Christmas Eve
Bernie says the reason this island is so unspoiled is because of the Navy, but let’s not be too quick too thank them. A joke of some kind because everybody laughed, but I didn’t get it. All I know is that roosters crow all night here. Aren’t they just supposed to crow at dawn? I slept great anyway. When don’t I? But especially great, probably on account of the long ocean swim we had yesterday. I got Bernie headed back to shore safe and sound. Then Suzie told him to wipe his nose and he did. Another big laugh, which I also didn’t get. So what? Merry Christmas Eve, everybody!

Merry Christmas Eve, y’all! Mom and Dad have already been out grocery shopping, and now Mom and my girl are getting ready to hit the stores for a couple last-minute things — including a graduation gift for my boy! There wasn’t any mid-year ceremony at his school — if he wants to cross the stage he’ll have to do it next spring — so Mom and Dad decided to have a family celebration on Sunday, after all the Christmas stuff is done. My girl decided to have his diploma framed, so she’s going to get him a gift certificate since it hasn’t arrived yet. Then Mom still has a bunch of wrapping to do, and Mom and the kids are all playing handbells at the late service tonight, so it’s going to be a long and busy day! I’ll try to stop back later!

We are off, too, and to answer Bee’s question, we will have very little chance to post till Sunday evening or Monday morning.
Rio, Just so you know, we were using **** instead of “totally”, as in “totally awesome”. What were you thinking you bad boy?
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. Love, Barb and Maggie

Good Morning. We have a busy day too but will be back later.

Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childish days; that can recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth; that can transport the sailor and the traveller, thousands of miles away, back to his own fire-side and his quiet home! ~Charles Dickens, The Pickwick Papers, 1836
Merry Christmas, Everybody.
psst, Rio. What the **** is Chet talking about?

Busy!…Doesn’t begin to describe us!… grunt!… But, before all that my friend has asked me to thank Kirby and his gal for the wonderful gifts she sent us….wooo!… I love mine! My friend says drinking her water everyday will be a challenge but she thinks she will get used to me by her side all the time at the not-so-busy-place….snort! …Thank you both very much from the tip top bottom of our hearts!…grunt!
Farm!…First we have to drop off some stuff at her mothers house, have a bite, and then we are off to the farm to see Pepper….snort!snort!… My friend has gifts to take there, no not the special project gift, that’s not finished yet….grump!….But something else that’s fun. Anyway, I hope you all have a great day…snort!… I will be back this afternoon….wheeze!

Chet: Did Bernie swim out too far? I don’t get the Navy thing either.
Happy Holiday to all. (I like the quotation Bluecat!)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to the Plunderers and to Chet, Bernie, Spence, Admin. & Mike Baker!

MollieABP: You look so cute.
Tyb: Thank you for the candy recipe. Seems nice and easy which I like. I’m wondering if you think nuts could be substituted for the pretzels?
I’m baking pies and the pouding. I’ll let you know how that turns out.

Happy Christmas Eve everybody!
We are just running ourselves ragged this morning. First, we had to get up and go out and check the yard for intruders. Everything a-ok there. Then we had to find the perfect spot to nap. Still napping, except me. Mom put in a load of laundry. Boy are we exhausted from all that.
Mollie darling, you are just stunning. Do you wear your cap all day? We are impressed.
We will be checking back in when we can find time between the yard checks and the napping. Be safe everyone.
11:32 am on December 24th, 2010
Wild guess here…Could the Navy have used that island as bombing practice? Chet, if you find out, let us know.

Merry Christmas one, and all!
This is Mary, posting from the busy place. I have to do the bank deposits now but wanted to say hello. BBL

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!
I am tracking Santa’s journey on the internet.
Mollie(ABP) You look cute enough to be on a Christmas card.
About last night’s discussion on swearing (after I fell asleep)…Mom says my vocabulary has increased since I started hanging out with Rio. I support higher learning on the internet.
I’m thinking about Melanie and family today.
11:53 am on December 24th, 2010
SH: LOL. Define “higher learning.”
Melanie: Let us know how things are going when you get the chance.
And I hope Chet does find out about the Navy thing and let us know. Good guess SH.
Hey Wolfie!

12:57 pm on December 24th, 2010
Good going, Macy! Mollie has her own Christmas card now.
eeek..define higher learning…I learn new words from Rio, not always approved by mom. I learn new words from Stover, which are approved by mom. Stover and Melanie are always researching something interesting and either posting it here or giving us links to it. I read it, and I learn. Stover, you teach us a lot of good stuff. Not counting sled dog races and baseball, my educational searches are ususally history or geography
I learned about having puppies this past year.
I learned new medical information.
Mollie(ABP) gave us all those fantastic photos of the SF Giants. Okay, that wasn’t educational, but it sure was neat.
1:35 pm on December 24th, 2010
Rio: You and your friend are very welcome, but don’t you know you’re NOT SUPPOSED TO OPEN BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!!!
Mollie (ABP): Looking good!
SiberH: I think we all learn something from reading this blog. For example, Mom and I now know what a sestina is. A couple of weeks ago Mom was listening to a book in the car, and it mentioned a sestina. Mom laughed because she actually knew what the character was talking about!
Bee: I had the same thought that SiberH did about the Navy — they’re well-known for using tropical islands as bombing targets!
Macy: I love that Santa. I want to send email to everyone with that Santa in it!
1:37 pm on December 24th, 2010
SH: All of the inquiring minds on this blog are fun no matter what the subject!
1:39 pm on December 24th, 2010
Kirby: You not only know what a sestina is but you wrote a superb poem and it was posted on the blog.
1:44 pm on December 24th, 2010
Bee: Thanks — I think that was one of the highlights of my year!

On Christmas morning, I’m going to have a blast catching up with every comment.
Right now, after that last hospitalist nearly screwed things up for Dan AGAIN, we had his doctor changed and she reviewed the same information, gave him another X-Ray and Dan is leaving the hospital at 3:30!!
He’s going into a nice rehab place, closer to us, where he’ll be able to see the deer out his window. McKey is showing him how to use his iPad. More explanations to come when we can hook him into the wifi.
What a great Christmas present. And boy, you should SEE the letter Zoë is writing.
2:01 pm on December 24th, 2010
Okay Plunders, Chet, you are getting your present from me through your emails that I have. I can get LizF’s to her through her web site. MollyPop if you can forward to TYB? That leaves C.Harris.
C.Harris, if you click on my name you can get my email, I will not let your email out! promise.
Linda the Lurker, you are also getting one!
It will take me a few minutes. But is coming. Please forgive any errors. I’m sort of tired.
2:07 pm on December 24th, 2010
Melanie, will Zoe’s letter burn up before she can mail it? I bet it is hot!
Hi, I’m Biddie! Christmas! Christmas! Did you know it is tomorrow!? Mom said we would get a “taste” of Christmas tonight. I bet it is something to eat. I like to eat. eat. eat. and run. run. run. and nap. nap. nap. I had to get on the kaputer while my mom Macy is taking a power nap. Christmas!!! I like it. It means food I guess, but our Niki is home and there is food, food, food. Oh boy I am tired from all the excitement. Christmas!
2:19 pm on December 24th, 2010
Dan will be leaving the hospital soon!! What a wonderful Christmas present for Dan and the family and for us.
Zoe, You Go Girl!
3:04 pm on December 24th, 2010
YSAS has set up the iPad so he can use the wifi at the rehab. Dan is leaving for rehab place in 30 minutes.
Whew. . .
So . . . if you don’t get an attachment in the email, let me know and I’ll try again.

Home!… Hey, I just remembered, I have gone through all of the Agents mission notes and have pieced together what happened just a few days ago…snort!… All of my agents are brave and indeed risked their lives. They could have been locked up in jail or the pound for that matter if not for their quick thinking and quite a bit of luck…heh!…Anyway, here is what happened on the last Mission Trip…grunt!
Molly sat in the dark in the back of the van, her paws at the ready over the control panel. She sniffed the air and smelled a faint trace of eau de skunk lingering from the presence of Wookie even though he had left the van with Kirby a while ago. Stover looked uncomfortable in the front seat. This was her first mission and she didn’t want to make any mistakes. She had agreed to come this time after Commander Rio promised her an autographed photo of his corkscrew tail. Stover pulled out a pair of small binoculars and gazed at Spencer’s house which she could just barely see through all the trees. It really was a beautiful house, she thought, nestled in a heavily wooded area, very close to the ocean. Melanie was sitting in the passenger seat sleeping and snoring loudly. Every now and then her left arm would jerk which caused her cane to hit the console between her and Stover. This was starting to irritate Stover and she was pondering how to wake Melanie up.
Wookie was trying to get Kirby‘s attention by pawing the air furiously to no avail. Earlier, he had led Kirby to the side of the house and had entered through Audrey’s special door; the one Admin had made for her last year. The door was looking a little worse for wear these days, the hinge was just barely hanging on some loose screws, and it had lots of scratch marks on it due to Wookie’s tools scraping on the door each time he entered or left which was usually in a big hurry. It was clear that Admin had not bothered to check this door in a very long time. Wookie’s newly designed tool-belt-vest was fastened on so that the tools were underneath him close to his chest. This eliminated all that wear and tear on Audrey’s door.
As planned Audrey had gone on ahead into Spencer’s office. He was sitting there staring at the Quilt, or maybe just staring into space, it was hard to tell. She tippity tapped over to him, rested her head on his knee and started whining and woof woofing. Spence woke up and looked down at her just as his phone started ringing. “Hullo.” Audrey whined louder and woof woofed even more. “Sure you can come over this afternoon. Not much going on around here. Do you like Cahors?” Audrey started barking sharply while stomping her paws. “I’ve got to go. Someone needs to go outside. See you later. Yup, bye.” He slammed the phone down and got up. Audrey ran out of the office and down the stairs to the front door. Spence took a little longer because of his short legs being stiff from sitting around all morning. As he wobbled down the stairs he was wondering why Audrey hadn’t used her doggie door.
Wookie’s paw stopped in mid air as Kirby finally popped through the door looking very surprised to be on the inside. Kirby was feeling a bit intimidated and had his ears tuned to high alert mode, his big brown eyes were bugged out even more than usual. He had his little red cap on and was looking quite worried. The Commander had picked him to be Wookie’s lookout while he was installing the necessary software onto Spencer’s laptop. Kirby was to use his alien-like ears to listen for Admin and Spencer or any other abnormal sounds coming from within the house. Wookie shot up the stairs straight into Spencer’s office, while Kirby trotted as fast as he could behind him. Wookie quickly pulled out the six foot retractable ladder he had tucked away in his tool-belt-vest. He snuffed around and found the tool he needed to flip off the safety switch on the miniature baseball cameras.
Stover tried to ignore Melanie’s snoring and went back to looking through her binoculars. Suddenly, she sneezed violently, scaring Molly who jumped and hit the control panel with both paws. Uh oh. Melanie woke up with a start and wacked the console with her cane, much to Stover’s chagrin. Flustered, she peered out of the binoculars again and caught sight of something pointy moving around on Spencer’s front lawn. “I see something! I see something!” Molly stiffened and adjusted her earpiece. She was ready for anything and now admittedly a little worried.
Wookie, now up on the thin wibbly wobbly ladder, his whole body underneath the Quilt, was meticulously using his specialized tool to flip off the safety switch on each of the tiny cameras that Staff had so cleverly sewn into the fabric. He quickly finished his task and started down the ladder. The long fur between his toes snagged on one of the steps. He tried to free his paw and lost his balance. All at once down came the wibbly wobbly ladder, Wookie and all of his tools which flew out of the pockets of his tool-belt-vest when he hit the floor! Kirby narrowly missed being hit by a power drill and a book on how to train lab rats. He carefully sniffed Wookie to see if he was okay. Oh no! Wookie was out cold.
Meanwhile, the outside distraction was afoot! Stover started the van and drove down the street leading to the front lawn of the house. Spencer, now a little more limber with his pointy head a bobbing, was throwing the big blue ball for Audrey. She pulled the van over and Melanie leaned out the window and yelled, “Hey you! Come over here!” Audrey grabbed the ball in mid-air and ran right over to the van. Stover and Melanie both got out of the van and started petting Audrey. Spencer reluctantly walked over to them and said, “Can I help you? Audrey! Come here! Sit. Stay.” Stover and Melanie continued to pet and coo at Audrey all three of them pretending to ignore Spencer. The girls needed to distract Spencer to give Wookie time to enable the Quilt’s miniature cameras and load new software onto Spencer’s computer. Once the computer is turned on the cameras will be activated so that we can all watch him work. Or whatever he does day in and day out. Commander Rio was counting on the fact that Spencer and Admin would not notice the new icon on the laptop or the teeny tiny blinking lights on the baseball cameras. Observation didn’t seem to be high on their skill set, so the Commander was not too worried.
Kirby was beside himself. His ears started buzzing and he felt panic rising. He ran to the window and looked out to see if Spencer was still outside. He saw Stover and Melanie patting Audrey while Spencer stood glaring at them with his arms crossed. Wookie was lying with his head close to Spencer’s desk. Kirby looked up and saw a bottle on the desk. He had an idea and jumped up on the chair and then onto the desk. Nosing the bottle carefully into position onto a piece of paper away from the edge of the desk lining it up with Wookie he grabbed the edge of the paper and pulled it out from under the bottle. Just as he hoped the bottle fell with the top hanging over the desk pouring liquid down onto Wookie.
Stover, towering over Spencer, was asking him, “Can you tell us how to get to the resort?” As she was talking to him a sports car zoomed up and drove right into Spencer’s driveway. “What resort? There are quite a few on Cape Cod”, said Spence looking up at Stover. “You know,” said Stover trying not to laugh at his head which she could see the very tip top of, “the one that’s close to here. I can’t remember the name. We lost our map.” A young man with a baseball cap got out of the sports car and was standing beside it. He had his hands on his hips and was looking very impatient. Spencer mumbled some obtuse name to Stover. “No not that one! I’m sure it isn’t that one, right Melanie?” Spencer’s face was turning red; he was tired of talking to these women and was trying to think of how to get rid of them so he could talk with his friend who had just arrived, “Mike, I’ll be right with you!” he yelled looking back at the guy by the sports car. Stover brought the little binoculars up to her eyes and focused on the car. On the back window there was a slogan and a website address. “I’ll be damned if it isn’t Mike Baker! I’ve got a thing or two to say to him!” growled Stover as she jerked Melanie’s cane away leaving her teetering on her good leg.
As he gained conscience, Wookie licked his lips, then his nose and thought, “Cahors Black. What a treat! Now all I need is a nice lamb chop with asparagus and a potato gratin.” Woof! He slowly got up and had a good shake spewing wine all over the place. Kirby jumped down off the desk and snuffed Wookie. His tail was wagging as he licked Wookie’s red face. They both started gathering all the tools and shoved them back into Wookie’s vest. He knew he had to work quickly and get the software installed on the computer. Sitting at the desk he realized Spencer had locked his computer. They would need to figure out the password first.
She started towards Mike slapping the cane in her other palm as she strode mightily over to Mike. His eyes were widening as he watched her coming towards him. “I have a thing or two to say to you young man. First, you are on my SOL list, the very tip top of the list mind you!” she sputtered. Mike was reaching for the car door handle just as Stover wacked it with the cane narrowly missing Mike’s fingers. “Young man, I do not think that wanting, and to me rightfully expecting, technology to run efficiently is being demanding. Any job should be done well especially if you’re being paid to do it!” She yelled right in Mikes frightened face.
Kirby was now sitting on Wookie’s lap typing S-E-S-T-I-N-A into the password field, nope that wasn’t it either. Drat! Wookie tried again with G-R-E-E-N-M-O-N-S-T-E-R, R-E-D-S-O-X, C-A-H-O-R-S-B-L-A-C-K, M-A-L-B-E-C, E-D-G-A-R-A-W-A-R-D, Q-U-A-C-K-Y-B-A-S-E-B-A-L-L, C-H-E-T-N-B-E-R-N-I-E, none of which worked. He looked around the room and realized what it was. He typed I-H-E-A-R-T-P-L-U-N-D-E-R-E-R-S-Q-U-I-L-T and by jove the computer was unlocked! He plugged in the flash drive and started downloading the software. Kirby was still wondering why S-E-S-T-I-N-A hadn’t been the chosen password. Hmmmphf! Wait what was that? Footsteps! He motioned to Wookie that someone was coming. They quickly slid off the chair and under the desk.
“Posting on page two is a nightmare. It’s incredibly slow and when I refresh I am sent back to the top of page one! Ridiculous! Why can’t I be sent back to where I was when I refreshed the page? Answer me that young man!” Stover’s eyes were bright and gleaming but very narrow as she stared at him. Mike sensed he was in grave danger and tried to move away, she brought up the cane in a threatening manner. “Well, um, that’s why I’m here today. Um, to talk to Spencer and Admin about the design of the re-design of the next re-write and complete over-haul of the blog”, Mike said in a high pitched voice. Stover’s eyes went from bright and gleaming to dark and darker. She bellowed, “The design of the re-design of the next re-write and complete over-haul of the blog? How utterly ridiculous! You will not lay a hand on the blog, you hear me! I, WE like it just the way it is now!” Mike stammered, “But you, um, you just said it was a nightmare. I can fix it. I uh, promise it will be much quicker and intuitive..um…yeah, intuitive.” Melanie, using Spencer to lean on, had ventured over to hear what was going on. Spencer looked frightened and Melanie was grinning from ear to ear.
Admin came into the office and looked around. “What the hell has he been up to now? Wine all over the damned place! I am not cleaning this up, no sir” he grumbled, “I wonder if I still have that ugly cleaning women’s number?” Wookie’s upper lip raised just a smidge into a small snarl. The door slammed shut as Admin left in a huff. Wookie and Kirby quickly came out from under the desk. Wookie snatched the flash drive and turned off the computer. Using his big paws he opened the door slowly. They both peered out into the hallway, seeing the coast was clear, they ran down the stairs and outside through Audrey’s special door.
“I don’t believe you. You are just going to make it worse than it already is!” screamed Stover. Spencer stepped up with Melanie still clinging to him, and said, “Folks, no need to get all upset over the blog. Who did you gals say you were again? Anyway, I’m sure Mike will do a good job, he is an expert you know.” Stover swirled around and looked at Spencer ready to tell him a thing or two about cliffhangers on blogs, when she saw Wookie and Kirby came around the corner of the house. She grabbed Melanie pulling her off of Spencer and shoved the cane into her hand. She mouthed the words, “Let’s Go”. Wookie and Kirby were already at the van. Molly opened the sliding door and let them in. Stover and Melanie abruptly turned tail and skipped, as Ingrid would, over to the van. They got in and zoomed away. Spencer stood there with his mouth hanging open and Mike said, “I quit! Get someone else to work on that damned blog! Your readers are crazy coo-coo!” Then he got in his car and zoomed away. Spencer went into the house and up to his office, he opened the door looked around. Dropping to his knees he started sobbing.
Stover and Melanie were laughing uncontrollably, “Did you see Mikes face? And then that pointy head!” Stover hooted. Melanie couldn’t talk she was laughing too hard. Molly was giving Wookie a good face licking and Kirby was curled up sleeping with his little cap pulled over his eyes. All that excitement had worn him out. Once Molly was satisfied that Wookie was clean, they both went over to the console and waited for Spencer to turn on his computer so they could see if the cameras worked. Wookie knew everything was set up properly on his end and would work as long as Molly had not done anything out of the ordinary on her end before he had installed the software. They saw some flickering on the screen and heard sobbing and then everything went black. Molly and Wookie looked at each other and thought, “Uh Oh”.

Commander Rio, thank you for posting our Mission report. I hope it went well with poor Spence sobbing so much. B was awesome telling Mike Baker exactly what was on her mind. An English professor is never at a loss for the right words. Boy, did that ever make me feel good!

Dammit!… I already see the mistakes. Now why didn’t I catch them the 10th time I looked over my notes? ….grunt!…I need an editor…sniff!

TYB, Thank you for the pretty christmas card. Cards with dogs on them are our favorite kind.
Gosh Melanie! Zoe!! Thank you for the Christmas card, story and Newf pictures. We love it and appreciate it. Everytime someone called those lovely Newf ladies, bears, I started laughing. The Newfs in the snow are great photos…they photograph so well in the snow.
What fun on Christmas Eve…getting to read stories by Zoe and Rio. Now, we are going to read Rio’s.

Wonderful story Melanie. I am sure Bess would be happy to know she was immortalized in this way. Peaceful and happy Christmas to you and all yours.

Rio: I answered. (I hope it works out.)
Now I have to leave for a dinner party. Will be back later.
4:55 pm on December 24th, 2010
Just read Rio’s mission report…laughing so hard we had to go out and get the mail before we could steady the computer mouse. Great report, Rio. My favorite part, of course, is where Stover tells Mike baker about the blog’s tehnical problems.
5:16 pm on December 24th, 2010
Rio: I’m so glad you posted the mission report — I was bursting at the seams trying to keep my first mission a secret!!! I’m so glad I came along so I could help Wookie after his misfortune. I know Bee was a little upset that I used a bottle of Cahors that way, but I think the end justified the means. And I don’t think she would have been so conipped if she hadn’t just had that run-in with Mike Baker. Boy was she steamed!!!
Have we been able to collect any data from those cameras yet???
5:25 pm on December 24th, 2010
Kirby!… Hey pal! Good job on your first mission…grunt!… Regarding the software mishap, you will have to ask Wookie or Molly….snort!…They’ve been tasked with the job of figuring out how they can reverse the damage that was done…sniff!…It was such a promising Mission. All that hard work planning it. Well, needless to say, I really want those cameras up and working… dammit!
5:58 pm on December 24th, 2010
Wow! Great stories. Melanie, we will admit that we were a little nervous when we got the email, because the last one had such sad news. But instead we received a wonderful story and great pictures. Mom has already printed it out to keep. And yeah for Dan getting out of that *** hospital!
Rio, very concise and interesting Mission Report. Had no idea that B was a giant, but then you do seem to have information we don’t. Hopefully, Mike Baker won’t sabotage the blog out of spite.
It’s been a very hectic week and will be a busy Christmas day with lots of family coming and staying over for a couple of days. We will try to check in for updates.
May all of you have a very Merry Christmas! Our life has been enriched by knowing each of you. And we feel that we do know each other and have become true friends even with only blog contact. What a wonderful life!

Concise=good reporting. Thought you would appreciate the military compliment.
It was also very entertaining (does that help?)

I didn’t mean that you needed an editor, I feel that you are so good now that you deserve an editor.
I was replying on Mom’s smartphone and Sam snorted all over the screen. Sam is napping now so I can make corrections.

The blog has been full of wonderful Christmas surprises today. That photo is priceless.

B.
To answer your question from this morning (I worked out of town today and we just got home), I think that the substitution would work, but the result would be a nut cluster which sounds good to me too. I’d say try it.

Melanie,
Thank you for the great story and pictures that came via Mollypop. We love it and intend to keep it. Keep those runners shined up. The winter is just beginning and I wish you and the girls much more fun with the sled.
Thanks for sending the email on to us, Mollypop. Tell your mom we missed her in Ellicottville today.

We are going to print out Zoe’s story and keep it with Dan’s book, along with the bookmark, which mom won’t let me use. She doesn’t want me to “mess it up”

I have been away all day and need to catch up with the blog. BBL
10:18 pm on December 24th, 2010
Good thing I read to the bottom of the blog or Riö would have four copies!
Riö, was not allowed to do anything for the rest of the afternoon. YSAS said STOP!
So I did. We watched “A Claymation Christmas”, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “Home Alone II”. That’s the one in NYC. Snicker, YSAS kept commenting on you can’t do that there, there’s no horses allowed there, He just ran 40 blocks up town. Lots of fun.
I’m glad you all are enjoying my story. Wrote it for Zoë, Dan and Bess. Of course, after I did the PDF of it, I found more mistakes. Riö, we all need editors!
YSAS is now talking to GF. I have promised to go to sleep, but he doesn’t know that I’m writing! Snicker.
10:24 pm on December 24th, 2010
T’was the night before Christmas,
And now Dan is safe
from cranky old Hospitalists
Who just try to save face.
The iPad was a surprise. He was scared he wouldn’t be able to understand how it works, but YSAS is quite a tutor.
Tomorrow we take turns to visit him with presents. McKey will have his iPad set up for the wifi in the rehab and I’m going to ask that he put on Chet’s Blog as a link on his home page.
Take care,
Be Safe,
Have fun,
Peace on Earth.

Time to start concentrating on being merry. Remember, Santa visits me first!!! Since I know him personally, I put in a good word for *most* of you and added a plea for forgiveness for *some* of you. I hope your Christmas dreams comes true.
10:41 pm on December 24th, 2010
Good night all.
10:41 pm on December 24th, 2010
Charris!… Have you read the latest Mission report or is that way you are asking forgiveness for *some of us*???…wheeze!
10:43 pm on December 24th, 2010
Charris!…way = why…heh!
10:48 pm on December 24th, 2010
Molly ABP that is a wonderful picture!
Rio! Great mission report. I wonder why Spence is weeping? Is it the loss of the Cahours? I was very impressed with BStover. She can stand up for herself very well.
I hope the cameras come back online soon. Maybe you will have to send someone in to change the tiny little batteries.
Ohhhh Melanie, Thank you and Zoe for the lovely story. We are sure glad we found this blog. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Holiday season and a wonderful New Year.
10:53 pm on December 24th, 2010
I’ve been pretty good except for the stolen roasted chicken.
I have already put out cookies for Santa and hay for the reindeer.
Sweet Christmas dreams everyone. We love you guys and are thankful for your friendship. We love Chet and Bernie and hope they have a great vacation on that bombed out island.

This is for any Dogs on this blog. I am not sure I understand it, but I posted it on the Friends of Chet page when I first joined and now it has gone away there so here it is again.
Now I know the author so I posted that too.
Everybody SING……
A Dogs Christmas Carol
(sung to the tune of Winter Wonderland)
Dog tags ring, are you listening’?
In the lane, snow is glistenin’.
It’s yellow, NOT white I’ve been there tonight,
Marking up my winter wonderland.
Smell that tree? That’s my fragrance.
It’s a sign for wandering vagrants;
Avoid where I pee, it’s MY pro-per-ty!
Marked up as my winter wonderland.
In the meadow dad will build a snowman,
following the classical design.
Then I’ll lift my leg and let it go Man,
So all the world will know that it’s
mine-mine-mine!
Straight from me to the fence post,
flows my natural incense boast;
Stay off my TURF, this small piece of earth,
I marked it as my winter wonderland.”

11:14 pm on December 24th, 2010
Oh Rio….Santa’s world isn’t all black & white / naughty & nice. You made his rarely mentioned 3rd list entitled “nicely naughtly.” It shouldn’t affect your Christmas morning too much.
Siber-H: May you dream of a winter wonderland with a Siberian Husky frisking in the snow.
12:31 am on December 25th, 2010
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
P.S. Great report, Rio.

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get several emails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove people from that service? Thanks!
