Everybody Talks About the Weather, But …
“Still raining out there?” says Spence.
“For the rain it raineth every day,” Admin says.
“Where’s that from again?”
“Twelfth Night – the fool’s last song, closes the play.”
“Over four hundred years old now.”
“Yup.”
“Do you think that anything being written or performed these days will still be popular like Twelfth Night in say, 2412?”
“Ha.”

Don’t worry, Admin. I have looked into my crystal ball . . . 1,000 years in the future people will scuba dive where the Cape used to be and find a huge statue of a dog. Black marble for one ear and white marble for another. After the sand is removed for the stand of the statue . . the words “Chet, Pure and Simple” will be found.
zzzzzz
Peering in the future always makes me tired. zzzzz

One of my favorite characters is Malvolio. I once saw him portrayed by Brian Bedford at Stratford, Ontario. Hilarious! Yes, what is it about Shakespeare? “He was not of an age, but for all time!”
Good morning all.
8:28 am on November 8th, 2012
Good morning all. Stay awake Melanie, it’s still early. Love the idea of th statue of Chet.
I think I saw 12″ of snow at Cape Cod. Has it stopped yet?
Crazy weather here in Illinois – 40 right now, 70 by the weekend. Very unusual for November.
Barb is off for a day of Christmas shopping with Kelly. BBML

Good Morning All!
Pretty snow decorated trees here in Westchester. It is supposed to hit 60 by Saturday, and dare I say it?…68 degrees on Monday.
Gus&BooBear: Youse guys are always in my thoughts. Sending big hugs to your mom, and cheering your dad on. My SIL who was a nurse, always said a positive attitude is the biggest part of recovery. Special hugs to your dad, and scritches and head bumps to you guys.
8:57 am on November 8th, 2012
Hi Guys. I have no snow here to play in, and I don’t like the sound of that weekend forecast. We huskies have so much more fun when it’s cold.
9:40 am on November 8th, 2012
We LOVE the idea of a Chet statue in the far, far future.
It’s a new day (note to self) Let’s make it a Good one!

Wolfie, My husband told me that when his father died he felt strangely lonely. I suppose that might be a common feeling when a parent dies. I am not looking forward to it. Take care.
Gus and BooBear. Before my transplant I waited 5 years for a kidney. I still believe it is easier to be the sick one that the partner. I worried much more about my husband than about myself. It was not the way I thought I would feel. So take care of yourself because that is one of your husbands biggest worries.
Melanie and Zoe, CHobbit, Terry, thinking of you today also.
Everybody have a good day.

I had TEN hours of sleep last night. Of course, I got up twice with Patsy, but 10 hours!! Thank the Dog, Zoe didn’t need any help with the Pack this morning.
Another feel good video . . Two legged though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs8X1RzQ1Gw

Staff & Melanie: Thank you both for the Feel-Good-Videos. It is much appreciated today.
Wookie: The first video reminded us of you. Grampa is in our daily prayers. Soon you will be able to see him and will be on the receiving end of those Very Special tummies only he can give.
Wolfie: Time is supposed to make you feel better, but sometimes you wonder. The Plunderers are here for you with many shoulders to lean on.
Thinking of Wolfie’s Mom, C.Hobbit, Melanie & Zoe and sending Big Bear Hugs.
Gus&BooBear: Take good care of your mom. She is carrying a lot of worry on her shoulders. Continued Healing Prayers for your dad. So happy to hear he is making such excellent progress.
Thinking too of Shiek, Sasha and Tenzing.

The video above is of the live crane cam on the ultralight trike with 5 whooping crane chicks following. They are going into Tennessee this morning.
10:40 am on November 8th, 2012
Staff: Do you know why the chicks need assistance in the migration? Where are the parents?

I am waitin to get on a puddle jumper flight to head north to a village. Internet access varies so I may or may not be on the blog as much as I would like today and tomorrow. Know that I’m thinking of all youse blurring, talented, burping, head bumping, snickering, grammar compliant, fuzz but catching, howling at the moon, dainty licking Plunderers.
It is going to be cold with temps 35ish below zero. Burr!
11:37 am on November 8th, 2012
Bella: Safe travels to you. Brrrrr indeed!
11:40 am on November 8th, 2012
No rain here. No nothing here, but it is cooler than summertime.
Gus&BooBear, I read your post last night. The nice guy that lives across the street from us has had 25 chemo sessions, is cancer free now, and is doing fine. He always has a positive attitude. You guys would like him. He has 3 kats that are rescues.
I wish I could go with Rebecca. I’m sure she could use an assistant.
Wolfie’s Mom, What you are feeling and experiencing is very normal.
11:43 am on November 8th, 2012
Melanie: I love your prediction.
Rebecca: Safe travels.
12:02 pm on November 8th, 2012
Good morning (barely). This house was so exhausted yesterday that we forgot to tell Melanie that our Pop thinks he has had all the hairs of the dogs he can handle thank you. He said that your second suggestion looked much better.
Wookie, we finally got caught up, and we now know your grandpa made it thru surgery successfully. Hip Hip Hooray!
Wolfie, Mom asked us to tell your mom that both she and Pop are “orphans” nowadays, and so she feels her pain. It never goes away, but the way it smacks you in the head will happen less frequently as time goes on. You and your mom are part of our family now: the Plunderers Family.

Masquers,
This project was started in 2001 as a way to increase and safeguard the population of wild whooping cranes. At that time the old ‘eastern flyway’ hadn’t had wild cranes for over 100 years. The only whooping crane population was wintering in Texas and migrating through the center of the country.
They would usually get eggs off of nests with 2 eggs and hatch them at Pawtuxent Wildlife refuge on the east coast (Maryland?) Usually the birds lay two eggs but only one lives so they got permission to take one egg. In the last few years they have gotten most of their eggs from zoo’s, not the wild.
12:20 pm on November 8th, 2012
Today is really exciting because the birds didn’t want to stop at the right place and kept on going. They had to go chase them. Luckily they just got them down, but I don’t know if they are at the right place or not…yet.
12:24 pm on November 8th, 2012
The Operation Migration group goes to great trouble to plan a route and talk to land owners to see if they can stop on their land and use it. It has to be away from people and roads etc. They never talk in front of the cranes. They TRY to keep them as wild as possible.
So today they are punting because the cranes flew an extra 24 minutes without the trikes and now they have to find the landowners and make sure it is OK to stay there. And that no one will come up to the birds. And that it isn’t in the middle of a hunting preserve. Little things like that.
12:26 pm on November 8th, 2012
And get the pens from where they were set up to the new place and put it up meanwhile keeping the cranes away from the noise and vehicles. Jeez.
12:29 pm on November 8th, 2012
Rebecca: May your puddle jumping be safe! I hope you left Belle Starr in charge. 🙂
12:38 pm on November 8th, 2012
I love the 2 feel-good videos. Girl Power on both!

Rio, Burn Notice new season starts tonight! WooHoo !!!
1:58 pm on November 8th, 2012
Thank you for the explanation, Staff. Quite an undertaking for the OM group.
Riö: How many episodes have you seen of this last season of Damages? We here think, along with BB, it is one the most incredible shows on TV. Only one more season and it is gone forever. Two of our favorite shows gone. Sob.
2:21 pm on November 8th, 2012
Burned!…I can’t remember if I got to watch all of the last season’s episodes of Burn Notice or not…sniff!…I think baseball was on then…grunt!
Damaged!…Maskers we just got the 2nd DVD from Netflix of Damages…snort!snort!….It’s the season with the soldiers.
2:26 pm on November 8th, 2012
Staff is on a roll. I can just see her getting on that ultra-light and leading those cranes.
Bella, Stay Safe. I remember in the Kat Who books there was a town named Brr. Perhaps we could rename a town in AK or Canada that.
YSAS and OS are on the road. I am texting him every hour on the hour . .
“Are you there yet?” This is in honor of all the times he did it to me. 🙂
3:23 pm on November 8th, 2012
Our 8 day run of good luck came crashing to an end last night in the early AM. Lost power. That plus the massive snow storm that hit earlier in the day made for some seriously bad news. We were making our plans for bare survival – going to Queens to live with our son for at least the long weekend. Then at 1:30 this afternoon, it came on while I was shivering under three blankets while wearing four layers of clothes. Aptly, I was reading a book called “The last policeman,” about people in New England waiting for the end of the world at the hands of an approaching asteroid.
A statue of Chet? It could only be in that unnamed city that is called the Valley in those books. Land of great Mexican food and weird politics.
3:27 pm on November 8th, 2012
All I wanted was to order a pair of shoos.
First, I went to the website, found what I wanted, put them in my “bag”.
Second, I hit the wrong button and instead of BUY, I hit LOG OUT”
Third, I tried to log back in.
Fourth, the snigglefritz computer said “do you want to remember the password for this site”. I pushed yes.
EXCEPT, it was the wrong password.
I was in the spin cycle of Hell.
Three phone calls later. I have my shoos ordered and a new password.
Jeeze Louise.
3:28 pm on November 8th, 2012
Terry, glad your power is back on. OTAS and GLAD did not lose it this time. YSAS doesn’t know if he lost it, because he’s on a road trip.
5:04 pm on November 8th, 2012
Melanie, is he there yet?
5:57 pm on November 8th, 2012
Sam, not yet. He did catch on to what I was doing though and text(ed?) back. “Don’t make me come back there.”
Snicker. I told him I was just getting him back for what he and his brother used to do to me. That got me an actually phone call. He told me that it was nothing compared to what they used to do. And I told him it was difficult to kick the seat in front of me, say “He’s on my side.” or “He’s touching me.” through texts.
He agreed.
Now that I remember . . When it got too bad, I would give them one warning and say, “If this continues I will be stopping the car.” I had to stop the car twice before they realized that I meant it.
They were older then.
6:35 pm on November 8th, 2012
Melanie, I am reliving those old fight days with Jack and Lyla. Important things to fight about in the back seat, like he has 4 pennies and I have only 3! Gah!
6:49 pm on November 8th, 2012
Did you take one away or give one? snicker
7:01 pm on November 8th, 2012
Melanie, I dug into my purse and pulled one out. My offer was met with “I DON’T WANT IT!!!” At that point I gave up and tuned them out till they were dropped off. Dogs are easier!
7:13 pm on November 8th, 2012
I totally agree! I prefer drool and dog breath to children squabbling.
Though I did have YSAS and OTAS convinced that I could not hear whining. It was great. They even told their friends.
Heh, heh, heh
7:16 pm on November 8th, 2012
Melanie!…Can you hear me now?….snort!
7:17 pm on November 8th, 2012
Meal!…Her mother is upstairs making one of her gourmet meals….grunt!….Tonight its macaroni and cheese with hot-dawgs…sniff!…Last night it was frozen pizza. My friend can’t understand how someone who is home all day long cannot come up with a decent meal now and then…wuffle!
7:41 pm on November 8th, 2012
Hey everyone – just a quick hello and then goodnight. Gramp will be getting his new glasses in about a week, and then we won’t be doing as much running around…thank dawg.
Safe travels Bella. Fast healing to Wookie’s Grampa. Hugs and peace to Wolfie. Positive attitude thoughts to G & BB’s dad. And butterscotch pie for everyone!
G’night all
7:51 pm on November 8th, 2012
I’m headed to bed too. Long day . . or either I’m just not used to the time change.
Riö, we had a gluten free pizza from Domino’s. I don’t know about other Domino’s but this one has been used by some celiac people and they didn’t have any trouble.
Spinach and Feta Cheese. Hmmm, they only make it in small and Zoe had one piece left. She wants to eat it tomorrow morning. I hope I don’t sleep and eat walk tonight.
TTFN
8:34 pm on November 8th, 2012
Gah!…Spinach and feta cheese…spit-toooey1…grunt!…Thats not the kind of pizza some of us make around here, when they do get to make it that is….huffle!
8:34 pm on November 8th, 2012
We are saying good night too. Long day, lots of good gift shopping done.
8:36 pm on November 8th, 2012

8:39 pm on November 8th, 2012
Barb!…Don’t spend all yer money at the stores!…snort!….The Holiday Boutique will be open for business in a few weeks from now….grunt!
Photos!…Which reminds me to remind you all to send your Items Photos to Melanie so she can primp them and send them back to you. Then you can send them to Snowhook with the description and asking price….woooooo!…We need to get moving on this stuff seein how quickly the Turkey Day is sneaking up on us…heh!heh!
8:53 pm on November 8th, 2012
Grandpa update. He is still in the hospital, but will probably be moved to the rehab facility tomorrow. Then the real work will start in earnest.
We will be watching Elementary later tonight. We really got hooked on it after watching the YSAS dead body episode.
No snow here. Actually the next few days look real nice, with highs in the 50’s and 60’s and sunny.
Wookie
9:01 pm on November 8th, 2012
Grandpaw!….Wookie, is grandpaw getting some really good food at the hospital?….sniff!sniff!
9:13 pm on November 8th, 2012
Riö: This season of Damages was a real nail-bitter and for some reason we always ended up watching it before bedtime which didn’t make for sound sleep.
Can you believe it? Ballots are still being counted in our state. Choice of Gov still to be determined.
9:18 pm on November 8th, 2012
Maskers!…For some reason I would believe anything today…grunt!….You could tell me that AbbieTheKat rode an Ultra-Lite with the Cranes today and I would believe it…sniff!
9:24 pm on November 8th, 2012
Goodman!…John Goodman plays Evil very believably….shudder!…Remember him in O Brother Where Art Though?…wheeze!…I have a feeling his stint on Damages is going to be 10 times more evil…wuffle!
9:39 pm on November 8th, 2012
Abbie may well have supervised that important flight. If you noticed, Staff was privy to more than a little insider-type information regarding the avian project.
9:43 pm on November 8th, 2012
Insider!….Staff is obsessed with The Cranes…snort!…Every year that’s all we hear about, The Cranes! The Cranes….grunt!…What have those Cranes ever done for me I ask youse??…sniff!
9:47 pm on November 8th, 2012
Goodman. Plays both good and evil equally well. Whereas Giancarlo Esposito was born to be bad. Love seeing him now on Revolution. Hated him as a wimp on Once Upon A Time.
9:49 pm on November 8th, 2012
Riö: You’re making me chuckle.
9:52 pm on November 8th, 2012
Giancarlo!…Does not play Wimp very well…sniff!…I hated seeing him that way too. I kept thinking he would become more on the Once Upon a Time show, but alas, Revolution snatched him up to play their evil guy….snort!…I would love to meet that man in person just to get an idea of what he is “really” like…heh!
10:00 pm on November 8th, 2012
Rio, I love those cranes. I wouldn’t know when they were flying without Staff. Baseball? I know when the Yankees are playing.
10:04 pm on November 8th, 2012
Sammie! I was just wondering how the Plunderers on the East Coast are doing. That was quite a nasty storm right on the heels of Sandy.
10:09 pm on November 8th, 2012
Sammie!…Is that your way of saying you do not need me around here? I serve no purpose for you? I could disappear and you would be fine with your Yankees and your Cranes flying around when Staff says so…snort!
10:31 pm on November 8th, 2012
Maskers!…We are going to watch the whole DVD tonight!…wheeze!…Starting the the 7ths episode of Damages right now!…snort!….This is sooooo good. I actually feel sorry for people who do not watch this show…heh!
10:37 pm on November 8th, 2012
Of course Rio. We have to have something between Baseball and the Iditarod. C’mon, get with the program. I even bet that Melanie is learning how to make Origami cranes. Besides, baseball is not endangered.
http://www.operationmigration.org.
Heh heh heh.
Good night all. Tuck that quilt in tight.
10:43 pm on November 8th, 2012
Enjoy the rest of the DVD, Riö. Pleasant dreams. Heh, Heh.
G’night all.
10:44 pm on November 8th, 2012
Cranes!…They have been introducing the Cranes for 11 years now…sniff!…You would think they all know each other by now…grunt!
10:46 pm on November 8th, 2012
Staff!….In between baseball and the Iditarod is the huge effort to raise money for Snowhook….grunt!…Thats how I see this time anyways. Not looking at some Cranes being escorted to some spot where they don’t want to go anyways….wheeze!
11:21 pm on November 8th, 2012
Oh No!…Beau just did the unspeakable….wheeze!…He pissed all over her mothers bed and pillows….sniff!…He was mad about not going to bed on time – this whole time change is really
pissingmaking him mad…wheeze!…I think he just screwed himself completely though…yeep!…He is hiding down here with us and her mother is Furious at him…gasp!11:23 pm on November 8th, 2012
Damages!….Talk about damaging evidence…wheeze!…His pampered life as he knows it is OVER!….heh!heh!
11:59 pm on November 8th, 2012
Goodnight!…This is getting old and boring..sniff!
