Globalization, International Economics, And Us: From A Fistful Of Collars
The next thing I knew we were on our way to the yard at the back of Nixon’s Championship Autobody. One of his guys was spraypainting a picture of a curvy woman on a black fender.
“More tit, Ruy,” Nixon said as we went by. “What’s wrong with you?”
Ruy raised his mask. “Sorry, boss.”
We kept going. “Can’t get good help,” Nixon said. “What’s going to happen to this country? We’re competing in the global marketplace.”
“Maybe the big breast thing isn’t as important overseas,” Bernie said.
“Talk sense, Bernie,” Nixon said.
Today, 2-3, Boston Book Festival: Peter Abrahams is on a panel discussing middle-grade mysteries, Boston Public Library, McKim Lower.

Okay, Steve. If you say so. lol.
Good Morning Plunderers!
(whispering) still bummed about POI, but loved the screenshot of YSAS. Thanks for the invite, Dawson. Should I pack my snowshoos?

Heh. Good point, Melanie.
Youse are welcome to come here to ride out the storm. Blurring arrangements can be set up with Wolfie, who has also issued an invitation. Barb&Magpie have too.
10:36 am on October 27th, 2012
Mom here. We are at the bagel shop. It is too chilly to eat on the patio so Belle had to stay in the truck. She is bummed. Great fall weather here.
Weather channel now saying there is 0% chance the storm will go to sea. Button up tight friends!
10:46 am on October 27th, 2012
Good morning all. The good news is that the neighbor from h e l l actually had a tree company come yesterday and take down the gigantic, half dead pine tree that was leaning ominously toward our house. whew
Yesterday Mama and Dad went to the grocery store for just normal shopping. The first thing they did upon getting to the store was to get a cup of coffee from Starbucks. The second thing Mama did was dump half her cup down the front of her off-white sweater. She was mortified. Cleaned and blotted up as much as she could, but still had to do the rest of the shopping with a big brown stain down her front. Dad was no help. He said it just showed that Mama like some coffee with her cream.
She threw a grape at him.

LOL at Melanie’s comments about Spence’s reading to school kids, and also Amalia’s spill. Reminds Barb of the time they were doing last minute prep for Kelly’s wedding. Barb was wearing a full length ivory silk beaded dress. The maid of honor shook some brown tinted gel or something and the top was not screwed on. The s**t went flying all over the front of Barb’s dress. Picture about 20 little oozy, runny brown stains. Thank Dog it came off with warm water, and then multiple hair dryers were used to dry her off in time to walk down the isle. Tears were not far away.
11:28 am on October 27th, 2012
Spills! Always happen at the worst possible time.
A look at the newest model the Howlers posted on Facebookie is very scary. We are having problems convincing those Plunderers in the path of the storm to blur out of harms way. They are refusing to leave their human companions behind.
11:33 am on October 27th, 2012
Blonds!…Look at ole Spencer sandwiched between two blonds…heh!heh!…You go Spence! Good thing you left Admin at home…chorkel!

Good Morning All!
The newest storm track shows it going in right over Wookie and then to the Howlers.
All of you are invited to come stay with me in the Land of Enchantment…blue skies, temps around 70 degrees.

Good Afternoon All!
It is a grey day here in Westchester. I’m a littl nervous about this Frankenstorm coming our way. I think the Prof and I have pretty much what we need, but even stil….
I see my VBFF, Belle Starr up top!
If I would have had just a little more notice that OFA was appearing, Prof and I would be at the BBF right now.
12:26 pm on October 27th, 2012
Wolfie, I share your concern about G&BB’s dad. Hope everyone there is okay.
12:27 pm on October 27th, 2012
Spills! A reason why I usually wear dark clothes. I make the saying “Many a slip between cup and lip” a true one! Luckily, after I spill I usually get Newf drool so you can’t tell.
We still have a couple of days to get ready. Pool cover: check! Loose items in the Play yard put away: check! New batteries in flashlights: check! Next (and not sure when) are the doors in the barn.
Bella, you came in through the west wing or the front door. The barn is to the right of the house. It has two doors that someone might think you could put a car in. They would be wrong! The doors open in and were for horses. We even have a hay loft.
It is now used for storage and lots and lots and lots of dog food.

Cleared off our back deck this morning. Anything that might become a projectile is now in the shed. Bought out the liquor store, so we won’t die of thirst whatever happens. Off to Queens and then Manhattan this evening for our first gay wedding. Will have the unique experience of kissing both brides, or whatever.
1:47 pm on October 27th, 2012
Have fun, Terry.
Talked with YSAS. He is at OTAS and GLAD’s house. The downstairs bathroom now has no toilet, sink, the cabinet and the tiled floor are now all gone. He is about to start peeling wallpaper. .
A story . . YSAS has a very clear idea of behavior (not that he always does the correct thing), but on his way to OTAS’s house there was a number of 13 and 14 year old guys giving the conductor a bad time. YSAS works for a living and does not think that people should be given a hard time when they are doing their job to the best of their ability. These kids got louder and louder, started screaming and the conductor left. They continued to yell.
Now YSAS has been up since 5 in the morning having done some catering work. He has not had lunch because the train station did not have anything gluten free. He said, “Shut the **** up.” He has a trained theatrical voice. They did. Within 5 minutes they didn’t see why they should. So he said it again. Then he stood up. YSAS is not tall, he does not weight a great deal, but he has a lot of physical presence. He went to stand by them. They shut up. Then one guy who had not said much asked, “Did you have a bad day a work?” YSAS said yes and I haven’t eaten anything, and the guys you are with have no idea how to act properly on a train. At that point, the train stopped it was his stop and he got out.
Snicker, both my guys will take just so much and when the line is crossed that is it. Reminds me of someone . . . pondering.

Melanie – now who would that be?
Bee – will do.

There has been a plethora of wild critters showing up around here the past couple of days. Two days ago, a fox ran across the road right in front of us. Yesterday, a very large doe stepped into the road in front of us (Mama saw her coming, and had a chance to stop). And just now, there was a black squirrel running down our fence line. We usually only have greys.
There is also an albino chipmunk that lives across the street that we see all the time.
We do love to see all these wonderful creatures.

We have all outdoor stuff put away, including our doggie lounge chair hammocks and our toy box. Also porch furniture, patio furniture, and the table and chairs at the fire pit. Oh yeah, and the fire pit. And the grill, and all the obstacles in the riding ring, and the stakes from the garden, and the truck and horse trailer. The generator is now outside and has finally been tested. But now are internet is down. We are using the 4g to post.
The rents are going to a party at a guy from Pop’s office. Mom is super sad because our beautiful outdoors now looks like it is ready fir winter. 🙁

We have followup visits Monday and then the following Monday to get started on treatments. Prognosis is for full recovery although sometimes Dad seems to forever that.

All you guys on the east coast stay safe. We’re worrying about y’all.
4:38 pm on October 27th, 2012
Gus& BooBear: Home is the best place to be. More prayers coming at you for a complete recovery, meanwhile, enjoy the company of family and friends. Thanks for checking in.
Staff: That story about little BeeBee hit a tender spot in my heart.
World Series: I will have to record the game tonight as I have a very important card game to attend. Ca-ching! I fully expect Detroit to come out with bats a blazing. Go Tigers!
4:55 pm on October 27th, 2012
Gus&BooBear, Thanks for checking in with us. The prognosis is wonderful news! You guys have been in all our thoughts and prayers.
Dawson, If you are going to record the game, don’t read the blog before you watch it.
I am happy to learn that all of you are preparing for the storm.
5:08 pm on October 27th, 2012
Hi G&BB. Praying for your mom and dad. They have Plunder Power behind them.
We’ll be watching the weather. Glad you out east have time to prepare. Stay safe.
Staff – awwwww. She has bright eyes!
5:09 pm on October 27th, 2012
Good work on storm prep OH. You are as ready as you can be.
Good news from G & B. Prognosis is very encouraging. We also will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for updating us. We all have been worried.
Now Barb is going over to Josh’s to move the chickens for the winter. The little coop is cute but too small, and the place they have them is not ideal, so a friend on a farm is taking them for the winter. By spring they can figure out a better arrangement.
After that she is staying to visit and drink some wine, although it is not Cahours. Later
5:17 pm on October 27th, 2012
Wonderful story, Staff.
5:23 pm on October 27th, 2012
Staff: That is so cool! And, now she’s a tiny Therapy Dog.
Good luck tonight, Dawson. Let’s hope the Tigers can get by without you.
Gus&BooBear: So happy to hear the Good news about your dad! Thank you for letting us know how he is doing. Continuing prayers for his full recovery.
Tupper&Gilly: How are Callie and Gramp doing? We are thinking about them and sending Good thoughts and Healing prayers.
Melanie, Terry and O.Howlers: You have done all you can to prepare. We are praying you and the others along the Eastern seaboard and in the Storms path will all be safe.
5:24 pm on October 27th, 2012
Storm!…Youse guys the storm already hit here…sniff!…I think you are over-doing it a bit. Just some snow and ice. The usual crappy winter stuff…grunt!

G&BB: Wonderful news about your dad. Will continue to send healing thoughts and prayers his way.
6:11 pm on October 27th, 2012
G&BB, let your dad know that I think full recovery takes forever too. snicker.
So happy to hear the good news.
OleyHowlers, I’m also happy that I didn’t have to help weather prepare your homestead.
6:16 pm on October 27th, 2012

My Two-Legged mama got up early this morning and drove into Anchorage to participate in one of the writing classes AJ gave her for her birthday. She was spinning and twirling when she left. I worried about her getting pulled over for driving under the spinfluence, but now that she has returned home she assures me her clean driving record remains in tact. She said she learned a lot at her class about—well, let’s call it stuff. She learned a lot of stuff. I stopped listening as soon as I realized the class title was not ‘How to Love, Spoil and Worship Belle Starr.’
G&BB: Stay close to your mom and pop. Both will need it on the road to a full recovery.
BSD: My Two-Legged says we are not in any danger from Sandy, but can we come play, er, I mean wait out the storm with you and Masuers? My Four-Legged says not to invite myself, but I have no idea what that means.
Rio: My Two-Legged says the thought and consideration you give to the Kennel means the world to her.
7:32 pm on October 27th, 2012
Gus and Boobear – We are so happy to hear that your Dad is going to be perfect in time. Tell him that each person who visits adds to the healing power that surrounds him. With all the good wishes of family and friends (both virtual and in person), he will be better in no time!
Hey Rio – do you have any more information on the upcoming auction? Doesn’t have to be written in stone – we were just wondering about speculative time frame.
Thanks for all your concern about Callie and Gramp. We are happy to report that both are doing well. Gramp is starting to be able to see a little bit more. And Callie is trying her best to bounce around like a puppy, even though she is supposed to be kept “quiet” for another week. HA! But we have to say, we are more and more impressed with the surgeon’s skill each passing day. This is a long incision, from hip to hock, and it is healing beautifully. (even though Sage is still teasing her about looking like a poodle)
And we are battening down for the backlash of the storm. Don’t think we will be hit as hard here as Terry, the Howlers and even MollyPop’s Mom, but it pays to be ready. And we are keeping eveyone in harms’s way in our prayers.
7:45 pm on October 27th, 2012
Auction!… The Holiday Auction will most likely be held the weekend before or after Thanksgiving…snort!…Rebecca and I need to iron out the details and since neither of us like to iron, well….snort!… The Holiday Boutique will also have a grand opening sometime before Christmas…heh!…But remember, neither of these money raising events can happen unless we have stuff to Auction and stuff to put on the Boutique shelves….snuffle!…It’s up to youse guys to start thinking about what you want to contribute to make it all a success….grunt!…I’m hoping Melanie will be up to the task of editing and primping our photos for us once again…snorkel!…Oooohhhhh Melanie!!!!
7:51 pm on October 27th, 2012

Will talk to you all in the morning. Good night.

Belle Starr: Under the spinfluence…You guys crack me up. Nice to hear your 2-legged mama enjoyed her class. What a Great B-Day present from the Giant.
You always have an open invitation to visit. No excuses are needed.
Auction! The wheels are spinning. That’s all I can say at this time. We have something extra special in mind…only hope it will be ready in time.
Good night Melanie.

8:48 pm on October 27th, 2012
Gus&BooBear: It’s good to hear from you.
Just got back from dinner in Ann Arbor with my Physics prof friend. He’s teaching astrology this semester and I may sit in on some of the classes. We decided that the best way to see dark and light together will be to look at the moon when it’s in first quarter phase.
8:56 pm on October 27th, 2012
Stover!….The World Series is in your neck of the woods tonight!….snort!….
Isn’t that exciting!??8:56 pm on October 27th, 2012
Rio: My Two-Legged and I are definitely wash ‘n wear kind of gals (aka iron-shmiron). The timeline in your previous posts looks acceptable, of course I don’t have to do anything for it. My Two-Legged on the other hand is a different story. She has been think, think, thinking of things for the auction and boutique including the Snowhook calendar, which surprising, isn’t dedicated to me.
8:58 pm on October 27th, 2012
Bee – one could always see dark and light together by reading the Plundfer Poem that we collectively wrote.

Seriously…grunt!….I am listening to the “interview” Steve mentioned up above in the very first post…grunt!…They are talking about Kat litter…sniff!…Really? Right before Spencer comes on I have to listen to a discussion about Kat litte…grump!…What the Hell!
9:20 pm on October 27th, 2012
whew, The Giants got out of that inning.
This conversation reminds me…Molly’s (my Siber friend) mom lives next door to the woman who does makeup for shows like Breaking Bad.
9:22 pm on October 27th, 2012
Macy: Do they come in an insulated version? Size 6 1/2?
9:23 pm on October 27th, 2012
SiberH!….WHAT!?..WHAT!?…WHAT!??…snort!….You are two degrees from someone who works on my most favorite show ever?..wheeze!…I think I am going to faint….gasp!…Is there anyway this person can ask the other person to let me on the set sometime? I would leave my yard for that opportunity. My friend would come with me too, you betcha…heh!
Litter!….finally the Kat litter conversation is almost over…grump!
9:42 pm on October 27th, 2012
Interview!…Great interview with Spencer, you just have to get throught the poo and piss kitty litter interview first…grunt!…This is how much I love!love!love! our author, I gave up time watching the World Series to listen to him talk to a krazy lady…heh!heh!
9:43 pm on October 27th, 2012
Rio: Is it safe to ask how your baseball game is going? Junior wants to know if ‘our’ team is winning?
9:46 pm on October 27th, 2012
Junior!…The Giants are still 2 ta Nuthing against the Tigers…snort!…I was terrified I would miss something big during the time spent listening to Spencer, but no nothing new happend to change the score…heh!heh!…I hope Staff listens to that Kat Litter interview, she may learn something valuable about Alice and AbbieTheFats poo and piss…sniff!gah!
9:50 pm on October 27th, 2012
Rio, We have never met the woman. All we do is hear stories about her. She is a 43 year old Goth. The latest story is that she is running off to Denmark to meet a 23 year old guy she met online. She is suppose to be an excellent makup artist but has a strange private life.
9:50 pm on October 27th, 2012
My Lady has placed an order for the non-pooping dog time and time again, yet each time another member of the nation within arrives at the Kennel she is sorely disappointed. I hope Staff has better luck than My Lady.
9:54 pm on October 27th, 2012
Bella, will have to do more research re: insulated version. For now we have to deal with the Easterners, although some of them may be needing the insulated ones too. Hurricanes, blizzards, too much excitement for me.
9:55 pm on October 27th, 2012
No-Poop!…Don’t even suggest that to Beau. He enjoys his poops….heh!…I can’t even describe how much tonight, if ever. His technique is really quite unusual to say the least…chorkel!
9:57 pm on October 27th, 2012
SiberH: Our Lady says we have an interesting private life. She uses words like up to no good, theives and debauchery. Doesn’t bother us, no idea why it bothers her.
Macy: Our Lady was attracted to the bright colors.

I am glad to hear Gus and BooBear’s Dads prognosis. We won’t stop sending Plunder good wishes though.
Wow What a great play at first by Cabrerra and Fielder. Out at first. Yes.
Sounds like everyone is getting ready for the big storm. I am glad that T&G got that tree down this week. It wouldn’t be good with this weather coming through.
