Gooood morning, everyone! Hope work, fairs. family and friends are kind to all today. Hope all still under the quilt are healing.

If we had ever surf like Chet we’d say, “Have a totally tubular Tuesday, dude!”

CHobbit: Wow! You predicted the Sunny story last night! You are either 1) Very good, 2) Psycho….er…psychic or 3) On top of the pulse of the nation within.

    Good morning all.

The pretty lady is not Mom. These pups are 20 months old, from Juneau. Their dad was 150 pounds and mom 145 pounds – bigger than Chet.

BlueKat, such excellent pictures. The Pack is drooling to go to Alaska.

Today? Peaches, acupuncture, peaches and peaches.

Suny is just over 1 year old. Wonder where she has been up till now. We like Bo’s coloring better with the white chest and paws.

Staff is going to have a busy day today. Visiting a birder, visiting Sharon the massage therapist and quilting quilting quilting till late.

Love BlueKats photos. Especially the tail.

Hope Melanie has some fun with the peaches. I have one lug in the fridge. Maybe tomorrow.

Amalia, I have a crick in my neck but the booth looks great. You have rings! I didn’t know you had rings. We should ‘talk’.

  15. Macy's mom
    11:22 am on August 20th, 2013

OMD! Amalia, did you guys make all that with your own four hands? That is beeyootiful! I have looked at a lot of handmade
jewelry and I have never seen better. Plus the clay work..If I leave now I could get there by…next week. Drat.

    Bluekat, so envious are we.

Quilt dwellers, nose bumps all around, from Macy, not me.

The annoying neighbor is being kicked to the curb today, literally. The constable arrived at 9 am to clear the house. Before he arrived I got three quilts and a vintage kitchen stool, the kind where the step folds up under the seat. The quilts are in the wash now. That house REEKED. I feel so bad for his mom who always kept everything so nice. At least she didn’t have to see it, since her guardian had her put in a “home”. Oy vey, the drama.

With apologies to Sharon’s Hounds…We know it’s not Wow Wednesday, but WOW.

Amalia & Leonard’s booth with the Fantabulous Wares…we cannot believe the beautiful items…wish we were there. Sigh.
Thank you for the video and we just KNOW you will have over-the-top sales!

BlueCat: The Photos are Wonderful! Our Favorite here is the Reflections in Still Waters.

Nice Way to Start the Day!

Those Portuguese Water Dogs are good-funny looking dogs. I’m glad Bo has some dog companionship.

BlueCat: I love your pictures. They are not boring. Those are some XXL large Huskies. The whale tail is excellent. The scenery up there is awe inspiring.

Melanie: Thank dog there is that small break from peaches, otherwise the day could get repetitious.

Amalia & Storyteller: Great luck at the show. I can’t see the picture of the booth but I know it is filled with wonderful items.

  18. Barb & Maggie
    11:37 am on August 20th, 2013

We couldn’t see the booth picture either, but good close-ups of the jewelry. We want to know if you made most of it too. Beautiful!

Barb used to can peaches, but not for years. Is that what you do Melanie, or do you freeze?

Barb is heading out. Meeting oldest kid to have lunch and see a movie. Going to see The Butler. Glad we decided against it on Sunday, since it was #1 at the box office, and first weekend out. Today at noon might be much better. Has anyone seen it yet?

    Good Morning All

Those are Giant sized Huskies in Bluekat’s picture. They could pass for Sibers if they were smaller. Bluekat, Thanks for the photos. You are not boring us.

I can’t see the picture of te Royals’ booth either. We wish we could be there in person to visit it.

Elmore Leonard died. He was 87.

Siber! Oh, no…Elmore Leonard! He was a favorite author around here. Justified is based on one of his stories. Fire in the Hole!

I had no idea Huskies weighed that much. No wonder these Iditarod teams are slower than the smaller dogs.

BSD: No apologies for weekday alliterations, we love ’em.
Amalia: OMDawg! your booth! Mom used to schlepp her friend’s homemade soaps, potions and lotions to fairs for her so she knows how much work you have to set up that beautiful; booth. Your product is over the top too šŸ™‚

  22. Herd of Hounds

CHobbit: HOH has it right…Chet’s story of today was most certainly a follow up to the reference of yesterday by you, you, you.

Macy’s Mom: You scored some kool stuff from the neighbor’s house…he that was kicked to the curb. It is very sad about the mom who was sent to “one of those places” to live out her days.

Ver – i = son has decided to be slow today. I am still downloading Golinka and Storyteller’s booth.

I am thinking about taking my walk, then on to a nap . . Peaches can wait.

    Oh, and I’m freezing them.

I got eggs from my acupuncturist’s chickens. They are excellent eggs.

HOH: I try to be more psychic than psycho but some days are a toss up. Actually my friends do think I have psychic tendencies. It was much more prevalent when I was a child/teenager. My teens were rather bizarre.

I always enjoy news about the nation within.

  29. Herd of Hounds

About Eggs. We just read an article about the Different Kinds of Eggs sold. Had always thought Organic & Free-Range were okay, but it turns out Only Pastured are Safe.
The O’Howlers are ahead of the game.

Melanie: Freezing the Peaches better than slaving over a hot stove in our opinion. Memories of peach canning days in our youth can still send shudders up the spine. Then too, it always seemed an Opportune Time for company (usually picky relatives) to drop in unexpectedly. Gah.

    3:44 pm on August 20th, 2013

Sharon, yep that is it, except ours is not quite that nice, but some new feet and a little soap and water and it will be allowed in the house. I have washed two of the quilts, one more to go.

Said neighbor is now sitting out in the driveway, guarding the “treasures” on the curb from pickers. It is 95 degrees and he can’t go in the house because the cops changed the locks. There is a 70’s vintage TV and a bunch of trash. I went through a lot of it and pulled out the recyclables, but we are out of bins (and energy).

    4:37 pm on August 20th, 2013

Whew – little break in the show day while folks go home for dinner. Then it will get busy again later.

These are 14 hour days, so we will be doing nothing but show, get to hotel, shower and sleep. And repeat for 5 more days.

Macy’s Mom – so very glad the NFH is going going gone. And happy that you rescued some treasures.

So far we have resisted the siren call of fried pickles. We decided to stick with the plain old hamburg, hot dog stands for lunch, and the Greek salad place for dinner. And the gourmet bakery for the heck of it.
Did you know that you can actually hear the little tiny voices of chocolate chips when they call you?

  34. c.hobbit
    4:54 pm on August 20th, 2013

Tupper’s Mama: I walk really fast down the aisle that has chocolate chips. Sometimes I succumb to their siren call.

Meeting with the vet today with Sadie to discuss medicine. I think they wanted an appointment so they can bill me instead of just talking to me on the phone. Vet tech suggested a calming cap (made by the Thundershirt company). Anyone have an opinion?

Barb is back home from lunch and the movies. They split a fajita combo of chicken/steak/shrimp, rice and beans and the trimmings. To drink, mango ice tea. The Butler is excellent, but take a tissue ot two. Forrest Whittaker and Oprah do a great job as well as many other actors who were cast as political characters.

C.Hobbit: Between the ThunderShirt, ThunderCap and Rescue Remedy there has to be an answer. About the time you get all this Paraphernalia for Sadie the Long Trips will be over.

    C. Hobbit had another dog. I don’t know if that dog was a calming influence. Now what she needs is an older Newf. THAT is a calming influence.

Chocolate. Since Zoƫ discovered her blood iron level was low AND that chocolate has iron in it, there has been no stopping her. She makes an excellent chocolate chocolate brownie.

So my vet and I went over all the medicines that have been tried this summer including both the prescription and over-the-counter drugs for humans and dogs. All belong to different families of drugs. So what she recommended was something really different: Trazodone. I started laughing because it is what I take at night to sleep. If I don’t take it, I don’t sleep. So Sadie and I will be sharing drugs at least on travel days.

Rio…Years ago when I was in the hospital overnight I mentioned that I couldn’t sleep without Trazodone. For some reason they didn’t believe me since I was on pain meds from surgery. Sure enough, every aide that came in all night long to check my stats got a hello from me. I have tried a few times decreasing the dosage by half without success. Maybe now that I am retired, I could someday try not taking it for a week and see what happens.

I would like to see CHobbit in a ThunderShirt and cap…

Today I got to release a Sphinx Moth. It stayed on my finger for a long time and then…flew into the meadow. Here is a picture. It was hot hot hot here today. We are finally getting our hot weather and the farmers are not happy because we haven’t had rain for weeks.

Everyone was having problems at the quilt shop tonight. Machines were behaving badly and blocks were being sewn backwards and upside down. We didn’t have enough seam rippers. We couldn’t figure out what was wrong. We decided it was that moon.
