Good morning! The noise and booms are over!
9:34 am on July 8th, 2013
Good morning, Sammie.
Booker is very handsome.
9:34 am on July 8th, 2013
Good morning all.
9:41 am on July 8th, 2013
Greetings All!
Mama Luna and Belle Starr, FOC’s!!! Are you wanted in 50 states/ is that why we don’t see your beautiful faces?
10:03 am on July 8th, 2013
Good morning all. Good for Booker. This is just another example of why breed specific bans are wrong.
If Booker was taken in a drug raid he had probably been involved in fighting, or possibly trained for it. And now look how much good he is doing. Even most of the Vick pits were able to be rehomed, thanks to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
10:20 am on July 8th, 2013
We posted a while ago but it has not shown up, so will just say good morning all.
10:29 am on July 8th, 2013
Testing!…Is the blog working this morning or is it off playing tennis?…grunt!
10:35 am on July 8th, 2013
Pitbull as a hero. 🙂
BelleStarr: I don’t know if this has been posted before but I thought of you the whole time I watched it. This could be you one day! Drag your owner over to the computer and hit play. The key to getting what you want [wearing your owner down] is repetition. What is one little kitten out of 42 dogs. Never give up. I have it on good authority that kittens love sparkly things = purrfection! Good luck. If it doesn’t work, I’ll get a kitten when I move to Anchorage and you can visit us.

What happened to our post? We mentioned Vick pits and Best Friends. Did that do it?
11:06 am on July 8th, 2013
Gooood morning, everyone! Go, Booooker! Dog wants a kat video is priceless and Clyde has some eyebrows. We promise not to gritch and moan about the weather here if nobody gives us grief about the schooool roooof collapse in Dandridge, TN (about 2 hrs from here)
Since we promised not to whine about weather we can’t have a messy Monday, so, how about a Macy Monday?
11:31 am on July 8th, 2013
Belle Starr: This is the perfect video for you to perfect your asking for a kitty of your own. Make sure Mama Luna and your two-legged see it too!
I like today’s Google Doodle. :^)
11:34 am on July 8th, 2013
CHH: It’s like the dog knows exactly what I’m thinking.
11:59 am on July 8th, 2013
HOH, We won’t give you grief, but we did see the school roof collapse this morning, and wondered how far you were from there. Were there injuries? Last year we had drought conditions which wrecked the corn and bean crops. This year we are like you, getting too much rain.
We just watched the Ken Burns dvds on the Dust Bowl episode in American history. Biggest man made environmental disaster in US history. Lethal combo of drought, stupidity and greed.
12:05 pm on July 8th, 2013
OK, now our 10:03 post is there. What caused it to be moderated? Any ideas?
12:08 pm on July 8th, 2013
In the almost words of Farmer Hoggett, “That’ll do, pit. That’ll do.”
12:13 pm on July 8th, 2013
B&M: Nobody hurt. Like everything, Dandridge is 2 hours from here. Mmm? Maybe life is 2 hours from here and we just haven’t heard. Moderated because??? Maybe fear of an opinion using words like “lethal” and “stupidity”?
CHobbit: We got a neat package from the North Pole today. Lots of pretty things and an Ant Colony! Exciting. TY.
12:15 pm on July 8th, 2013
Barb: Perhaps “drug raid”?
12:15 pm on July 8th, 2013
Sharon, that is not the one that was moderated – go back to 10:03.
12:17 pm on July 8th, 2013
Bee, Good point!
12:20 pm on July 8th, 2013
B&M:Just read it. Am with HRH B on this, or what I said before. Having loved Ella Fitz for her 8 1/2 years we watched her change people’s minds about pits.
12:30 pm on July 8th, 2013
Snowbella, glad to find out you weren’t in the plane crash outside of Anchorage this morning. We know you fly off to all kinds of places in small planes so we got a little worried!
G&BB
12:30 pm on July 8th, 2013
HOH: ant colony????
12:39 pm on July 8th, 2013
Oops, we meant Ant Farm. It’s ok. they were in OUR mail box, guess the ground was too wet 🙁 (Not a weather gritch) Hey CH mom wants to know if you own stock in the 3M company. Lots of tape.
12:45 pm on July 8th, 2013
HOH: heh, heh. Never too much tape or padding–take that TMGs! You should see the Christmas presents I wrap. Not for the faint of heart.
1:01 pm on July 8th, 2013
Emma P here and I told them not to do it! Lucy Lou the labradoo and Darah Thea are ganging up on mom and misbehaving! LL went fishing in the fish pond and got a 5 in. goldfish. Then Darah distracted her by going for a swim and drip dry. When mom looked, LL had eaten half the fish while sitting on the couch! At least Darah out the mud rug on the couch as a placemat for her. Mom was angry!
1:03 pm on July 8th, 2013
Gah… out should have been PUT. Darned big paws.
1:06 pm on July 8th, 2013
Oh no! Amazon in Japan is hiring goats and even giving them ID cards. We’re doomed!
http://www.euronews.com/2013/07/05/amazon-hires-goats-for-office-landscaping/
1:26 pm on July 8th, 2013
Great! Does that mean that they will get first crack at all the packages? Maybe that is why Amazon put up the fence around the building. They know!!
1:38 pm on July 8th, 2013
Molly’s Mom, There have been some dot coms in this country that have used goats for landscaping work. They are cheap and efficient.

First they moderate me, now they do a Double Dawson! We are going to leave and take a nap. Wha-sup! BBL
1:43 pm on July 8th, 2013
Thought I was doing better. Noooooo.
Back under the quilt.
1:45 pm on July 8th, 2013
B&M: City of Chattanooga has used those lil’ critters here to eat kudzu off Missionary Ridge.
Melanie: be careful that Tenzing doesn’t ‘splode under there.
1:59 pm on July 8th, 2013
My Plunderer mug has arrived. I love, love it!
2:06 pm on July 8th, 2013
So now they’re Official Card-Carrying Marauding Goats.
2:22 pm on July 8th, 2013
Baaaaaaaaaad. We let 2 packages out of North Pole. We will haaaaaave to work haaaaaaarder for Amazon.
3:05 pm on July 8th, 2013
Booker, the handsome hero pit bull is a perfect fit for an internet literary club.
I’m not giving any details to the TMG’s but I did mail a package out this morning.
The passports are getting done sbs (slowly but surely).
4:54 pm on July 8th, 2013
Amazon!…Hiring Goats!…snort!…Even I couldn’t make that up….grunt!
5:15 pm on July 8th, 2013
Do you think that the goats applied at Amazon with fake résumés?
5:40 pm on July 8th, 2013
Probably sweetie. A cloven hoof can’t type.
5:52 pm on July 8th, 2013
Hey everyone – been quite a long day around here. We posted this morning on yesterday’s blog since we knew we had to hit the ground running.
So, the last detail of the day was the heating contractor here for a meeting to tell us how much the new heating system is going to cost…..
Mama’s hair was curly after her perm the other day. Now it is standing straight up on end. What’s up with that?
5:58 pm on July 8th, 2013
Stopped by the library and ordered Smokey Mountain Tracks, recommended by Wookie’s Dad, and also asked if we could pre-order Unleashed by Rosenfelt. It is coming out later this month, and there was already a short waiting list for it.
5:59 pm on July 8th, 2013
Red spiked hair. Wow!
6:03 pm on July 8th, 2013
T & G, What happened to your heating system?
6:25 pm on July 8th, 2013
We have to have our parkside treee cut down. It is a beautiful green ash with EAB – Emerald Ash Bore. All the Ash trees in Woodstock will need to be cut down. The city will cut it down and carry it off for free, but we have to plant a new tree at our own expense. We will plant it on our side of the sidewalk, so the village can’t come by and trim it whenever they feel like it. We are considering a Freeman Maple. Anyone have one of these? It is a cross between a Red Maple and a Silver Maple.
6:26 pm on July 8th, 2013
I don’t know if it is catching but a neighbor just posted a picture of a bear. It was seen between this town and the one west of us. Melanie I blame you!
6:39 pm on July 8th, 2013
Barb, It looks like a good choice.
http://forums.johnsonsnursery.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=32
My favorite nursery, Bergeson’s over in MN, offers the Autumn Blaze version. They say it is not suited to heavy alkaline soil.
Looks beautiful to me.
6:44 pm on July 8th, 2013
T&G’s Mum – I love the mug. Thanks for doing all you did to get them to us.
6:45 pm on July 8th, 2013
Been a busy day, but I am here for now at least….another thunder storm may be rolling in.
I don’t know how Amazon could do this to me…hiring those stupid goats. Amazon is one of my most very favorite websites.
6:47 pm on July 8th, 2013
Staff, Autumn Blaze is the one we are considering. It is supposed to be a good choice for northern Illinois. We will probably wait till fall to plant. It will be the end of August before they cut down our parkside tree. In the fall we usually can find trees for 50% off, and it is a better time to plant anyway. Not as hot.
6:56 pm on July 8th, 2013
Barb – remember the night our house filled with smoke and we needed to do an after hours service call? The very nice man who does our furnace maintenance tells us that our almost 60 year old heating plant is obsolete, and he can no longer get replacement parts. So we need to replace the system. Only problem is that our crazy house ( built by a crazy person) doesn’t have anything in a standard size or shape. And there aren’t any current water heaters that will fit.
So therefore ( hat tip, Bernie) we need a whole new system.
Waaaaaaa
7:13 pm on July 8th, 2013
Oh T & G, that is too bad. However, the new system might be much more efficient, and therefore….less costly to operate. Do you have gas hot water heat rather than gas forced air?
7:16 pm on July 8th, 2013
Trees, heat, storms and bears! Wowser! It is becoming quite a day…a Macy Monday! Like the maple tree 🙂
7:16 pm on July 8th, 2013
Barb – we currently have oil heat. This big decision has been to switch over to natural gas.
We aren’t sure why. Mama complains when we switch on OUR natural gas.
7:17 pm on July 8th, 2013
Both Molly’s Mom and I had maple trees, don’t know which kind. It’s the messiest tree we’ve ever seen. First comes the seed shells, then flowers, then acers, all summer long.
7:36 pm on July 8th, 2013
System!….Sounds like we need to start a fund raiser for Golinka…sniff!….This all sounds very expensive….groan!
7:49 pm on July 8th, 2013
Princess Sam: I agree. Our neighbor’s maple tree’s seeds are growing all over the yard and flower beds. Those “helicopter” seeds that I loved so much when I was a young girl are a real pain.
The passport gets better and better. I’ve forgotten what it is called (something like “logo background”) but the pages in the passport are filled with the words “Plunderer passport”, “Chet the Dog” and “Snowhook Kennels” just very light and small letters so that you don’t really notice until you look a little closer, then, wow! It is very, very nice. Not too much longer…a week or maybe two.
7:51 pm on July 8th, 2013
I have no idea why my comment at 3:05 got moderated. Mike Baker, things are getting out of control in the censor shop.
7:53 pm on July 8th, 2013
Passport!….Dawson, you and the Turtle-guy make an Awesome-Dawson-Turtle Team!….Wooooo!…I cannot wait to see the Official Plunderer Passport…snort!
7:55 pm on July 8th, 2013
Avatar!…Come Home!..sniff!
7:55 pm on July 8th, 2013
OK, time to go watch Major Crimes. Love that show. Having dinner and we have the first green beans of the season. Yum!
7:56 pm on July 8th, 2013
The ‘rents just ate their first tomato of the season: a Brandywine. They say they are in heaven. We say…whatever.
T&G, your place sounds like ours. Pop always dares people to name one single thing in outr house that we didn’t have to replace. We are always in hock around here, and Mom is always stressing about it. Our finances are a mess.
7:56 pm on July 8th, 2013
Rio – Mama says you and Beau can come over anytime and have hot wings and beer. Then she will never have to worry about natural gas ever, ever again.
We can invite the Pack too. Melanie says Franklin is especially “gifted”.
Hey – know what? Our next show is in the hometown of OFA! Wonder if he is going to be home or off on his world tour as a New York Times Best Selling Author. Guess we better email him and find out. Besides doing the show, and hopefully visiting with either Spence or Admin, they are also going to the Cape to eat stuffed quahogs until they can’t move.
8:02 pm on July 8th, 2013
Howlers!…Is that why you invested in all those chickens?…snort!…To see if one of them will lay a golden-egg…heh!heh!
8:03 pm on July 8th, 2013
That is their dream, Rio. Our dream has nothing to do with any old egg those chickens are going to lay. Heh heh
8:03 pm on July 8th, 2013
Quahog!….What in the world is a quahog?…sniff!sniff!…Am I missing out on something special?…wheeze!
8:04 pm on July 8th, 2013
Howlers!….snort!
8:07 pm on July 8th, 2013
Rio – a quahog is a giant clam. They cook the clam meat with Portuguese linguica sausage, bread crumbs, onions, celery, and hot peppers, and stuff it all back in the shell and bake it. Served with a little lemon and melted butter…what could be better?
8:11 pm on July 8th, 2013
Dawson….watermark
8:13 pm on July 8th, 2013
Clams!…That is not something we normally eat here…gurgle!gah!…Sounds slimy and unhealthy to me…spit!
8:20 pm on July 8th, 2013
Pop loves clams. Seriously loves them. Mom, not so much.but the rest of that sounded very good, T&G.
8:25 pm on July 8th, 2013
We were about to ask about quahogs too. They actually sound really good!
8:40 pm on July 8th, 2013
Rio – Mama wouldn’t eat a raw clam, or even a steamed one. But you chop it and bake it and she’s right there.
And linguica sausage – yum!
8:42 pm on July 8th, 2013
SiberH!…Our game does not come on till late!late!late!…grunt!…Oh quahogs!…sniff!
8:42 pm on July 8th, 2013
Staff, the quilt arrived today. The picture you posted in the Musher Boutique did not do it justice. It is just beautiful. Mom is glad the nieces aren’t in a hurry to have babies….this way she can keep it longer. Thank you so much! We don’t know if Alice or Abbie tested it, but whoever did a great job.
9:02 pm on July 8th, 2013
T&G: I’m not sure about clams, but I’d be willing to try a quahog.
Rio: Don’t forget Staff! She came up with the wording about the Empress Queen B. (with all the Plunderer’s input). And she has worked on the layout (although Turtleman and I didn’t quite understand what she was on about, so we did what we thought she might’ve meant). I only provided a real passport as a guide and at the proper times I utter the words, “That is gonna knock their socks off!” or “Four paws up!” or other encouraging words to keep Turtleman focused on the job.
MacyMinPin: Kinda like a watermark but it is a continuous lettering background sometimes used on security documents whereas a water mark is usually just one stamp. Logo field! That’s it!
9:07 pm on July 8th, 2013
Staff!…How can I forget Staff?…snort!… Even though this passport won’t look anything like what Staff envisioned, I’m sure it will be really great!….chuffle!…A true work of Art!….wheeze!
9:15 pm on July 8th, 2013
Rio, I noticed how late this game begins. It seems like the Rockies are playing too many games on the West coast. I won’t object if they can actually win some.
I would have time to eat a quahog. Nothing like that ever appears in this house.
9:30 pm on July 8th, 2013
Siber!…I’ve been told we will be walking at 8:00…grump!…Right at the time the game starts for Pete’s Sake…grumble!..huffle!…puffle!
Whodunnit!…Does anyone else watch this show?…heh!…Murder Mystery reality show. Pretty fun! Not to intense. I thought it would be more intense, but it is fluffy fun….chuffle!
9:39 pm on July 8th, 2013
Qua??? If it didn’t come out of mom’f fish pond, we are suspect!
Mom replaced her heat/air unit about 3 years ago 🙁 Worried about $$$ too. Went with electric AC, natural gas heat and hot h2o. Working great so far!
9:42 pm on July 8th, 2013
Yesterday!…Now, what was Melanie doing up at 2am posting strange fotos of kats…grunt!…There are “other” things she could be spending her healthy time on….snort!
9:51 pm on July 8th, 2013
Rio: Yes…other things! But the just befor 2 a.m. worried us too. Is the Iditarod on in July?
9:57 pm on July 8th, 2013
Nighty noodles.
10:04 pm on July 8th, 2013
Whoo hoo, since mom got the ipaw, she leaves on the night stand where we can reach it regularly 🙂 We are in heaven!
10:40 pm on July 8th, 2013
OK hounds, go to bed. Your mom is in control of the puter again,
10:41 pm on July 8th, 2013
G&BB: I worry about my Two-legged all the time, but for now she is right were she belongs—at home with me, me, me. Blurring is the safest form of travel.
Passport! I can’t wait for the passport. I wonder if my Two-legged will let me bedazzle it.
10:43 pm on July 8th, 2013
Gasp!…We are home from our long walk..wheeze!cough!…The sun is low, but it is still very hot out…grunt!…Now can we please just watch the ballgame…grumble!cough!choke!
10:55 pm on July 8th, 2013
Whew!…I only missed 2 innings during that damned walk…grunt!…And the Rockies managed to score 2 runs without me watching…Yipppeee!…2 ta Nuthing. It’s been a long time since I was able to type that bit of info…wheeze!
10:59 pm on July 8th, 2013
Rio: That’s the best news I’ve heard since you returned home from your brutal walk.
11:04 pm on July 8th, 2013
Bellie!…It is the only news you’ve heard since my return from the great outdoors…snort!
11:06 pm on July 8th, 2013
lol
11:09 pm on July 8th, 2013
Time!…I can’t believe how fast time flies starting when my friend gets home from the damned-cursed-busy-place…sniff!…All day it drags by as Beau and I change places to snuffle and snooze…grunt!…Then all of a sudden she comes home and things start happening, supper, outside, TV!, walk(grunt), baseball game-woooo! and then it is time for bed before I can even think twice about any of it…wheeze!
11:12 pm on July 8th, 2013
Rio: Like I said—the best news I’ve heard.
Im going to tuck my Two-legged in early tonight. Nighty nutter butters.
11:14 pm on July 8th, 2013
Night!…Bellie!…snort!…My night is still happening for a little while yet…heh!burp!
11:23 pm on July 8th, 2013
We are giving up for the night, but maybe the Rockies can win this game. I would be happier going to sleep if they had more than a 2 run lead.
We have thunder and illegal fireworks going on here.
Night All
11:29 pm on July 8th, 2013
Vote!…We placed our vote tonight for Ian Desmond for the National All-Stars biggest and bestest…heh!heh!…We could have voted more, but someone is very tired…grunt!
11:43 pm on July 8th, 2013
Score!…3 ta Nuthing!…snort!…Now my night is over – but we will be listening to the radio ….heh!heh!…Goodnight All!
12:11 am on July 9th, 2013
Goodnight all. Dawson the passport is sounding awesome. I can’t wait to see it.
T&G I am so sorry about your power plant. At least it is not the middle of the winter and you are out of power. sniff. I know that is not really helping…heh.
Rio, Mr.Staff tells me that Cuddyer broke his hitting streak. We were rooting for him.
12:13 am on July 9th, 2013
Gus and BooBear. We are so glad you like the quilt. It is hard to get a good picture of light colored fabrics. Wait until you see what I have planned for the auction.
