Happy Egg Day! It’s a Great Day for the Irish.
Storm cleanup is our plan for today, if the wind finally dies down enough to burn all those branches.
8:04 am on November 4th, 2012
Howlers – thought about you last evening as we watched another ND 4+ hour game. Wow!!! There’s magic in the air up there…
Happy Sunday all and a good week ahead. Remember to vote early and vote often. 🙂

Oh, snigglefritz. The article was great, but they messed up the last line. I was waiting for it, anticipating it, but no . . the author didn’t have the nose to do it. The last line should have been . . “a sniff too far.”
Good morning All!
Have to cut the asparagus bed today and put it to sleep for winter.
8:31 am on November 4th, 2012
Yay for Franky! Interesting issue there, whether Franky’s sniffing is an illegal search. Either way, what a great K-9 officer! Good job. Bet Franky would be a good fella to go out for a cruller with after work, you know? Park cop-style, maybe share a bear claw.
8:36 am on November 4th, 2012
Hello Sanny, The Pack is now hungry with all this talk of crullers and bear claws and eggs.
The Pack would be great K- 9 cops. They could sit on the ones that the fast K-9 cops grab by the pant leg. Believe me when I say if one of the Newf Pack sits on you, you don’t get up.
To sniff or not to sniff is not the question! It is “Where to sniff and where not to shiff?”
Do you think the Supremes ever had to stay “sniff” as much as they did during that hearing?
8:39 am on November 4th, 2012
Finally some New England Hilltown weather: Note the small print . .

9:05 am on November 4th, 2012
Hi Sany! We wouldn’t mind sharing a bear claw with Franky. Not one bit.
9:38 am on November 4th, 2012
Good morning all.
9:57 am on November 4th, 2012
I am remembering Sundays with Ingrid and Elvis on the radio.
I am also wondering if Sanny is really Sammy the Princess?
Maggie had an egg this morning also. (I had oatmeal)
10:03 am on November 4th, 2012
The Pack as cops? We think not. They are way to happy and friendly. Not to mention susceptible to bribery by bearclaw
Good morning all
10:21 am on November 4th, 2012
Greetings!
I would like to thank Oleys and Bella for their words of comfort for my friend Zelda. She is actually up top right now. I know her mom and pop are devastated, as the Prof and I are.
Melanie: I think one of your posts has an excellent title for the next C&B book. Check your SDD…..
10:24 am on November 4th, 2012
Hey Royals, think again . .
A not-perp tried to get into the house and they surrounded him barking madly with their drool splattering everywhere. Rose came and got me.
The man was petrified! (and wet)
He had wanted to get my attention to use the phone to call in an accident.
He might have had an accident before I let him back out the door. Bet he doesn’t go into strange houses anymore. And I checked. There was an accident and it was a bad one. A car went off the road and down the embankment near us.
10:26 am on November 4th, 2012
Rose! That is a good one. Send it in . . You’re the one who thought of it as a title.
10:26 am on November 4th, 2012
Titles!…I am going to spend the entire day thinking of the perfect title to the next Chet n’ Bernie adventure down south…snort!….Right after I have some Bacon!! for breakfast!….Woooo!
10:27 am on November 4th, 2012
Rose!…Oh no!…sniff!…Sounds like Rose beat me to it…crap!
10:31 am on November 4th, 2012
We are having egg and potato and sausage fritatta. No idea what that is, but it sure smells good.
10:48 am on November 4th, 2012
Frankie is one good looking dog. I do like chocolate colored dogs.
Hi Sanny: (not Sammy) If that was Sammy the post would’ve been about Sammy, not Frankie.
Rose: I am so sorry to hear about Zelda. I know you and the Prof will miss her mightily. I’ve seen Zelda up top several times and she always makes me smile. Sob.
Titles: I have sent no titles in (to Spence). Twice I have written several possibilities down on a scrap of paper and then put it somewhere (never to be seen again).
Melanie: That poor man! Heh, heh, heh.
I’m going to have an egg or two.
10:50 am on November 4th, 2012
Wose: So sorry to hear the news about your beloved Gentle Giant. I know Zelda was greeted by family and friends old and new on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Going back to check on that book title Melanie unknowingly came up with.
Staff: Great Minds and all that…my thoughts exactly: Sundays with Ingrid and Elvis Gospel…these things are missed.
Youse are making me hungry! With this Time Change Thingy we are discombobulated once again…waking up at the usual time which was an hour earlier. Anyhoo…it’s Time to Break Fast.
BBL
11:10 am on November 4th, 2012
Oleys: I’m sure you will love your breakfast. It is delish!
Melanie: I can be called many things, but not a thief of ideas. You deserve the credit on this one!
Rio! Bacon! Yummmmmmmyyyyyy!
Awesome Dawson, thanks for your kind words. When the Prof and I go to the Wildflower Cottage next, Zelda will be sorely missed. I hope you are feeling tip-top soon.
My wise and wonderful Bear, thank you so much for your words. I think Zelda has already met my awesome kat, Kelly, and told him I knew your mom, and she was a lovely person. I’m sure Kelly and Zelda are now fast friends.
11:23 am on November 4th, 2012
Zelda went to Nome last year with the team, too. You would think a horse, a pack of Newfs and a big dog like Zelda would weigh the team down, but they were quick of paw and as light as paper. 🙂
11:50 am on November 4th, 2012
Good morning all. Sunny and quiet in northern Illinois today.
Wose, so sorry to hear about Zelda. She was well loved.
No eggs here this morning, but a turkey burger is coming up soon. Yum!
11:51 am on November 4th, 2012
Wose – maybe a different Zelda will find his/her way to the Wildflower Cottage. Animals needing a home can show up when least expected.
OMD. We got up at 6, which was really 7, and now it’s not even noon, which is really 1 PM and it feels like midnight. Does that mean we can eat many meals today?
11:54 am on November 4th, 2012
The courts should just let the dogs do their jobs. We know what we are doing. Well, not my tribe…we don’t do police work, but that is a story for another time.
Wose, We are so sorry about Zelda. It always hurts so much to lose a friend like that.
12:01 pm on November 4th, 2012
Rio!!!
The program, Mythbusters, on the Discovery Channel is doing an episode about Breaking Bad. They are just filming it now so no telling when it will be on tv. I will watch for more information about it.
12:20 pm on November 4th, 2012
Siber: Heh, Heh. Are you sure that isn’t Methbusters?
12:25 pm on November 4th, 2012
Okay, Wose. Sent!
I need to go outside. I notice that I’m not doing that yet.
12:32 pm on November 4th, 2012
Masquers, Good One
12:33 pm on November 4th, 2012
This morning on The Today Show Lester Holt was being razzed because he didn’t set his clock back and actually came to work an hour early.
We just read Rio’s comment from last night about this being National Turkey Month. We just had our turkey burger and it was good! On a roll, topped with cheddar cheese, red onion and bar-b-que sauce. Delish!
1:20 pm on November 4th, 2012
B&M: I confess, if not for Sammie’s reminder last night, I too would have been caught unawares.
1:44 pm on November 4th, 2012
SiberH!!!…How interesting!…snort!…I wonder what Myth they will bust about Breaking Bad?…sniff!
1:45 pm on November 4th, 2012
Project!…My friend just finished The Project From Hell…grunt!…It was one of those projects where everything took 10 times longer to make and then framing it became a whole nuther nightmare…wheeze!
1:50 pm on November 4th, 2012
Golinka!…Please check your SDD…sneeze!
2:14 pm on November 4th, 2012
Rio, I believe it is something about dissolving a body in acid in the bathtub. I don’t know anymore than this.
2:49 pm on November 4th, 2012
Acid!….Awwww, that makes sense, I guess. But how in the world will they prove or disprove that?…yeep!
2:51 pm on November 4th, 2012
Gah!…Just thinking about that scene in the show where they are cleaning up the “mess” when it melted through the ceiling and hit the first floor….gah!gah!…It makes me queezy.
2:56 pm on November 4th, 2012
We started Christmas shopping yesterday. Got a few things purchased and ordered a couple of dvds on line this morning.
Rio’s comment about his friend’s project reminded Barb that she has to go to the basement and start “the hunt from hell”. Somewhere down there, in any one of 30 Christmas boxes, is the lovely framed quill piece that she bought before the move. It is a gift for one of our hardest to buy for and we must locate it.
3:10 pm on November 4th, 2012
We have good news andbad news.
The good news: Bella’s pizza tonight
The bad news: The rents are eating it there, and therefore…
We had a really big bonfire here. On the bonfire was the chopped up fallen tree, all the bzillion branches from the storm, hay from the feed room, and feed bags. All up in smoke (wasn’t that a movie?)
3:20 pm on November 4th, 2012
Rio, What I am wondering is where they are going to get the body to do the experiment with.
Fellow Sibers…pizza crust, doggie bags.
3:23 pm on November 4th, 2012
Body!…SiberH thats exactly what I was wondering…grunt!…There is no way they are going to do that bathtub through the ceiling thing…gah!
3:30 pm on November 4th, 2012
Howlers – a bonfire sounds like a great way to spend an autumn afternoon.
Mama and Dad set all the clocks last night, but they didn’t know how to reset our clocks. So, we got them up at the usual time. And tonight, we are planning to refuse to go to bed on time.
Mama had a pretty great afternoon too. She went to pick Gramp up after church, and on the way home went by a yard sale. They stopped in “just for a minute”, but the guy was selling the contents of a whole storage locker full of craft supplies. Mama came home, put on her “don’t care if they get grubby” clothes and went back to dig through mountains and hills of craft stuff.
She got some treasures, but as she was getting ready to leave, she looked up and there was a bald eagle circling overhead. She just sat and watched it for a half hour – sometimes it drifted down so far, she could see the individual tail feathers. After being mezmerized for a while, Mama finally remembered her manners and sent a greeting to the bird. She also asked it to take some messages and prayers up. Right after she did that, the eagle banked away, and flew off over the mountain.
Mama came home, but still kind of has her head in the clouds.
3:35 pm on November 4th, 2012
That eagle was obviously waiting for Amalia to send up the messages. I think it was wonderfully patient of it to wait while Amalia admired it first.
Thanks for the prayers. I know you put us plunderers in it also.
3:44 pm on November 4th, 2012
Magpie: Barb is always one of the earliest Christmas shoppers. We happen to know Someone (not mentioning names) who buys things throughout the year. Which is all well and good, IF those items can be found when needed. At least Barb has only to look through boxes appropriately labeled. And, she has a good excuse having just moved to the new house.
Amalia: Thank you for sending up the prayers with the Special Winged Messenger.
4:00 pm on November 4th, 2012
Amalia: Wow! How thrilling!
Rio and SiberH: Pigs have been used instead of humans in some cases where human bodies were obviously inappropriate. Poor pigs! I have seen only 2 BB shows and these were the two. I will never forget because I got my breakfast ready and then pressed the play button but…UGH!…gag reflex was activated, no breakfast happened. Choke!
4:05 pm on November 4th, 2012
Staff – your comment made us laugh. We had a mental image of an eagle clearing it’s throat repeatedly, and thinking “sheesh, what does an eagle have to DO around here to get noticed?”
4:10 pm on November 4th, 2012
Amalia, What a wonderful story. That just gave us chills and we almost got a little teary too. I know that eagle was just waiting for the prayers.
Bear, Barb started her holiday shopping with the reward certificates she got from Home Goods. Any purchases from TJ Maxx, Home Goods or Marshalls gives you a 5% reward. Barb was wondering how they could give you so much back, but then she looked at her TJX charge card. The interest rate is 26.99%! They encourage you to use it, but I bet many people end up not paying the whole amount at the end of the month. How can companies charge so much when interest rates at the bank are so low?
4:25 pm on November 4th, 2012
Hahahahahaha!
I’m watching a show called Fish Out of Water, about two urban Indians (one Cree, one Ojibway) who go to Churchill, Manitoba to a Meti guys trapline. They are trying to hook up the Huskies to a sled…oh my! one got away…funny! The Ojibway guy keeps telling us he knows what he is doing because he has a dog back in Ottawa…it’s a Sammie dog! Heh!
4:29 pm on November 4th, 2012
Thanks youse guys for your comforting words, about Zelda. It means so much!
Hi, Rio! Did you figure out the book title from Melanie’s post. I know you are a pretty smart dude.
Amalia, your encounter with the eagle sent a chill down my spine. Thank you for sending up prayers.
4:32 pm on November 4th, 2012
Bear, you are up top!
Oh, I forgot….CHobbit, I wanted to say that I love the book “The Time Travelers’s Wife.” I did not see the movie, though.
4:45 pm on November 4th, 2012
Rose!…All the titles I’ve sent in are really stupid…heh!heh!…There is only one I really like and I’m betting they won’t choose it…snort!
4:56 pm on November 4th, 2012
Riö: A smart pug like you…sending in stupid titles…sorry, but we here find that hard to believe.
On the other paw…a stupid title would be better than no title at all…which is what we sent.
5:11 pm on November 4th, 2012
Bad!…I was just re-reading them and they are pretty bleak Maskers….grunt!…I don’t know what I was thinking at the time…heh!
5:51 pm on November 4th, 2012
Siber-H and Riö, I can’t believe that Mythbusters won’t find some reason to blow something up. Maybe they’ll use Spam?
Good hunting Barb and MagPie.
BlueKat: You can eat as many meals as you want.
Dawson: Trying to find the movie. No Joy yet.
Next? A story . .
5:52 pm on November 4th, 2012
Barb, glad you found the quilling. We remember that piece and we loved it too. But there is no moving Dima. heh heh
Amalia, we feel so happy about your eagle encounter. We know that he was happy too, and eagerly awaited your message/prayer.
The rents changed their minds and decided to bring the pizza home for
me me meme !5:57 pm on November 4th, 2012
Grief is weird. At first I spent a lot of time doing things just to keep busy. Mindless things. Like cleaning the cabinets out.
Now I have gone to an absent mind. I’m just not remembering things. I can read the blog and laugh and think of things to write, then by the time I get to the end, can’t remember what I was going to write.
Thursday night I did not sleep. I did a lot of Friday (don’t remember what it was) and when I took our “go to” guy home at 2 pm, I took the long way around to see how our neighbor’s new building was going.
I then passed the big tree, parked the car, came in and rested. NOW, in my defense, since Sandy the second driveway is completely covered with leaves.
I looked outside and Zoe was looking at the car that was parked in the front yard. “I wonder why Zoe moved the car?” I thought. Then thought again.
I had parked the car on the front lawn. Well, at least (as my niece put it) it wasn’t in the living room.
Zoe prefers me cleaning things.
5:59 pm on November 4th, 2012
Oh, yeah, it’s the other way in where you pass the big tree and park the car in the driveway.
Sigh. OTAS laughed when I told him.
YSAS? Silence and then, “Sometimes I worry about you.” I told him I felt the same way about him.
6:04 pm on November 4th, 2012
I just wrote Yuji’s latest hurricane story on Dogster. Anybody else on Dogster??
6:18 pm on November 4th, 2012
Royals’ Mum – thank you. Your story gave us the good kind of cold chills.
Melanie – sending warm thoughts to you and Zoe and the Pack, for peaceful sleep and better days to come.
6:20 pm on November 4th, 2012
Melanie: Fish out of Water is a series on APTN which is a Canadian Aboriginal television channel so I don’t think you will be able to find (it). Thanks to SiberH, the Howlers and Snowhook Kennels Iditarod races, I am more knowledgeable about Huskies than many.
6:47 pm on November 4th, 2012
Terry – ve do not know of Dogster. Please – vhat it is? Sounds maybe like dating service for doggies.
(Since Siber’s Rocks do not vin series of vorld, vedding is postponed. And Natasha may be available for next veekend)
7:02 pm on November 4th, 2012
Rio! I think you choose to underestimate yourself. I bet you came up with a few good titles.
7:02 pm on November 4th, 2012
Snigglefritz, Dawson. It sounds good.
My niece and her SO came over this afternoon to show us how to do bird origami.
Jeeze Louise. My brain is taking a long time to get that in it. Anyhow, I was mentioning my subliminal use of commas. She loved it. I then asked her how I signed my emails and texts to her. She looked blank . . I said, “Auntie . .?”
She said, “Auntie M?” Then looked inside herself and started laughing! I love that little joke, but no one has gotten it!
B.Stover: My niece then told me about her mother who teaches the 6th grade and how the school where she was teaching was having an hour walk. The project was called “Move”. Each class was supposed to have a poster and her students wrote “Move Middle School” (name of school is removed). My sister said now read that again. And her students GOT it! They realized that they had a poster that meant to move the school physically.
She said, “Now how are you going to fix it?”
They figured out the comma.
Just thought you’d like that!
7:03 pm on November 4th, 2012
Natasha – it’s pretty much Facebook for dogs. It’s at Dogster.com
The most important thing for this group is that all of the dogs have diaries – usually written from the point of view of the dog, as is the latest post from Yuji talking about his hurricane adventures.
7:12 pm on November 4th, 2012
Belle would like to apply for her certification in counter-surfing advanced. Mom found her on the counter with her face in the popcorn bowl. Busted!
7:14 pm on November 4th, 2012
Terry: We don’t see Yuji’s post on Dogster. Can you help point us in the right direction?
Facebook for dogs. lol
7:17 pm on November 4th, 2012
Dogster! Whitey-Lance was mentioned on Dogster when he went on his five day walkabout. Speaking of walkabouts, today I put on my cold weather gear and went with AJ and handler Jeremy to train the team. Aj decided to truck the team to a trail that would be easier on my back. On our way to the start of our run, we came across a siber on a walkabout of his own. I tried to reach his owners with no luck. We loaded him up in the dog truck and just as we were about to leave, his owner retuned my call. He was happy to see his pop and his pop was happy to see him. His pop said, “I can’t believe he wandered away like that.”. I said, ” He’s a siber. That’s what they do.”
7:19 pm on November 4th, 2012
Thank you Melanie, I do like it.
However, I don’t get the Auntie M joke….
7:21 pm on November 4th, 2012
Melanie: Auntie M? You mean like Auntie Em in The Wizard of Oz?
7:21 pm on November 4th, 2012
Rebecca, Truer words could not have been spoken. I hope the Siber’s owner got the message loud and clear.
I was reading your post and until I got to the end of it, I thought Snowhook now had themselves a Siber.
7:23 pm on November 4th, 2012
Royals, mom is so jealous of your mum. She looked at garage sales all day yesterday for craft items for the kids at school, only found some ribbon. Maybe next week.
7:36 pm on November 4th, 2012
SiberH: I was thinking of you when I spoke those words.
7:36 pm on November 4th, 2012
You got it Wose!
Every time I use it I think to myself, “Auntie Em? Auntie Em?” and laugh.
OTAS and GLAD should have electricity by Tuesday midnight. Hope so.
7:38 pm on November 4th, 2012
Bella, yesterday we had a beautiful black lab running down the road with a small buddy by his side.
They were definitely on a mission. Called the animal control person (she’s great) and left a message. Hope they found their way home.
7:41 pm on November 4th, 2012
Molly’s Mom had to replace her iPaw today so she had a lot of running to do. She doesn’t live near anything but ski hills. The old iPaw kept closing down when it was on the Internet so it was trade-in time. Then when she came home she splorted from something gluten that she ate yesterday. Feels like crap. The Boursin Light Cheese is suspect even though the label shows no problem. So she’s going to bed since it might or might not be bedtime.
7:52 pm on November 4th, 2012
You don’t think the Marauding Goats slipped something into MPM’s cheese? MPM, I hope you feel better soon.
7:55 pm on November 4th, 2012
Princess Sam, take care of your Molly’s Mom. It’s not fun splorting.
I am going to bed . .

Okay, so I’m on again. I am leaving for upstairs next. But . . I tried one more time to find the program that Dawson is watching.
I found this website http://www.aptn.ca/pages/fullepisodes
This looks like a good place to watch full episodes of some fantastic work.

Terry, Tell Yuji I left him a couple of bones.
I will sure be glad when Wednesday comes. Unless the worst happens and there is a tie. I want all this stuff to be OVER.
Dad has been listening to public radio whenever he is awake. They are having a debate about “the marriage amendment” and for the last hour dad has been listening.
AAARRRRGGGHHHHHHH!
9:48 pm on November 4th, 2012
Late!…Its not late, its still early here…heh!…What a nice long(ish) day off for my friend…sniff!…She says every weekend should be a couple of hours longer every time…snort!

Staff, It will be all over soon, but a tie…what a horrible thought.
Sam, Mom is having the same problem you are with the time.
9:58 pm on November 4th, 2012
Maskers!…We just watched the first 4 eps of season 4 Damages…wow!…How different is this? I am so intrigued as to what the “Michael” character is doing and how he became so rich. Now he seems to spend a lot of time riding around in his big black limo instead of sleeping in his borrowed car…heh!heh!
10:08 pm on November 4th, 2012
night all
We figure we will be adjusted to the new time about the time it changes again.

I had to have a nap this morning after my extra hour of sleep. Now I am wide awake for pete’s sake. I better not stay up playing freecell till all hours. heh.

Rebecca!…Are you back from the training run yet? Or are you a popcicle?,…wheeze!…When you defrost, please check your SDD…sniffle!…How did Rio Junior do on the training run?….hmmmmm!
10:19 pm on November 4th, 2012
Rebecca!…Thanks for the update on Junior before I even asked the question..heh!…I love when that happens…sniff!
10:25 pm on November 4th, 2012
Rio: Great minds snort alike. Checked and responded.
10:28 pm on November 4th, 2012
Rio: I felt like a pupcicle, but got a good fire going when we got home and now I am toasty warm. Don’t tell AJ, who took great pains to take me on a smooth trail for the sake of my back, but my back is killing me. Shhh.
10:35 pm on November 4th, 2012
Oooohhh!…Rebecca…sniff!…Take care of yourself tonight. I hate to hear you are in pain with your back…wheeze!…It wuffles me to no end…grunt!
10:45 pm on November 4th, 2012
Rio: no need to worry. I will be fine. I sent you another SDD.
