    Greetings!

    Good morning Bear!

Who is a big boy? River! I hope you had a very happy birthday! (whispering) I hope ice cream cake was involved.

I can not believe how quickly this year is passing. Is it just me who feels this way?

ML: When I worked at the A&P for two weeks, I found it difficult to stand for 4 hours every day. My first job was at a supermarket deli as well, but it didn’t seem to bother me as much. Of course, I was 17 then. :^) I agree with B,M,&L…I think you are suited to work in a Hallmark store. As for shoes, I always buy them for comfort, not for good looks.

Yay! I am so happy for Gramps and Callie!

Dawson: Sorry to hear about your friends. I hope you calendar is waiting in the mailbox for you today, or I will be in a very bad mood, and may have to grab a pant leg when I go to the post office…Grrrr.

As for tonight’s Mets game…I think I will just watch Billy Joel sing the National Anthem and then catch up on some sleep. The Mets really do need a miracle to win 4 games…

    Love today’s GOOGLE doodle!

I have a follow-up appointment with the neurologist today. I am having an EMG of my right hand done, since I have been experiencing weakness and numbness in that hand. Problematic since I am right handed.

May everyone create a good day!

Happy Friday morning to you all. We have the most brilliant, beautiful fall day here, with azure skies, colorful leaves and enough chill in the air to make it sweater weather. It may be the perfect day to go hit the farm stands for fall produce – roasted squash, carrots, turnips, parsnips and Brussel sprouts – what could be better?

Good morning all! Tupper’s Mama has a good idea. Really an autumn day here too. Cool and crisp and NO rain ???? That means the crew is cutting and pounding and constructing. Wowser!
    Have a fine Friday.

Here in North Dakota I have watched large flocks of geese flying noisily over the farmhouse. Headed north for some reason. I think the cold weather has something to do with it…

    River! So cute.

ML Comfy shews? Try SAS shews. Made in the US and they are the only ones I can wear. Butt ugly???? Well…They have a new style that I like more than the freetime style that I have been wearing for 10 years. (I have bad feet) They do have quite a few nice styles though. I just can’t wear those cute ones.

I have a question for the blog. I have been thinking about going to Windows 10. Has anyone done it? I have two questions. What OS did you upgrade from and was it easy or hard to adjust?

I have one Windows 7 with a regular screen and my surface with the touch screen (I LOVE the touch screen)

Well I got all upset for no reason. The comment is being moderated. Probably because I put in a link to the shew company and they spelled it with an oe instead of with a ew…grump. So I fixed the geese in the right direction…

T & G, The fall veggies sound so good! I also like sweet potatoes. I have heard that the carnival squash is really good. Have you tried one of those?

I have Windows 8 and keep seeing the free upgrade to Windows 10, but have not done it so far.

Wose, good luck with the docs. Do they think the weakness in your hand is connected to the treatments you took?

B,M,&L: Thanks. I am not sure if there is any connection between my hand and the lightning bolts. Hopefully, the neurologist will have my MRI results by now, and perhaps it can be determined with some certainty that the lightning bolts may have caused some damage to my memory. That is my theory, and the neurologist seemed to agree with me on that.

I hope Lily is doing well.

Staff – we reluctantly switched to Windows 10 based on the sage advice from Wookie and Teddy’s Dad. We have been much happier with it that we were with the %&&#!$%~@* Windows 9.

Wose – Tupper is doing much better these days. Although she would never tell you, being such a lady as she is, she is now 12 years old, and with that venerable age comes some twinges and soreness. But she is very happy, and content, especially when she gets rides up and down the stairs.

ML – we highly recommend clogs for comfort. The good brands are a tad expensive at the onset, but they hold up forever. We recommend the Sanita brand – they have cute styles such as patent leather, or silver brocade. Saucony is another good brand. And even Walmart carries some kinds of clogs – more economical to try for comfort.

Barb – we have had Carnival Squash – there really isn’t all that much difference in the flavors of most winter squash. Carnival and acorn taste the same to us.

Royal Mum: I am glad to hear that Tupper is back on the road to tip-top. I can relate to the twinges and soreness. Hhmm…I wonder if I can get Grizz to carry me up and down the stairs.

ML: Agreeing with the Royal Mum on the clogs. I have loved and worn them since I was a teenager.

So, the neurologist tells me I still have a brain in my pointy head. As far as the MRI shows, there is no evident damage to my brain. The MRI did show that I have a few arthritic discs in my neck which is normal for a 56 year old woman. Fortunately, none of these discs are pinching any nerves. The EMG was also normal. No difference in the strength of my left and right arm and hand. Had a disc been pinching a nerve that led to my arm, it may have caused some numbness and/or tingling.

My next step is taking a neuropsychological test, which I have scheduled for mid-November. Taking this test may help to determine what part(s)of my brain may not be functioning normally.

Watching the news I saw the terrible flooding going on in Texas. Those of youse in that area, please stay safe.

Grizz and I are planning to see “The Martian” on the IMAX 3D screen tomorrow. First show is at 11:50AM…So I really will only be watching Billy Joel, and then off to my soft, warm bed.

Our intel shows us that the move from Mother’s house to Rio’s what’s-old-is-new-again house began today. Rio has been supervising his Friend, but Beau has been anxious what with all the boxes and packing. Watching Friend pack up the treatie cupboard sent poor Beau into a tail spin of anxiety, snorting and gas. We marked Beau’s side ‘Fragile.’ We also marked ‘this end up’ with an arrow pointing to his tail on Rio’s side. It was the least we could do to help with the move. If Luna has taught up anything is that we all have to do our part.

You go thieves and keep giving Rio and Beau support. Moving is a pain in the patootie. Wose, enjoy the moo vee. Oops, we are being silly. The DDD’s oldest boy is here tomorrow with his new lady. (G son approved). The DDD’s b-day should be fun…mom has a costume that reflects her inner being! Nighty night.

MPM: We can report that Mother has been completely uncooperative with the big move. When we tried to mark her ‘heavy’ so the movers would know to lift with their knees and and not their backs, she refused to stay still. On an unrelated note, we spent the afternoon in Mother Jail.

Thieves, that is no way to treat the help!
Staff, do you know what SAS stands for? We have been to the place they are made. I have a pair of brown ones that don’t go with my black pants I wear every day and a pair of sandals that I have had forever, worn through floods, but they just keep on hanging in there.
Macy seems to be doing well, except that she bit me this morning. I think it was her way of telling me that she didn’t want to be messed with before she had her pain meds. I have to put her in the shower and spray her sutures with warm water to increase the blood flow to that area. She is not impressed with the procedure. I feel bad for her having to be penned up, because we have had a lot of thunder and lightning tonight and the other two have been sticking close to my side.
