Getting Familiar With Vik!

Here we have Viktor Shklovsky, the late great Russian formalist behind defamiliarization, which Wikipedia defines thus: “the artistic technique of presenting to audiences common things in an unfamiliar or strange way in order to enhance perception of the familiar.” Lately, in certain circles, it’s been noted that there are many examples of defamiliarization in the Chet and Bernie series. I await PhD theses digging deeper into this.
