“And maybe another reason to get rid of the penny,” Admin says.

That is a sad story. Barb’s mom had a Westie, named Noel. Very sweet dog. She liked to eat things she shouldn’t, wWonder if that is common with Westies.
Who knew that about pennies! Barb’s old Airedale, Xander, used to eat socks and underwear. Never needed surgery.
Good morning all.

Funny but true Xander story. This goes back to the time when son Josh was a young man and still living at home, single but dating. One day Xander was out in the back yard, and was straining, unable to complete his poop. Barb went over and saw that something was stuck, so she got a paper towel and gave him a gentle assist. Turned out to be black thong panties, very small. Looked exactly like when they were eaten. Could have been washed and returned, however, Barb threw them out and never mentioned a word to Josh. Snicker

Good morning all.

Good morning! We arrived home from Wose and the quilt late last night. We snuck in because mama was asleep. She had two very long days that started before the crack of dark. It was difficult to leave Wose, but she assured us she was feeling well enough for life outside the quilt. Wose, don’t be shy if you need us again. We will be at your side quicker than a certain pug running toward a plate of hot wings.
The big race will be here before we know it and the invitation for the Plunderers to join us is a standing one.
Wolfie: How did you get the photo of Rio trying on disguises?
9:11 am on April 24th, 2013
Greetings!
Turning out to be a beautiful day here in Westchester! Temps in the 70’s are predicted.
O’Howlers, read your post from last night. Fares to Alaska are pretty inexpensive at the moment. Would youse guys come too?
Bear, I have decided to read “The Patron Saint of Lost Dogs” by Nick Trout. I’ve read a few pages. I’ll keep you updated.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day!

Luna: I miss you and Belle Starr already. sniff
Belle Starr: Silly me, I just realized when that TV station came to interview the Giant and your two-legged mama, you are the very first dog seen….sparkly and in close-up.
9:25 am on April 24th, 2013
Macy, Good luck to your dad this Friday on his job interview. Will you have to move if he takes an offer?
9:39 am on April 24th, 2013
How did I get a photo of Rio wearing a pretty pink rain jacket? Well, being a master blurrer has it’s advantages. He tried on several slickers, and this was his favorite.
9:41 am on April 24th, 2013
I hope the storyteller is feeling better.
9:42 am on April 24th, 2013
And Macy, best of luck to your paw.
9:51 am on April 24th, 2013
Freaky!…”Goldstein wears her dog’s ashes in a heart-shaped container on a necklace”…gah!
9:58 am on April 24th, 2013
We agree, Rio, that was a little over the top. We hav we urns of old friends, but not a necklace.
10:06 am on April 24th, 2013
Busy!…grunt!…My friend sent me a text on my little Go-Phone. Someone at the busy-damned-place told her she is the only reason they come to work anymore….Awwwww..sniff!burp!
10:07 am on April 24th, 2013
Thanks for everyone’s good wishes for Dad. Unfortunately, despite his stellar resume, once interviewers get a look at his “maturity” they seem to go off him. But, yes, we would have to move if he got one of them. Mom would LOVE to move ANYWHERE (almost, not Dallas). She was born in Ft. Worth, moved to south Ft. Worth, then a southern suburb of, you guessed it, Ft. Worth, then suburb #2 and finally, suburb #3.
10:13 am on April 24th, 2013
Yes, Why do we have Pennies? They are in circulation so that Merchants can advertise their wares at $1.99 leading the Unsuspecting Consumer to Believe he/she is paying closer to one dollar than the actual price of two.
Sad Story about Sierra. sniff.
10:20 am on April 24th, 2013
Macy: Laughing over your remark to Riö of last night to…”please close the door to Colorado.”
Paws crossed for your dad’s successful interview.
Beautiful sunny day on the Island.
10:25 am on April 24th, 2013
Macy, sending good thoughts to your Dad from Westchester!
10:26 am on April 24th, 2013
Look!…over on the right…a little blurb from The Sound & the Furry.
10:43 am on April 24th, 2013
Gooood morning everyone! we are behind because mom had to take care of the grandpussies this a.m. Mom also has a cabinet with pretty urns for our sibs that cross the bridge before us.
Mom’s computer access has been limited as the “boarder from the basement” who is usually here only alternate weekends has been here over a week. He’s a long haul driver so is usually on the road. (He’s a neighbor’s kid..20’s..trying to get started)
Sad story today. Mom’s wolf used to eat ANYTHING and it would pass…wolf advantage. Good to hear about Rose. Hope the Storyteller is doing ok, Rebecca too.
Love the Colorado door remark and Rio’s rain outfit!
10:47 am on April 24th, 2013
Macy, Good luck and lots of hope for your Dad and Mom on their trip to other parts of Texas. I bet they will take one little look and say “Wow, an experienced and resourceful guy, Let’s grab him quick.”
At least that is our prayer.
Rio: Your friend and one other sane one left at the busy place. Watch your backs!
10:50 am on April 24th, 2013
Royals: Forgot to say…that was a Cute Photo you posted Yesterday of Gilly as a Puppy.
Tell us, How is your Dad feeling this morning?
Sharon & Herd: Where are youse? Heh. There you are!
11:04 am on April 24th, 2013
Macy: As a lead dog a certain age, I want to tell you that maturity equals experience. There are just some things that can’t be taught in books, but are taught only by many miles on the trail. Good luck to your pop!
11:17 am on April 24th, 2013
Howdy to all! First off, if we could open a door to let youse all get some of our gorgeous, 70s weather today, we would. However, we are worried that we would get Maggie’s rain or Rio’s snow instead.
Macy, Austin would be great, wouldn’t it? Best of luck to your dad. Mom thinks the reason she didn’t get that other position had to do with
ageexcess experience. We here loved the cute picture of Gilly as a puppy, with her dad. And also, Rio’s adorable 🙂 rain slicker.
“Found a penny. Picked it up. All day long you’ll be throwing up”. Now we know why Mom hid the coins jar when Kat was a baby.
11:18 am on April 24th, 2013
Macy, I think Mommy is the perfect age, and I just know your dad is too. Tell him to wear his experience with pride!
11:20 am on April 24th, 2013
It was raining here but now it’s snowing.
11:21 am on April 24th, 2013
Mom says she worked hard for each and every grey hair and wrinkle so she wears them with pride and always asks for old-fart discounts 🙂
11:29 am on April 24th, 2013
Mom says she knew about the penny thing but it is always good to spread that info around. Mom reads a lot of dog stuff.
Macy, Best of luck to your folks on their trip. All those places they are visiting are great Texas cities. Mom is like your mom about Dallas.
We have read all the books by Nick Trout and liked them. The one Rose mentioned must be a new one.

Baseball history was made yesterday…the game between the Braves and the Rockies in Denver was played in the coldest temperatures ever recorded for a Major League baseball game….23 degrees.
They should have substituted Huskies for human baseball players in that game.
11:44 am on April 24th, 2013
Siber: The Huskies would have won the game.
11:51 am on April 24th, 2013
Masquers, We would have played better than the Rockies did. gah

4:00 pm on April 24th, 2013
I am here. Well, I still am having trouble with the concept of here. See,I’m writing this at home at a certain time, but then it goes out through the inter “tubes” to land where? Not only that, but not everyone will receive the comment at the same time, nor read it at the same time. Throw in the time change . . I think I’ll just think about something else.
4:02 pm on April 24th, 2013
Melanie: Here!
4:05 pm on April 24th, 2013
Anywoof, the ancient apple trees have had their hardcloth skirts taken down. It appears the the Rodents Of Unsual Size have left the area. I have left the skirts up on the peach, new apple and two small maple trees. i don’t trust those things.
I rolled up the hardcloth, tied it and put it in the barn. After that? Power nap!
One of the trees had a sucker grow right into the skirt.

And Mama says that she is going back to see him tonight and she is taking a certain Royal Princess to see her Daddy. Wonder who that will be?

Belle Starr has been texting me from her little Go-phone all day. She is convinced Wose is coming to live with us. My first thought is that we could use a handler. My second thought is, “Where in hell did she get a Go-phone?”
6:38 pm on April 24th, 2013
Bella: She just visited our pug friend in Colorado did she not?
7:06 pm on April 24th, 2013

B&S: Mom hated disco but sure sang along to Nursing Queens!
Melanie: Promise Gracie treats if she takes her meds good. That’s what the daddy dawg does.
BSD: From your mouth to dawg’s ears.
Rose: We always love to hear from you 🙂

HOH, the Pack receive all meds in peanut butter. They get jealous if someone is getting meds and it’s not them. PB is great because the meds have more of a chance of getting down their throats instead of being caught in their jowls.
I just called Golinka and The Storyteller answered the phone! How cool was that?
He sounds great and in this reality. No more dancing giraffes for him.
7:58 pm on April 24th, 2013
Melanie – very good news about the Storyteller. The giraffes will miss his good energy.
Best wishes to Gracie.
Years ago the parental units were in the islands at a “winter workshop” on business and Paul Simon was staying at the same place. Mom watched him head down the beach, alone with his guitar, and she really, really wanted to follow him and hide behind a sand dune and listen. But she didn’t.

Sigh . . Lost opportunities, Bluecat.
The moonrise was spectacular.

American Idol is on now. This is getting so difficult because there is so much talent here.
8:40 pm on April 24th, 2013
Kree is still my absolute favorite. It’s just her mix of country and blues that makes me very happy to listen to.

Walk!…wheeze!…Back from our long walk where Beau always poops out a 6 ta 7 incher…gah!…He is definitely back to normal…sneeze!…Where does he get that much food?
Sammie!…Oh no! We are both in a quandary as to what to watch – The Rockies or the Idols…sniff!…yeeep!…They both start at the same time too…grunt!…We will have to do the remote-shuffle I guess…gurgle!
9:12 pm on April 24th, 2013
Rio – gee, thanks for the visual. Now we are going to have that mental image in our heads all night…..gah!
9:26 pm on April 24th, 2013
Hmmmm.
Just catching up on 2 days worth of posts.
Wose: Thanks for the link to Wookie’s relatives, the therapy dogs going to Boston. Wonderful!
MacyMinPin: Your dad should put his skill at making homemade fried pickles on his resume. Not many have that skill.
I’m not creeped out by someone wearing the ashes of a loved one. I saw read about a company that uses the ashes of a loved one to make a diamond. Sounds way cool to me, if one could afford it.
T&G: That looks like a great hospital. The patient looks happy.
9:36 pm on April 24th, 2013
Barb says it is time to say good night.
She also thinks that she is either very lucky or had a great rehab place. Never got wrong pills or had nurses over-medicate her. Also no bad reactions to meds given. Youse guys should come over to Wooodstock for rehab.
9:46 pm on April 24th, 2013
Visual!…Hey, I have to experience Beau first-paw each and every day…sniff!…The least you can do is imagine what it is like with no smell or Technicolor …chorkel!burp!

Sammie!…I cannot decide for absolute sure who will win it..sniff!..Now Angie Miller is my favorite especially because she loves her grandmother….sniffle!…That grandma going up on stage made someone here weep and sob!…gurgle!

Goodnight all.

I tucked Cousin Bob, dear friend of Mick and Jodi and a friend of the kennel earlier this week. Jodi just informed me that Cousin Bob crossed the Bridge tonight. What should you know about Cousin Bob? He was a good-sprirted sport and the kind of two-legged you couldn’t help but like immediately. We are less one of the good guys on this side of the Bridge, but the other side of the Bridge increased their Good Guy population by one. I want to thank youse for helping to brighten Jodi’s spirits a couple of months ago by crashing Cousin Bob’s house. If you recall Primo joined us that night thanks to Jodi. You were the bright spot and bit of laughter she needed that night.
Dear Creator,
Thank you for our time with Cousin Bob. Please bless and keep his spirit. Please comfort those who loved him most including Cousin Judy, Mick and Jodi. Please bless he will know how much he is loved.
Amen.
2:16 am on April 25th, 2013
Sorry, I’m a bit upset, but my last comment should read that I tucked Cousin Bob under the quilt. Tonight, I’m tucking Mick, Jodi and Cousin Judy under the quilt. Jodi already knows they will be in the company of horses, newfs, a Storyteller, the left-behind Eau de Beau, etc.
6:30 am on April 25th, 2013
Snowbella, please let Mick and Jodi know that the Grizz and I are very sorry for their loss.
Sending our prayers, hugs and love.
9:09 am on April 25th, 2013
We all send our prayers to SnowBella’s extended family. We hope gentle hands are holding all.
We are also sending prayers up for Macy’s dad. We think he should do what Mama does regarding age.
