Good morning, everyone! No noise fobia here. WE held mom down during those fireworks, just like we do during thunder boomers πŸ™‚ A bit crowded last night with Kiya having a sleepover.
    Have a sunny, summer Saturday.

    Me?

    Greetings!

I hope all youse got through the fireworks okay. Not too many here since the towns that have them are a distance from our neck of the woods.

Welcome, Chet’s new friends. Especially love Penny, the French Bulldog.

I think Tupper or Gilly posed for the article Spence posted.

    Good day to all!

We made it thru the fourth without too many problems. The nuckle- head next door set off a really loud boomer while we were sitting outside last evening. Almost went thru the screen, ala Zeus. Other than that one of us (neither of us is admitting) peed one the den rug last night. Left a big ole spot. Barb used her Bissel step-on pad that is good for that kind of thing. She is chalking it up to the stress, since that was a rare occurrence.

Have to go check out the auction. Some of the items we liked are getting expensive.

HOH, The same can be said about NM.

We had loud fireworks last night…the usual war zone. I had no emotional issues because I have decided fireworks and thunder no longer bother me.

Fireworks going until 1:30 AM. There needs to be a special place in h*ll for inconsiderate people. Sadie was by my side most of the time with my hand on her. However, when I finally went to bed, I discovered that she had peed and made messes all down the hallway. Poor dog and poor me.

On a brighter side: A photo of Ikette is advertising the adoption clinic today. I hope he gets his furever home today. [I think he looks a little sad in the photo but still adorable of course]

    T&G: you could be right. The photo makes me want to jump in the car and go adopt him! Fortunately Sadie is having a play date with my nephew’s dog (who so far doesn’t want to play). {{{{sigh}}}}

  22. Garcia from the Other Side of the Bridge
    4:03 pm on July 5th, 2014

I crossed the Bridge this morning while in my Lady’s arms. My Lady prayed that my passing would be easy and asked that our Heartfriend would greet me.

Do you remember when I ended up in a cone? One moment I was enjoying life outside of a cone, and the next moment was enjoying life inside the cone. Crossing the Bridge was a lot like that. One moment, I was in my Lady’s arms on your side of the Bridge and then next moment I was was watching her kiss my forehead from this side of the Bridge.

My Lady cared for me in my passing. She told me my stories and sang me my songs. We added this song to my mix for my passing.

You should see the view from this Side of the Bridge.

    Love,
    Garcia

A very wise lady once told us that the only bad thing about dogs is their ability to break your heart. Garcia- have a good run among the northern lights. May all your future cones contain ice cream.

We have been out in the backyard watching the Flying Bat Circus. First there were fireflies. Then suddenly, there were bats. Swooping, soaring, squeeking bats; instant silhouettes flashing through the clearing. Looking up, overhead against the twilight sky, bats dancing through the mobile buffet of mosquitoes, chirruping their delight at the feast.

It made us laugh thinking of Dawson.

Royals: That sounds like something our Lady says, and she’s the smartest woman in the kennel. We don’t have any other bad characteristics. We are sure of it.

It was a long night in the kennel. As our Lady was holding Garcia’s head in her lap in the wee hours of the morning she heard the kennel erupt with barking. She knows this bark. It is the kind of bark that says something is wrong. She ran out to the kennel to see what was the matter. We could not be calmed. She looked in the direction we were all barking. Something told her to look up. What did she see? A bear cub up a tree. Well, poop. Knowing mama bear would not be far away, our Lady ran back to the house. When our Lady returned to her post of holding Garcia she told him that maybe his clan came to collect him. What you don’t know about Garcia is from the time he was born, our Lady called him her little bear cub or Grizzly Garcia because that is exactly what he looked like. We went on to bark for several more hours.

When the young visitor was here she insisted on going out past the west shelter belt to take sunset pictures every night that it wasn’t raining. One night when we were fighting lots of mosquitoes because we were later than usual I saw many many bats flying out of our shelter belt.

They were loving the mosquitoes that were making me miserable. I really haven’t been out much to see bats because it is almost always way to buggy when they are out.
