Good Gallup(NM) morning all. I have been up and at em since dawn cracked. The flea market was awaiting. Alas, the one person I really wanted to find there no longer does the flea.
So I went shopping for moi at one of the trading posts and got a great dress and purse at 75% off. Woo Hoo.
And Siber – when I got back to the hotel, they were just cleaning up the breakfast bar. Guess who scored two sausage patties just for you? Hope that will be an acceptable substitute for bacon.
Packing up all my goodies now and heading for Albuquerque. And soon, I will be heading back to the arms of the Storyteller. And I know the first words that will be lovingly whispered into my ear. “What’s for dinner?”

It is good to have the Giant and the Pixie back together. Both the Giant and I were beside ourselves to see each other last night. I rolled onto my back several times for a belly rub as we made our way from the car to the kennel. I asked, “Who’s a good Giant?” and he responded, “I am” with a belly rub for your’s truly.

I like to think I have good paw on raising pups with a firm, but loving paw. And, my three basics have never proved wrong when it comes to puppy rearing: feed them, keep them clean, and don’t lose them. But, I have to admit I am at a loss and I need parenting advice from Rio.
I’ve been keeping an eye on it for a while, wondering if it will go away, but last night in a conference with my Lady, we decided we must accept it. Unlike his brother and sisters, Kirby G. Runworthy’s tail is curled like a cinnamon bun. His littermates have tried tugging on it to straighten it out with some persuasion, but the more they tug, the curlier it gets. At first, I tought he might be part pug, but then realized a curly tail could be a sign of evilness.
Sure, I’ve raised Outlaws and Thieves—and no mistake they gave me a run for my money—but, I’m in new territory here. Rio, can you give me guidance on how best to raise a curly-tailed pup? Do I need to call a Priest, or better yet, Beau?

Good Saturday morning!
Siber’s Mom, Mom hates her picture taken too. She kind of panicked when Melanie requested a pic. But anything for Melanie. So she took a selfie of her and me up close, but with me covering up half of her face. So, hug close to SiberH, and let Amalia take that type of photo. You’ ll see, you won’t mind it so much if the focus isn’t just on you.
The 8-11 plumber showed up at 11:30 and was able to snake the main drain line in the house (Mom has a sneaking suspicion that a big part of the clog was something like cat hair. I seriously doubt that myself.) BUT, he found a bigger problem. Because of the drought we had a couple of years ago, alot of houses in this area have shifted, even though they are built on a concrete foundation. This shift can cause the pipes under the house to “bow” and water stand in that area. Solution is to tunnel under the house and redo thoses pipes attaching them to the slab so they shift when the slab shifts. Makes since, but very, very expensive. Like in the thousands of dollars! Mom is going to talk to a friend and get some advice before committing to that. She can’t help but wonder if this is something companies are doing because clients will believe them about the drought causing the damage. But she did see the camera scoping the line herself and there is an area where water collects in the pipe. Anyone have any knowledge or advice on this type of stuff?

BooBear, We have a drought here, but that is not happening to our houses…must be the difference in soils and our normally dry, even before the drought, climate.
My only advice would be to ask a lot of people (professionals?) about this.
I passed on your advice about picture taking to my mom. I’ve done all I can do. She is impossible.

BooBear, is it possible to reroute the bad pipe? Cap off the bad pipe and install new pipe to go around the outside of the house instead of under it.

MPM, I think you would still have to tunnel under the house to get to the pipe and that is where the main expense is. I am inclined to let it go and see how long it is until it clogs again. If its 3 years, ok. If is 3 weeks, I may need to go ahead with the repair. I’m still going to check with others to get advice.

Howdy! We have been busy farming all day today. First, the ‘rents went out and bought all the plants they wanted to plant. Then, after the stalls and coop were cleaned, it was planting time. We watched while the ‘rents planted tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, beans, basil, thyme, and oregano. Then they planted flowers. While they were planting the tomatoes, the sky opened up, and next thing you know, we were all drenched. But did that stop us? Oh no it did not.
The tomatoes are even strung to something that looks like a gallow.
Now they have a chicken roasting in the oven, and we are all wining down.
Can’t wait to hear from Amalia and Siber!

Tonight the cuisine at Chez Lurker/Billy’s Buddy will include spareribs, sauerkraut, and potatoes.
Finally a nice day in this part of Wisconsin. We cleaned flower beds, picked up sticks, and sawed off dead branches from various bushes. Now it’s clouding up. More rain.
Rio, Billy’s other buddy and I looked at Morneau’s stats. Wow, we are impressed. But the other buddy said to tell you that Justin is a great guy, but made of glass. Hmmm….. Staff? Dawson? What think youse? Is that a good thing? (Snicker.)

Busy day here – planted some beans and flowers. Still a week or two early here to do the tomatoes and peppers. Howlers, your weather must be a little better than ours.
Grilled a piece of salmon that we marinated in honey, soy and garlic. Looks really good! Wish we had some fresh ginger for the marinade, but it will be OK.
Time to relax with a glass of wine and dinner.

Also, you and mom were talking about bad neighborhoods in Albuquerque…We were stopped at the light at Central and Yale when this crazy dude came up to the car and started screaming and hollering. When he saw me he immediately took his rant to another car. The light changed then so we don’t know what happened.

Barb and Maggie, Summer has arrived in our neck of the woods. Mom always plants on Momma’s Day weekend. This year, Momma’s Day arrived early, and Spring was late, so she was afraid she’d have to wait. But Voila! This weekend is warm, and the entire week looks warm.

I am flying home tomorrow. At least I hope I will get home. After coming out here on a GIGANTIC 757, I go home a different route, on on much smaller planes. The first plane is a flight to Minneapolis. And from there I get on a teeny weeney plane to Connecticut. I wonder if we all have to pedle as hard as we can.
It may be a jetliner by the Pixie’s standards, but I am no pi/is, and it scares me to death.
But since I do have to get up at the crack of dark, I am going to say goodnight, and get some sleep.

I’m Baaaacck! It has been a busy two days here. I worked for a friend as she was the main speaker at ‘International Days’ with the Grand Forks Quilt guild. They exchange visits with the Manitoba Quilt Club. Every year they go to the other country and have a luncheon and program and vendors etc. I got to hand quilts up to her husband who dropped them on to a tall holder. We did good. Didn’t drop a one.
Barb and Maggie, After I read your suggestion about the onions I went and bought my sets but didn’t get a chance to put them in yet. So tomorrow, probably in the rain, I will be putting them in. Unless I decide to wait. But it is supposed to rain forever. Well, till Wednesday. So I might try tomorrow.
It took me a long time to catch up with the blog. I had to go back to Thursday.
