From Downeast Dog News

I never thought I’d love a book told from a dog’s point of view, but true love it is. Spencer Quinn, a writer from Cape Cod, has written a detective novel series featuring the sassy mutt Chet, and his owner Bernie Little. The pair live and work as private detectives in the desert of southern California.  The first in his Bernie and Chet series is Dog On It, completely believable as detective fiction and a fun read, the type of book you can read in the doctor’s office or if you’re a chronic insomniac, at four a.m. No matter what cares or woes you may have, you’ll put the book down smiling after each reading session. – Kate Cone

“Why Fred Astaire?” Spence says.

“We had a top hat yesterday,” says Admin.

“Are we going to have top hats every day?”

“Thinking about it. What would life be like if everyone wore top hats?”

Welcome Nero, Nani & Buddy.

Good morning! Maybe we are just in a nitpicking mood, but…
    Chet, sassy?
    Chet has an “owner”?
    Southern California?
And of course, there is “good read”. heh heh heh

Admin . . YSAS would love to wear a top hat. OTAS, not so much.

I have always loved to watch Fred Astaire AND Gene Kelly. I don’t think we would see Gene in a top hat though.

Good Morning All! Nice review. (“a fun read” . . Arggg)

Today is going to the lawyer’s once again. On the up side LUNCH at the Indian restaurant. Hmmm, I know where it is but I can’t remember it’s name. I should look at the sign.

YSAS is a member of a FBI geek squad today. I hope they let him wear his geek glasses.

Good Morning! Mom and Dad are waiting for radiation treatment #3 then hopefully Dr will come in and say “go home”!! Can’t wait for life to get back to normal so Mom can get pics sent to Melanie and figure out if she can sponsor a checkpoint. Extended hospital stays make you feel bad!

A charming review except for one thing…Southern California?
Make that two things…Stover is upset about “read”.

Gus&BooBear, I hope you guys get back home today. Hospitals are hard on both patients and family. Hugs

Wonderful idea…A checkpoint in honor of Native American Veterans, especially the Code Talkers. I told mom we WILL donate since we are proud to say the code talkers are from the Navajo Tribe. One of us, Leonard, is also a Native American Veteran.

Terry – our Dad was honored to meet that Codetalker. He was one of the “first class” – that is the very first group of kids selected to try this big experiment. And he loves big cups of Dr Pepper, with lots of ice.

I skimmed the review but enjoyed the Plunderer’s reviews of the review much more than the review.

🙂 It’s a good morning when there are pledges in the inbox. SiberH’s Iditarod checkpoint and Rio’s Koyuk (shudder) checkpoint are now well over the $200 mark and loping towards being fully funded. The Native American Veterans/Navaho Code Talkers has already received donations and will fill up fast.

We here are ready for snow. Now that Barb is her nice little safehouse she doesn’t mind the snow and wind. It used to drift so badly out in the country that she was afraid I could walk over the picket fence. No worries here. It is supposed to be in the 50’s here for the next week, so snow is unlikely. Could reach 60 on Turkey Day.

We haven’t done our donations yet, so please remind me. I know we send the check to Rebecca, but where do we tell Dawson where we want it to get applied? I don’t think we have her email, but we do have her detective sister’s address.

He will continue radiation and oral chemo on an outpatient basis, but will have to go back in the hospital the first week in December for the 2nd intraarterial chemo treatment. Don’t think they will be quite as freaked now that they know what to expect.

Rio: I think that SO stands for significant other. In that Harry Potter film, Harry wants to hear what Draco is saying to his friends and puts on the invisibility cloak and hides above Draco’s seat. He thinks that Draco has joined the death eaters. Draco knows Harry is up there and after everyone gets off the train he knocks Harry down on the ground and petrifies him and then stomps on his face. That’s how his nose got broken. Draco leaves saying he hopes Harry has a good journey back to London and throws the cloak over him. Luna finds him because she’s wearing special glasses and can see “rackspurs” floating around his head. She unpetrifies him and they walk to school.

My two-legged is tired. She has a had a long couple of weeks and very busy days at work. She pulled an all-nighter last night to squeeze a project in, slept for a couple of hours as then wet back into work. She said she hasn’t had time to respond to emails or play on this here blog. She says no Plunderers make her go something, something. On the bright side, when she achieves the combination of busy and tired, I get away with a lot more.

We say, if these people want to refinish furniture, they can do it whenever they want.
