Happy Egg Day, Plunderers and Lurkers! We were busy playing with babies yesterday afternoon, then off to Christmas Village last night. So we just now got caught up on yesterday’s blog. The holidays are like that here…so do not worry if youse don’t hear from us.
Staff and Dawson, we are sending you a package chock-full of husky kisses. We all contributed, except Dima. He doesn’t like to kiss, but he is the world’s best hugger, so he hopped right on in that package. You’ll know it has arrived when you hear him singing.

Wose, did the Prof get his file back? It should still be in his trash bin on his p.c. , and he can get it from there.

Good morning. Hope everyone is felling tip top today, or getting there (their, they’re). That will make sense if you read all of the link teehee, we are being petty this morning.

Busy day here. Barb is helping DIL with some cooking stuff for her family get together later today, but will not be attending. Short of it- Jess’s mom is not invited but wants to go, even tho she is divorced from dad. She gets snarky with several family members so she was told she can’t come. Barb has decided not to be put on her S**t list by attending.

Has anyone out there used fresh sage in their stuffing? Barb bought some but isn’t sure how much to use. We think we should use a little more than the dried.

Hi Bluekat! How is your dad feeling?

Not too sure about the sage tthing, so can’t help you, Barb.

    Good morning all.

Barb: Yes, use more fresh sage than you would dried sage. Better Homes and Gardens calls for one teaspoon of dried; I think I would double that with fresh.

    Happy Egg Day!

Dawson and Staff: Sending big love and hugs your way.

OHs: Sounds like you had a busy, but fun day yesterday! The first place Prof looked for his deleted file was in the recycle bin, but that was empty. He ran a Windows recovery program, but it seems he was only able to get back bits and pieces.

Kat, did you have fun playing with the babies?

    Tupper and Tyb up top!

Mom just realized that the Shake You Booty team has seriously underestimated their budgetary needs.

    Why?

Last year, we did not buy appropriate footwear for Natasha. If you recall, she ran the entire race in high heels. This led to sore feet and much bellyaching.

I have contacted a fancy schmancy shoemaker in Paris, and he will be able to accommodate her needs. But at a steep price. Now, if we could talk Natty into running upright, we only need half as many booties.

At any rate, not only do we need money for the shoes, but we also need to figure in travel costs for Natasha and her entourage. First class plane tickets to Paris are not cheap, nor is the Ritz.

The Prof and I are both off for the holiday week. My company closes every year between Christmas and New Year, since they whip us to death all year long. We will be spending two nights at the Wildflower Cottage where my friend Zelda used to live. Before she crossed over the bridge, her mom and dad purchased Link, an Akita puppy. Link helped Zelda feel like a puppy again for a bit. Although the Wildflower won’t be the same without Zelda, I am determined to make friends with Link.

Wose – you get to play with a puppy for Christmas. How cool is that?

Wolfie – thanks for asking. He’s in remission and we’re very grateful. Thinking of your mom this season, as well as all those who are missing loved ones.

I got my egg this morning, but Molly’s Mom is having trouble again. Yesterday she ate a Swedish fish. After she ate it she remembered something Melanie said about that. THEN she read the ingredients, duh! Food starch. Can’t she ever learn?

    11:14 am on December 23rd, 2012

Wose, even though this comes too late to save that file, tell the Prof to look for a setting that is removing items from his recycle bin, and change it to not remove from there.
MPM, Oh, no! We are sorry to hear you are not feeling well.
Bluecat, glad to hear good news on your dad. Go Irish! 🙂
And now, for your viewing pleasure, here we are with Santa at the HSBC Howladay Party. You will remember that Dima and Sasha visited Santa at ARL the prior weekend. Last weekend, he took his two red girls.

Wose, when Baby #1 arrived here yesterday, she was scared of me. Being trained by Mama Meash, a husky who has cured every child’s fear of doggies, I was not deterred. While Meashka cozied up close and gentle, I just leaned in and devoured that baby girl’s face in kisses. Voila! She wanted down on the floor to crawl around with ME ME ME! Baby #2 arrived shortly thereafter, sans fear. We all hung out together the rest of the afternoon.

Wow! That is a good feature on the Chet and Bernie series…chosen for Day 23.

Fellow Sibers, I hope the Santa in the photo realized how blessed he was by the visit of two redheaded Siber girls.

Wose, You will make friends with Link.

Siber, Notice how happy Dima and Meashka are to be with Jolly Old St. Nick? They know he is a great guy. Kat? Not so much. heh heh

btw: What do you mean “the Santa in the photo”? Are there others???

  20. Siber-H
    11:46 am on December 23rd, 2012

Fellow Sibers, It is my understanding there are several Santas at the North Pole. One Santa alone could not deliver all the presents to all the good Sibers in the world.

I know this won’t make sense, but mom says Dima always has a very Dima expression on his face in photographs.
Kat looks like she would rather be some place else rather than posing in front of Santa.

Do youse guys get Parade In your Sunday newspaper? If so, today’s “Personality Parade” has a question asking how Lee Child feels about the casting of Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher.

(Whispering) Mom says to tell Siber’s mom she knows exactly what she means.

  22. Siber-H
    12:33 pm on December 23rd, 2012

Fellow Sibers, Yeah, I read that in Parade. I am not so sure I believe that Lee Child thinks Tom Cruise is Jack Reacher. I am anxious to find out how that movie does at the box office this weekend. I am not cheering for it.

Staff: Happy birthday! Do you need us to help you celebrate?—we can show the proper way of roasting chestnuts on an open fire.

B: To answer your question from yesterday about the right way (a.k.a. The dangerous way) usually involves a bit of gasoline and a dare. Sometimes it even involves a double dog dare. Once in a while, the dare is followed up with the phrase, “Hold my beer and watch this.” Rio understands what we’re talking about.

Dawson and Staff: Please know we have the quilt wrapped around your shoulders. Maggie looks to be resting well under the quilt near the gluten-free zone currently inhabited by MPM.

In our long history of doing shows, we have found that customer IQ and courtesy is dramatically decreased on Sundays.
We have learned to laugh it off (most of the time)

Siber – we have run into memoir-worthy customers in every part of the country. Funny thing about doing shows in places where there is a big Native population tend towards the patronizing. In the northeast, we run more often into ignorance-based rudeness. And in the southern states, customers want to bargain.
It’s all part of the life. If we won the lottery, would we still do shows? Probably not. Would we still be making stuff? Oh yes- absolutely!

Rose: is there a computer store that can help you out with the deleted file? Sometimes it is time to call in a professional. I am sure it will cost $$ but is there any other way for the Prof to be able to reconstruct the grades for the class of students? What is he going to do?

  54. Siber-H

    Movie Box Office Report:

Hobbit stays at #1 for a second week.
Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher made a “decent” showing to come in at #2, but the movie is not making the big bucks that some of Cruise’s other movies have on opening weekend.

  63. Barb & Maggie
    5:28 pm on December 23rd, 2012

Would be willing to bet Lee Childs cannot veto an actor once he has reached a deal selling the movie rights. He might have some input but not enough to reject unless a clause was written into the contract. Just our opinion.

We are possibly going to watch the J Edgar movie tonight, since we didn’t get to it last night. He was in interesting person, but not someone Barb greatly admires.

Masquers, thank you for your kind words about Zelda and Link. Will take pictures and try and post to blog.

Masquers, the Prof has very high standards. He would not want to reward students who have not handed in assignments, or participated in class, and would not to short-change the students who have worked hard, and shown progress throughout the semester.

I am very much looking forward to seeing Les Miz. Everyone in the film sang live, and Anne Hathaway’s hair was cut live during the filming. It is very interesting to see actors do things they do not normally do in films.

I cried too. My gifts included a scratch board work of Andrea’s of a Raven. I will take a picture of it in the next couple of days and post it. I also received one of their wedding photos. sniff

Beautiful card, Masquers and Bear Spirit Doug. We also caught the Miracle marathon on AMC today and we believe too.
Thoughts and prayers and hugs and kisses for all those on the blog in need, or missing loved ones this holiday season.
Loved the advice from T&G earlier today — certainly my motto as well.
Nightly noodle and spaghetti-os to all.

HOME!!! Mama and Dad are HOME. And like Sammie’s girl, they are never, ever going to leave again!

The road was clear, dry and empty for the trip. Dad just settled in and told Mama “Go for it”. She beat her record for the trip by 3 minutes. (Would have been 5, but there was a firetruck blocking a side street close to home, slowed her down a mite.
