Good morning! A fitness tracker? We don’t need no stinkin’ fitness tracker. We can tell yo what shape we’re in: tip top, tip top, and tip top.
(Mom here): Actually, that gadget sounds really cool.
8:35 am on January 11th, 2014
Good morning, everyone! Mom says she doesn’t need anything else with a battery in it. There are too many right now!
Have a sure-fire Saturday.
8:56 am on January 11th, 2014
I think “apps” have gotten out of control.
Good morning all.
9:04 am on January 11th, 2014
We have Jimmie Johns here but I’ve never had one of their sandwiches. I’ll have to try it.
9:16 am on January 11th, 2014
Wet, icy, warm Morning to All,
The plows and sand trucks have been by, and will probably continue all day.
Downpours all day. Which means any melting ice and snow will become glaciers. Ahh, life in the Hilltowns.
Phillip, one of our Snowhook team, will NOT be running in the Copper Basin 300. He has a pup of his own arriving sometime this weekend. Congratulations to Phillip and Mrs. Phillip.
9:19 am on January 11th, 2014
Not sure how long I’ll be in the land of the conscious.
I’ll catch up with yesterday today.
9:19 am on January 11th, 2014
One more note on yesterday’s spam, spam, spam discussion, What is worst than spam? Turkey spam 🙁
9:36 am on January 11th, 2014
When Mom was little, she and her brother and sister had to stay at her aunt’s house while her mom was in the hospital. Her Uncle John bought a whole lot of spam to help out Aunt Isabel. All the kids hated it. Their dog Trixie woukd lie under the tabke, and the kids woukd surrepticiously hand her spam. Aunt Isabel knew they were doing this, but Uncs thought the kids loved spam since it was disappearing so fast. So he bought more. 🙁
9:38 am on January 11th, 2014
Melanie, stay put. Mom almost landed on her butt this morning, because it is so icy, even though the temp was 39.
9:46 am on January 11th, 2014
Will do O’Howlers. Mac and Mattie did what they needed to outside, came back in, and stared at us like the weather was our fault.
9:53 am on January 11th, 2014
Wow Howler’s mom, that was so nice of you. I wish someone would slip me a nice hunk of Spam about now. Maybe with a side of eggs. But only one piece of toast. I’m watching my carbs. *That “chunky monkey” comment still smarts* Oh, and I like turkey spam just fine, if anybody asks.
It is to be 70 here tomorrow. sigh
10:07 am on January 11th, 2014
Maggie, wonderful news on the bike shop. Busted pipes should be busting out all over up here. Usually, newcomers to the area who do not understand about how to keep the house plumbing happy.
Spam and jello. Yuck.
Diane C. How goes the getting together of the Pack?
Growing tired once again. BBL
10:12 am on January 11th, 2014
Melanie, don’t forget the velveeta 🙂 Health foods, one and all (or at least memory foods.
10:14 am on January 11th, 2014
We think Voyce sounds cool, but wouldn’t buy it. Barb doesn’t do apps even tho she has a smart phone. Besides she knows what I do all day.
Major melt going on here. Half of our snow will be gone by this afternoon. Sump pump is going off every 5 minutes.
Since you brought Spam up again, isn’t it a staple in Hawaii? Seems we read somewhere that it is really popular there.
We were wondering what the poor rabbits were eating with well over a foot of snow on the ground. Just discovered that they
were dining on the new black chokeberry bushes that we planted in the back yard this fall.
10:22 am on January 11th, 2014
Rabbits will find a way . .
Forgot to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Darah!
(Does your mom know you have another year of puppyhood?)
10:23 am on January 11th, 2014
Why Barb, that was real nice of you to put in a bunny buffet. I’m sure they will tell all their friends about it and then Maggie can go out and greet them.
10:37 am on January 11th, 2014
B&M: Spam in the Philippines, too.
Melanie: Why do you think we call her the “goofy newfie”?
Bunny buffet? Be careful how you say that one!
10:40 am on January 11th, 2014
HOH, I was just taking a little google tour. Is your house near the deer crossing sign? Pretty area. *stalking music begins*
10:41 am on January 11th, 2014
Chet: We Here are only interested in Trackers for the Nation Within.
NO to Velveeta & Cheez Whiz…a tentative maybe to Spam. However…now that we have mentioned it Someone’s stomach is turning at the mention of it. Not a good idea for breakfast it seems.
Rio’s suggestion last night to order from Jimmy John’s (Freaky Fast Delivery) prompted us to check for a location. They are all over the place, but Nada in this particular area. It seems we are too far Off the Beaten Path.
Barb&Magpie: Watched Impossible last night and if we hadn’t known it was based on a True Story, we would say, yes it was “impossible”. You were right to warn about the Graphic Injury Scenes!
BTW: Nice of you to feed the Birds & Rabbits. 🙂
10:48 am on January 11th, 2014
Food!…If you ‘all are going to discuss disgusting food again today, count me out!out!out!….grunt!
10:50 am on January 11th, 2014
Macy: (shark like music..doo, doo, doo, doo) About 2 houses away. 6th on the north side of the street. Come on down, coffee is on. Pay no attention to the dawg hair and footprints.
10:51 am on January 11th, 2014
Shot-gun!…My friend has a lot of running around to do this morning and I get to go with her…heh!heh!…Beau will be staying home where he belongs….sniff!
10:54 am on January 11th, 2014
Riö: I quite agree. Birds & bunnies are a much better subject. Heh, heh. ^..^
10:55 am on January 11th, 2014
Fern!…I want to see a video of Fern doing her PT exercises…heh!heh!….Baa!Baa!Baaaawwwk!
10:57 am on January 11th, 2014
Riö: Oh, oh…and WHY are going with your friend?..just a thought to ponder.
10:57 am on January 11th, 2014
Birds (not so much bunnies) it is. Is anyone else joining in the “Great Backyard Bird Count” Feb. 14-17? There is info at birdcount.org
11:00 am on January 11th, 2014
Once again, You have got to be kidding me…a fitness tracker for dogs. It would be nice if the people that are spending this money on junk for dogs woud give the money to Rescues instead.
Darah, Happy Birthday a day late. That is an excellent photo of you.
Melanie, Thanks for the Phillip news.
We had a bad windstorm yesterday. My folks will be fixing a 6 ft. wooden fence today or making the decision to call the fence company. A section of the fence isn’t down yet, but it is going to go down.
11:02 am on January 11th, 2014
Bear, The one injury that really got Barb was where they showed the back of the mom’s leg as they were walking thru the water. That one got her stomach churning. The special effects of the waves first coming on land were amazing, weren’t they.
11:13 am on January 11th, 2014
Barb&Magpie: It was indeed Very Realistic…wondering if some of the initial scenes were of Actual Footage.
Siber-H: Is this Your backyard fence that is down? This could be a problem for your Excavation Business or just “business” in general.
11:24 am on January 11th, 2014
OK, for palate cleansing, here is where the folks are going to brunch to “celebrate” their anniversary.

11:29 am on January 11th, 2014
We bought the black chokeberry bushes because they were supposed to be bird friendly. The fruit sets in late summer and hang on into the winter. The bushes were about 4 foot high. Now they are about 18″ high. Bunnies actually cut them off like little beavers and ate the whole branch.
11:31 am on January 11th, 2014
Macy: Yummers, we might just come along.
11:33 am on January 11th, 2014
Macy, that looks yummy!
11:35 am on January 11th, 2014
My techno-literacy doesn’t yet extend to apps. It could be of value if a dog goes on a run-about to track what they are doing.
Melanie: Thanks for the Philip Walters shout-out. A brand new musher-to-be! Here are some informative words from one of his posts – about how to tell if a dog could be injured and also, what each dog on a team is responsible for according to their positions.
(Philip says:) When running the dogs, I keep a close eye on each dog’s tug line (the line between their harness and the gangline). It should be tight, no slack, basically all of the time (except for when they’re pooping, but some of them can even keep it tight while doing that– TALENT!). If I see the tugline getting slack, it’s a sign that the dog is a) tired, b) injured, or c) sick, so I’ll keep a closer eye on that dog and see if I can pick up what’s going on. If necessary, I’ll load the dog into the sled to ride home (or to the next checkpoint).
As far as where we place the dog, each dog will run in most every position, and we try to make sure each dog gets moved around in the team quite a bit. Each position has its own responsibilities– lead dogs find the trail, make the turns, etc., team dogs are the main powerhouse for the team, wheel dogs take the brunt of the force from the sled– so we try to make sure no dog gets “pigeonholed” into one position, especially lead dogs!
SiberH: I hope you aren’t making any plans for a run-about.
11:41 am on January 11th, 2014
Bunny’s Buffet
Bunnies Buffet
Heh, heh, heh.
11:48 am on January 11th, 2014
We knew it was only a matter of time on the bun jokes…
11:56 am on January 11th, 2014
You know, I don’t think we ever really discussed the Sound and the Furry. We here loved it. We thought the writing was excellent, especially in Chapter 23. Spence should get a prize for writing the Best Chapter Ever.
12:05 pm on January 11th, 2014
Think some were waiting to discuss to be sure all had read it. We are rereading it and love how OFA is really into canine mentality.
12:15 pm on January 11th, 2014
Why did the bunny go hippity hop to the barber shop? (come on, Golinka, this is right up your alley.)
12:30 pm on January 11th, 2014
To get his hare cut.
12:33 pm on January 11th, 2014
Groan.
12:33 pm on January 11th, 2014
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. The lady with the bunny buffet has the answer. Know it wasn’t sports, but is a pie in order for the winner?
12:33 pm on January 11th, 2014
Macy, Now that looks like food we would enjoy! Yummers. What restaurant is it?
12:36 pm on January 11th, 2014
We would like what Macy is having first, and then a piece of pie.
12:39 pm on January 11th, 2014
OK, here is a good one for you Sharon. When does a teacher carry bird seed?
12:47 pm on January 11th, 2014
Wolfie, We think the series just keeps getting better. And you are right, chapter 23 was spine tingling good. We went back to check out Cpt. 23, and funny thing, the third paragraph in, Chet comments that “Swimming is a lot like trotting”. Those guys that did all the research on watching dogs swim should have read that chapter. Chet could have saved them both time and money.
12:48 pm on January 11th, 2014
Chapter 23 was scary!
12:54 pm on January 11th, 2014
Youse sure are right about that! Each book just keeps getting better & better.
12:56 pm on January 11th, 2014
One scene that I liked was with the vet, Dr. Ory. Chet doesn’t want to go into her trailer, “so she came out.” She puts disinfectant on Chet’s shoulder. “She scratched behind one of my ears and rose. Iko’s scent was totally gone. What a vet!” (In Chapter 24.)
12:58 pm on January 11th, 2014
Mmmm? Tweet? Peck? Scratch? We are thinking.
1:04 pm on January 11th, 2014
Mom understands plot twists and tension and building the story, but she worries about Chet when he and Bernie get separated. (Yeah, and she still cries in “Where the Red Fern Grows” and “Incredible Journey” -Pookey here, tell her to not be such a softie)
1:10 pm on January 11th, 2014
We admit it – Mama skipped most of Chapter 23. She really doesn’t handle “doggie in danger” scenes very well.
And we are having a twirl moment here. We have another (honorary) grandbaby to introduce. Nadia Ada was born early this morning, with early being the operative word. She decided to show up 7 weeks early and is in the neonatal ICU, but she seems strong and active and healthy. Just impatient. So, keep a good thought for her is you will. She has two very wonderful parents, and is headed for a great life of adventure and love.
1:12 pm on January 11th, 2014
Barb cries in any touching animal related story. Did anyone see the reunion of the two elephants that hadn’t seen each other in 20 years? It is on U-tube. Of course Barb had tears pouring down her face. Seeing two people reunited after 20 years? Not so much.
OK, Sharon. The teacher has bird seed with her for the parrot-teacher conference. haahaahaahaa
1:22 pm on January 11th, 2014
B&M Good, she didn’t even think along those lines 🙁
1:28 pm on January 11th, 2014
The Sound and the Furry was our favorite C&B to date. Chapter 23 was frightening, but that is just part of the fun (she says now that it ended).
1:30 pm on January 11th, 2014
T&G: Congrats to you and yours for another extension in your extended family. Lovely old name and good for a force to be reckoned with!
1:38 pm on January 11th, 2014
We had to go look for that elephant video. It made Mom and Pop cry too.
http://youtu.be/28E2EKBlr0k
1:48 pm on January 11th, 2014
The Old Fart loaned his truck to the “middle monster” for the weekend 🙁 Turns out we are being looked after. BIG thunderstorm last night but sunny and 60 since noon. Dogs just went racing out, barking and carrying on. A 12 foot limb the size of mom’s leg was scattered around where the truck would have been parked. All creatures, vehicles, house ok 🙂 Thank Dog.
1:53 pm on January 11th, 2014
I thought that Chapter was excellent and scary. My favorite scene in all the books? When Chet goes into Iggy’s house. Excellent and down right hilarious!
Macy, your Ma’s and Pa’s dinner looks great. Is the frame made of Spam? Maybe they will give you a piece for dessert.
2:05 pm on January 11th, 2014
Warm here (supposed to reach 50) but rainy & windy…preparing for a possible power outage. HOH must have sent “their” storm our way.
Royals: Congratulations on the lovely new addition to your extended family!
2:06 pm on January 11th, 2014
Just because . . .

2:20 pm on January 11th, 2014
Min-Pin: Looks like “wanna” and “gonna” (contractions of want to and going to) are also actual words as verified by the American Heritage Dictionary.
B: What are your thoughts on the downhill turn our English language has taken (dare I even ask) and “ain’t it a shame? Of course, it goes without saying, the Plunder’s special lexicon is not included in any discussion on the subject.
2:23 pm on January 11th, 2014
Are those turtle cosies? Just think, someone had to have taken time to crochet those things.
Congrats on the new honorary grandbaby. Beautiful name. The old fashioned names are making a comeback.
2:25 pm on January 11th, 2014
We have Thunder in the Hilltowns! Mac is NOT pleased. So we have snow and ice on the ground, pouring rain and thunder.
Looked at the radar. O’Howlers and Rose must have had this. What about upper state NY?
2:30 pm on January 11th, 2014
We had to skip that chapter on the first run through. We went back later and read it again and again.
2:33 pm on January 11th, 2014
Welcome New Soul!
Maggie, I thought BelleStarr would like those.
I went for a 6 minute walk (inside), and then started some arm exercises (tummies). That is when the thunder started.
Here is how Mac dealt with it . . Snicker
2:34 pm on January 11th, 2014
Oh, and by the way, my boys will be on the Tricia show next Friday, January 17th.
“DNA Drama: Which twin is the father of my baby?” I feel like I do when I drive by a car accident. I can’t bear to look, but I can’t bear not to.
2:37 pm on January 11th, 2014
Love the turtle hats!
2:38 pm on January 11th, 2014
I think it is very brave of Mac to protect Zoe from that scary thunder noise!
2:39 pm on January 11th, 2014
Melanie, a very common newf position. Had that here about 3:30 this a.m. Mom tried to explain she wasn’t the pillow but don’t think Darah bought it and neither is Mac:)
2:55 pm on January 11th, 2014
Masquers: “Gonna”…”wanna”…. It’s the way we speak and as I’ve probably said before, we are lazy speakers and don’t always enunciate correctly. Dictionaries simply describe usage; they don’t prescribe rules. English is a “living” language and continues to change and the changes can be fascinating.
2:55 pm on January 11th, 2014
Melanie: Love the Photo of brave Mac Protecting Zoe from the Thunderstorm! All 150(?)lbs of him. How much does that guy weigh anyway?
Those fashion-conscious turtles are Ready for Spring. 🙂
2:59 pm on January 11th, 2014
BSD, perhaps the turtles are practicing to take the Easter Bunny’s place. Bring a whole new meaning to express delivery.
3:01 pm on January 11th, 2014
They think they have the fence fixed. I was a good boy while they were doing it. ok, They made me stay in the house while working on the fence.
Mom wants to know if she can borrow Mac…perfect, furry, quilt for a cold day. Mom wouldn’t mind any Newf drool.
wanna and gonna..tee hee…mom will have to stop correcting me when I use those words.
3:26 pm on January 11th, 2014
Wolfie: Your Mom is Right about the fascinating aspect of this type of thing. Next Friday? Thanks. We’ll be watching.
Hounds: Easter delivery. That’s Funny!
3:36 pm on January 11th, 2014
Thanks for the input, B. It is disappointing to learn our go-to place, the dictionary, is merely reporting usage not legitimizing. However, we do remember you telling us before that English is a living language. Do most languages follow this evolving pattern?
Siber: Curses! Foiled again.
3:38 pm on January 11th, 2014
The Furry!… Speaking of great books…snort!….One of my favorite scenes in the Furry was when Bernie was sitting in the boat reading the paper, quite innocently, while an almost nekkid lady was cooking breakfast and Suzi dropped in unexpectedly….heh!heh!heh!… The scene that followed of Bernie trying to explain and Suzi storming out was great. His car pooping out right at that moment was hilarious…chorkel!snort! …I loved it! Because Suzi is still not one of my favorites …grunt!
3:42 pm on January 11th, 2014
SiberH!…If you happen to get out of your yard, come on over here and play poker with me and ole Beau…snort!…We need some
extra cashentertainment…chorkel!Maskers!….Guess what came in the mail!?….Wooooo!….The first 4 episodes of the latest season of Damages!….Zow!…While we wait for SiberH to appear we are going to watch it right now!…snort!
3:54 pm on January 11th, 2014
Riö: Kool! We love that show.
Hey, look…the sun is out…dare we make a trip into town or will my mom hit another tree branch in the road?
3:57 pm on January 11th, 2014
Maskers!…You better drive!…snort!
4:05 pm on January 11th, 2014
Update! My Lady landed in anchorage last night. She didn’t sleep well. She had checked in with her one and only—surprisingly, she means the giant and not me— and will check back with youse all.
4:09 pm on January 11th, 2014
Siber-H and anyone interested.
GPS tracking for the Copper Basin 300.
http://trackleaders.com/copper14f.php
4:11 pm on January 11th, 2014
SiberH: I’m glad the fence is fixed even though you didn’t get to visit Rio. I think he’s been taking lessons in how to win at poker from Pancho and Lefty.
Takotna!
Shiek, Leo and the Equines Checkpoint. http://www.schooltube.com/video/d67e610822e4495c8935/Takotna,%20Alaska%20-%20Iditarod%202013,%20by%20Robb
4:16 pm on January 11th, 2014
Tensing: Can you sit on your lady when she gets home? Or does Melanie need to send Mac over?
Melanie: Does it not hurt when a Newf sits on you? Thank you for the Copper Basin 300 link. Great practice for the Iditarod!
4:17 pm on January 11th, 2014
Snowhook!….So are the Snowhook dawgs running in the Copper Basin 300 or not?…sniff!…I’m confused….grunt!
4:21 pm on January 11th, 2014
We are not running. Philip was going to, but his son appears to be making an entrance this WEEKEND.
Hmm, Mac weighs 150 pounds. He doesn’t exactly hurt if he’s just sitting on you, but the walking around on heavy paws can be a pain. snicker.
4:26 pm on January 11th, 2014
Dawson, newf pain is directly proportional to the location of their elbows!
4:34 pm on January 11th, 2014
No Snowhook team in the CB race this weekend. Our former handler was going to run in it, but he is no more. Luna and Savannah are boiling water and getting clean blankets for Phil’s litter of one—no judgement on only having one—in prep for the new pup.
4:41 pm on January 11th, 2014
Melanie&HOH: Thanks for clarifying. I cannot imagine that a 100+ pound Newf lying on top of me would be comfortable.
Hey! Snowhook did not run the Knik 200 (last weekend) either. That is a race that AJ has won before, I believe.
4:41 pm on January 11th, 2014
Melanie, Thanks for the link. I am going there now to see if anyone I “know” is racing.
Rio, Poker sounds like a great idea as long as you and Beau take credit cards.
4:44 pm on January 11th, 2014
SiberH!…Beau and I will take all the credit cards you want to give us…heh!heh!
4:47 pm on January 11th, 2014
Since Snowhook isn’t racing, I will cheer for Aliy.
That race takes place in a true basin…must be pretty scenery.
4:48 pm on January 11th, 2014
Zirkle!….That is who we are cheering for too…snort!snort!
4:53 pm on January 11th, 2014
Lights flickering!
4:55 pm on January 11th, 2014
Melanie–Thanks for asking–we all slept in the same room two nights running and still no bloodshed. You’re sounding/reading perky, which is a pleasure to hear/read
Everyone–Belated greetings, still catching up on the last two days’ information, so a late Happy Birthday to the lovely Darah. Still more photos of weird quasi-food items, which may prove a deterrent to binge eating (so I guess they’re a good thing). Enjoying the puns, catch up with y’all soon.
4:56 pm on January 11th, 2014
OK, this Mack in the picture–that’s a bear, right?
4:59 pm on January 11th, 2014
Diane!….That is Mac-The-Newf!…snort!
5:08 pm on January 11th, 2014
Newf= bear. The only difference is needs done hibernate like bears. Yeep!
5:12 pm on January 11th, 2014
And they have long tails 🙂
5:24 pm on January 11th, 2014
I think Tenzing meant to say Newfs don’t hibernate like bears. Must be that Otter correct. And Gus, my Newf, cousin is closer to 165-170.
5:34 pm on January 11th, 2014
Diane-C: Good to hear they are all Getting Along.
Rio: Mac-The-Newf! We Love that name.
Tenzing: So Happy our Pixie is Home!
5:40 pm on January 11th, 2014
The restrant (that is how it is spelled in simplified english, copyright pending 2014) is a recently opened place called Cisco Jack’s here in Bedford. After that we used our antique (we have had them for 3 years) movie tickets to see “Saving Mr. Banks”. Has anyone else seen it? Looooved it.
5:54 pm on January 11th, 2014
Well, not sure about the hibernating. Mac is doing a good imitation of it in this weather.
Diane, Newfs have black noses and bears have brown.
Unless its Darah. She likes to decorate her nose with mud!
Mac is not a great big guy. But, if you ask him? He has swagger!
6:07 pm on January 11th, 2014
Swagger! The Giant has swagger, too even if he denies it. He must be part newf.
Typos! Sometimes we put our words our there and just have to hope for the best.
My Lady is halfway home. She had to stop for two things—ice cream for the giant and new tennis balls for Elim. The latter put in a last minute request for the items. I hope for all our sakes the purchase order is approved.
6:16 pm on January 11th, 2014
Oh dear – Mama got a whole new box of sparkly things to make jewelry. We won’t see much of her for days. But we hear her over at her work table, quietly giggling to herself as she unpacks.
We think she is part ferret.
sigh
6:18 pm on January 11th, 2014
What was the animated character that like sparkly things?
6:19 pm on January 11th, 2014
Golinka: Sparkly things you say? I will be over before a Royal and fit and ship an Herb!
6:25 pm on January 11th, 2014
Ah yes, Jeremy the Crow in The Secret Of NIMH. He loves his sparkly.
6:47 pm on January 11th, 2014
Confession! I channeled my inner outlaw and destroyed Elim’s tennis balls n I may or may not do it again. Only time will tell.
7:10 pm on January 11th, 2014
And not ‘n.’. Gah! My lady better get home soon before these here typos get any further out of paw.
7:14 pm on January 11th, 2014
Gurgle….. Where is that damn arc? Gurge
It is so wet here, the ducks are looking for umbrellas.
Glad the pixie is home.
Glad macy’s mom and dad had a good date night.
It is movie day here. We watched White house Down. It was so exciting, our hearts are still racing. Then we all went outside, and Kat got lost in the fog. Mom and pop had to slog thru fields looking for her. We are all indoors now, and going to watch another movie it seems.
7:19 pm on January 11th, 2014
Belle Starr – happy to have you come and steal…ummm…bejewel yourself with some of the sparklies, but be careful; our Mama is tricky.
Remember we told you the other day that we are having a hard time with Callie taking her pills? We have tried cheese, liverwurst, potatoes, pill pockets etc. Tonight Mama cooked some chunks of parsnips. After dinner, she shoved Callie’s pills into some of the leftover chunks, and VIOLA – Callie gobbled ’em right down.
weird dog.

Parsnips? Really, Callie???
Shiek loves to hang out at Takotna, with his buddy Leo. He has led many a team back out onto the trail. But he is wondering, after seeing all of the dog food, where are they hiding the horse feed?

We have both White House Down and Saving Mrs. Banks in our Netflix Queue. Thank youse guys.

Walk!…Some of the sidewalks are free of ice and snow so someone thought it was a good idea to take us for a walk…grunt!…At least it was a relatively short walk given the state of the sidewalks and the wind….sniff!…I’m tired of walking. I don’t want to do it ever again..grump!…What the hell are Parse-nips?…sniff!
7:33 pm on January 11th, 2014
Shiek – it was so cold last week, Leo wore two blankets. Usually he tries to wiggle himself out of one. Maybe you and Leo can eat hay? Thanks for the Takotna video, Dawson.
Beau – neighbors are coming over to watch the Colts/Pats. If all else fails, there will be peanut butter M&Ms.
T&G – my girl was 8 weeks early, little but perfect and determined to be here, so we know Nadia will be just fine.

Beau, the game is tonight, as in right now.
Mom just made one of our favorite treats: Aller Potato Chip Dip. It’s easy peasy: take a block of cream cheese and squirt some catsup, milk and Worcestershire sauce on top and mix well. It sounds terrible but it is delish,

8:17 pm on January 11th, 2014
Welcome to the world, Nadia Ada!
Callie: Parsnips?!
T&G’s Mum: Ooooh! Sparkly things, eh?
It’s hockey night in Canada. The Blackhawks are playing against Montreal in Montreal. They haven’t beat Montreal in Montreal since 2001. The man who lives in this house is hopeful. I will probably go read a book before he starts yelling at the tv.
MacyMinPin: Glad you have a nice anniversary date and no blood was spilled, both of you still alive.
8:19 pm on January 11th, 2014

Our Lady finally made it home! Yark!
Wolfie: Chicks dog scars. However, we are happy to be your back up should a certain Dane of questionable greatness come calling again. Basically, our plan is the distract him while the Royals gnaw his ankles. That’ll teach him.
8:47 pm on January 11th, 2014
Hmm, I had something witty to say . . But it’s gone now.
I did better today. Tomorrow I will do a tad more.
But now? TTFN
8:51 pm on January 11th, 2014
Move!….Over Beau!…grunt!….Melanie, I am glad to hear you felt a little more energetic today…snort!…Imagine what you will be doing tomorrow?…sniff!….Maybe you will remember what you want to post…heh!heh!
8:55 pm on January 11th, 2014

SnowBella is home!
Melanie had a good day (but didn’t overdo it)!
9:43 pm on January 11th, 2014
SiberH!…Quick like a Pug check your SDD…heh!heh!…Maybe even quicker than that actually…sniff!
9:51 pm on January 11th, 2014
Snowbella – so glad you are home safe and sound. How are your cheeks?
Beau – enjoy the game.
Wolfie – if it has cream cheese, how can it go wrong?
We are saying goodnight, and dragging Mama away from her new sparkelies.
10:00 pm on January 11th, 2014
Stinky Mama: I will keep an eye on your sparkles while you sleep.
That damn pixie who stole my sparkle’s cheeks are back to normal. She still had a little pain on one side of her mouth, but other than that she is fine. The giant is going to take tomorrow off from training so they can spend time together before she heads back out on the road.
10:00 pm on January 11th, 2014
One last thing – new sparkly beads made into dragonflies.

10:02 pm on January 11th, 2014
Dawson!….Check your SDD as quick as a Canadian Can-Can…heh!snort!
10:05 pm on January 11th, 2014
Wow!
T&G: Did your mama make those earrings tonight?! They are beautiful. I am partial to dragonflies. They are my friends and they eat mosquitoes.
10:14 pm on January 11th, 2014
Beautiful earrings!
Melanie, get a good night’s sleep and be bright and bushy-tailed tomorrow morning.
Just watched a movie, Tiger Eyes, on Lifetime. Russell Mean’s final movie we think. His son, Tatanka Means, did a fine job in it. He is a good looking young man.
Good night and sweet dreams all.
10:22 pm on January 11th, 2014
Wolfie, I don’t know if Dawson remembers our Dad making that ‘dip’. We loved it. Well, I loved it. We used it with potato chips. Yummers.
OOo sparkly bling. I love those earrings. The doctors told me I couldn’t keep my pierced ears when I got my transplant so I no longer can play with nice earrings like that. sniff. I wonder if there is any chance of a blue or green pendant that I could hang on a silver chain being made? ((ahem)) As a future auction/boutique item of course. (hint)
Melanie I know what you are talking about with the tired stuff. I was just getting over the cold when I started getting shooting pains in my scalp. I am pretty sure it is neuralgia. I get it about 2 or 3 times a year, and only lasts about 3 days. I can control it fairly well with tylenol but this time it seems very unrelenting. whine whimper sniff. So I have been taking naps quite often the last few days.
I will be under the quilt again tonight.
10:27 pm on January 11th, 2014
Staff: There you are! I thought you’d never get here. Signed, your pillow ing training.
Golinka does beautiful work. Case closed.
10:31 pm on January 11th, 2014
Earrings!….Those earrings are nice, but I would rather have a tailring…sniff!…Not really. Leave my tail alone.
10:43 pm on January 11th, 2014
Rio – your tail is already perfection. A tail ring would just be gilding the lily.
10:44 pm on January 11th, 2014
I didn’t know you couldn’t have pieced ears if you have had a transplant–learn something everyday on this here blog. My ears are so sensitive I have to wear the 14 carot earrings so I miss out on a lot of great (and affordable) earrings.
Happy healing sleep to all who need it
10:51 pm on January 11th, 2014
CHobbit!…Do your little furry feet have a nice California tan by now?…snorkel!
10:54 pm on January 11th, 2014
So many earring things to know. Mom had an earring fall out at the lake walking the gogs but found all the pieces. She is now afraid to wear them in AK…Freeze? What???
10:58 pm on January 11th, 2014
Forgot to thank Rose for her love and support. She is a great blog sister! Melanie, glad you are doing better. Still laughing at Mac sitting on Zoe. Diane C. No bloodshed is a GOOD thing.
Wolfie, your family is not the only crazy one out there. Know you are loved!
NIghty night.
11:13 pm on January 11th, 2014
One thing I remember from wearing my earrings is that metal earrings are freezing cold when you wear them in the winter. And I mean it. Just ask Snowbella!
11:46 pm on January 11th, 2014
Beau – best to your team tomorrow.
xoxo from Blue Kitty Kat
T&G – very beautiful, sparkly earrings, nice lever-backs…
Happy Early Egg Day to Everybody.
12:15 am on January 12th, 2014
I have been trying to book my flight all evening. Excuse me while I throw myself off a bridge..
12:34 am on January 12th, 2014
Macy – noooooooo!
Take a deep breath. Try again. Alaska is waiting.
12:59 am on January 12th, 2014
Trying to use Aadvantage miles is even worse than flying standby, and I did not think that was possible. If I was willing to fork over 50 bucks they would do it for me, but that is not going to happen. I have spent this entire snizzlefritzing evening on this. one. ticket. And then I have to start all over for my mom to use her miles. I used to hope we would be sitting together. Now I’m not even sure we will be on the same flight. sigh……….
2:35 am on January 12th, 2014
Nope, after I got my ticket the flight disappeared. poof
9:47 am on January 12th, 2014
B. Stover–Does “evolving” include things like “I don’t know” pronounced “Ow no” and “woman” mutating into “wolman” in country songs?
P and L–Yay! Enjoy having her back.

My brother suggested I would possibly like this website. He used to be totally right. This post actually made my day. You can not believe simply how so much time I had spent for this info! Thanks!
