Congrats to Buster. He’ll be over in the special place on the right for the whole month (where Millie is at the moment) and his human companion will receive a signed and paw-printed copy of The Sound and the Furry (as soon as we get a mailing address). In August, this could be you! Just upload a photo to the friends gallery. Our Seattle division takes over from there.
Welcome new friends undercover dude, Peaches, Sophie – all now eligible for the August Friend of the Month.

Teddy has a pool too, although at times it is unclear whether its primary function is as a wading pool or as a very big drinking bowl. Very hot here too (92 with lots of humidity and a low of only 74 tonight), with tomorrow even worse. I think Teddy is dreaming of cool Vermont; I know we are.

Mama put the air conditioner on today for the first time. Then she took Gramp to the eye doctor. Woo hoo – big fun.
She is thinking of ways to make herself even crazier, and is wondering if she should take Gramp to Costco. What a place for a guy who can’t make decisions.

I have good news and bad news. The good news is the first monarch of this year hatched out this morning. I wish it was hot and humid for the monarchs sake but it is 60 degrees and rainy and very windy. The monarch is tucked into the blooming Mock Orange shrubbery. Hopefully that will be enough protection for the little guy.
The bad news. My cell phone took a dive in the toilet. I suppose it was inspired by all the talk of pools.. grump.

This’ll cheer you up. The son of the man who lives in this house was in town and during the conversation he mentioned he was doing a little bit of quilling. “Do you know what that is?”
“Yes I do!” says I and pointed above my head where the last quilling I purchased at a Snowhook Auction proudly stands. He came a little closer and his mouth fell open and his eyes bugged out a little. “Well, I’m not that good.” says he.
Stay strong, little 4 legged (probably bigger than I think) Snowhook Kennel puppies, especially Amalia and Melanie, who were awfully sick!

When Barb first moved to the farm she got a mama donkey and she had a little baby that looked just like that. They are super cute.

I am going to attempt to talk to him tomorrow to get a little more info. If she signed the sheet saying that I could have info, PLUS I have her medical power of attorney, he should be able to talk to me, right? I want answers and I want them yesterday. I really need this to be a good outcome. My mom and I are not all touchy feely with one another, and I don’t know what to do for her. sigh. I just need to talk it over with Rick, sniffle.

By all means talk to her doc – you are entitled. And if it is a fast growing kind, he will most likely want to talk to you too to formulate a battle plan.
