Fourth Mention of the Teitelbaum Divorce

Jocko got a real mean expression on his face, but Bernie wasn’t looking. “Know what I think?” Jocko said. “You’re yellow.”

Yellow? I’m no expert on color, as I should have pointed out by now, but Bernie doesn’t look at all yellow to me. He has beautiful skin, kind of darkish, with red tones mixed in.

“Yeah?” said Bernie.

“Yeah,” Jocko said. “Chicken.”

Humans could lose you just like that, and this was one of those times. I knew chicken, of course – that kosher chicken at the Teitelbaum divorce celebration dinner was often in my thoughts – but what was Jocko talking about? Was it possible he had a line on kosher chicken, could hook us up with some? I waited to hear.

“What’s on your mind, Jocko?” Bernie said. “Spit it out.”

Oh, no, not that; and in the cab? Some humans – men, just about every time – had this very bad habit, plain nasty. And chewing-tobacco spit? Don’t get me started.

Good morning. We all slept late this morning, only just now finishing our breakfast. Mom didn’t have hers yet, and she is worried about Shiek again. Something is bothering that poor guy’s tummy this morning, so he hadto get medicine and walked a bit, all while we (sort of) patiently waited for breakfast.

Waiting for updates from Rose and Zoe & Melanie. Our little Kat isbecoming quite independent. She was picked up at Zoe’s and blurred to Rose’s. thanks for picking her up, Luna. She still has issues with navigation.

Good morning Oleys. BTW, your home is beautiful! You are some lucky ducks. We must be thinking about poultry this morning, what with the post up above. Chet does love his kosher chicken, doesn’t he?

Hi all, I think after Kat left Zoë had some problems. She does not do well on morphine and they are looking for a substitute. Any ideas are welcome.

I got a call from her this morning asking about the dogs. In the morphine problem they were in trouble. I told them they were fine and awaiting their breakfast. All pills were distributed. I’m going in to see her again today.

I’m not sure when I’m getting anything wrapped. Might be a paper and plastic bag Christmas.

Two gifts arrived yesterday. They look great. It’s a company that takes your photograph and puts it on metal. With all the new keys I decided that we needed really nice key tags. So I got the size for dog tags and they are great. If I can find the lens I need I’ll take a picture.

So that’s it for awhile. NEED CAFFEINE! I feel like Jasper’s mom.

    Good Morning Everyone

We didn’t go to the dog park this morning because it is raining. Draco (love that name for a storm) is suppose to bring us 55mph winds so I could go off the grid.

I worried about Rio’s friend driving to work. Draco could get nasty where they live.

Not unlike Chet, I have learned that humans can lose you just like that. So the Howlers are ducks? All this time, I thought they were Sibes. And aren’t ducks sometimes served for dinner? Are they kosher? And if so, how can the Howlers be lucky?

Has Rebecca arrived home safe and sound? Last thing we read was that her plane landed and she was facing down a 75 mile drive.
We are also worried about the Hobbit’s furnace. Honestly, how do youse guys handle life in those temps. We are huskies, but we still like being (reasonably) warm. Especially kat, who likes to lie infront of the pellet stove or the fireplace. Oh, and guess what? We aregetting a little wood stove installed in our Summer Kitchen a.k.a. Winter Tavern. We couldn’t get it scheduled until mid-January, but we are excited because that is our favorite room to hang out in. It has a nice cool cement floor for the 4-leggeds, and old table and benches for the 2-leggeds.

    Hi Everybody.

    We don’t like hearing:
    Zoe had an uncomfortable night,
Shiek is having tummy issues again,
C.Hobbit’s furnace is on the kabutz,
Siber-H & Rio in the path of the storm,

    We do like:
Hearing from Wolfie to start the day,
C.Hobbit’ furnace guy coming this morning,
Looking forward to the photos from Melanie,
Knowing Wose has the Smoochers at her side,

Hey! Who is calling us ducks? We don’t quack! Although, we are getting mighty interested in tasting Kosher chicken…
Bear, Shiek is o.k. again. After giving him medicine, Mom let him alone and when she went back to the barn, he had eaten all but a few crumbs of his grain, and was calling to her to let him out. He began munching on grass just as soon as he was out of the barn. All good signs.

Good morning all. Hope those who were cold are warm, those who were not feeling well are better, those in harm’s way are safe, and those who had to eat icky stuff get pie.
Melanie – Mama is allergic to morphine. When she has been in the hospital, they have given her something else that didn’t cause nausea or nightmares. We THINK it was Demerol. Might be worth asking the hospital staff.
We are off to the studio to unload and reload the van. This last show is completely different that the others. It’s being held in a hoity-toity mall, and they have all kinds of rules about what kind of table covers are used, what kind of bags and packaging must be used etc. Plus the spaces are teeny tiny. So Mama says she will just bring jewelry and no pottery.
Jewelry +snob mall+last minute panic shopping +offering to wrap gifts = good show(paws crossed)

Hi, guys! Mom asked us to post a big thank you for the great Chtistmas cards she has received. This is the 1st time in the 38 years Mom and Dad have been married that she just didn’t have time to send cards. But please keep them on your list and next year cards will go out.

Dad is doing great and only has 6 more sessions of radiation and oral chemo. Then he does the oral chemo 5 days in a row once a month for a year. Our Christmas miracle is that it looks like he will beat this thing. That quilt is fantastic!

    Greetings All!

The Smoochers are here with me…Kat with her kisses, Mamma Luna being the great mom that she is, Masquers with his comforting purrs and massage, Sammie with her cuddles, and Belle Starr sitting on my head. Sammie is a very fast runner ( love that picture with her and her girl), and she looks beautiful in her ski jacket. The Smoochers will be off in a little while to take care of our dear Zoe.

CHH: I hope you are staying warm.

Bella: I hope you arrived home safely. Very worried here.

Rio: Please tell your friend I gave one of her pieces to my friend nurse Lisa today. She absolutely loved it. It was part Christmas present and part going away present. She is leaving the hospital where I get my lightning bolts for a new job. I will miss her very much. I will also be giving my therapist another of your friends pieces as a gift during my appointment this afternoon. I am trying very hard to chat up your freind’s beautiful work, and let people know if they want to own any of her art to get in touch with me. Question…where does your friend get the frames?

I’m exhausted. Tomorrow I promise not to do as much.

I am going to see Zoe for about 45 minutes. Hit the store, come home, relax, take Jesse home, and then get my haircut. Hmmm, I wonder about this.

Zoe has become quite myth in our little town. Everyone is amazed.

    B. Stover and Wookie, I finally got the packages shipped.

That top secret package? I signed for it and I’m not opening it yet. I can’t open it until Zoe is off the narcotics and then I can read it to her.

We too have been enjoying the many beautiful cards we have been getting from all over the country. We save them for Mondays when we are taking part of the day to decompress – then we open all the cards in a row, and bask in the warmth of having friends. (We have told Mama over and over that it would be so much more polite to send out her OWN cards, but does she listen to us? Nooooo. Humans…sigh….

I buy tons of stuffed animals because I like their softness but I only get to enjoy them while I am caressing them on the way to the cash register. Because of my doggies, they end up on the top shelf in my closet or in a dresser drawer. And since my dogs are always around, I never bring them out.

Furnace still working and no racket since 3:00 am. Furnace guy is puzzled, I am nervous. It was a long, scary night. At times the sound was so loud and I could feel the heating pipe in the floor throbbing and vibrating.

Dawson: Can’t help but asking…how did it happen your man was thrown out of a Greyhound bus?

And, Melanie: Yes…we all want to know…what was Zoe doing up in the loft?

C.Hobbit: Why is it mysterious sounds always stop when you call in witnesses? Sure hope your furnace will be okay. You did say you have backup just in case?

    Oops, let me try again.
The greyhound bus was traveling on black ice and went into a slide then tipped over. My man was thrown out a window into the ditch at the side of the road with the bus on top of him. Thank dog for the ditch.

Somebody (not me) here is in Trouble. All that was left of a giant Ghirardelli dark chocolate bar was shredded wrapper. Not my fault if the guilty party wakes up dead in the morning. I certainly can’t get on the counter.

All of west Texas blew in here earlier while mom and dad were looking at Christmas lights. They had the windows down and now mom can’t breathe at all. She needs to spend a quick night under the quilt. That’s all the time she can spare because she is going to start (and finish) her Christmas shopping tomorrow.

Good nighty noodle everyone. Special thoughts for Gus and BooBear’s Dad, Melanie’s Mom, Zoe and hoping that the Plunder quilt will help. It is beginning to sound like Zoe will not be hopping back home anytime soon. I bet that really pisses her off!

My Lady put up her hood and pulled her fur ruff tight ovre her head in shame. She feels bad she received all the wonderful Christmas cards for all youse and she didn’t send out any cards. She said she thought about it, but with being on the road, never crossed off her to-do list. She wants each of you to know how dear you are to her, but she won’t come out of her hood.

She hid deeper into her hood in frustration. We may never see her. It seems the ‘follow’ option on the blog to receive a copy of the Rookie’s Guide she wrote isn’t working. She isn’t showing any new followers. I think I hear a ‘Gah!’ coming from her parka, but I can’t tell. It is so muffled. If I approach her just right, I think I can convince her to spend some time on Friday to try to figure out the problem.

All youse stay under the quilt who know you need it, and for those of youse who don’t know you need it, but do, if you feel a gentle touch on your shoulder, don’t be alarmed.

I got the rookie guide, thanks.

Rebecca, I just saw a post on AJ’s FB page from a girl who lives near me. How cool is that?

And we don’t need you wasting valuable dog food money on stamps!

Mom and I are going to be up all night because we don’t know if Annie or Belle ate the 3.5 oz dark chocolate almond bar. Nobody is splorting. The v e t office opens in only 5 hours.

    3:51 am on December 20th, 2012

Don’t stress, Rebecca. Take care of the dogs and AJ too, of course.

Macy: hope you can report all is well in the morning. I once had a dog eat a whole box of individually wrapped Andes chocolate mints with no bad side effects. I googled “what to do when dog eats dark chocolate” and got this:
“If he is a small dog, then feed him a LOT of his favorite food, to dilute the chocolate so it digests slower..the most important thing to watch for is a rapid heart rate, which could lead to heart failure.. If he is not a small dog, he is likely OK..If his heart is beating much faster than normal, he needs a trip to the vet..”

So much to catch up on the blog this morning. We shut down early yesterday, because we were all watching movies and t.v. episodes recorded awhile ago. Rio, we are now caught up on Burn Notice and we agree with you on fat little Smuggler Schmidt.
Macy, love your tree and your stuffedies. We have some stuffedies out for Christmas too although not under the tree. None of us chews those. We have our own stuffedies in our beds if we get the urge. Are the English crackers the wrapped up things in the basket? Don’t youse girls eat those? We are praying for no ill effects from the chocolate bar.
Zoe: 7 broken ribs! Zowie! Mom once had one measly cracked rib and she was such a weenie about it. Cried everytime she coughed or laughed. And sneezing? She would go through the roof!
Whatelse? Jeeze we forget now. Time for mocha.

Oh yeah. We here want to see Rio’s photos of wildlife on cross-country skis. We didn’t even think they would know how to put those skis on.
And Bella. We are relieved and happy that no booty money or husky food money was spent on cards or stamps.
And Dawson: abus landed on top of your man??? O my Dog!

Need some prayers for the doctors today.
They keep putting Zoe on different narcotics.
    ARGGG
Zoe phoned me at 12 last night. She was paranoid.
I talked and listened and then talked to the nurse.
They have changed her medication to different forms of narcotics every time she needs a pain killer.
So I told the nurse that perhaps we should just figure THAT WASN’T WORKING.
    I was nice though.
She agreed. She put down that she was allergic to the one they had just tried so they won’t try that one again in all their wisdom.
I told her to write the docs a note about calling her GP because she knows how Zoe is with this stuff. I just called the doctor’s answering service to tell her to call them.
I will be off to do battle as soon as I can get the dogs set, the poop cleaned up, the dog dishes washed and the laundry started . .
Sure glad that tomorrow is my sister’s last day of work before school vacation.

Melanie: Good Grief! Hope they get Zoe’s meds figured out…And Soon. Having her GP involved in the consultation we think will be a big help. Continuous prayers here.

Macy: Your mom must be So Tired this morning. Good thoughts and prayers that all is well at your house after the counter-surfing incident. Is it better that it was dark chocolate?

SnowBella: No need to apologize for Dog’s Sake. You ARE the Plunderer’s Christmas Card in every post you write.
