Good morning, BSD and everyone! We were watching that silly lamb so you beat us to the blog 🙂 We agree with the O’H that you ARE up early. Those borders obviously know how to herd. Now we wonder who is more confused, a lamb that thinks it a dog or herders who think 4 to 1 is a good herding ratio!
Mom still feels like it is a weekend day, sheesh!
Think we will have a fragmentary Friday so we don’t confuse any more days.

Very cute indeed. Pet looks like she might be a Shetland breed, that is what we had in the country before we had the goats. They come in all colors and are a fleece sheep rather than a meat breed. All dumb however.

And why does everyone have a BC named Fly?

Good morning all. Getting packed up to leave for work and then hanging out with the Grands. Everyone seems healthy at the moment, so hope their are no lingering germs. I will be taking Airborne and Vitamin C.

Rio, I think I can tell you where I am in the book, without a spoiler. She is being called Lydia by someone.

Hello All and a Gracious Good Morning.
Staff–Bang the Drum Slowly is an excellent choice, and the last line is truly moving.
ALR–I understand the difficulty (and I have several–the Wodehouse one had just been on my mind. Another all-time favorite: “[He] felt and overwhelming desire to do something, but the feeling passed” (this is pretty much a description of my life).
T and G’s Mama–I had forgotten about that one, but you’re right–quite illustrative.
HOH–I don’t know why that wouldn’t count (and have you seen the one for felines–Human is saying something along the lines of “Who’s a beautiful girl?” and you see a completely empty thought balloon over the animal’s head…
Those of you with impending snow and storm warnings, be safe, everyone have a happy day.

Rio, you will get a year of monitoring. I’ve had it twice already, but not from a security breach as serious as the Anthem one. The last one I got is protectmyid.com. When the year expires, you can just pay to renew it, or look elsewhere, of course. Lifelock is supposed to be good.

Which reminds me: When I was still teaching, a colleague and I team taught a class that was putting together a manual for a new computer system that was being installed. (She was in the computer science department.) As I was proofreading, I told her that, “if there’s a banned error in this, my life is over.”

  42. B.Stover
    11:28 am on February 6th, 2015

There is another error in that same comment. (I used past tense when referring to the poem. The “rule” is that one should always refer to literature in the present tense since it “is” in the present even if the author isn’t.)

And way to go Zeus…and Tupper’s Mama.

  46. O'Howlers
    12:00 pm on February 6th, 2015

Large amounts of data are not normally encrypted. Security, in the form of good firewalls and locked-down servers, are what is used to protect data. We didn’t read how the Anthem breach occurred.

  47. Mpop's and Loulou's Mom
    12:02 pm on February 6th, 2015

Masquers, I don’t think that data gets encrypted. Dealing with unencrypting and then encrypting it again slows down the computer system.

Rio – on our news last night, the financial reported said that the best way to protect yourself was to go to the big 3 credit reporting agencies and put a freeze on any new credit lines. If you need to take a loan or a credit card out in the future, you just have to “un-freeze” your credit line, and after the transaction, put a freeze back on it. The reported said it is actually a good idea for everyone to put a freeze on their credit lines if they don’t have any plans to do a credit app any time in the near future.

By the time I arrived on Wednesday at Friend’s busy place to have a huffle and gruffle and a pep talk with the Hotshot followed by a piece of hard candy—firm and loving is my way—Rio’s Friend had already done it all less the hard candy. I decided to stay anyway. Friend’s coworkers seemed to be bothered that none of the envelopes I licked had anything in them. It didn’t bother me. Rio: I will help where I can at the busy place. I like that place. Free kawfee, a watercooler worth tipping over, chairs on wheels that corner like they’re on rails, and entire room of office supplies with envelopes waiting to be licked. Plus Friend is there. What could be better, I ask youse?

Busy-Place!…Luna, you speak of a place I have never been and am not allowed to go to…sniff!…It sounds like a wonderful, magical place….wheeze!… Did you see the lunchroom? Was there free food and flowing beer? Were there nice little beds to rest upon in the breakroom? Was there big-screen TV’s for entertainment and bowls of pop-corn everywhere?…chuffle!…I can imagine it all, oh yes I can…((sigh!))

Rio: That must have been what was behind that door that had a sign on it that said conference room. I will investigate next week.

MTMP: Tell ML to make sure she has comfortable shoes for that 8 hour (gasp!) shift. And try to put your feet up on breaks.

I’m off to read Miss Julia.

Rio: I think you are dreaming!
