Potpourri (Whatever That Is)

First, to Cosmo – good to hear from you, buddy. As for delish – I picked that up from Bernie’s mom. A piece of work, maybe more on her later. And as for Rachael Ray and cooking shows, we watch them sometimes, me and Bernie, but I always get hungry right away and head for my bowl.

Also, about our Little Detective Agency business cards (scroll down to January 16) – anyone who wants one, just send a mailing address to spence.quinn@gmail.com and you’ll get one!

Finally, Spence says RIP to Robert Parker “who made it look easy.”

And gave such a nice generous quote for Dog On It – Admin

Cool about the cards– too bad I didn't ask yesterday for one of those. I always thought of 'delish' as more of a Sammy Davis Jr.-ism, but maybe I'm just "hittin' the nip," as my kitties would say.

I'm so glad Cosmo is doing well. So sad about Robert Parker and he wasn't that old. I'm sending in my request for a business card.

Rebecca – you'll get one inside the book. (May be a slight delay – have to coordinate with NY. Have I ever mentioned that whole part of things?)

I have to type fast – Mom is yelling for me to get off the computer. But when I first looked here, I thought "potpourri" said "different stuff." Oh dear. Now Mom will have to take me to the vet to get my eyes checked.

Thanks a bunch Chet & B. Stover! Ahhh, of course Bernies' mom, looking forward to hearing more about her…I'll have to look more into the cooking show thing, sounds fun, although I'm with you on the hungry thing, doesn't take much.

Said about Robert Parker – one of the greats

We'd love one of your guy's business cards! The request is on the way…

    Long Live Robert Parker.

I just saw an old movie (Stone Cold) on TV. There was an absolutely beautiful golden retriever in that movie – played by Joe:

Cosmo, whaz smeeling? Mac here. Glad you're okay. My bit of extra that was snipped was okay too.

Did you have to wear that collar thing? I did for 3 minutes. When I was trying to hide between Dan's legs, they decided I didn't really need it. They kept saying "Bull in a china shop." Couldn't smell one, though I have broken china.

Cosmo, glad to have you back with us!

My mom will send in the request for the card for me. What a great idea the business card is. Thanks in advance for it. I have plans. I'm going to show it to all my girlfriends at the dog park. I know the card will make a big impression on them.

Chet: You ARE the dog… We just finished your latest book and it was TREmendous!

My mom reads a lot when not working on the computer and loves both your books. She did seem concerned, though, at the end of this last book. Loved it, though.

She had pre-ordered it online and was pretty happy when she'd received word that it'd been sent.

My BFF is a Border Collie named Sadie and her mom originally loaned us your first book.

Thanks so much for seeing things through our eyes!

Hey – if you ever need a sidekick, please let me know.

    Best, Oaklee

    Hey Chet,

I have a funny story about Robert B Parker. My staff was turned onto him by her sister, the librarian, last year. So she read them all this summer in order…Yep, all of them. Then, when she was almost done with them, in order, she found 'Dog On It' in the library and brought it home. Read it. Loved it. But she was sure that Spencer Quinn was a Robert B. Parker pseudonym. Absolutely sure.

First off, the name, SPENCER Quinn.

Second off, Bernie is just like Spenser. Really seems like it to her. I still think that Bernie 'channels' Spenser.

Third off, Chet. Chet is a Smart Dog that is true and all Spenser's Dogs seem to be spoiled elite's but still he was obviously a Dog guy. Always has a dog in his Spenser stories. Always has a dog on the back cover photo.

So she was sure he was having a little joke on all the mystery readers out there.

She was sort of disappointed to find out she was wrong. She isn't any more though. Glad it is you, Chet.

So that is my Robert B Parker story.

She is sending in for a business card. Can't wait to get it.
