“Still a day that will live in infamy?” Spence says. “Or are we more relativistic by now?”
“Relativistic?” says Admin. “Fie!”
Welcome Alex the border collie.

Good morning, everyone! Infamous act, infamous date, now historical.
Perhaps a satirical Saturday is in order?
9:08 am on December 7th, 2013
Good morning, HOH and Admin and Chet and Spence and All.
December 7th! Already?
We have to look up those 2 words.
We just watched the funny video of dogs terrified of cats. What saps. T.C. Is ROFL.

Good morning from the show. We are here, our booth is straightened out and open. Bring on the customers!
We had some fun this morning. We got bunches of candy canes, and then we got here first thing this morning. Leonard walked around and put two or three canes at every artists’ booth. Artists are now coming in and finding them and asking who gave them out. “Santa” we tell everyone, with a straight and innocent face. It is the talk of the show – everyone trying to figure it out.

For some reason I’m reminded of the film “Hiroshima Mon Amour” which I used to teach.
Good morning all.

Greetings!
Yes, today is Pearl Harbor Day. I take time out on this day to silently honor the men and women who lost their lives for the love and freedom of the U.S. Thank you.
Royal Mum: What a fun thing to do! Hope you sell out today!
Teddy: You are most welcome! Now we can both remember our fun day, and you can cheer on your team! I think your name was spelled correctly.
Siber-H and RIO! I may get a chance to see a lot of Rockies games, but GO ROCKIES ! I remember that picture of youse guys. RIO! How did that trophy taste!
Chiccarones! You can’t eat that bag crap! I grew up eating plenty of roasted pork. ( store purchased). My mom would roast a big pork shoulder for dinner, and everyone would fight for a piece. As it is being roasted, the top becomes nice and crunchy, while the bottom that has been in the drippings is nice and chewy. YUMMY! Talking about this is making me miss my mom. sob

Questions:
OHs: How is Fern doing?
MPM: Hoping that LouLou is on the road to being tip-top! How is he today?
CHobbit: I hope your back feels better. Any word on your lost papers?
Nana: I hope you are feeling better each and every day!
Rebecca: Wherever you are , don’t get sick!
Tenzing: How are you feeling? BTW, how is the Giant feeling?
10:55 am on December 7th, 2013
Heh, heh. Spence & Admin are very clever with words this morning.
B: Mom and her friend saw the movie at a neighborhood Art theatre many, many years ago.
We watched Flight last night on Amazon Prime.

So, you do have the HOH’s sun. We want it BACK. Don’t like these here gloomies 🙁
11:10 am on December 7th, 2013
Masquers: How did youse like FLIGHT? Grizz and I saw it in the theatre! and liked it very much.
11:31 am on December 7th, 2013
3 inches of snow. Below 30, but already melting.
Didn’t sleep last night. Have no idea when I’ll be back on the Blog.
11:50 am on December 7th, 2013
Melanie: Last night after watching the movie, tried a different bed…colder room but quieter…more zzzzz’s was the result. This solution wouldn’t help you as the Pack brings their own heating element.
Rose: Liked the movie…surprised to find it as a freebie on Prime.
Chiccarones! So that’s their official name. BSD has been known to partake of this snack.
Royals: Nice gesture! Have a blockbuster sales day.
HOH: We may have the sun, but it’s not helping temperature-wise.
12:01 pm on December 7th, 2013
We believe in Karma, so we think Amalia and The Storyteller will have a good day with few-to-no rude customers.
Bone chilling cold here, but will be better tomorrow with snow in the afternoon.
Personally, we did not care much for Flight. Acting was very good but story line was somewhat depressing, what with all the boozing and drugging. Maybe true to life, but not uplifting.
We also would like an update of Fern. And hope Loulou has a good day.
Off to the grocery to get some green things and a quick run to the post office to mail more cards.
12:19 pm on December 7th, 2013
Maggie up top!
Masquers, Grizz and I like a colder room to sleep in as well. Before he goes to bed , Grizz will tun down the thermostat, and turn the fan on in our room. We also use earplugs, and have room darkening shades. It does seem to help.
12:20 pm on December 7th, 2013
Flight was a good movie, but Mom was wishing she had not watched it before her flight to Seattle. We here love Denzel though. We can’t resist any movie he is in.
Barb, Fern spent a little time in the yard with her sisters. All of the girls except one, were sweet to her. The Welsummer once again attacked her. They locked Helen up in the run and Fern was good with the others. There was a little dust-up between her and Isabel (Buff) when Fern tried to peck food from her. No biggie. Then a bit later, they let Helen out, and once again she attacked Fern. Now the flock are all back in their run, and Fern is back in the house.
Dima is going on a road trip in a little while.
12:29 pm on December 7th, 2013
Dima, hope all is well.
Helen, don’t be such a chickbitch.
I hurt my back leg. And I can’t get anyone to carry me around. Wahh!
12:32 pm on December 7th, 2013
Macy, if I can get you up to my house, my folks will spoil you rotten just like they do for Fern (and me!).
I am going to see my special doc so he can tell the rents what an excellent specimen I am. Then I will probably get a special treat on the way home. That’s the way I roll.
12:50 pm on December 7th, 2013
O’Howlers: There’s always one Bully in every Hen House it seems. Poor Fern! (or maybe not…)
Dima: Glad to hear this is a routine Doc visit.
Macy: Did you slip on the ice and snow yesterday?
Barb&Magpie: Flight was indeed depressing in the sense it showed how Addicts get on a downward spiral and lose all control…lying even (especially) to themselves. Makes one wonder how many pilots have gone out on the town the night before a flight. Never mind…we are not going to go there…as the O’Howlers pointed out…not a movie to be watched before a flying across county. And, we can bet it was not one chosen for an inflight movie either.
Waiting to hear from SnowBella.
12:59 pm on December 7th, 2013
It would be Barb’s luck to get on a flight showing “Flight”.
1:09 pm on December 7th, 2013
O’Howlers: how do you discipline a chicken who bullies? heh
Wose: having to replace everything this week which took hours. Back better but the roads are so bad that the stress and tension is not helping.
More later.
1:13 pm on December 7th, 2013
We are whining about sun when CHobbit has no ID and shiitake roads. Bad us.
1:44 pm on December 7th, 2013
Loulou is actually perky today. Last night Sam’s whole family came to visit – sans Sam – and Loulou just went from one to the other for hugs and sympathy. When we went to bed I put the cone on her and she put up a fight and thrashed around after it was on. I turned the light off thinking she’d settle down, but she thrashed and then fell out of bed. She was not injured any further that I could tell. She did sleep fine for the rest of the night, however, tonight we’ll do without the cone. I may be awake a lot just to make sure she’s not working on her stitches. Certainly it will be better than last night was.
B, Hiroshima Mon Amour is one of my favorite films.
2:32 pm on December 7th, 2013
RIP Brian
Brian H Griffin was born in Austin, Texas, one of a litter of five. What the initial H stood for in his name remains a mystery, though some have theorised it stood for nothing and demonstrated he was a pretentious douche. His father was a guard dog called Coco; his mother, Biscuit, reportedly abandoned him.

HOH mom, if you are willing to share it, would you send me your Contact info, ie name and address. Same to Siber Husky and Rio. I guess it is too much to hope for mr. Redbone Hound to send his. (dainty licks, darlin’)

Oklahoma had an earthquake, and during the Oklahoma State, U of OK football game one team kicked a field goal DURING the earthquake. Ya don’t see that everyday!

Obviously, not everyone is iced in and bored today.

Mollypop’s Mom: Here’s a link to an article/review I found online of Hiroshima Mon Amour. At the end, it quotes some of what I consider the most powerful lines from the film.

Princess Sam, I don’t know how to put it in dishlickers. I think Staff once did it for me.

Princess Sam: Too much techno pressure…we are lucky to SDD. Will try but no guarantee.
4:54 pm on December 7th, 2013
We will send you info too Macy. Just read our SDD and see that you need it.
Barb does have some insight into chicken psychology, and once cured a mean rooster of attacking other roos. It was either cure him or off to the soup pot. It might be a little harsh for Oley’s gentle folks but let us know if you want us to share our advanced behavior modification techniques.

Parteeee!….My friend says she is going to the busy-place Christmas Party tonight…snort!….Because she hated her job and disliked the people she worked with she has not gone in years and years…sniff!…But this year she decided she is going to go. And she even has a ride…heh!heh!…I bet she will drink while she is there…burp!

RIO! I hope your friend has a great time at the party. Will there be mistletoe at this party?
5:55 pm on December 7th, 2013
Have a great time Rio’s friend. You have a DD so you can indulge, just no so much that you tell those old co-workers (especially Old Boney Fingers) what you really think of them, should you run across them.
6:39 pm on December 7th, 2013
Barb!…Don’t worry, none of those people will show up at the party…heh!heh!…No one likes them…snort!…Well, she is all ready and waiting for her ride to show up in about 20 minutes or so..sniffle!…What the hell am I supposed to do all evening?…wheeze!
6:47 pm on December 7th, 2013
I am back! They shaved more of my belly fur. I don’t know how they think i can be a farm husky this winter with my fur all missing. I got a special sound thing and then my special doc told the ‘rents exactly what i knew he would tell them: there is no apparent cancer inside this old belly, Amigos! I had ice cream from Friendly’s on the way home.
Barb, mom would appreciate any chicken advice you wish to impart. Thanks.
6:49 pm on December 7th, 2013
Yea Dima!
6:51 pm on December 7th, 2013
Dima: No fair! You got your 6 months results. Mom did tests yesterday and has to wait till Tuesday to find out. Dogs have priority.
6:52 pm on December 7th, 2013
Dima, We are overwhelmed at the good news.
6:58 pm on December 7th, 2013
Just read this lovely way to describe dusk: Entre chien et loup, “between dog and wolf.”
B&M: Barb the chicken therapist.
Good news Dima!
7:09 pm on December 7th, 2013
OK, here is what Barb did in Chicken Psychology 101:
Barb had a rooster who was picking on the other guys. So she tied his legs together and laid him in the chicken yard (safe from predators). The other 2 roosters came over and pecked on him a bit, nothing too vicious. After an hour or two Barb let him up. In his little chicken mind, he thought he was no longer king of the flock and dominate rooster. From that day on, he never picked on anyone.
So, our advice: Take the offending hen and gently tie her legs together and place her on a little blanket or towel in the enclosed yard. When she is tied down she will not struggle. Then put Fern in with her. Fern will probably go over and peck her a little. Keep an eye on them to make sure it doesn’t get out of hand. Probably should keep the other hens away, since she has not been picking on them and they most certainly will join in the festivities. If Fern has established her dominance, let Helen up and see how she responds to Fern. Chances are, she will think Fern is stronger than her and will leave her alone. Barb was amazed at how it worked out for her flock.
7:27 pm on December 7th, 2013
Dima, We are very happy to hear the good news!! WOO WOO
7:39 pm on December 7th, 2013
Barb, I will consider that method if/when Fern is strong enough to even walk over to Helen. At this point, she is not there, and Helen may not even bother her once she is able to get around. But it makes sence if a hen thinks she is in charge. Helen is most definitely not in charge. In fact, our theory is that perhaps Helen considers herself at the bottom of the pecking order and sees Fern’s infirmity as a way for her to move up a rung.

Sense
7:43 pm on December 7th, 2013
Dima could you and mom be twins since both of you have had spleens removed?
7:53 pm on December 7th, 2013
Oleys, They say that if a flock of chickens does not have a rooster to be in charge, then on of the hens will take over the job and be the flock leader. One of your hens will be dominate. They will always pick on a weak member rather than console her. It is just what chickens do.
It makes sense that you are saying Helen want to improve her ranking.
At this point, we say give them more time and use our technique as a last resort.
7:54 pm on December 7th, 2013
HOH, Does your mom love ice cream? If so, we are definitely twins.
7:59 pm on December 7th, 2013
Dima, Moose Tracks!!! Wow! Mom loves it! Will only bring vanilla to the 4 leggers.
YES< we are twins.
8:10 pm on December 7th, 2013
Greetings from the hotel after the show. Another long day, but nary a nasty or rude customer in sight. That’s kind of the way Cultural Survival shows go – they market to people who are interested in ethnic art, and in supporting the artists.
So the only thing bad about the day is that we have sold out of the fetish bears, and all the ones that were just finished this week are sitting home on the work bench. sigh.
But we will have them next week.
And Dima – a BIG Woo Hoo from us. We said HEAL! GOOD Doggie!
And Barb – your chicken cure sounds very smart to us.
Rio – hope you friend has a grand time at the party. Tell her to have one for us. And follow it up with some pork rinds.
9:23 pm on December 7th, 2013
When I was on Dishlickers earlier, I cleaned it up a little. I moved all the recipes to the cookbook file where they will be easier to find. Also some of the addresses that were sent as mail have been moved to contacts. In contacts, you have to click on the name you want to get the address.

Macy – you sweet little homemaker, you.

Buuurrrp!…My friend is home and drinking an alka-seltzer…grunt!…We all stayed up to welcome her home…heh!heh!…She says she needs some time before going to bed what with all the food she ate, and then there was that wine…wheeze!…She met a few people face to face that she only knows via SDD so that was good. Alas, she did not win any raffle prizes. But lots of people she knew did so that was a good thing, I guess…grunt!…All in all it was a very good time this evening….burp! belch! gurgle!
