Macy, Staff’s brother, the Turtleman has done a race called the Leadville 100 on his bike. Not in the last few years though. He always finished in the allotted time except once when he stopped several times to help others and took over the 12 hour limit. My parents went one year and Dad got mountain sickness. We are definitely flatlanders here.

Good morning, y’all! I’m sorry I haven’t been around much lately — Mom seems to be spending all her spare time reading stuff about weddings. I hope it’s not going to be like this for the whole next year!!!
Speaking of weddings, Mom got a package in the mail that had what she called a “Mother of the Bride” hat. It’s all sparkly with rhinestones. It looks delicious, but Mom says I shouldn’t eat it. 🙁 Thanks, Amalia!

Thanks, guys! By the way, I tried to tell Mom that MY name was the one drawn — thanks, Staff’s Dad! — so I should get the hat. But she says that the booty donation has to come out of my treat fund if that’s the case. Oh, well. I’m sure the hat will look much better on her. Besides, my girl wants to center the wedding around blue hydrangeas, so the blue hat will go perfect with that. Mom says she figures she can wear the hat when they’re decorating for the wedding, and everybody will see her crown and know she’s the boss!!!

Working hard here and it is freezing and windy. My niece came over and helped this morning after I had shoveled 18 inches of weird snow away from the fence in the Play yard. Not ice, not slush, not snow. Weird.
Anywoof, she’s been lifting and carrying and dusting and sweeping and making Zoë’s bed. The house is not exactly what I had hoped for but our poor go-to guy has put his back WAY OUT!

Oley – that’s funny. Back in the 80s when I worked at a dead end library job in Phoenix, I constructed a logical proof that I was the most boring man in America. Since I moved to NY in 1990, my life has picked up quite a bit. I’m working on book #3, but struggling to find a publisher. It’s a guide to the 40+ special libraries on the island of Manhattan. I’m hoping to have a home for it by the time I go to Book Expo.

Oh, dear. My Two-legged put on AJ’s parka and is refusing to come out of the fur rough. I heard her mumble something about having upset her very special pug friend. It seems I spoke two soon about the patches without thougth of providing further details before my Two-Legged got on a plane. She says she blames my upbringing, whatever that means. But, today was a very big and busy day for Snowhook. First, my Two-legged headed into town early for a bit of an emergency meeting and then headed for the airport. She missed her flighted, campaigned her way onto a standby flight, but that’s a story for another time. Bonnie, as in Bonnie and Clyde decied to up an have four puppies this morning! Can you believe? And, to top it off, AJ left today to take fourteen Snowhook dogs to a 200 mile race called the Tustumena. But, get this—he isn’t running it, but our dogs are. Another musher will run the A team in the race including Junior. My Two-Legged got home late tonight and headed straight to the kennel to do chores only to get inside and realize she may have upset the pug and caused the rumblings of a mutiny. Gulp. She still won’t come out of the fur rough, but once she does, I’ll see to it that she provides details to get your paws on the forever patch.
The patch fairies have been busy, with special attention paid to the likes what the back of Whitey-Lance’s head looks like.
I hope Rio forgives my Two-legged for unintentional chaos, or we may never see her and I need my belly rubbed or I’ll get in a bad mood.

Rebecca has had a lot on her plate without also working full time at a job that requires a long commute from Willow to Anchorage much less flying around the state. I don’t know how she does it. I hope she is well again and that her back is up to all the chores and stress.
