10:15 am on August 29th, 2014
We are in charge of the computer today. This must be as a reward for our act of valor. You see, we killed a snake and left if for Mama.
Now this is only remarkable if you remember that we are INDOOR only Kats. So therefore……
Yup, you got it.
Mama is sitting around with her feet up off the floor. You should see her trying to walk without touching down, too.
10:17 am on August 29th, 2014
EEK!!!! Herbs, How did you kill it? I don’t want to have to do that. No way!
10:20 am on August 29th, 2014
(Lucy Lou) I love to dispatch snakes. I leave them in little pieces in the yard for the mom to find. Am I a good girl or what?
10:22 am on August 29th, 2014
GAH!…Snake in the house!!…snort…Holy Terror!…yeeep!
10:23 am on August 29th, 2014
“Chet and Bernie, always a winning combination” High paws to that!
10:26 am on August 29th, 2014
We have a pet Garter snake that lives under a corner of our raised tomato garden. He is really big. Barb will not use the weed whacker back there cause she doesn’t want to hit him. We probably wouldn’t be thrilled about one in the house!!
Barb says she is taking me to the v*e*t this morning to get my nails trimmed, my very favorite thing to do.
10:31 am on August 29th, 2014
Oh Maggie, we love your humor…fav thing to do.
10:32 am on August 29th, 2014
Here we poured concrete to take care of toe nails 🙂
10:33 am on August 29th, 2014
Greetings!
Basil & Sage: You are the Batman and Robin of the kat world!! Youse rock!!!!
Spence: Just remember , talent doesn’t need luck! : )
Tomorrow is the big day for RIo’s friend!!! I
10:45 am on August 29th, 2014
Awww – it was no big thing. And it wasn’t even the first time. We aren’t sure how they get in, but they do.
Much to our delight and Mama’s horror.
10:45 am on August 29th, 2014
Just so youse know, I myself had to be a brave girl today also. There were many big mean men here to clean the furnace (or so they said). There were in MY cellar. So I had to find myself a good hiding spot upstairs. Even Mommy does not know where I hid. When
she I determined it was All Clear, I very nonchalantly went about asking for Pounce and waiting for my food bowls to be replaced. (a story for another time)10:46 am on August 29th, 2014
EEK! I typo’d Strike!
Just so youse know, I myself had to be a brave girl today also. There were many big mean men here to clean the furnace (or so they said). There were in MY cellar. So I had to find myself a good hiding spot upstairs. Even Mommy does not know where I hid. When

Why wait for tomorrow when we can tell a good story today?
While those guys were working in the cellar, we took advantage of the opportunity of the outside cellar door being opened. Up the steps we went, to the place where T.C.’s food is kept, supposedly out of our reach. Yumm. That girl sure gets a lot of food!
10:49 am on August 29th, 2014
HOH, Up at a normal time for me, but onto the computer earlier than usual.
Basil and Sage, Was it in the basement or on the main floor? Yeep. I heard of a house about 6 miles away from here that had lots of snakes. Couldn’t keep them out. Sounded awful to me, but we don’t have any poisonous snakes up here in the north country. Thank Cat!
10:50 am on August 29th, 2014
Bad Howlers!
10:53 am on August 29th, 2014
(Lucy Lou here) STAFF: I can blurr by to deal with those SSSSSSlihery snakes. I love to tear them apart. Just give me the word and I’l be there.
10:56 am on August 29th, 2014
Who or what is Pounce?
11:04 am on August 29th, 2014
Maggie, Pounce is a brand name of cat treats, but is also the generic name I use for any of my treats. Mommy shakes that container, and I come a’runnin’.
11:12 am on August 29th, 2014
Oh T.C. you are a very lucky girl.
11:15 am on August 29th, 2014
Oh no, I am not. Those huskies get so many more kinds of treats than this poor girl.
11:24 am on August 29th, 2014
Treats!…Sounds like the Howlers got all the treats this morning…heh!heh!…I’ve never had a Kat-Treatie. Wonder what they taste like…slurp!
11:50 am on August 29th, 2014
Tomorrow!….My friend will be on a Plane at the same time Spence is on a Panel…snort!…Those two things have all the same letters in them…heh!…I know there has to be a secret meaning to that somehow…grunt!
11:54 am on August 29th, 2014
Rio – we have stolen….um, make that indulged in many a kitty treat whenever we can get them. Not bad – not bad at all.
Those Wrotten Kats are walking around here like they conquered a 20 foot anaconda or something. Come to think of it, that is kind of how Mama is acting too. Jeez, it was just a little pencil long garter snake. They get in the lower part of the house somehow. We thought it was under the old door, but we have a new, weather tight door, so HOW DO THEY GET IN?
12:10 pm on August 29th, 2014
T&G: Any way they want 🙂
12:24 pm on August 29th, 2014
HoHo!…Slither on over to your SDD…snort!
12:35 pm on August 29th, 2014
Basil&Sage: What strong and courageous kitties!
O’Howlers: Good doggies! This is an advanced course in the counter surfing class taught by Trigger and requires “constant vigilance”.
HOH, Rio & Spencer: Don’t forget your passports!

1:34 pm on August 29th, 2014
Senior: I meant no offense. I didn’t know you had worked out a plan to leave your yard. Do you not remember when we met during the race in March. You came out to the kennel and we sniffed and whiffed each other in greeting.
1:36 pm on August 29th, 2014
Junior!…I do indeedy-do remember. How could I forget your eyebrows?…heh!heh!
1:39 pm on August 29th, 2014
Rio: Eyebrows! Do you think your Friend will help me find my eyebrows? I wonder if she has eyebrows, too? If she does, I wonder if she knows where they are.
1:44 pm on August 29th, 2014
Eyebrows?
1:46 pm on August 29th, 2014
What a minute! Senior, have you indeedy worked out a plan, diabolical or otherwise, to leave your yard and come north to Alaska?
1:47 pm on August 29th, 2014
Have a fun weekend, Spence.
We haven’t had any snakes in the house but we do get an occasional lizard.
I read this morning that Google (yes, Google), has delivered dog treats by drone in Australia. I am preparing a landing pad this weekend.
Tomorrow is takeoff day for Rio’s Friend!
1:49 pm on August 29th, 2014

Splort? splort? We’d love to splort along with ya. Any one else?
4:45 pm on August 29th, 2014
Sharon, what the? You know about Decatur. Didn’t you already say you were going to try to go and would be taking tomatoes? Isn’t it 2-3 hours from you?
4:53 pm on August 29th, 2014
So many brave companions here! I have almost never seen a snake in the wild (or in the house) which makes me just as happy, but I do feel sort of sorry for the snakes. We do get lizards, but they’re too fast for Edgar, Conan and Ms. P. (Sadly, when outside often not too fast for power mowers which sometimes leave parts around. If fell sorry for them, too.)
4:55 pm on August 29th, 2014
…that last should have read “I feel sorry for them, too…”
Even for baby possums, despite their scary teeth (they also have a high and public mortality rate around here.)
5:05 pm on August 29th, 2014
T.C.: You do good work with your mommy! When I had my kat, Kelly, he LOVED Pounce treats.
5:07 pm on August 29th, 2014
RIO! I am splorting with excitement for your friend!
5:54 pm on August 29th, 2014
DianeC. Did you know that opossums have 40 SHARP teeth? From the time they are born? We here get a kick out of ‘possums and rackety-coons. BARK,BARK,BARK.
6:43 pm on August 29th, 2014

6:53 pm on August 29th, 2014

HOH: We here take our professional development seriously. It is good to develop new skills. Right now we are in a one-step program. At its core it is all about staying one-step ahead of the law, or in our case, our Lady.
Rio: there is no time like the present. Get your decoy pug balloon ready and we’ll handle the rest. Sleep well. We blur at dawn. Not really, but it is more fun to say than we blur ten minutes after your friend leaves for the airport.
10:24 pm on August 29th, 2014
Yeeep!…I have to pack! I was so busy watching my friend pack that I did NOT pack my little knapsack…wheeze!…Gimmee a minute or maybe over-night. Dawn(ish) sounds good. Where did I bury my harmonica?…Yawn!Burp!

10:42 pm on August 29th, 2014
LOL now nighty night YAWN!
10:51 pm on August 29th, 2014
Oooo….I was just contacted to see if I can do an emergency foster. Meet Quill who I will pick up tomorrow morning. He tangled with a porcupine and some of the quills were deep enough he had to come to Anchorage and see the vet. I don’t know if this is a short-term or long-term foster. Crossed fingers that it goes well. At least there will be a lot of hands on deck for petting. I didn’t want to say no just because I had guests coming.
10:54 pm on August 29th, 2014
CHobbit!…Next stop Seattle!…snort!…Then final next stop Anchorage!…heh!..I hope you are there to pick up my friend or she will be sob!sob!sobbing!…grunt!…Later CHobbit-Gator!…WOOOOOOO!

11:01 pm on August 29th, 2014
Hi Qwill, don’t let them pet you where it hurts.
Rio’s friend must do the tunnel. Rio has already done it. The scenery will be totally different this time of year. I have a feeling that Whittier looks better covered with snow.
Nitey Nite, safe flight (to the lucky one getting to go)
