“Correct,” says Admin.
“One of the great things about America.”
“Sans doute.”
“Two very good and likable teams.”
“I’d say so.”
“Your pick?”
“Sox in seven.”
“Best uniform?”
“They’re both great. Let’s go with Cardinals.”

Chet has figured B. out!
Snicker
Rest Day . . I hope.
The Dog Pool is now closed for the winter. The gardens are put to bed. Had a freeze last night. I will be bringing in the strawberry gutters.
Did I say “gutters”? Yep, had so many runners I put another gutter underneath the first, and it is now full.
Need to rest again.
Good Mornimg to All

Hi Admin! I’ll root for the Red Sox. (I’m laughing and chuckling.)
9:51 am on October 23rd, 2013
Good morning!
For any who didn’t see Scott post last night on Nana’ FB page:
“This is Barbara’s (aka Nana) son. She is doing very well but still on a ventilator. Hopefully she will be off of that by tomorrow. It really has been a miracle. The doctors did not expect anything outside of 24 hours.”
We are thankful for the miracle.
9:52 am on October 23rd, 2013
Another big baseball fan here – and we are rooting for the Cards!
Barb is off to Lena, and won’t be around till late in the day.
Have a great day everyone.
9:54 am on October 23rd, 2013
Wooo whooo! Good news about Barb. That makes our day! Thank you Scott and Howlers.
10:07 am on October 23rd, 2013
Good morning, everyone! Nana News is fantastic! She is still in our pawrayers 🙂
Hey, don’t take the World Serious…our thought, It is and all RED series (sox and birds) and Bernie always says red isn’t Chet’s best color.
For today, hopefully have a warm Wednesday (Wensday).
10:34 am on October 23rd, 2013
Wonderful news about Barb! Cheering here in North Dakota!
Nice sunny day. Alice and Abbie don’t know it yet but they are traveling to the vets this afternoon. We don’t let them know because Alice M. can hide like nobody’s business. And that is very good hiding!

For those interested, there is a new online site of Emily Dickinson’s work. Here’s the link:

She is one of the greatest poets.
“A word is dead
When it is said,
Some say.
I say it just
Begins to live
That day” (Number 1212 in Complete Poems, edited by Thomas H. Johnson).

Greetings!
Thank you Scott, and OHs for sharing that great news about Nana! If I were any happier, I would splort!!! Get better soon, Nana, this here blog misses you so much!!!!
Okay, I have always let it be known that I am a rabid, foaming at the mouth Yankee fan. However, of the cities I have visited (and there aren’t many)I LOVE Boston! I’m going with the Sox.
10:47 am on October 23rd, 2013
Great news about Barb.
Still not having forgiven the Cardinals for what they did to the Nationals last year (and the Rangers the year before), I guess that means that I am in the Red Sox camp as well. Who would have thunk?
10:47 am on October 23rd, 2013
This here blog is just not the same without BearSpiritDog and Masquers.
sniff
11:05 am on October 23rd, 2013
I miss the wise and wonderful Bear, and my dear friend Masquers too.
11:16 am on October 23rd, 2013
I just got the results from my brain scan – there’s nothing there (like empty). Ha ha.
I think, as the neurologist did, that my loss of balance is coming from my inner ear. I have been researching this and a couple of things come up. One has to do with calcium deposits that move around the inner ear chambers when they shouldn’t and the other is inflammation.
Today I will start to implement an anti-inflammation diet and see what happens. A lot of foods I like will be out, but fortunately red wine is fine.
11:16 am on October 23rd, 2013
I am laughing at Chet’s post to Stover.
I am going with Wookie and Teddys dad’s reasons for not liking the Cardinals and besides that, Boston is our favorite author’s team. GO BOSTON!!!
Pancho and Lefty, It was me and Rio, not Wolfie, that Wookie took to the World Series. It was one of the best days of my life.
11:21 am on October 23rd, 2013
What wonderful news to start the day…NanaBarb is getting better and better! Once that ventilator is out, she will be so much happier and improve even faster!
Mom’s Dad was a huge St.Louis fan (he grew up in Missouri), but she hasn’t decided who she is wanting to win the series. Mom and Dad are much more interested in football (the Texans are dreadful this year–AGAIN!!!)
11:24 am on October 23rd, 2013
Mollypop’s Mom, Great news from the neurologist! Thanks for letting us know. I have been thinking of you.
Fellow Sibers, I agree, We miss Bear and Masquers on the blog. Gasp, I just said I miss a kat, didn’t I? Well, I do.
Thanks for the news about Nana. It is so encouraging. We are thankful.
11:24 am on October 23rd, 2013
“who she is wanting to win”?? Why didn’t I just say “who she wants to win?”
Wonderful news about the MRI results, MPM!! The unknown can be very scary and you are able to cross off some really bad things off your “it could be this” list!
11:25 am on October 23rd, 2013
Mollypop’s Mom: Red wine cures most things. That is great news.
I have not yet sent a card to Nana because I’m not sure what name to use.
11:26 am on October 23rd, 2013
Here is some bad news about jerky treats.

11:27 am on October 23rd, 2013
Stover, I used Nana’s real name. Do you want me to SDD it to you?
11:34 am on October 23rd, 2013
Fellow Sibers, Thanks for posting that link. Mo never buys any dog items that are made in China.
BooBear, The Texans did good against the best team in pro football last week. They only lost by one point.
11:44 am on October 23rd, 2013
Siber, our mom has learned to look at the “Made in” label too. But 2 days ago, Pop bought us some excellent looking jerky treats. One was duck, and another was beef. When he saw that article, he looked at them closer. The duck was made in China and he threw the whole bag out!!!!!! What’s up with that?
11:51 am on October 23rd, 2013
OH — your dad is very, very smart and did the right thing.
SiberH — actually Wolfie was there with us too. You may have gotten distracted by Rio’s anctics with the World Series Championship trophy and forgot all about Wolfie.
11:54 am on October 23rd, 2013
umm I may have also had too much beer. I don’t remember Wolfie being there…sorry, Wolfie.
12:04 pm on October 23rd, 2013
MPM, What great news!!!! I’m skipping and twirling here!!!! :^)
12:06 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Siber-H: Yes, please send the info in an email.
12:07 pm on October 23rd, 2013
At the risk of raising pug ire, could someone post or ssd me Nana’s address. I really did mean to write it down…
Of to look at a cemetery, later y’all.

Greetings of the day to all of you.
Nana – you go, girl! We are thrilled to hear of every day’s improvements and we will keep sending up prayers for you.
LouLou’s Mom – whew! Thank you for the good news. Now, hopefully you can find out what the inner ear problem is.
We laughed out loud – we read the opening post and said to ourselves “Bee is going to have something to say about that.” and then we started reading the posts. Oh Bee – guess it’s time to start baking pies. Would you like some help?
We do like Emily Dickenson, the Belle of Amherst. Her home is only about a 15 minute trip from our home, and the town of Amherst truly honors her.
(Now, if we could just get them to change the name of the town so that it doesn’t honor the originator of chemical warfare against Native Americans…..but that’s a story for another time)
We are off to deliver a whole bunch of Mama’s work to an artist’s collaborative that does open house for three weeks in November. And the best part is that they do all the setup work and the selling – we don’t even have to be there at the open houses. Mama is all for that!
12:42 pm on October 23rd, 2013
RIO
Coverage of the game tonight begins at 5:30 and the game starts at 6:07. (our time)
It is on the FOX channel.
1:17 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Thank you for the correct name Siber-H.
T&G’s Mom: Help on the pies…the many pies…would be wonderful.
1:49 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Mom is home from the market-ation. She didn’t need to but is is “old fart” discount day and she cant resist feeding the freezer and pantry. (Besides, she brings treats for us, us, us!)
HRH B: Thanks for the Emily Dickinson link. Mom has a volume of her works and keeps it by the bed. She also agrees that wine cures most things but red gives her headaches like white does for you 🙁
MPM: (now LLM?) Yeah on the B.S. results. (isn’t that the abbreviation of brain scan?) Mom once got the same results and was thrilled…been telling people there was nothing there for years. Great news for you. Have heard that some balance issues are due to “crystals” or “stones” in the wrong part of the ear and physical therapy can help. (Old Fart had a head injury, this happened and the P.T. did help.)
3:18 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Mollypop and LouLou’s Mom, We are very glad your brain looks good, though empty. But we still want to know what exactly is causing the issue. It is probably inner ear-related, but it seems to us that they should be able to tell conclusively.
3:22 pm on October 23rd, 2013
BStover: Way to get Admin’s goat!
Melanie: It was a great year for strawberries and swimming but all good things must make way for a different season’s good things. Rest is good in all seasons.
MP&LL’s Mom: Love the brain scan results. I will have to check out the anti-inflammation diet.
Scott and Howlers: Thanks for the good news update. I consider it a miracle that Scott found Barb and got her to the hospital in time for her to be where she is at today.
Scott’s Mom: We know you want to get out of there as soon as possible. Unfortunately, recovery can be a long process. We miss BearSpiritDog’s and Masquer’s voices on the blog but look forward to hearing from those wise ones ASAP. Meanwhile, we are grateful for Ohowler’s reporting of Scott’s frequent updates and for your hard work on the road to recovery. Go Nana!

Speaking of addresses…when my computer crashed, I lost my list of everyone’s addresses and blog names. When I went on Dishlickers, I noticed that not everyone has sent in their addresses. If someone has a full list, could they SDD it to me. No hurry but this list has been one of the lost files that I have been mourning.
Another bright, sunny day but getting cooler (finally). We have been having a warm extended fall which is unusual for us. Off to do errands.
4:12 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Being a Yankee fan, I’m not particularly partial to the Sox, but expect them to win in 6 this year. Just got back from “The Valley,” where I helped with my mother’s funeral on Thursday. The next day I went to Superstition Mountain with an old friend and had an awesome photo session.

4:14 pm on October 23rd, 2013
There is a kind of autumn light happening today that is one of our favorites. The sky is “soft”, meaning that there is cloud cover of a light grey, non-threatening nature. Now and then, a bright ray of sun breaks through those clouds, and in a perfect moment will highlight the trees in full colors of orange and yellow against that grey sky background. It takes your breath away; the beauty of the juxtaposition.
4:18 pm on October 23rd, 2013
T&G – as a photographer, autumn is my favorite season. As a person, I’d go with Spring. Here on the Island of Long, it is kind of a dismal fall so far, with a few bright orange spots.
4:35 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Terry: Loved your desert foto. Sorry about the circumstances, but –it happens. Being here near the Chattanooga Choo-Choo is so different from So Cal but We love the seasons (mostly) and find that a.m. here is strange. Used to sunrise in the 5:30 -6 range but here at the western edge of a time zone, sunrise now is 7:30 and usually in fog. Today was different. Sun actually broke over the mts and we had light on the tops of the trees. Our sunsets are better. Good to hear from you. sorry about the circumstances.
4:38 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Terry – we are sorry to hear of your loss. But thank you for the lovely picture of the Superstition Mountains – we love that area, and with heading into the cold season, wish we were there.
4:40 pm on October 23rd, 2013
T&G: Beautiful description of what I’ve been seeing the last two weeks. Now the leaves are nearly all off the trees.
Terry: Condolences on the loss of your mother. I love the picture you posted.
BStover: I have never had a sweet potato pie so I will make some of those and butterscotch pie because I love butterscotch.
4:46 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Dawson: AND butterscotch is getting harder and harder to find! People keep substituting caramel.
5:02 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Oooo – we will make an apple pie with caramel topping. Or maybe 3 or 4 or 5. Love caramel here.
5:04 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Dinner here – grilled chicken breast fillets with thin slices of apples and cheddar cheese, piled onto slices of pumpkin bread.
Oh my.
5:10 pm on October 23rd, 2013
T&G: A delicious Autumn repast.
5:20 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Terry: Beautiful picture. Why are the mountains called “Superstition”?
Dawson: I love butterscotch pie.
Lovely description T&G.
5:21 pm on October 23rd, 2013
T&G: What a lovely description. Wish I was there!
Terry: Sorry for your loss. Great picture. Glad to see you back on the blog.
CHobbit: How is the city-slicker life suiting you?
5:33 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Cool enough here for mom to make SOUP from left overs. Autumn roasted taters, carrots, onions, broccoli, cauliflower and green beans (roasted in walnut oil & balsamic vinegar yesterday) with turkey meatballs. Romaine salad with tomato/herb feta cheese crumbles and homemade biscuits. Yummy, we hope.
5:39 pm on October 23rd, 2013
The neurologist just called and he wants to try a low dose of a prescription that he says has done well for people with my symptoms. I didn’t recognize the name. I’ll pick it up tomorrow and won’t start it until Saturday because on Friday I’m driving to Holiday Valley. I’ll get to see Tyb but without Loulou. She’s almost, but not quite, ready for a 100-mile round trip drive. Next time they will get to meet, I’m sure.
5:56 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Tonight!…The World Series starts!….Wooooo!….Red Sox will Sweep ’em…heh!heh!…My friend will get home just in time to take us for that darned walk and then eat supper before the game starts…grunt!
News!…Things seem to be picking up news wise on this here blog for all the sickos anyways…snort!….Good job everybody.
6:15 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Potluck!…My friend has her first pot-luck at the new busy-place this friday….snort!…She said she is going to make little National Hebrew hotdawgs rolled in cresants for the the occasion in honor of the World Series…gurgle!…I want some of those right now!…zow!
6:15 pm on October 23rd, 2013
RIO! It is so nice to see you during the hours when I am awake!
I’m thinking the Sox will make short work out of the Cardinals.
6:17 pm on October 23rd, 2013
RIO! That sounds delish!!! Is the Beausmobile working? Maybe youse can pick me up now, and I can “help” your friend make them. heh.
6:24 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Rose!…They are delish. She is taking a big short-cut by buying them already made in the frozen foods section…heh!heh!…All she has to do come Friday morning is toss them in the oven while she gets ready for the busy-place. Beau and I will still be sleeping I’m sure. At least until I smell them baking, then I will be up!Up!UP! waiting for my fair share….sniff!sniff!
6:40 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Riö Buudy,
Was going to try a truck that we sort of “liberated” from the neighborhood. (Thanks Pancho and Lefty)
Mac and me was going to pick you up and a few other fellas on Chet’s Blog and go for a ride, but the truck seems to have a problem.
Your friend, Franklin
6:50 pm on October 23rd, 2013
HOH: I like to pretend that I’m having what Barb&Maggie are having for supper (unless there is a dinner party at TeddyRR’s house) but tonight I will pretend eat at your house, smacking my lips.
Aaargh! I’m living in a town that doesn’t know what a Hebrew National is.
My pie crust is chilling.
7:23 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Just got back from Lena. Long day and Barb is tired out.
Dawson, thank you for that nice compliment about supper/dinner.
Barb had a big lunch so she is having homemade potato soup for dinner and that its! DIL made it yesterday, and Lyla said she made it from scraps. Took us a while to figure out that she meant scratch.
We heard about the jerky from China. I think duck jerky was one of the ones they mentioned.
MPM, glad the scan came back OK. Say hi to TYB this weekend.

HOH’s dinner sounds like haute cuisine and very yummy.
And Rio, we love those little hotdogs.
7:27 pm on October 23rd, 2013
OK, sorry about that!
7:43 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Rio – the potluck sounds like fun, and we love those little hot dog bites.
One of our favorite pot luck dishes: equal parts of 3 ingredients – ketchup, brown sugar and bourbon. The amount of each doesn’t matter as long as it is the same as the other two, so you can make a small batch or a gigantic batch. Any way, you slice as many kielbasas as you want, and lightly brown the slices. Then you add the 3 magic ingredients, just enough to make a sauce that surrounds all the slices, heat to boiling, then turn down and simmer for a couple of hours. The alcohol all cooks out leaving just the flavor.
Never had a leftover to bring home.
7:52 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Yum!…That 3 equal parts dish sounds delish!…snort!snort!….Yeep! They are introducing the players and now her mother wants us to come up and eat…gasp!…What a great night this is going to be!….Woooooo!
Friend!…My friend wants me to ask this question – “Okay, who sent me the most beautiful Sunflower Topiary I have ever seen??”…snort!…It had an incredibly bad address on it and the poor mailman was frantic to get it delivered…heh!heh!
8:00 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Rio: It’s a good bet that sunflower topiary didn’t come from Canada.
Go Sox!
8:11 pm on October 23rd, 2013
B. Stover,
Growing up in Arizona as I did, Superstition was said to be the focal point of a lot of ghostly happenings. Perfect for this time of year.
8:16 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Stover!….I’m sure you are aware of Emily Dickenson’s life story….sniff!…She was a recluse who never came out of her bedroom after her father died. Seems she had her heart broken when she was a teenager and was so terrified of rejection that she never wanted to experience anything like it again….snort!…She lived in her bedroom for 27 years. This is when she wrote all her poetry….grunt!
8:31 pm on October 23rd, 2013
GAH!…The little man was SAFE!…snort!…Big controversy already in the game….sniff!…This is gonna be Good!
8:33 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Franklin!…snort!heh!snort!…Nice truck. Lose the Goat…chorkel!
8:36 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Wow!…Where’s my little Baseball Broom?…snort!….The Red Sox are already up by 3 runs in the first inning…heh!heh!
8:37 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Remember the tiny drop of water that got into my ear a week ago at the hairdressers? My ear has been draining for five days and I have lost hearing on that side. I have an appointment with a specialist Friday morning. Gah!
City life has been interesting and I am enjoying everything but the weight gain–too many good places to eat!
Cheers to everyone watching the World Series…
8:44 pm on October 23rd, 2013
I love these guys! Papi and Victorino hit those grand slams against the Tigers and now this. Of course, the Red Birds lousy fielding is not helping their cause.
8:49 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Dawson!….My friend thinks you sent that most beautiful Topiary today…snort!….I think she thinks it’s you because ONLY you could get an address so very wrong and still be lucky enough that it was delivered to my home…heh!heh!
8:52 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Oh my comment is being moderated but i found the problem word. Here i go again…

OMYDawg!….Did youse guys see that play?…heh!heh!…I’m rubbing my eyes here because I do not believe what I just saw. Two Red Birds let the ball drop right between them. I mean really!…chorkel!
8:55 pm on October 23rd, 2013
CHobbit!….What? You are still having ear problems because of that little bit of water rolling around in yer head?….sniff!…This is unbelievable. I’m glad you are finally going to a doctor. Too bad you waited till you lost your hearing…grump!
9:06 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Dawson and B&M: Thanks for the kudos on the dinner. It did come out really well, only a gallon or so of soup left over. Sure glad dog invented the freezer. We will enjoy it 2 or 3 more times this winter.
T&G’s Mama: like the “sauce” for the Hebrew Nationals but we’ll have to use turkey or chicken as that is all mom will let us have 🙁
Just got back from visiting the Grand girls. Gah! They are almost all taller than mom (who is the height of the average 11 year old).
9:10 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Golinka!…Got a question on the 3 Equal Parts recipe…sniff!…If say my friend made this and simmered it for hours the day before a potluck, could she just heat it up in a crocked pot for the big event?….grunt!…Now I am very hungry again…sniff!
9:17 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Oh, wow. We have our first freeze of the season forecast for Friday night. Maybe we’ll get some color after all. Maybe we should remind mom to get cold weather sushi food so we can bob for goldfish almost all winter.
9:33 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Rio: I am not even sure what a topiary is, unless it is the topiary of poppies and daisies that you sent me. Remember that? Trouble at the border? If that sunflower is alive they’ll want to quarantine it.
9:34 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Dawson!….Even you could pick up a phone and call one of my local florists to arrange for a poor postal worker to comb the city looking for the strange address you gave them…heh!heh!…Do not deny it!…snort!
9:35 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Photo!…My friend says she will take a photo of the beauty and let me post it here…sniff!…But not tonight. Maybe tomorrow night…chuffle!
9:41 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Topiary!….I guess it is not really a topiary, but it reminds my friend of one…heh!…She looked it up on the florists website and the official name is “Pot O’ Sunflowers”…which does not do it justice…sniff!…The website would not let me copy the photo…grump!
9:43 pm on October 23rd, 2013
WAIT!…The description of the Pot O’ Sunflowers does say “Topiary Arrangement”….snort!…She was right after all..heh!heh!…Beautiful! Fess Up Dawson!…snort!
9:44 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Thank you for that recipe T & G. We will try it with little smoky links or polish sausage.
Barb’s friend asked her if she would rather have the chickens whole or cut in half. Barb said half, since she cooks just for herself most of the time. So Kim paid extra to have the chickens cut in half – then she froze both halves in the same bag. Ummm, brain cramp?
Barb is heading to bed early after her 4 hours of driving today.
Nice to hear from Liz last night!
9:45 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Rio posting tomorrow will be good. Anything else you say tonight, we will have to read at 6:10 when the Darah the Dozer alarm clock gets the HOH up for another fun filled day. Until then, nighty night.
P.S. Miss lots of comments & witticisms from T&G, Melanie, BSD & Masquers.
Whoa, and where is Wolfie? Not to mention Snow Bella and Pancho & Lefty. Soo many voices, so little comment 🙁
9:47 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Barb!…You can remove one half at a time even if they are in the same bag. Now who has the brain cramps…snort!
9:48 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Topiary – we had one at the farm. It was a boxwood, cut in the shape of a chicken. Very cool! Now good night again.
9:49 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Done!…I will shut-the-crap-up and let others speak/post…sniff!
9:50 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Rio, They are stuck together. They will have to be thawed to separate them. Not good to thaw and refreeze.
9:52 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Barb!….Take a hammer and a chisel to them…sniff!…They will come apart….snort!
9:58 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Ok. I guess I do know what a topiary is.
Sweet potato pie is super-delicious. Mine had whipped cream on it. Slurp!

Ok. I guess I do know what a topiary is.

I can honestly say that I had never thought of picking up the phone to call a florist to cause some postal worker to run around looking for some address I wrote down wrong.

Gotta love autocorrect! I like my new name, though.
We’ve been in lurk mode lately, not sure why. All is well.
Terry, my condolences to you. Mom’s mom died a year ago, and she misses her every single day.

OK, Rio, we will try that. Last resort, we will cook both parts.
Nighty, night all.

Postal!…Wait. Why would a Postal Worker be delivering flowers?…sniff!…Her mother is the one who said “the mailman” when she was telling the story. Doesn’t the florist usually deliver their own stuff…heh!heh!…Anyway, so the poor florist delivery person finally tracked down her mother in the phone book after driving around all over town looking for the bogus address, when she arrived with the topiary Beau ran out of the door and almost knocked the flowers out of her hand…snort!…She was soooo relieved to find out my friend actually lived here, she did not press charges….chorkel!

Rio – to answer your question from before, yes, you can cook it now and reheat it later. It us so good, no one will care.
It got COLD here all of a sudden. Going to go clumb into a nice soft, warm bed with a good book.
G’night all. And prayers for Nana. We miss her so much.

Golinka!….What about cooking it in the crocked-pot the day of the pot-luck?…snort!….Will the office smell like bourbon?…sniff!snuffle!

HOH: Our Lady is still at the top of the world and has limited access to the internet. Why does this impact how much we post on this here blog?—We have no idea.
Terry: Mothers are special creatures. We are sorry for your loss.
CHH: Now that you’re entering a life on the wrong side of the law, it is very important to practice your innocent look. Also, running really fast is helpful.

Seriously!…The Cardinals made it to the World Series with this sloppy-@ss defense?…grunt!….Makes me sort of mad….gruffle!
10:48 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Terry: Mom’s mom crossed the bridge 40 years ago this December and mom still misses her almost daily. BUT the strange thing is, even though she is missed, it is like she is still with us.
10:48 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Senior: If it makes you mad, it makes me mad. Grump!
11:01 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Junior!…It makes me mad, but you should not worry yourself about this…snuffle!…You should be out on a training run or sumthing. Don’t forget to take your favorite pillow and blankie with you when you do an all-nighter….wuffle!…It wouldn’t kill you to put pen to paper and write your old paw now and then either…sniff!

Melanie here. Been a hard week and hopefully things will calm down. (And where have I heard that before, snicker)
I was getting ready for bed when the entire Pack came storming up the stairs. Frank was leading, Mac was trying to get up first, but with a bit of confusion, Grace made it to the top a head of everyone else. Mattie went up backwards, barking her head off at something in the family room. They grabbed my bathrobe and practically pushed me down the stairs.
I am aware that their noses are more sensitive than mine, but I recognized the smell coming from the family room. You see once you have owned a male goat you will never forget the smell.
I looked in the door and there on the walnut dining room table was a bearded, horned goat munching on the stack of napkins.
Sigh, how does this always happen here?
With the entire Pack (behind me), we gave that billy goat what for and chased him out the dog door. That would have been the end to it except he got his horns caught in the wood at the top.
To make a long story short, I got to use the Sawzall again! No four or two leggeds were hurt. The goat is outa here. The Pack has calmed down.
Dog, I need a day off.

Rio, I was thinking Rose also. If not her, CHobbit who has had an address problem with you already. And I think if you cook off the brandy the day before the ‘sauce’ shouldn’t smell too much like alcohol. It should reheat nicely.
Terry, Many of us on the blog know your pain and extend sympathy. It is a sad time.
I am starting to think that at 5’4″ I will be one of the taller Plunderers in Alaska! (Snowbella does not count cause she is not a visitor).
MPM I am sure glad that your problem is not with your empty brain. Now if only the new medicine is good for what ails you!
Nana is feeling better I know it. I bet that ventilator is coming out/off tomorrow! Wheeee. Free at last, free at last.
GO Nana.

I think the Red Birds will get a talking to and come out swinging tomorrow night. I hope so, at least.

Melanie… Really? Why do all your stories lately sound way too much like stories? I didn’t believe the cake story at first either. So, really?
And I want to let everyone know that I will be at Quilt camp this weekend, starting Thursday afternoon. I may not be posting much, but I will take the computer and try. I get sort of busy at quilt camp though.
11:12 pm on October 23rd, 2013
Melanie!…Thank-dawg you got rid of the Goat!…wheeze!heh!snort!

Staff!…How did you know my friend would be using Brandy?…snort!…That is downright eerie?…sneeze!
11:19 pm on October 23rd, 2013
You didn’t believe the cake episode? Really?
I do have to say I like to tell a good tale, but most of them are true.
That’s a scary thought. Have fun with your quilts. I don’t think I told you how much I liked your kidney quilt. I especially enjoyed the presentation stance you took. Snicker.
Terry, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Score!….Of course it was Matt Holiday (ex-Rockie!) who scored the first run for the sad Red Birds tonight in the 9th inning…grunt!
11:22 pm on October 23rd, 2013
oooooOOOMelanie!….Maybe if you went to bed at a decent time you would not be so tired all day tomorrow…snuffle!
11:25 pm on October 23rd, 2013
MollyPop’s Mom. Does this mean that many of Chet’s Blog’s friends have empirical evidence that there is nothing in their heads? I also join that part of the Pack.
Now I must needs sleep.
TTFN and G’Day to Liz

from Scott via Nana’s FB account:
“This is Nana’s son Scott again. She has had lots of improvement. The hospital has been doing a fantastic job. The biggest concern is pneumonia now. Hopefully the ventilator can be removed tomorrow. It was supposed to be removed today but she wasn’t strong enough. Keep the prayers coming – they are helping.”
