Hi everyone. It’s a cold, rainy, icky day here. Since Mama can’t work on her bear, and she is at the “waiting” stage with her clay – she is doing ( dum da da dummmm) her paperwork stuff. Yuck. She has to get hotel rooms for all their upcoming shows and schedule plains, trains and automobiles.

Score! Mama got a beautiful hotel on Cape Cod, right next to their show, right on the water. She got a suite with bedroom, living room, kitchenette, on the first floor.
For $110.00 a night! (decent hotels in the area usually start at about $179 a night and good hotels are about $249.00)

Wolfie, that is a sad story about Chad’s friend. I mentioned this before, but Barb has a cousin raised in a super conservative, religious home who got 5 years for operating a meth lab in the old family homestead (been in the family since mid 1800s). He got arrested over the years for minor offenses, but kept the same bad-news friends. Hopefully when he gets out soon he will be a changed person. His dad has emotionally supported him thru all the years in prison.

Mama crashed her big computer with all the travel sites, hotel sites and coupon sites all up at the same time. The poor old dinosaur computer just wheezed and seized and freezed (sorry Bee – but it does rhyme) So now she has to reboot and set the poor old thing up again – and this time not do more than two sites at once.
We have everything that we can cross all crossed for Barb’s showing. She has such a pretty little farmhouse, we can’t imagine why no one has scooped it up yet.

Hey you guys, BFF is a very common acronym. Everyone knows that is best friends forever. People are always saying they are BFFs. So there.
House showing went very well, realtor said the house is charming and the lady loved it. Guess the couple is going to talk over the weekend and get back to the realtor Monday. Even if it is a no go, the realtor liked it, so she would be more likly to show it again to another client.

thanks for mentioning earth hour Terry. I don’t know how much we can do with my parents needing every bit of light they can have to see. Both are legally blind. But we can turn off all the ones we don’t usually use.
AND! I will take the ice ball out of the downstairs freezer and put it out in the front with a candle in it. Dawson and I were going to make lots of ice luminaries this winter but it never was cold enough long enough to make them. A very weird winter for Minnesota.

That picture is of the sled dogs that are with a Wilderness adventure group here in the Hills. They are well behaved and cute as buttons! They also like us because we smell great. In fact, most dogs follow us around because the two legged part of the pack smell like the four legged part of the pack.
Steve: I am really glad that my guys never got a ferret. We had turtles, hurt birds, cats, dogs, iguanas, fish and and and … but no snakes or ferrets!

Oley, You are right about the country homes. When Barb bought this place 7 yrs ago, everyone wanted the little 5-acre farmette with the classic farmhouse. Now, the 2nd-home market has dried up and the retirees are waiting longer to retire, so this place is a harder sell.

Rio, We are not going to cancel it right now. We only have one credit card. Mom says we are taking a wait and see what happens attitude about this. I know we would not be responsible for any unauthorized charges on it, but it would still be a hassle to deal with. These security breaches are getting tiresome.
We would have immediately closed out our account in one bank that was threatening to add a monthly charge for using the debit card, but that bank backed away from that idea.

As fas as I can find, the stolen data was the info on the magnetic stripe. That means someone could make a card like yours. You need to check your accounts every day or so and be on the alert for a very small charge, usually under a dollar. The thieves do that to make sure they have it right, then they make a big hit. If that happens, you call the credit card company and they immediately cancel the card and send you a new one.
If it turns out that more data was stolen than what was on the magnetic stripe, then it’s time to put a freeze on your credit reports. That is a must!

We’ve seen those little amounts show up on our cards – first a small withdrawal, then sometimes a small deposit and then WHAMO! you get his with a huge bill. That only happened to us once – after that, we learned to check a LOT…and our bank is really good about notifying us anytime our cards are in jeopardy.
And, you aren’t responsible for fraudulent charges in a case like this hacking either.
