Comradeship …

LeAnne went over to Marci’s bed, sat beside her. She put her arm around Marci’s shoulder. They looked at Marci’s new leg together.

“It’s kind of beautiful in a way,” LeAnne said. “I mean that.”

“Some men find them sexy. At least, according to the PT lady.”

“I believe it.”

Marci nodded. “Nothing about men surprises me anymore.”

LeAnne laughed. Marci joined in. Hey! Leanne thought. Is my laugh still a party invite? She stopped at once.

Good morning everyone! Happy Egg Day, happy Sunday and “happy ” LeAnnespeak. Sometimes even non military women do comradeship. Thanks PASQUALE.
Have a superlative Sunday (and add a sundae to the day, if possible).

Hello HOH, B. and everyone. I was happy to hear the good news yesterday. Looking forward to a concert late this afternoon and to breathing deeply and w/o coughing for the entire day.

AJ and the Snowhook kennel, be sure that AJ has the happiest of b-days ever.
Wish we could be there with the owl hat to make your day super special! Belle Starr, if sparkles are needed, they will look great with the owl hat mom got in an auction from Mollypops Mom. Hope she is doing well in Buffalo.

Good day all and especially to OFM. We have been on the Scottish Island of Mull and today went over to the tiny Isle of Iona to see a quite nice Abbey. On the way there we passed a pub…being hobbit-sized, I never have to worry about a low doorway.

The real King MacBeth is buried somewhere in this graveyard with other kings of the Isle. Our guide says he wasn’t as terrible as Shakespeare made him out to be

The national dog of Scotland: the Scottish Terrier. This pup posed for everyone outside of a castle

Oh, Hobbit, love the fotos. Mom thinks she’d love somewhere where she didn’t have to duck. The terrier is gorgeous. As for the kilt, we will talk about that later.

Diane C: the pub is aptly named The Low Door. Easy me me, hard for most others, especially a 6’5″ fellow traveler. It is a tiny pub so no hanging out in it. Back on the mainland tomorrow. Tues and Wed we are in Edinburgh and will be seeing the Edinburgh Tattoo Wed night.
I must say that I have fallen under the spell of Scotland and would like to come back and do more touring.

Good afternoon all. Love the photos, keep’um coming! Little wite doggie is adorable. Wonder why you mostly see black Scotties?

Rose, I have a book that I think you especially will like. It is called “A Fall of Marigolds”. It takes place in NYC, and alternates between 1911 and 2001. Two fictional stories center around 9/11 and The Triangle Shirtwaist Fire of 1911. Until 9/11 the 1911 fire was the worst in New York history. Interesting history, and the terrible loss of life brought about many of the OSCA and union changes for better working conditions. 146 people lost their lives in that fire, and it was so unnecessary.

I loaned The Right Side to a friend and she read it in 2 days!

Black are Scotties, white are Westies.

Then why did she call it a Scottie?

  22. BMALS

OK, got more info on the colors. Scotties come in black, a dark charcoal and wheaten. The one pictured above is wheaten, which is almost white. Isn’t there a scotch brand that shows the two colors of dogs on the label?

Westies are a totally separate breed.

Barb!…Yesterday we were all out at my friend’s sisters animal farm…snort!…We saw little black hens with a fluffy head minature style. Apparently they are the product of a Banty hen and a larger fluffy headed chicken…heh!…They have been given the name Top Hats by my friend’s sister. My friend fell in love with that little hen and her top hat…chorkel!

Llamas!….Last time I was out there at that animal farm there were only 2 Llamas…snort!…This time there were many more and that means way more Llama poop to walk around in. I am still licking it out of my toes….grunt!spit!gag!

I don’t want to burst your bubble, Rio, but “Top Hats” is a name people have for the various crested breeds. Polish Crested is the most well known, and they do come in bantum varieties. The chicks you saw could be a pure banty or a half banty and half crested breed. The half crested chick will still have a top hat, but a smaller one. I had a couple of Polish Crested (a buff and a black and white). T
hey are pretty to look at and very gentle.

Tell your friend to go scoop up some llama poop this fall and top a garden area with it for spring. It is very good fertilizer and will age over the winter. Then you turn it under and get a great crop of veggies!

Bubble!…Barb, no bubble burst here. I was just repeating what I heard. And the fact my friend actually thought a little black chicken with a top hat was cuter than gum….snort!

Poop!…No way any Llama poop is going down on my patrol…yeeep!…That stuff sticks like super glue…grunt!

Rio, I actually bought, with real money, 2 bags of Alpaca poop! If you can get it for free, go for it. Just don’t let Beau eat any of it. Some dogs like it to snack on.

We need some before and after phots of the new house when you have a chance.

Kamera!…Barb for a few days now my friend thought her Kamera was broken…sniff!…She blamed me, I could tell. But I swear I did not diddle with it at any time….grunt!…Today she figured out the battery was very very low and that solved the problem. So therefore some photoz will be forthcoming in the future…wheeze!
