Client Behavior

“Mavis?”

She ran to the Kia, an unsteady kind of run, almost losing her balance. What was going on? Was she a client? This wasn’t normal client behavior – maybe later in a case, yes, but not at the very start. She got in her car and slammed the door.

“Wait!” Bernie called.

Mavis took off, pulling into the street and speeding down the block. Bernie! Let’s go! On the stick!

But Bernie just sat there. “What happened?” he said. He watched until Mavis was out of sight. “Any point in chasing after her?”

Any point in chasing after somebody? I didn’t understand the question.

I can’t wait, I am already hooked, but wait I must.

Part of the birthday celebration yesterday. I love a restaurant that offers a free dessert for birthdays with multiple spoons! Between the appetizers, the meal and the dessert, I thought I’d never eat again but here it is the next day and I am already contemplating breakfast.

    Good day everyone!
What a wonderful lunch we had and a few across the inlet to die for. That dessert with chocolate and coffee pie, yummy good.
We enjoyed the Iditarod insider program last night introducing the world to this year’s mushers. There are only 47 teams running this year and 13 of those teams are women! If you didn’t watch it or don’t have the insider, Ailey Zirkle has announced that this will be her last great race.

I had requested a table with a view for our celebration and the restaurant delivered. I was very pleased.

If anyone is interested in getting introduced to the mushers, go to the Iditarod site, scroll down the page to the “Broadcast Schedule.” The pre-race video is still up and running and is FREE to watch (some of the later coverage is only for Insider subscribers–the most basic cost is $19.95)

I imagine the Iditarod is particularly poignant this year. Being both the year that the Covid-19 vaccine is being delivered (and in Alaska, sometimes the last leg by dogsled) and commemorating the original delivery of the flu vaccine a century ago.

I remember when we could watch the Iditarod on the TV. This was decades ago, when there was cable but no internet streaming. I can’t remember what channel carried it but I remember sitting in my parent’s living room on a Saturday afternoon, rather overcast, cold and damp outside, watching it in the nice warm house with a fire going in their fireplace. You wouldn’t think it was that interesting to watch but it really was. Plus they would put the stats up on the screen, like it was a baseball game or something. It was like watching golf or a cooking show before everything got so commercial and over-produced. It was quietly mesmerizing.

MLAIUPPA: I wonder if it was broadcast on “Wide World of Sports” on ABC. I used to watch the Pro-Bowlers Tour on that show many moons ago.
