Elvis and Wimbledon
Sunday. We’ve got Elvis gospel happening, but also tennis on TV. Charlie – that’s Bernie’s kid, not with us much now since the divorce, have I mentioned this already? – is taking tennis lessons this summer. Sometimes we pick him up, and I manage to snatch up a tennis ball everytime, sometimes two at once! Love tennis balls, especially when they’re fresh from the can.
“Chet! Ease up on the barking. There’s no way the ball comes popping out through the screen – you know that.”
I did? I watched the ball go back and forth, back and forth. It was going to pop out of the screen any second.
“Chet!”

You go Chet. You can never tell about those things on TV.
Our Bess does not approve of zebras. She's certain those things with the stripes are just bad news. She starts barking. Unfortunately, all the other dogs think she's barking at something outside and go out to save the world. She looks around and wonders where everyone went.

One of our cats, no longer with us, used to watch Meercat Manor. He was always checking behind the TV and to either side of the screen, looking for those disappearing meercats.
