Gooood morning everyone. And we thought mom had gone over the top
(or edge) when she’d call on a hard line and leave a message for us on the answering machine to be played back later. Shishifoof mambo!
9:34 am on April 25th, 2013
We’ve entered the nutty zone.
Good morning all.
9:44 am on April 25th, 2013
Greetings!
Is everyone on this planet just going nuts, or is it only me?
I see my dear friend Masquers over on the right?
Hi B, and HOH!
9:48 am on April 25th, 2013
Mom would pay big bucks for an ap that changes a litter box.
9:50 am on April 25th, 2013
Good morning.
Nutty Zone! I love nuts!
9:52 am on April 25th, 2013
Hey back at ya (Mom says this is a polite way for southern girls to greet). What has happened to “common sense?
9:56 am on April 25th, 2013
Wolfie, how are the little ones doing. Will we see any pictures?
10:02 am on April 25th, 2013
Oh hey,
Cousin Bob has joined our beloved friends over the bridge. Our sympathies going out to Mick and Jodi and our own Snowbella. We remember that wild party we had at Bob’s house.
10:03 am on April 25th, 2013
Strange Apps…Sigh…it was only a Matter of Time.
No need to apply for a Patent any longer. Everything is Instantaneous.
We like Wolfie’s idea.
Hugs to Cousin Bob’s Family. We are Glad to have met him.
He will be Missed by All who knew him.
10:07 am on April 25th, 2013
See, now yesterday, all youse guys wanted to get rid of common cents cuz some dog ate one. Now you want everyone to have common cents.
Sheesh – humans!
10:08 am on April 25th, 2013
In case Rebecca missed my early morning post, the Prof and I extend our sympathies to Mick, Jodi, and Rebecca. Loving thoughts are with you.
10:09 am on April 25th, 2013
Belle Starr: I am trying to figure out a way to come live with you forever and ever. I would be a good handler, and I would work for free.
10:19 am on April 25th, 2013
Perhaps if people would spend more quality time with their dogs they wouldn’t need any of those stupid apps, which don’t appear to be very useful anyway.
“Bad Dog” has gone the way of the dinosaurs in dog training. Mom never says “bad dog”. I would be shocked beyond belief if mom or a phone app ever called me a bad dog.
Good Morning All
10:24 am on April 25th, 2013
Mom says if you want a command repeated, just say it around the peck of parrots! (Hence no “bad dog” here…but names get said LOTS.)
10:24 am on April 25th, 2013
Bad!…I’m pretty sure “Bad Dawg” is my middle name…sniff!…All I ever hear is,”Rio, Bad Dawg!”…snort!
10:26 am on April 25th, 2013
We are sorry to learn of Cousin Bob’s passing. Hugs and warm thoughts going out to Rebecca, Jody, and Mick.
Rio, I did not know what to tell you about the baseball game last night so I thought I had best keep my trap shut. If I had told you to stay awake because it will be worth it in the 12th inning, I would have given the final outcome away.
10:27 am on April 25th, 2013
Siber and “bad dog” would never be used in the same sentence.
Herbs: Hahaha…common cents…klever kats.
Alice: We all know how appreciative Staff was of your late night “gift”. snicker.
Rose: Belle Starr speaks often of what fine handlers you and Griz are.
10:27 am on April 25th, 2013
Rio -we are pretty sure it is your first, middle AND last names
giggle
10:32 am on April 25th, 2013
Kats!….Sniff!
10:38 am on April 25th, 2013
Riö: At least these days you have someone else on whom to place (share) the blame. Don’t ever let your friend adopt Beau out. As long as he is there you have nothing to worry about.
10:44 am on April 25th, 2013
Warm thoughts to Rebecca, Jodi and Mick. Sorry to hear of Cousin Bob’s passing.
We had a little rain this morning, but now we are supposed to have 5 days of dry, warm weather. We may be getting garden soil delivered in the next couple of days. Yea!
11:24 am on April 25th, 2013
B&M: Sunny day here too. They say we are in for a dip in temps. One can only hope “they” are wrong.
Sharon: Herd of hounds and repeating parrots. Life can never be dull at your house.
11:28 am on April 25th, 2013
Yes, Riö, kats. Without us your life would not be nearly as interesting.
11:32 am on April 25th, 2013
Hmmm . . I would HATE to see what the Pack would do to either our voices or images saying “Good Dog!”.
First, they are food motivated.
Second, they would bark at the image or voice.
Third, they would just take the iPaw or camera and take it with them. Drool and crunching would commence.
Just ask YSAS who lost two cell phones until he learned.
My thoughts are with Cousin Bob, Jodi, Mick, Rebecca and AJ. God Speed.
Macy, tell your dad that I agree with Golinka’s way of handling the experience problem. Good Luck.
11:48 am on April 25th, 2013
Siber-H: I must agree with Masquers. I would never associate those two words with you.
11:54 am on April 25th, 2013
Melanie, Have you seen the Newf commercial yet? They show it once or twice every day on The Today Show. Still interested in your opinion as to what kind of puppy it is. Kelly thought it might be a lab, but I think the hair is a little too long. It has a spaniel face, a little white on its chin and tip of tail. Could be a cocker, except for that long tail.
Siber, You could never be a Bad Dog!
11:56 am on April 25th, 2013
Woo hoooo! Now we know for sure that the Storyteller is getting better by the minute. He just called and asked Mama to bring him a sandwich cuz the hospital food just sucks.
You would have to know just how NOT food motivated he is to know how big a deal this is. He’s hungry!
We would twirl, but we’re Kats, and it’s not dignified.
(so don’t look – cuz we’re twirling anyway)
12:09 pm on April 25th, 2013
SiberH!…Boy, does he have youse guys fooled…heh!…Remember the time he stole his Maw’s tuna sandwich right off the table?…sniff!…Don’t even get me started on the drainage problems he has caused in the back yard…heh!
12:10 pm on April 25th, 2013
That is good news to hear about the Storyteller. Hospital food is usually not very tasty. Does he get choices every day, or is it just a set menu?
12:15 pm on April 25th, 2013
He does get choices – “Do you want tasteless food, bad food, icky food or the combo plate?”
He was kind of excited about today’s lunch offering – it was Chicken Piccata (one of his favorites), Florentine rice (another favorite) and baby carrots.
He said he ate the carrots and the fruit cup.
Mama has packed a picnic lunch, and they are going to go sit out on the balcony, enjoy the sun and munch out.
12:15 pm on April 25th, 2013
Thank You, Masquers, Rose, and Maggie.
I am very food motivated….so much so that mom thinks of it as bribery.
Great news about Leonard and the sandwich!
12:24 pm on April 25th, 2013
Rio, those episodes you mentioned regarding Siber are very, very minor.
12:33 pm on April 25th, 2013
We have not seen the commercial yet. Maybe I’ll look on-line once again.
We here prefer food motivated rather than bribery.
12:44 pm on April 25th, 2013
pssst, Rio, You forgot to mention the roast chicken I stole.
12:47 pm on April 25th, 2013
SiberH!…Oh yeah! The Roast Chicken Robbery. How can I forget..sniff!…Minor events my @ss..heh!
12:49 pm on April 25th, 2013
Melanie: Mom found the newf commercial as a lead-in for “news” items on line.
Masquers: We think we are enough fun. You added in the peck. Now imagine 2 legged strays she is always bringing home…Gah!
T&G and Herbs: Great Leonard news! Food is a fantastic motivator. Mom uses hot dog pieces and peanut butter, guess not great for big people.
1:01 pm on April 25th, 2013
I was always taking food to mom when she was in assisted living or in the hospital. When I ate with her in the dining room, I could barely eat the food and residents complained a lot. Most would concentrate on eating breakfast which I guess can’t be screwed up too badly. I went through the same thing with dad. Once I couldn’t tell what the meat was and queried what others thought. One said pork, another veal, another chicken…THAT’S BAD! Between my parents, I was familiar with six different assisted living places in two states and only one had great food. I think it is criminal that food is so bad at these places. Residents are elderly and often not well and the bad food doesn’t help. My dad lived for food and was disappointed 3x/day.
1:03 pm on April 25th, 2013
HerbKats, that is great news about the Storyteller. Hospital food is very yucky!
1:09 pm on April 25th, 2013
Appetite! If you are Hungry as a Bear (well, as hungry as me) it is a Good Sign indeed!
C.Hobbit: Not only is the food Not Tasty, it is downright unHealthy!
Golinka & the Storyteller, Enjoy, enjoy your Picnic Lunch.
1:12 pm on April 25th, 2013
“I wandered lonely as a cloud/That floats on high o’er vales and hills,/When all at once I saw a crowd,/A host of golden daffodils” (Wordsworth).
“I never saw daffodils so beautiful; they grew among the mossy stones…and…some rested their heads upon these stones, as on a pillow….They looked so gay” (Dorothy Wordsworth’s Journal).
The daffodils are out. They survived yesterday’s snow.
1:49 pm on April 25th, 2013
Is Leonard still in the hospital or is he in rehab?
1:54 pm on April 25th, 2013
Rehab!…Leonard is in rehab…snuffle!…And eating picnics on patios. That’s how Rehab should always be…heh!
Flowers!…My friend says she needs to learn how to make Daffydills…snort!…Beause they are a cheerful flower. Even when pugs are pissing on them…wheeze!
2:00 pm on April 25th, 2013
Ben!…Everybody gets a Happy Birthday from Spencer except me…grump!…I will never ever forget that as long as I post on this here blog…gurgle!
2:11 pm on April 25th, 2013
Isn’t Ben his son? Spence only wished Melanie happy birthday not anyone else Rio.
2:36 pm on April 25th, 2013
To Ponder . . .
Jonquil
2:38 pm on April 25th, 2013
Vs . .
Daffodil
2:40 pm on April 25th, 2013
Daffydill!…I do not see the big difference…sniff!
2:59 pm on April 25th, 2013
CHobbit: Have you recuperated from Las Vegas yet?
3:01 pm on April 25th, 2013
The Jonquils are a deeper color, but that could just be the photograph. Other than that, I don’t see a difference. They are pretty.
3:10 pm on April 25th, 2013
I think that daffodils and jonquils are both narcissus plants. Here’s a link:

3:24 pm on April 25th, 2013
We always thought they were the same flower.
Barb met Ben when they went to the Naperville book signing last Sept. He was there visiting Spence, since he now lives in Chicago. He was a very nice young man.
Happy Birthday Ben. Our Ben has a birthday on May 5th. Maybe Spence was giving him an early happy birthday.
3:58 pm on April 25th, 2013
Rose: yes, I have recuperated. My wallet however…(coming home to expensive plumbing problems didn’t help). Regardless, I enjoyed my adventure to a different type of wilderness.
4:15 pm on April 25th, 2013
Happy Birthday Ben! My Ben’s birthday was April 17th. Maybe it was a belated Happy Birthday to my Ben!
A Good Diet and Exercise!
That’s what “they” say keeps you healthy and yet, those are the very things missing when you go into hospital.
4:50 pm on April 25th, 2013
CHobbit, I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. When the Prof and I returned from Alaska, our mail box was plenty full of bills, bills, and more bills. Hope the plumbing problems are fixed, and that you didn’t get ripped off.
4:51 pm on April 25th, 2013
Dawson, April 17th is a popular day. My little brother Paul’s birthday on that day. Heh! Little brother….he turned 48!!!
5:08 pm on April 25th, 2013
Back from the picnic on the balcony. It was lovely. Only someone hogged all the gingersnaps and Mama didn’t get even a one!
We have a funny story back from a time when Mama’s Mom was in a rehab. Mama decided to stay for lunch in the dining room one day. The staff brought out the plates, and everyone had salmon burgers. Not a piece of real salmon, but the processed burgers, rolled in breadcrumbs. Grandma always hated salmon in any way shape or form (so does Mama), so she was just picking at her plate and not eating. Mama told her that if she didn’t want the salmon, she could ask for something else. So she did, and had a truly mischievous twinkle in her eye when she did. Sure enough, they brought out a lovely hamburg on a bun. One of the other ladies at the table said, “I want one of those too.” And then another lady said so. And then a gentleman agreed that he would much rather have a burger. So the staff is running back and forth getting hamburgers for the table of revolters. But then the next table got wind of it, and started ordering burgers, then the table after them etc. Soon, there were burgers on every table and a whole lot of nasty salmon patties in the trash. One of the staff came over to scold Grandma, and said to her, “See what you started?” Grandma looked her dead in the eye, and said, “Yup. Great isn’t it?”
Mama almost fell out of her chair laughing.
5:14 pm on April 25th, 2013
Great story. Our mom wants to grow up to be like that!
6:12 pm on April 25th, 2013
Wose: Your little brother is only 7 years older than my Ben which makes me an old fart.
6:25 pm on April 25th, 2013
Disaster! Shorn like a sheep once again.

6:42 pm on April 25th, 2013
Sam: I think you’re beautiful.
6:42 pm on April 25th, 2013
Sam: Pookey here. Trust me, it could be worse. Thank dawg mom hasn’t figured out how to load fotos yet ’cause they shaved me for the surgery and got carried away! I look like a combination lion, chinese crested and pot-bellied pig 🙁
6:43 pm on April 25th, 2013
Such a super sheep!
Gracie Update . . Infection is not in the joint. Thank Dog. Still an infection though so she is now on two antibiotics.
I have finished my niece’s present, gone for a walk and been a monager. Time to relax. Knocking forehead on wood.
7:06 pm on April 25th, 2013
Sam, Your new style looks very nice. The world can see your cute face.
7:16 pm on April 25th, 2013
T&G: When I grow up, I want to be just like your grand mum AND your mum. They certainly know how to get things done!
Oh, Sammie, you are so adorable!
Siber-H, I see your handsome self over on the right. I am getting into The Patron Saint of Lost Dogs.” I love it! I think you will too.
Dawson, you are a babe in the woods!
7:16 pm on April 25th, 2013
Poor little Sammy. She looks so sad. Maybe she should have an egg to cheer her up. I bet her hair would grow back faster if she had an egg.
We are grateful we got to meet Bob when we crashed his house and had the party. He was very nice to us house crashers. It was nice to be there with him and the family.
Rio, I am glad you stayed up for the finish. It was worth the 12 innings I bet. Because you mentioned it I remembered the quilt and went down to transfer it to the dryer.
Today I was making a quilt with other members of the local hand crank and treadle group. We were in the community room of a library and people kept coming in to look at the beautiful old sewing machines. (And the quilt in progress)
7:21 pm on April 25th, 2013
Sammy, it will grow back! In the mean time, you are very cute. Don’t feel sad.
8:33 pm on April 25th, 2013
Sammie – tell ya what – you go roll in some catnip, and we will bat you around like one of our catnip mousies.
giggle
8:43 pm on April 25th, 2013
Sammie!….That is NOT Sammie. That is an imposter…sniff!sniff!…I can’t believe you guys fell for that prank…heh!
9:08 pm on April 25th, 2013
Hey Guys! We’ve been outside all evening. The ‘rents were riding, and we were bossing those horses around.
Condolences to Jodi, Mick, Cousin Judy, Bella, and AJ on the loss of their great friend Bob. We here loved the party we went to at Cousin Bob’s house.
Great news on the Storyteller’s continuing improvement.
Kat knows Bad Kat and Good Girl. She prefers Good Girl.
9:10 pm on April 25th, 2013
Herbs: Grrrrrrrr(oops)eat attitude! What if someone gave you a haircut ya’ll didn’t like? Would the excuse be “You had so many hairballs. This will be better!

Barb is going to watch Argo. Night all. Sweet dreams.

Your Royal Highness Princess Sam, whatever you did to deserve that punishment, they’ll get over it and then they are going to feel really bad for what they have done to you. Want me to grab them by the pantleg?
9:18 pm on April 25th, 2013
Magpie you’re right that is me for sure and that green cushion right behind me, they seem to think I made those holes in it. Anyway now what do I do? I have no hair. What if my audition for the princess role comes up now?
9:21 pm on April 25th, 2013
Couch!….Cushions. Hell, we have couch cushions…sniff!…Everyone has couch cushions. So it does not surprise me that this Sammie-Imposter would use familiar couch cushions to help sell the ruse….sniff!
9:38 pm on April 25th, 2013
Rockies!. …They are gearing up to mess with some sneaky Snakes tonight. At least they in warm weather finally…heh!heh!…That 20 degree crap was just too much to bear..sniff!
9:38 pm on April 25th, 2013

Ears!…The Sammie-Imposter has no ears….gasp!
9:48 pm on April 25th, 2013

Rebecca, The box of dog coats left Minneapolis on Tuesday and went to Des Moines, Iowa. Why I wonder is a package bound for Alaska going south? I hope the marauding goats are not involved. It says that the expected arrival date is May 7th. Hopefully by that time I will have the next package on its way. Get out of my way you goats.
10:23 pm on April 25th, 2013
May 7th!…Did you send it Snail-Mail-Especially-Slow rate?…grunt!
10:29 pm on April 25th, 2013
Rio, Dawson sent it the least expensive way with insurance to cover replacement costs and tracking. Heh. We are saving the rest of the money for more coats.

Fun . . Now TTF zzzzzzzzzzz

I have to admit that I get “bad dogged'” twice a day. Belle should just eat faster so I don’t have to help her finish.
The folks are in Austin now, having adult beverages with cousins of mom’s that she met on face book three weeks ago. Last month she didn’t know they existed and tonight party central!
Sorry for the loss of Bob. I didn’t make it to that party.
Highly nighties.
10:53 pm on April 25th, 2013
Me too, Rio, but I will be glad when the Rockies are not playing teams to the west of us.
11:00 pm on April 25th, 2013
Tied!…Now the game is tied, but it is only TOP of the 4th inning…gah!… We stayed up too late last night and now I know we will never make it to the end of this game…grunt!…That stinks big time. But tomorrow is Friday Night and we will be there come hell or high water for the End of the Game…snort!

The Snakes are now ahead by 2 runs. gasp
GO ROCKIES!!!
Night All

I am twirling and grumpy at the same time. I received something in the mail today addressed to me, me, me! That never happens. I’m grumpy because I had to wait for my Two-legged to get back from a long day of travel so I could open it. I’m twirling. I’m spinning. I’m grumpy. I’m twirling.
Good Luck to Macy’s pop at his big interview.
Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts about Cousin Bob. I don’t what to say about him other than he was like a dog—you couldn’t help but like him. That is the highest of compliments.
Nighty noodes.
