, the Polish chickens. Can’t see predators, get picked on by the other chickens, run into trees. Poor things.
5:06 pm on January 22nd, 2014
B and M–Copngratulations! (Like there was ever any doubt…)
5:08 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Staff!…I like the Fern potholders the best…snort!….Just so you know. Don’t send me no vegetable ones…sniff!
5:10 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Tupper’s Mama–Short humans also quite special (if not appreciated as they should be).
HOH–thanks for the Landseer portrait–that really is an aristocrat.
B and M (and everyone)–For “copngratulations” please read “congratulations” (there go those brain cells).
5:19 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Good news: Sadie’s kidneys and liver are fine
Bad news: Her bladder is once again full of bacteria. Since we already did a round of regular antibiotics, this means that it is a resistant strain. So we are going to try a different expensive antibiotic for a longer period of time. Large pills twice a day. If that doesn’t do the trick, the vet will send off cultures to a lab to identify the specific bacteria.
I see my doctor in an hour to get my results. Sadie is already in the car waiting for me.
5:30 pm on January 22nd, 2014
So – there is qvestion about the boots of Vorld’s Most Glamorous Undercover Spy? Yes, Miss Rose, Natasha vill have the kinky boots for Iditarod. Is much easier veering leg varmers vhen boots come to top of leg.
However, this year, must buy shorter scarf. Vas very much trouble vith getting legs tangled in fringeys.
(Vill also have music of The Lauper on ipaw. Ve Bop, you Bop, he bop, she bop)
5:31 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Voops
5:41 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Staying near the Storyteller for one more night. Think I know the schedule so in the quite times will curl up near his feet, I do very gentle lovers 🙂 He needs to feel the love.
5:43 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Snort!….Voops indeed!…heh!heh!
5:55 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Voops indeed.
C.Hobbit–thinking of you AND Sadie.
5:59 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Hobbit, hope they finally can give you some information about your MRI this time. You have not been having the best of luck with these appointments lately. Certainly good that you are retired and have all that extra time like Barb does.
6:02 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Big Vooops!
RIO! The Hot-Shot hasn’t gone AWOL again, has he?
6:09 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Nattie, didn’t we have the discussion before about you messing with the avatars of others? hmmm?
6:23 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Mom is rolling on the floor laughing right now.
6:24 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Nattie, You little avatar thief you!
6:26 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Howlers, Barb is joining you down there. What is so funny I ask?
6:36 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Beats me, but Meashka is rolling around howling too.
6:39 pm on January 22nd, 2014
He, he, he, he, ha, ha, ha, ha, ho, ho, ho, chuckle, snort, gafaw! ROFL
6:48 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Hmmm….sounds like we missed a good joke.
Anyway – wanted to let you know that Melanie just called. She is very tired, and has spent the day sleeping. She says this is a normal reaction for her after a procedure, so no one is to worry. Tomorrow will be better, and the day after that will be even more better (as they say in Hawaii).
She is not in a lot of pain from the biopsy – what hurts is her arms and shoulders since she had to spend the operation time with her arms over her head. She was about to crawl back into bed, but asked us to say hi to everyone and thanks for all the good thoughts.
6:56 pm on January 22nd, 2014
T&G, Thank you bery much for the update on Melanie.
We have the world’s worst telephone company. We finally got them to give us a faster Internet speed, but they managed to disconnect our 2nd ring that we use for faxing (and we need to get a prescription faxed ASAP), as well as making our voicemail no longer retrievable. They keep telling us it is our problem. Poor Pop has to deal with this awful company for his job, and now he must do it here at home.
6:57 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Gah! Very much not bery.
Hobbit, were you able to get your MRI results?
7:10 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Thank you T & G. for the update.
7:24 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Here’s something else to make you laugh. The Norwegian Olympic Curling Team uniforms. Ta daaah!
http://www.cntraveler.com/daily-traveler/2014/01/photos-norway-curling-teams-pants
7:34 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Dawson! Wow! No wonder Norway has the happiest population of all countries. You have to be happy to wear that outfit.
Going to watch Captain Phillips now. Good night.
7:43 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Update of the day:
We’ve been sweating it out up here in Alaska. Today it’s 35 degrees out and getting ready to rain again. Status quo for the last week or so. While you can run dogs in this temperature it gets warm for them quick. So, we’ve been running where and when we can this last week.
None-the-less last night we cut up a ton of meat and packed up Phillip’s drop bags for the race this weekend. It’s a 300 miler that he needs to finish his qualifiers for Iditarod. While Phil is a capable driver it always makes me a little uneasy to watch the team leave without me. Now I know how Rebecca feels a little when I take off with the team.
On the positive side though I started on my Iditarod drop bags with a great package of jerky, twix bars and snickers. Though I did have to sample them and that has currently stopped the packing I expect it to resume in at least three bars.
Thank you all for your continued support of the team. They had a vet check today for the race and passed with flying colors. We couldn’t have done that without your help.
See you on the trail.
AJ
7:46 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Wooo hooooo for AJ and Sniockers and Twix Bars and Phillip the new dad and a special WOOO HOOO for the TEAM!

8:01 pm on January 22nd, 2014
What time does the race start this weekend? Hopefully we can track it.
O.K. Now it is movie time.
Thanks, AJ, for the update.
8:06 pm on January 22nd, 2014
AJ!…If you need extra fat I could send Beau on up there so he can go along with you on the Trail!…..Wooooo!
8:27 pm on January 22nd, 2014
AJ Thanks for the update. You and the dogs need better weather than what you are experiencing right now.
8:33 pm on January 22nd, 2014
The Norwegian curling pants…panache…pulchritude…puce…personality…puke?

8:49 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Hasn’t it been colder this year in Alaska? Not fair that it starts warming up now when practice is so important and the race is looming close!! We love reading AJ’s updates!
Mom just got her refund for the airfare to Alaska (pout) so she will be looking at the budget and see if she can’t get some money sent North to Alaska.
8:54 pm on January 22nd, 2014
BooBear!….Good on youse!…snort!….The Bootie Fund or the Feed the Giant fund still need moolah! Or there is a lot of wiggle room in the Check-point campaign too!…chuffle!
9:06 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Hey!
Maybe Bernie could sell some of his Hawaiian pants to the Norway Curling Team!
Cherokee & Meashka = true friends.
Old and new Newfs are both good looking.
AJ: Always nice to hear your updates. Hoping for some colder weather for you up North.
BooBear: I’d be pouting too.
Barb&Maggie: Congratulations on being approved for a new/old doggie.

Checkpoint Accounting Issues!
I finally caught up on all my accounting for Checkpoints and found I had a few more donations than I’d figured! Kinda like going through the couch cushions and finding a few hundred dollars! Heh, heh, heh. I wish!
The long and the short of it is – is that all the checkpoints that were not fully funded, are! WhoooHooo!
That includes the Rescues, the Elders, The Giant & the Pixie and Philip Walters checkpoints!
The bad news is that Snowhook has already received these donations so no more will be coming their way because of this announcement.
Except that I am so pleased that I am going to make a donation to sponsor the last remaining checkpoint, Rainy Pass, in honor of Alice M Johnson, Abigail & Kats!
There! Done! Fini! Over and Out! WhoooooHooooooo!
Go Snowhook!
9:40 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Well, this would have been fun.

Dawson!….What!? What!? What!….Holy Cow! This is really amazing news. I am totally pugged-out!…Zow!… And you funded the last checkpoint all by yourself?…wheeze!snort!
9:50 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Rio: Yup, yup and yup!
Mr Staff: Yes, that would’ve been fun. Maybe you can find some bluegrass music while we are in Anchorage.
9:54 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Mr.Staff!….If the weather right now in Alaska is any indication you will be watching some outdoor concerts while you are up there….sniff!
9:59 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Dawson: Rainy and Kats, are you krazy? Katatonic? It could be a kat’s @ss trophy! Did you get sturck by a katapult? Did a meteor fall on Katmandu? Krimeny! All sponsored! GO SNOWHOOK!

HOH: Yup, nope, yup yup, yup, yup, yup and yup!
10:06 pm on January 22nd, 2014
Great news Dawson. Over and out for us. Nighty noodles.

Panting like we ran a marathon! Wow! Plum tuckered after that news. Climbing into our warmbed with the outside at 20F and heading down 🙁 Hey, Snowhook, we’d gladly sent these temps up there! Nighty night.

It looks like our Russian spy has been cyber-squatting. Did you know that the Target credit card theft mess was traced allegedly to a Russian teenager? As long as Nattie supports Snowhook and works to help them in the race, she is forgiven. She can squat on my avatar anytime.
Mr. Staff: The Anchorage Folkfest lasts two weeks. Last weekend the weather was so horribly icy that my sister and I didn’t attend any of the workshops we were interested in.
My MRI results showed that there is no disk herniation (yay). There is some degeneration of the 5th and 6th disks in my neck and a couple of bone spurs. When I started the chiropractic treatment 6 weeks ago, I was at a level 8-9 for pain on a scale of 10; two weeks ago, it had come down to a 3-4 and it has continued to come down. Today was actually a really good day–wouldn’t you know after I went to all the trouble to get an MRI. It is like a car repair–the noise disappears when you take it to the mechanic. But at least we know that there are no bulging disks that would have caused future problems. My doctor will be doing another assessment on Friday and comparing it to the assessment from 6 weeks ago. This involves a lot of range of motion exercises and strength exercises.
AJ: Tell Philip that we will be rooting for him and the dogs. It will be cool for him to be able to run the Snowhook B Team in next year’s Iditarod to give them experience (if that is the plan). I am so excited about this year and it is super meaningful that so many Plunderers will be here to watch the start.
Sadie started her new pills–I broke them up into 4 pieces and put them on her food and she ate it all. Why do they make such big pills?

CHobbit: Sounds like the chiropractor is working well for you. Thank dog! Pain at an 1-9 level is not to be endured for any length of time.
Sadie: Good dog!

Rio: I am considering making a welcoming dish of lime jello with cottage cheese, pineapple and walnuts.
The only thing that didn’t work out is my car goes back in the shop for most of the day on Monday. I was checking out a little Toyota Scion which seems to be a hobbit-size car. It looks like a 2-seater but they claim that there is a back seat. I either need to get a smaller car or figure out how to parallel park on the streets of Anchorage. Maybe I should check out some YouTube videos to help–it is amazing what you can find on the internet.
Did I mention that I went to a national touring production of West Side Story? What a treat! This is why I live in the big city. Memphis will be coming in May, has anyone seen it?

CHobbit!….You need to think about renting a Van so you can cart those guests all over hell and back while they are visiting…heh!heh!…No one is going to fit in the back of a little Toyota Scion with all that winter clothing on….chorkel!

I will need to stand in the back of a bus once I get all bundled up. If it doesn’t get a LOT colder I will be fine except for extended outdoors time, like the ceremonial start and restart.
Macy sends a big helping of dainty licks. Everybody take what you need.

Just got back from walking Sadie on sheer ice and it is lightly raining. So it will freeze tonight and be an ice skating rink again tomorrow. My plan for tomorrow is to stay home with my feet up, and a good book–and eat bon bons!
