Cubbies
“Scored tickets to tonight’s Red Sox/Cubs game?” says Spence.
“Yup,” says Admin.
“Where from?”
“A source,” Admin says. “Should be a good night. As I’m sure B. Stover could tell you, the Cubs haven’t been to Fenway Park since the World Series in 1918. Won by the Red Sox – their last World Series championship until 2004. And of course Babe Ruth pitched for the Sox in the 1918 series. There’s also some speculation that it was fixed, just like the 1919 series. The players took big pay cuts during the war, and gamblers infested the game in those days, even roaming the stands to take bets.”
“Wonder if they’ll introduce anyone who saw that series?” Spence says.
“That’s what I’m hoping. A ten-year old kid who saw one of the games would be 103.”
“Do you want to be 103 ever?” Spence says.
“Ask me when I’m 102.”
Welcome Alice and Jack-Dog.

I’ve been thinking of doing some research on baseball and then reporting my findings on my blog. At this point my mind-set is that it (and most other sports) is a substitute for war similar to the knight tournaments during the Middle Ages…something to keep the boys occupied.
Good morning all.

Forgot: Have fun at the game Admin.

For BStover & Other Interested Parties: A Conversation with Charlie
“A secret weapon? How so?” I questioned the ginger yearling who had forsaken his gargoyle post atop his dog house for a hug. Conversation and loves are a standard among my evening chore routine along with feeding, watering and scooping, and tonight Charlie and I talked race strategy.
He seemed to ponder his answer as I scratched the furry plane between his floppy ears. His particular brand of ears, floppy, a rarity in the kennel are part of Charlie’s charm as are his bronze eyes and gentle spirit. Charlie, about to take flight with the flapping of his flops with each scritch and scratch of my hand finally shared his secret, “My ears, they make me earodynamical.”
Mastery of the English language for some of the kennel being bitlacking, I could not help but clarify, “Do you mean aerodynamic?”
“No,” he was quick to answer, “I don’t know what that is, but earodynamics is a complicated science. I barely understand it myself, but I do know it makes me faster.”
“Faster than brother, Fritz?”
“Of course, he has those pointy kind o—,” he was cut short. As if summoned by the use of his name, as many dogs are when it suits their purpose, Fritz doing any football team proud pushed his brother out of the way and took his place for a hug.
The puppy dog look that makes even the most rigid of dog owners give in being supplemented by Charlie’s floppy ears, the look of disappointement was heartbreaking.
“Up, bud,” I called to Charlie as I patted the side my torso unencumbered by Fritz. “There is always enough love, and this, brothers is why I have two hands,” I whispered as each received an ear scratch.
9:36 am on May 20th, 2011
LOL and beautiful! Thank you Rebecca. (At next year’s race, Charlie will fly so he’d better explain everything he knows about earodynamics to his sidekick, Fritz.)
9:40 am on May 20th, 2011
Good morning. Wonderful narrative, Rebecca.
Bee, LOL, you and baseball statistics! We live near Chi town, so we are always hearing from Cubbie fans. Every year they say “Maybe next year!”. They never give up hope. Guess that is why they are called die hard fans.
No baby goat yet, but we keep saying any moment.
We do have baby chicks pipping this morning. # 4 just popped out and there are about 8 more that have broken the shell. They should be hatching thru the weekend. Ahh, springtime on the farm!
9:43 am on May 20th, 2011
Barb & Maggie: Does the mama goat to be happen to have that far-off look this morning? Best not to show her how chicks are born—that just might confuse her.
10:02 am on May 20th, 2011
Historic!….This game is history in the making!….Wooooo!….What I wouldn’t give to be there with Admin eating hotdogs, drinking beer and rooting for the Cubbies….heh!
10:02 am on May 20th, 2011
Greetings to All:
That was a great story about Charlie!
Have a great time at the game, Admin!
Subway Series starts tonight…Yipee! Let’s go Yanks!
10:21 am on May 20th, 2011
Rebecca – this is Gilly – does Charlie have a girlfriend? He sounds like my perfect match – Mama says my “baby puppy” face combined with my perfected technique of letting my normally pricky ears droop is enough to soften the heart of Ghengis Khan, whoever that is.
And I can run REALLY fast too.
It will have to be a long distance relationship though. I’m not all that fond of snow.
(Gilly’s Mama here – That was a truly wonderful story about Charlie – my dawg, but this blog is FULL of very talented writers. Its such a joy to read. Thanks to all of you!)

From Snowhook Kennel:
Hello all,
It’s been on my mind to do this for a while. Over the last few months you’ve taken on the sponsorship of our kennel and in helping all of our family’s goals (dogs count as our family) in running Iditarod. I just want to say thank you for this. I am overwhelmed by the generosity the Plunderes have provided our small team. I am very grateful.
AJ
10:29 am on May 20th, 2011
AJ!!….I was so hoping you would get on the blog one day!….Wooooo!…. This is an Historic Day! for sure….snort! ….You guys, and I mean each and every one of you guys at Snowhook are near and dear to our hearts here at Chet’s…sniff!… I love getting to know all the racers through Rebecca’s stories….snorkel!
10:33 am on May 20th, 2011
Hi AJ! Thank you for posting. The best to all of you at Snowhook.
10:38 am on May 20th, 2011
Hmmm, when do four footers don’t count as family?
HI AJ! HI BELLA! Loved Charlie’s pondering about physics. Our Mac is a Zen dog. He ponders nothing while staring at a blank wall. Then he takes a nap.
I love how Admin recognizes that B.Stover is the authority on all things baseball!
10:46 am on May 20th, 2011
AJ left just a few minutes ago and will be gone tonight for work, but he said he wanted to post on Chet’s blog before he left. Not being able to sleep last night…something to do with the cold that AJ gave me as a parting gift of my sinus infection, I had Chet’s blog at the ready.
(Whispering) AJ asked me last night (late for most Plunderers) if he could post something to the Plunderers. He said it wasn’t much, but just something he had been meaning to do.
10:47 am on May 20th, 2011
Admin & Spence: You lucky dogs!
SnowBella: Hey! I have floppy earodynamic ears like Charlie – maybe I could be a part of your team too. I do run like the wind.
Nana here: Rebecca, that was a wonderful story! You are a very talented writer. Hello to AJ! We love you guys. You are part of our family now.
B: Congrats on the shout-out from Spence and Admin. We all appreciate your research.
Barb&Maggue: I’m starting to wonder about Sandy. I think she’s just mess’n with you – having a laugh.
Admin: That’s interesting about those games being fixed. I know Professor Stover will do some investigating and get all the details for us.
Good Morning Everyone from Bear & Company
11:02 am on May 20th, 2011
Good Morning all.
I see Staff did some work for me last night. Heh heh heh.
Just hoping to catch up with a certain pug in the number of pictures up on the friends of Chet. And now I have a bigger chance of showing up on Rio’s computer. 😀
Snicker
Macy I hope things are starting to feel better boob-wise at your house. Dawson’s bruise is going away. We don’t have any arnica though. Maybe we should have some on hand.
When Dawson and I were garage sailing yesterday we went to a sale that had an eagles nest in the woods behind their house. If only they had their sale a week earlier we could have seen the nest. Now the leaves are hiding it. They said that they think the eggs are hatching this week.
We heard them, and could hear the crows harassing them too.
Later friends.
11:21 am on May 20th, 2011
Alice!…You will never catch up to me in any respect….grunt! ….Don’t even try you skinny KAT…sniff! …What are you donating for the Auction anyways???….snuffle!
11:25 am on May 20th, 2011
Hello to all. We hope you enjoy the game Admin, but we think any game other than Sox would be better Ha-Ha !
Alice! wonderful to see your pic up there!!! Buddy was drooling.
B: How cool that you got recognized on Chet’s blog post.
Bella: Great story about Charlie…we can’t find a picture of him…did we miss that? We know that we cannot be earodynamic because our ears are always standing up. But we do ponder…stuff like that squirrel that we saw go up the tree…that groundhog that dug a fresh hole…that kind of thing.
Great to hear from AJ too ! Wow. We agree that Snowhook is more like family than some faraway Iditarod team. We think its because all the racers are family to all of you.
Its so hard to keep up with you all..Mom gets such little time to let us post on the blog.
Wolfie’s pic is up at the top now !!! Woo-Hoo … blurring and all!
11:50 am on May 20th, 2011
Photos!… Everybody gets to see a variety of Chet’s friends except for me!…grunt!….All I ever get is Alice starring at me…sniff! …I avert my eye’s and then all I see is that Ian guy….grump! ….It’s a lose-lose situation….gurgle!
11:57 am on May 20th, 2011
Enjoy the game! History follows baseball everywhere. I’ll cheer for Boston because of Spence and Melanie’s two guys.
Stover, when you are doing your research, you will have to take into account all the female fans of baseball in this country.
Rio, The new season of Breaking Bad begins in July.
12:06 pm on May 20th, 2011
Howlers: If you have the Snowhook calendar, Charlie is the November picture. Fritz is in the smaller picture on the same page. (Be careful of his eyes!)
I don’t think it makes any difference if you have more than one picture in Friends of Chet. Quantum physics is only one part of the procedure used in chosing the Friend of the Month. The other part of the procedure uses classical physics so there is a way of eliminating duplicate entries.
Where is Wolfie?
12:10 pm on May 20th, 2011
Aaahh Mom stole our Snowhook calendar to hang in her office. Boo. We will ask you to look for Charlie in November when she goes there on Monday.
We do have our wonderful Snowhook “surprise” tho!!! We get to use that !!!
B: Our mom is the baseball fan in our family…not pop. Wolfie was one of the 2 Friends of Chets last time we refreshed. Not any more tho.
Rio: We agree that we have grown tired of Ian. We are looking forward to June, when we hope to see the end of Ian along with the end of all this rain.
12:10 pm on May 20th, 2011
arrrgh…”We will ask her”…not you.
12:11 pm on May 20th, 2011
SH: One of the things I will definitely be taking into account is the inflated salaries of all concerned with the game.
12:13 pm on May 20th, 2011
Howlers: My question was ambiguous. I mean, why hasn’t Wolfie posted lately?
12:13 pm on May 20th, 2011
Physics!….I bet Admin just pulls a number out of a hat and whosever photo it corresponds to is the winner of the month….grunt! …Or maybe they blindfold Spencer and while Admin flips through the photos on the screen he randomly points at one….heh! ….This is still kind of high-tech for those guys…sniff!
12:15 pm on May 20th, 2011
That is a lovely story about Charlie, Rebecca. You can write a book someday. I need more books about Iditarod dogs in my libraby and you would write a great one.
AJ, Thanks for stopping by and posting. You and the team ran a great Iditarod…You are no longer rookies!! It will be such fun next race to have Snowhook to follow and cheer for.
Fellow Siberians, There are photos of Charlie in Snowhooks calendar…the month of November.
12:17 pm on May 20th, 2011
Hi All, The Royal’s Mum and I are working on Patch stuff! Having fun . . .
Write more later
12:20 pm on May 20th, 2011
We know for sure Sandy if preggers. She is as big as a house, and has enough milk to feed a small family. Goat’s milk anyone? Does anyone ever tune in the Fabulous Beekman Boys on the Green Channel? They are a couple of city guys who bought an old historic farm upstate N.Y. somewhere. They have a bunch of goats and sell bars of soap for a small fortune. Martha endorses their stuff. We think Barb should become a goat herder and start milking her goats to make soap. Whadya think? A new late-life career?
Oh, and 5 baby chicks so far. They are sooo adorable. Barb doesn’t trust me to be in the room alone with them, for some reason!
12:23 pm on May 20th, 2011
Maggie: Goat soap is a good idea; goat cheese even better!
We are surprised you are even allowed on the same farm with those chicks. Mom wants chickens and thinks she should trade us in.
At least she tells us that while handing out treats and giving us belly rubs.
12:26 pm on May 20th, 2011
Melanie: I want to know about the patch stuff. Now!!
B&G: I love goat cheese. How about that for a new business? (We have a person who sells goat milk soap at farmer’s market. It’s very soft on the hands and comes in different flavors.)
12:26 pm on May 20th, 2011
Stover, the baseball players these days do make, umm, millions, but they work a lot harder for it than actors do. Charlie Sheen got one million an episode for essentially playing a watered down version of himself. gag
Back in the days of Mickey Mantle, the pay was very low…cheap.
12:31 pm on May 20th, 2011
Barb, this is especially for you: Alice Walker (The Color Purple) has written a book about raising chickens, “The Chicken Chronicles” She has 38 chickens and doesn’t eat them.
12:53 pm on May 20th, 2011
Siber, Will check it out. We have 26 chickens, and don’t eat them. The Color Purple is one of our all time favorite movies. Love Whoopie and Ophra in it.
Goat’s milk soap is supposed to be excellent for people with delicate skin.
Oley, I actually like chickens, I just haven’t learned to “dial it down” when trying to herd them.
Barb is off for 1/2 day at the office. Perfect, beautiful day here. Everyone, have a great day. BBL
1:32 pm on May 20th, 2011
Puuurrrrfect Day here too!
Masquers
1:34 pm on May 20th, 2011
Wolfie! Where are you?
1:49 pm on May 20th, 2011
SH: “…and doesn’t eat them.” LOL!
Going to run errands.
Spence and Admin: I still want to know about the frisbee.
2:10 pm on May 20th, 2011
O yeah…the frisbee…almost forgot!!! Are we getting frisbees???
2:27 pm on May 20th, 2011
Breaking!…News! My friend just found out that tomorrow is Judgement Day!… Holy Cow!….snort!… I thought that was Dec. 21, 2012….hmmmm!… The date has shifted. I don’t know if I’m ready to be whisked off to heaven yet….sniff! ….The Silent Auction hasn’t happened yet….grunt!…Chances are this Harold Camping (aka false prophet) is wrong again…heh!
2:30 pm on May 20th, 2011
Rio! Just heard the news this am also. But it doesn’t really bother me because…well, you know.
2:41 pm on May 20th, 2011
Snowhook Bella: That was a great conversation with Charlie. Impressive to learn you are already plotting strategy for next year’s race.
A.J.: Hooray for Snowhook!
Barb and Maggie: I love little fuzzy baby chickens.
Melanie and Royal’s Mum: I have high hopes for the patches – with the talents of both of you together, they will be spectacular.
Rio: Hasn’t Staff told you what she has for the auction yet? I know she has a quilted dog wall hanging (dibs!), a mesh cat fabric tote (dibs!), hot dog hot pads (dibs!), and some organic homemade dog treats – Oh wait! The last item didn’t make it home because she ran into some Siber H’s she gave them to instead.
2:43 pm on May 20th, 2011
Alice!…I want to know what Alice is planning on donating to the Auction….grunt!…. My friend says she has dibs on the Dog quilt, so you better break open another piggy bank….snort!
2:59 pm on May 20th, 2011
Ha Ha Ha ! You doggies should have held your auction sooner…you won’t be around after tomorrow. But us cats will be here…we can get all those lovely auction items at a great price…FREE ! Ha Ha Ha !!!!!
3:03 pm on May 20th, 2011
Alice will be donating catnip impregnated hair balls, I think.
3:06 pm on May 20th, 2011
Alice!…Will she be making those into a set of earrings?….snort!
3:19 pm on May 20th, 2011
ok kats, Where do you think the dogs are going…to heaven is where. You kats will be left behind.
Actually, I’m with Rio…(false prophet)
p.s. In heaven all dogs that want to can run the Iditarod and not have to concern themselves with the financial end of it. No need for a silent auction beyond the pearly gates.
3:19 pm on May 20th, 2011
Riö and Bella, check your secret decoder device!
3:26 pm on May 20th, 2011
Yes Siber, we know doggies are going to heaven. We cats are staying put right here to live off all your goodies !
3:54 pm on May 20th, 2011
hmm, I just tried to post something and it went away.
4:20 pm on May 20th, 2011
Buddy!….What if we lock our doors and take our keys with us?…snort!
4:25 pm on May 20th, 2011
Silly pug…cats don’t need keys…or doors.
4:50 pm on May 20th, 2011
Everybody just ignore stupid big-mouth Buddy. What a comedian.
We have to go get farm chores done now that the sun is out a big. TTYL
4:55 pm on May 20th, 2011
Mama is home from Auntie Melanie’s and she is sitting on the floor with us giving us tummies and cookies to apologize for being away from us all day.
So, we are already rapturous.
5:31 pm on May 20th, 2011
All I have to say is: “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today”.
5:38 pm on May 20th, 2011
Okay, Wolfie hasn’t been heard from in a while and neither has Nattie. Do you suppose they are off on a secret mission? No, that can’t be, or Commander Rio would now about it. hmm…pondering…
5:41 pm on May 20th, 2011
OK I have everything done but the pillow. We are still thinking about the pillow.
Number one thing for the auction is….

5:42 pm on May 20th, 2011
We here believe we will still be here to post on Sunday. Not worried in the least about tomorrow.
Here is a picture of Lily doing one of her rescues. Last week they saved a turtle. See if you can tell what she is holding.

5:45 pm on May 20th, 2011
Has anyone checked on Wolfie? I think I will shoot off an email to see if everything is OK.
5:55 pm on May 20th, 2011
Oh by the way the 3 dog wallhanging is 30 inches long and 14 inches wide.
Number two item is a pair of potholders. (there are two pair so two auctions) They are dogs on one side and hotdogs (Nathans of course) on the other side and the hanger loop is from leftover fabric from the quilt. White paws on black fabric.
Dawson endorses these potholders as we have a pair here at the house that were made with carrot fabric and orange (the fruit) fabric.

5:59 pm on May 20th, 2011
Snort!…I want those hotdogs!…snarf!
6:07 pm on May 20th, 2011
We say the world can’t end tomorrow…we have WAY to much to do…
6:31 pm on May 20th, 2011
And for item number three I am offering a lovely KAT bag. There are Kats on this blog you know. It is made of a mesh that looks like woven silvery-gold metal. (But it’s plastic and you can wash it.) It has a lovely Kat design on it. Close up will be the second post.

6:32 pm on May 20th, 2011
Close up….

6:36 pm on May 20th, 2011
I am making popovers so I can give a picture of them to Liz. Maybe she will be able to use them for the book. They will be done at 6 CDT.
Here is the last thing I am putting up. A zippered file holder in a lovely professional orange with Kats lined up across the top. The zipper is in a wonderful red and the pull is light turquoise blue with a gold edge. Just yummy. I hate to part with it. Dogs are allowed to bid on the Kat items. Just so you know. It is 11″ x 13″.

6:38 pm on May 20th, 2011
I am also still thinking about the pillow that copies the cover of Thereby Hangs a Tail. Hmmmmm. No action yet thought.
Lily, I can’t tell. I tried to enlarge the photo, but no luck. Is it a little brown bird?
6:47 pm on May 20th, 2011
Did Staff make the square on the cat bag? It’s a shoulder length bag right?
6:50 pm on May 20th, 2011
Staff: I think you’re supposed to send picture for the cookbook to Melanie.
B&M: I can’t make out what Lily is holding.
6:55 pm on May 20th, 2011
What’s CDT? ….is that central…daylight savings…time??
I would LOVE that kat bag if it had doggies on it,how cute would that be!!
I can’t tell what Lily is holding but a chick is my wild guess.
6:56 pm on May 20th, 2011
WHOA, not that the kat bag isn’t gorgeous of course, i didn’t mean to imply anything negative, just that …well, there are kats listening so… WOW what a great kat bag!
7:03 pm on May 20th, 2011
Barb&Maggie: Very cute, both of them, but I can’t tell what small creature Lily is holding.
Alice: I am amazed at all the wonderful things you will be presenting for auction! I know one thing – I will be bidding on it all! All my holiday shopping done by July!
Mom says she is going to have to take out a loan so I can bid on everyone’s fabulous auction creations.
7:13 pm on May 20th, 2011
Liz: Yes CDT is central daylight time……I think.
7:19 pm on May 20th, 2011
MagPie – Is Lily holding a baby groundhog?
7:58 pm on May 20th, 2011
I would love any of those things Alice, Abbie and Staff!
Send pics to me and after I’m done with something I’m working on I will get those ready for Liz and then send a CD to her snail mail. (Liz, putting something in there extra for you!)
I think Lily is holding a baby ostrich.
Tonight’s movie? “The Creature from the Black Lagoon”
8:02 pm on May 20th, 2011
A classic, Melanie!! Mom likes that movie.
8:15 pm on May 20th, 2011
Alice: The proposed pillow featuring the book cover from THAT would bring in the big bucks too.
Such a talented bunch here!
8:21 pm on May 20th, 2011
Melanie wins -it is an ostrich! Just kidding, sorry it was so hard to see. We thought you could click on it and make it bigger, but that didn’t work.
It is a baby Robin. It got blown out of its nest and was almost dead when they found it. They fed it for several days, then today took to it to a lady who does wild bird rescue and rehab. It’s fairly easy to feed a Robin-soaked dog food and some cut up worms. The hard thing is getting them ready to live free again, so Kelly always goes to this lady. Last year it was a baby wooodpecker.
We emailed Wolfie’s mama and she is ok. Going thru some stress after the auto accident, and has been busy with some other stuff, but nothing horrible. She says are sweet to be concerned.
She has been lurking on the blog and will be posting again soon. She and Wolfie say hi to everyone.
8:24 pm on May 20th, 2011
Popovers!….Alice is making popovers?….har-dee-har-har!…snort!
8:24 pm on May 20th, 2011
We love all of Staff’s things but expecially the dog pot holders. Gotta have those!
We now have 11 baby chicks and 3 more have broken through their shells. Maybe we should put them up for auction. I bet Shiber and Oley would like to have them!
Printed some recipes from Debbie LM today and they look very good, too.
8:27 pm on May 20th, 2011
Well darn, I thought I’d figured it out!
I’m going to have to come back to the Creature tomorrow. I’m fading fast. Still must be catching up on sleep.
Oh, before I leave you wonderful people, did those of you on FB see that that picture from Tony L? It’s on Chet The Dog page. Very funny!
And BTW T.C. is quite cute!
Okay that’s it for me!
8:42 pm on May 20th, 2011
Barb and Mags, we LOVE the Beakman Boys and are hoping that Brent’s doctor job works out so Josh can stay at the farm more. Have you seen the episode about Dolly? *sob* We really cracked up when polkaspot got shaved. I loved it when Josh said “I shaved my llama this weekend. Doesn’t everybody?”
8:45 pm on May 20th, 2011
Alice, we have quite a mental picture of you “garage sailing”. Look, off to port, some dented pans!!
8:47 pm on May 20th, 2011
O.Howlers: Is that a photo of your mom with who I think it is?
8:50 pm on May 20th, 2011
Macy, We saw the first part where John was saying that Dolly was 9 yrs. and he hoped she had an easy kidding this year, and that she was his favorite goat. What happened to her?
8:52 pm on May 20th, 2011
Wow!….Our pitcher, Jason Hammel, just hit a home run!….Woooo!….You don’t see that very often…heh!
Photo!…What photo are you talking about Bear?…grunt!
8:55 pm on May 20th, 2011
Barb, she had her kid, a little girl, then John gave her some kind of vitamin shot, said that goats can go downhill very quickly. Next scene he is in the barn and Dolly is all curled up in a corner. John cried, mom cried, I remained stoical.
9:07 pm on May 20th, 2011
Rio: It’s on Chet’s F/b page. I guess we’ll have to wait until Buddy or the Howlers come back to find out.
9:08 pm on May 20th, 2011
Alice!…. Can other things be carried in that “Kat Bag” besides Kats….grunt!… My friend has all kinds of crap she carries around with her everyday…sniff!…But she does not have any Kats…sniff! ….Thank Dog!
9:21 pm on May 20th, 2011
Grrrrr! Didn’t get very much accomplished today – spending the majority of the day on the phone with tech-support trying to resolve router problems. Very tiring. I’m out of here until tomorrow. Going to watch “Little Fockers” – can use some laughs.
Nite All – Bear
9:24 pm on May 20th, 2011
Wonder how Spence is doing at the BoSox game. Its pouring down rain here on the other side of the state – doesn’t mean its raining in Boston, but we have had nothing but rain for days and days and days and days and days and days…..
9:25 pm on May 20th, 2011
Router!….We learned the hard way that if your router isn’t working unplug it (not from the wall but from the router box), wait 10 plus seconds and then plug it in again….snort!… This will re-boot it and then you can try to start the browser again….grunt!….So far ours has been working ever since she did that re-booting thing….heh!
9:29 pm on May 20th, 2011
Tuppence!….It has rained here all week long…grunt!…My friend says she is sick of being soggy…sniff!… I will go check on the Sox vs Cubs game…heh!
Sox!….Well Admin is probably really happy right now because the score is 10 – 5 Red Sox…snort! …But it is only the bottom of the 5th inning so anything can happen yet….snorkel!…Go Cubbies!

Rio – Mama has her raised veggie gardens laid out – after this weather they look like a spa for Arnold Zeffer. oink, oink
Bout the only thing she could raise there right now would be “water” melons or swamp cabbage
We can’t say anything about how the Sox will probably blow it cuz both Melanie’s boys are BIG fans. So for them…gee, we really hope the Sox win.
(whispering – actually we don’t give a hoot, but don’t tell Spence)
9:35 pm on May 20th, 2011
In the 4th Inning the Red Sox were up 10 to 5 over the Cubbies.
Rio,
the cat bag was photographed with an Ingrid book in it to give you an idea of the size. I am sure you could put something other than a cat in it. I would like to see you try to get Abbie in it. teehee.
No Rio,
It is staff who was making the popovers. Alice is too short to get them into the oven. And she always spills the batter putting it into the pans. Just one of my mithtaketh. Which you CAUGHT!
drat it.

Dear Macy,
Yes we sail from one garage to the other and have a great time. I always finish before Dawson and go sit in the car. She looks at each thing carefully and then discovers something that I would like that I didn’t even see. We only went to about 4 of them on Thursday. Maybe tomorrow too. She has her eyes on the Library book sale for Sunday. It is BAG DAY!
9:42 pm on May 20th, 2011
Arnold!….Of Green Acres?…heh!snort!heh!….Funny just thinking about him…heh!
Sox!…We are counting on the fact that the Red Sox will probably blow it….snort!…Although, they have been on a six game winning streak, so they may surprise everybody….grunt! rattle! and roll!
9:45 pm on May 20th, 2011
Ooooo – Staff – Bag Day at a Library sale – sob….we are SO jealous! We can’t even get to our recycling center to the Free Book Shed in this rotten weather. And we are ALMOST OUT OF BOOKS that we have’t read….oh dear!
Time to break out Agatha and Poirot and Marple….sigh, perfect reading for a cold rainy weekend.
9:46 pm on May 20th, 2011
Games!….The Rockies game is just starting the 6th inning and the Red Sox are at the bottom of the 6th inning….snort!….Our game started an hour later than there game. Go figure!…sniff!…The Rockies are only ahead by one though…gah!
9:49 pm on May 20th, 2011
Poirot!….When we here have nothing new to read we always break out the Agatha Christie books with Hercule in them….heh!….ahhhh!
Chess!…She’s been trying to read a book on Chess Strategy because she thinks she has a chance in hell of playing our closer, Huston Street, at online Chess…sniff!…Never happen. Never in a million zillion years…heh!
9:52 pm on May 20th, 2011
Giambi hit another home run!! Tulo was really pissed at that pitcher…don’t blame him.

B&M: Thank you for contacting Wolfie.

Ugh – this rain! They say this is the wettest spring in 50 years. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and then more rain every day next week. Mom is having friends over for a pool party tomorrow but who knows what it will really be. A little sunshine peeks out of the clouds and people all run outside to enjoy it, then the skies open up again with torrential rain. So we’re stuck inside with all the political ads, which will finally end on Tuesday, but the rain goes on and on.
10:02 pm on May 20th, 2011
Rio – When Mom’s kids were just kidlets and it was nap time, Mom got out the chess board and a book of chess games played by the masters. She would replay their games and revel in how the game would unfold. Awesome!

Oh, the auction, the auction…there are so many beautiful items that I would bid on, but it defeats the purpose. I agree, the Plunderers are a talented bunch.
10:08 pm on May 20th, 2011
SiberH!….What happened between the Pitcher and Tulo?…snort!….We missed it somehow…grunt! ….Giambi is HOT! HOT! HOT!….woooooo!
10:12 pm on May 20th, 2011
When Tulo was up to bat, the pitcher threw the ball behind him on purpose. The look on Tulo’s face was priceless.
10:20 pm on May 20th, 2011
Molly!…She says that sounds like fun fun fun! Reliving the Masters moves…..chuffle!
Tulo!…I hope they re-play that at some point….snort!…Her mother wanted my friend to lookup an address and it distracted us…grump!
10:21 pm on May 20th, 2011
Snowhook!…The Silent Auction is gearing up to be a special event…heh!…I wonder if we need more advertising….hmmmm?
10:25 pm on May 20th, 2011
I don’t know how much I will be on the blog this weekend. Mom has to go with Husky Rescue to the big, once a year, statewide dog and cat adotion event. Dad won’t turn the computer on for me, but he says I can watch some of my John Wayne westerns.
Barb, thanks for emailing Wolfie. I miss him but I know he will be back soon. Wolfie is a good guy.
10:28 pm on May 20th, 2011
Advertising!….Here are the venues I am hoping we have “for sure”…snort!
Chet’s Blog – a Special Post from him, the one and only Chet….heh!
Snowhooks Blog – Before the fact announcement in big bold pleading letters…heh!
Twitter!…Is this Chet or Spencer, not sure. But it would be a nice touch…heh!
Facebookie! Both Chet and Rebecca could put up an announcements for the auction on their pages. Bless!…snort!
Reach!….This alone should reach quite a few people…sniff!…Then word of mouth from all of us to our friends and maybe family depending on how much you want them to know about your dog or kats life…heh!
10:32 pm on May 20th, 2011
Time for bed here.
Macy, thanks for the sad update of Dolly. Barb would have cried, too.
Night all.
10:33 pm on May 20th, 2011
NOOOO!…We missed the scrimmage with Tulo again because I needed help with the Advertisement post…CRAP!…..SiberH, what happened? Why did Tulo, stand up guy, get tossed from the game???…snort!… It is such a close game and now we are without our top short-stop…sob!sob!sob! gah!
10:34 pm on May 20th, 2011
Those ideas are good, Rio!
I guess you know Tulo just got tossed out of the game.
10:35 pm on May 20th, 2011
Rio: Count on Snowhook to advertise where you’ve listed above. I’ve also been spreading the word to local friends of Snowhook!
10:36 pm on May 20th, 2011
Crap!….Now the game is tied….sob!sob!sob!….Tulo what did you do to us???…sniff!
10:38 pm on May 20th, 2011
Tulo got tossed from the game for talking back to the umpire who called the pitch a strike when it should have been a ball. I saw it…it was a ball. I don’t blame Tulo..I think he has had enough tonight, but as you said, we need him at shortstop. Tracy came close to getting thrown out.
10:38 pm on May 20th, 2011
We gotta go for tonight – been multi-tasking with watching tv, blogging, doing other comoputer paperwork stuff, making jewelry and checking in on the phone with a friend. Mama says her head is spinning and she’s going to bed.
There was just a great line on the tv show, about a really obnoxious character.
“She was raised by wolves…..until she killed them and ate them”
Now, personally, we think wolves would make great parents, but the line was pretty funny in the show.
G’night all. Hope to be back this weekend, but there is a show coming up in just a few more days so….
10:46 pm on May 20th, 2011
SiberH!….You know how all these fine ladies who do not like baseball say it’s because of all the scratching, twitching, spitting, hat fiddling, face wiping, hand rubbing, gum chewing etc…heh!…Well, our pitcher, Betancourt is the WORST …grunt!…He even drives me crazy and one time I saw an Umpire call him on it…heh! …He is pitching right now…sigh!
10:48 pm on May 20th, 2011
Goodness what an interesting night. Gotta get to bed though.
Night all.
10:57 pm on May 20th, 2011
I agree about Betancourt.
I have often wondered if the serious, frantic, gum chewing really makes them better baseball players.
10:59 pm on May 20th, 2011
Betancourt!….When ever we have to watch this guy pitch I get all itchy and try to scratch my ears….sniff!…Well I can’t reach that far so she starts scratching them for me, then her back starts itching so she is rubbing it back and forth on the couch and scratching my ears…grunt!…The itching just gets worse the longer that guy pitches….sigh! …He is so good though. I think he freaks out the batters…heh!…They probably all scratch when they get to the dugout after being struck out!…snorkel!
11:12 pm on May 20th, 2011
Maybe we should send Betancourt some Frontline, like I use.
The Rockies just sold one of our players to Boston, but I did not catch which one. Maybe it will be on the Rockies website tomorrow.
Mom is making me go to bed before the game is over with because she has to get up extra early for the adoption event. I hope she knows she can just jog down the driveway for me in the morning to get the paper so I can have the sports page. I do not fetch the paper in the driveway.
Night All and sweet dreams
11:16 pm on May 20th, 2011
Tied!….We are going into extra innings….grunt!…Without Tulo and Giambi…sniff!…Where are all the Late Nighters tonight? Maybe its not late enough yet..sniff!
11:19 pm on May 20th, 2011
Trade!….The Rockies traded Franklin Morales our left handed pitcher to the Red Sox after last nights game….grump!…In return for what? We do not know yet….grump!….What the hell kind of deal is this?…grump!
11:26 pm on May 20th, 2011
Co-Winky-Dink!… The Brewers have a player with the name of “Betancourt” also!…heh! …He doesn’t seem as twitchy as our guy though…sniff!
11:54 pm on May 20th, 2011
Twelth!….We are now in the 12th inning….yawn! ….She has that look in her eye that says we will be listening to this on our radio in bed soon…sniff!…The good news is I get to be on the big bed also when this happens…heh! …Ianetta is up so …well crap he flied out. …sniff! …Morales is up and got a hit? I thought he was traded away to the Sox…hmmmm! …How many Morales’s do we have on this here team? Now I am just talking to myself and it’s time to got to bed and ponder all of this crazy stuff while the game is still tied…chorkel!
