Chetspeak on Sunday: Football, of Course
Didn’t know what Bernie heard, but I heard TV voices, very faint, coming through the wall. I could even make out a few words, like “red zone blitz,” which meant football. We watched a lot of football at home. Bernie preferred college football to pro football, had once gotten into this big argument about it with a perp we had tied up in the back of a beer truck. Kind of strange, and maybe a story for some other time.

Welcome new friend Zeb (fellow ribs lover).

Good morning, and Happy Egg Day. This morning’s eggs were sunny side up, cooked just the way the ‘rents eat them. Delish!
Hey! Mom likes college football way better than pro. So therefore: Bernie and Mom are twins!?!?!?
8:36 am on January 19th, 2014
Good morning, everyone! Chetspeak, Egg Day, life is better than good. And so many stories for another day.
Have a silky, smooth Sunday.
9:07 am on January 19th, 2014
Happy Day!
There are so many stories that Chet has saved for another day . .
I love what he wrote on his FaceBook page . . 3:00 pm is when the game starts.
Another lazy day for me. Better though. (Even though I drank an ocean yesterday)
9:25 am on January 19th, 2014
Football…of course….
Good morning all.
10:00 am on January 19th, 2014
HRH B, with the Groundhog Bowl coming up, what else would you expect?
10:06 am on January 19th, 2014
HOH: How about Seahawks Sunday?
10:23 am on January 19th, 2014
Good morning! Trying to come up with something witty to say: fail.
10:30 am on January 19th, 2014
Greetings!
Happy Egg Day, Kat! Sounds like you had a scrumptious breakfast.
Masquers, the Supper Bowl menu is still being tweaked.
RIO! loved your pictures from last night? NOW, if they really of you and Beau….
You know I love you my little puglove.
B&M, I do apologize for my graphic description yesterday. Still sick, still blowing my nose, still coughing up foreign objects.
Oh, last night’s WItte Night at the Movies was, REAR WINDOW. What a great film! And what can be said about the beautiful Grace Kelly?
Lefty, I hope you are not still leaping staircases in a single bound.
Good day, all. I will be in and out of the quilt today.
10:31 am on January 19th, 2014
Macy, I love your picture from last night. Your tail was wagging so much, it was a blur. Do you blur?
10:42 am on January 19th, 2014
Good morning all. Happy Chetspeak and Egg Day, although we are having granola here this morning.
We were sure that was Rio and Beau in the final picture last night, but they are wearing someone else’s name tags. What’s up with that?
Lefty, Avoid stairs today.
10:46 am on January 19th, 2014
Masquers: Who is against the Seahawks today? Denver and Pats? Seahawks and??????? Who would we offend (the multitudinous masses) by making it Seahawk Sunday?
10:47 am on January 19th, 2014
10:54 am on January 19th, 2014
Leave it to Larson and The Far Side to sum it up in a nutshell (what does Chet say about nutshells?)
11:00 am on January 19th, 2014
Love that one, Melanie. People describe English Shepherds as a Border Collie with an off switch.
11:02 am on January 19th, 2014
Happy Football Day!
To be fair, we are going to have to make it a Broncos, Seahawks and Patroits Sunday.
Melanie, That is one of the funniest Far Side cartoons. Mom remembers it.
11:04 am on January 19th, 2014
OK, mom is taking her life in her hands here…forget a silky smooth Sunday. At MASQUERS’ suggestion it is now…have a Seahawks Sunday. (hiding behind big chair here)
11:06 am on January 19th, 2014
Holy guacamole, Plunderers! Perhaps Siber H has the best idea yet. A super FB playoff team day (and mom’s favorite color is plaid).
11:17 am on January 19th, 2014
That name works best, HOH. Don’t forger the ‘Niners.
11:18 am on January 19th, 2014
CORRECTION:
That name works best, HOH. Don’t forget the ‘Niners.
11:26 am on January 19th, 2014
Sneeze!….I’m so excited! I hope I don’t pee all over…snort!sniffle!….Da big game is gonna start very soon! An I over-heard my friend who loves me best say dat she is going ta go get the really good pizza so we can eat during da game….wooooo!snneeeeze!
11:36 am on January 19th, 2014
I left out The Niners on purpose because I don’t know any Plunderer that is cheering for them…maybe Wolfie?
11:41 am on January 19th, 2014
Melanie: Hurray for a Good Day!
And, a Favorite Far Side cartoon.
11:48 am on January 19th, 2014
Rose: Let us hope the menu is all that is being tweaked on this day of Championship playoffs.
Yes Wolfie could very well be a 49er fan.
Have a day of rest under the quilt all who need it.
11:51 am on January 19th, 2014
…we will try to keep the cheering down to a roar. ^..^
11:55 am on January 19th, 2014
We here are cheering for the Dodgers. We are SURE that they will pull off the Hat Trick. Unless of course someone pulls that infield fly rule. But then again, they are really good shooting from outside the key.
11:56 am on January 19th, 2014
When Mom asked Pop who he was rooting for, he said the ‘Niners. She asked why, and he said because he has always liked the ‘Niners and, besides, Golden Tate plays for them. Mom sais she is probably for the Seahawks. Pop asked why, and she said “because Nana is”.
In Joe Montana/Jerry Rice days, this household did always cheer for San Fran.
11:57 am on January 19th, 2014
Dad is a Niners fan! He is afraid to watch the game because he might jinx them.
12:03 pm on January 19th, 2014
What Tupper and Gily said.
12:04 pm on January 19th, 2014
That should be Gilly.
12:17 pm on January 19th, 2014
Melanie–I’m happy to hear the day is shaping well for you.
Wose–coughing up foreign objects! I wish I’d said that (and probably will in future, in another context). I hope you’re feeling better. If not, continue to be very very kind to yourself.
Macy–I’m also failing to be witty (nothing new there), T and G can pretty much assume responsibility for my share of the sproting aspect of the conversation.
Thanks for the Larson cartoon. Everyone have a fab day.
1:05 pm on January 19th, 2014
Please don’t forger anybody.
Masquers, do you cause an earthquake at your place?
My tail has attempted to blur, but what usually happens is that I am left hanging upside down since the rest of me can’t keep up with the tail rotor.
T and G, I find it suspicious that you know all those terms. Closet sports fan, what?
Mom was watching Jimmy Fallon on line. I have no idea what this means, but he said it was a good thing that the gold rush was not 20 years later.
I believe that we should start hinting to dad for ballgame pizza, too. Pi-zza, pi-zza
Those going to Alaska, don’t forget your Passport stamp. I think I found mom a good one to represent me, and cheap (my middle name) Macy C. Nash
1:11 pm on January 19th, 2014
Macy: Let’s just say CHobbit would not be pleased. I have my own little couch with miniature cushions…everything will be in shreds by the end of the game(s).
1:13 pm on January 19th, 2014
Chetspeak on topic.
Melanie: The cartoon gave me a morning laugh!
I’m a fan of the 49’ers (left over from the Montana/Rice days), hoping for a Seattle win (because of Nana) but agree with T&G all the way because I love to see a Hat Trick.
It is sunny and warm!!! I’m going for a long walk. Then Huevos Rancheros for brunch.
1:13 pm on January 19th, 2014
ERRATUM–That was supposed to be “sporting”…
1:18 pm on January 19th, 2014
Whoa, a player named Golden Tate in the Golden State? Wooda thunk?
Macy, the original gold rush in CA was in 1849, add 20 and the number is almost pisces looking! (are we being too obtuse again? )
Daddy Dawg is expecting the middle son today. GAH! He always brings too much drama…nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I’ll go eat worms.
1:20 pm on January 19th, 2014
BTW, how many free throws are there in each inning of the play offs and does any team get a mulligan?
1:28 pm on January 19th, 2014
HOH–No, but I understand there are two lets per team per inning…
1:30 pm on January 19th, 2014
Diane: I don’t know about witty, but I know my Two-legged mama (a.k.a. That damn pixie who stole my sparkles) is not funny. She has also been known to sit on the Lack of Creativity bench from time to time like when there is a contes for book titles. It’s not a bad place to be with her. She usually brings snacks to share with the other bench warmers.
1:34 pm on January 19th, 2014
My team is whichever team Senior has claimed as his own. Case closed.
1:40 pm on January 19th, 2014
Diane, excuse us for being nosey (we are hounds, after all) but does your work have something to do with CSUF?
2:09 pm on January 19th, 2014
Masquers, I am cheering for Seattle.
Junior, Senior is cheering for the Broncos so you need to cheer really loud and hard.
2:14 pm on January 19th, 2014
What is CSUF?
What do youse guys think of the name Gucci for our new possible addition? It sounds very much like her current name, but is much more classy. The way Americans pronounce Gucci it rhymes with Poochie.
The lady in charge, Arlene, is coming up this week to do a home visit. Hope we pass!
2:15 pm on January 19th, 2014
T&G and B&M we may have missed something, but all this brouhaha, isn’t it just a game (we are ducking now).
2:16 pm on January 19th, 2014
Barb, you will pass.
2:18 pm on January 19th, 2014
B&M, a real brainstorm, Gucci is a great idea for the name, classy with a soupçon of Americanism. Good luck on the home visit, all 11 of our paws are crossed!
2:19 pm on January 19th, 2014
Thank you, Siber, and may they be howls of victory after the game.
We will be joining you and Riö and Beau and Junior for the first game coming up shortly. Paws, tails & eyes crossed.
2:26 pm on January 19th, 2014
B&M: Gucci is a purrfect name! (do Americans pronounce it wrong?)
HOH: Same question here.
2:38 pm on January 19th, 2014
Sneeze!…Dose pizza pies are here!…Whoooo!Whoooo!….I know da big game is gonna start real soon now…sneeze!…PIZZA!
2:41 pm on January 19th, 2014
Maskers!…sneeze!….You and dat Blue Kitty Kats eyes will be crossed during dis game…snort!…Somehow I know dat is good luck…eh!heh!heh!..snuffle!
2:45 pm on January 19th, 2014
Slurp!….burp!…gurgle!slurp…chomp!chomp!…slurp!…Great game so far…snort!…Oh wait…heh!heh!…burp!…Someone got jalapenos on her pizza…wheeze!…I know I will be feeling this tomorrow…grunt!
2:54 pm on January 19th, 2014
Weather!…It is 60 degrees and sunny!…heheh!…After what we’ve been through, this feel tropical….snort!…Very good weather for our quarterback too!….Wooooo!burp!
2:58 pm on January 19th, 2014
HOH, read your SDD. Understood.
Masquers, We didn’t realize this, but when we looked it up on line it said Italians pronounce it Gutti.
We now have an home visit appointment for Wednesday at 1:00.
2:59 pm on January 19th, 2014
Grunt!…Sneeze!….Rio said I could post on dis here blog during da big game…sniff!…He said if da Broncos are losing he will take over because I will be sobbing in a dark corner…grump!…Dat will not happen, no it will not…sneeze!
2:59 pm on January 19th, 2014
Beau – we’re on it, crossed eyes and all. Catch you later.
3:11 pm on January 19th, 2014
We don’t think Jimmy Fallon’s comment about the 49’s had anything to do with astrology. Let’s just leave it at that.
And here is the first of two pictures introducing the Great Miss Gucci.

3:12 pm on January 19th, 2014
3:15 pm on January 19th, 2014
Lordy, Lordy, Miz Gucci, you are indeed a beautiful lady. Hope you get to live with Barb and Maggie. Size isn’t an issue, just walk under Maggie Pie 🙂
3:22 pm on January 19th, 2014
Wait until Redbone Hound sees Miss Gucci…
3:28 pm on January 19th, 2014
Score!….Broncos score first…sneeeeeeeeze!….WooooHoooo!…Where is dat bowl of beer?…sneeeeze!
3:30 pm on January 19th, 2014
Va Va Boom. Miss Gucci!
3:30 pm on January 19th, 2014
Cough!…Rio has eaten all da hot-wings and now dere is only some jalapeno pizza left…burp!…I do not think I should eat jalapena pizza, not with my irregularity issues…sniff!
3:31 pm on January 19th, 2014
VOOM, IT’S VA VA VOOM!
3:40 pm on January 19th, 2014
Rio: Are youse drinking Cousin Rufus’ Rahr Brew?
3:42 pm on January 19th, 2014
That last comment should have been addressed to You, Beau, since it is Your Paws on the keyboard.
3:43 pm on January 19th, 2014
Oh my, oh dear, I hope Miz Macy doesn’t have a snit over Miz Gucci. Did you know that the Basset nose and ability to track is second only to the Bloodhound? Mr. Redbone, being a Coonhound, is probably very comparable to the Basset. Being a senior gal, she probably has no interest in romance, so Macy, we think you are safe. Anyway, nice girls don’t try to take another girl’s boyfriend.
3:45 pm on January 19th, 2014
Miss Gucci is a very pretty lady!! She looks excited to finally be receiving some attention. Hope this works out for her and for Maggie. Can’t decide who to cheer for in this first game. Know we want Seattle to win the 2nd game.
3:46 pm on January 19th, 2014
Ms.Gucci is a beauty!
3:48 pm on January 19th, 2014
Haven’t heard from Macy since just afternoon. Probably on m i l watch. Hope all is ok there. Our thoughts are with them.
Melanie, it is Sunday, drink, slosh, flush 🙂
3:51 pm on January 19th, 2014
Senior: Where does one get a couch cushion of their very own? I don’t think we’ll need it, but I like to be prepared.
3:55 pm on January 19th, 2014
Maggie: Paws crossed that all works out for you and Gucci. We are happy to be a character reference for you.
3:56 pm on January 19th, 2014
Hiding behind sofa in shame . .
Miss Gucci is cute!
3:57 pm on January 19th, 2014
WOOOOO!…sneeeeze!….Dose Broncos just scored a touchdown!….WOOOOO!….sneeeeze!,,,,eh!heh!….My friend who loves me best is twirling around and around….snuffle!….I hope dose jalapenos are not cause her disturbance already…snuffle!
4:05 pm on January 19th, 2014
OOops, we missed the first quarter.
4:13 pm on January 19th, 2014
We are here, mom has been looking at doodles on the ‘puter.
There is plenty of Mr. Redbone Hound to go around, so long as he keeps it quiet. Ms. Gucci deserves all the best in life.
I could really go for some of those Pringles right now.
M-I-L is unchanged. Dad is home.
4:24 pm on January 19th, 2014
Macy, we think the m i l is waiting for something or someone. Have seen someone wait for an out of area relative to come. Even though “comatose” the relation was mentioned in the room. The “imminent demise” didn’t occur until 15 min. after said person walked in 3 days later! Feel badly for Rick, this must be putting him through a wringer (gah, showing our age with that phrase).
4:27 pm on January 19th, 2014
Diane – really? TWO lets per inning? But we thought this was the playoffs. Surely if one of the bowlers picks up a seven ten split, they will get an extra let. right?
Maggie – we think your potential roommate is very cute. We have heard many good things about Bassett Hounds, especially the sweetness factor.
Macy – sigh….we know, its hard, but she has to pick her own time. Give you Dad a head bump from us.
4:27 pm on January 19th, 2014
Score!….Update on da score so far in dis awesomeness of games. It is 13 ta 3 Broncos!….sneeeze!…Now it is Half-Time which around here we like ta call “Slurp n’ Burp”…eh!heh!heh!….snort!
4:40 pm on January 19th, 2014
I know the Broncos are ahead, but this is still nerve-wracking.
4:43 pm on January 19th, 2014
Macy, We are thinking of your mom and dad. God speed to Rick’s mother.
4:47 pm on January 19th, 2014
Just got back in after watching over Mom on her cold winter ride on Annie.
Gucci! That is a great name!!!! Hope she comes to live with Maggie because she sure is cute and deserves a good home with Barb.
Time for a nice warm bath and then we will catch up with the game afterwards.
4:48 pm on January 19th, 2014
Oh, and Macy, tell your mom and dad that we are praying for your grandmom’s peaceful passing.
4:55 pm on January 19th, 2014
SNEEEZE!….Wow! Another touchdown by da Broncos!….WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!…cough!cough!sneeze!…eh!heh!heh!
5:09 pm on January 19th, 2014
Belle Starr–As you have correctly noted, I am also a frequent occupant of the Lack of Creativity bench
HOH–Not nosey at all, I don’t think–maybe just making inferences. And no, but the late great husband was a founding faculty member (in fact,to hear him tell it, THE founding faculty member) of the Econ. Department. I wasn’t alive at the time, so can’t confirm or deny.
5:18 pm on January 19th, 2014
B and M–Ms. Gucci is lovely and has the perfect name (how else would one pronounce “Gucci”?)
T and G–I think during the playoffs the behind the bowler’s arm rule applies: “Anything moving in front of or close to the screen at the bowler’s end causes a distraction, and play will be held up until it is removed. On a club ground, such delays are usually caused by wandering dogs…tourists or members of the batting side walking the boundary when they think the captain might be looking for someone to take over the scorebook.”
CSUF is California State University, Fullerton, part of the second tier CSU system of the California Master Plan for higher education.
5:25 pm on January 19th, 2014
Diane – we think that rule sounds about right. We bet a certain losing QB will blame “wandering dogs on the sidelines”
tee hee
5:27 pm on January 19th, 2014
D, thanks. The first hubby graduated there somewhere around 75 or 76. We did a lot of things with the cinematography dept. as he wanted to be a photographer. Got the degree but never foto career. Mom went to University of Redlands and UCI (Irvine for ferigners).
5:35 pm on January 19th, 2014
Does anyone else have a GINORMOUS image of Chet and Bernie behind their blog page?
5:36 pm on January 19th, 2014
Diane, We posted earlier that when we looked it up Gucci is pronounced like Gutt{i} in Italian. Evidently the c is pronounced as a t. We did not know that, but we will say it to rhyme with Poochie.
5:38 pm on January 19th, 2014
T & G, No.
5:41 pm on January 19th, 2014
Chet!…Ginormous Chet an Bernie!…sneeze!…Yes! It has always been dat way…eh!heh!heh!…My Broncos are still winning and it is da 4th quarter….snort!snort!sneeze!
5:46 pm on January 19th, 2014
Miss Gucci! What a wonderful thing this could be.
5:47 pm on January 19th, 2014
T&G, No.
5:48 pm on January 19th, 2014
T and G Ms. Gucci can join the height deficiency branch of the Plunder Hounds. She has a pretty smile.
5:57 pm on January 19th, 2014

6:05 pm on January 19th, 2014
This long day is not over…yet.
6:05 pm on January 19th, 2014
Ok sorry, 49er fans, we here want to see Masquers and BSD vs. the Pugs in the Bowl.
That is one of those sentences that needs a comma. I left it out and it was sorry 49ers, heh-heh.
6:08 pm on January 19th, 2014
Patriots!….Broncos beat them, soundly….snort!….Un-freakin’ believable!….ZOW!Wow!
6:10 pm on January 19th, 2014

Beau!…He is UP!…snort!…And we are celebrating!…Woooo!
6:20 pm on January 19th, 2014
Rio, That is the best quote about the football game…”Un- freakin believeable”
YARK!! The Broncos are going to the Superbowl. Beau and I called this one early in the season. YARK!!!
GO SEAHAWKS!!!!
6:25 pm on January 19th, 2014
RIO! BEAU! Wooooooooohoooooooo! Maybe your Broncos tag brought the team good luck! Look for a Denver Broncos calendar next year!
6:35 pm on January 19th, 2014
Ann Wilson!
6:36 pm on January 19th, 2014
We say the Broncos really bucked off the Patriots.
tee hee
6:39 pm on January 19th, 2014
OK, Howlers. Have a Heart and explain that Ann Wilson comment.
6:49 pm on January 19th, 2014
OH, lost us on “Ann Wilson!” explain, please, in English.
6:52 pm on January 19th, 2014
DUH! How can I be so empty headed!? I guess the ECT took not just my memory but part of the grey matter as well. I didn’t know Chet and Bernie of the Alaskan branch of the Little Detective Agency were the Facebook FOM!
Go, ahead and laugh, I deserve it!
What a dope I am!
6:54 pm on January 19th, 2014
Beau – good game, fellow Peyton fan.
Ann Wilson? No idea.
Macy’s Mom & Dad – wishing you peace through this challenge.
Miss Gucci is a keeper, Barb & Maggie. She’s classy.
6:54 pm on January 19th, 2014
Ann Wilson? Are youse referring to the band HEART?
6:54 pm on January 19th, 2014
We don’t know about Ann Wilson either.
This is a question for Masquers who watches a lot of movies. We can watch The Day After tomorrow or Planet of the Apes (the new one). Which do you suggest?
6:55 pm on January 19th, 2014
Miss Macy , please know my thoughts are with you and your family. Peace be with you.
7:10 pm on January 19th, 2014
Wilsons!….Anne Wilson is the sister of Russell Wilson who is the quarterback of Masker’s Seattle Seahawks team…snort!…If I’m lying, I’m farting…heh!heh!…Also, she sang the National Anthem before the Seahawks game started…grunt!
7:13 pm on January 19th, 2014
Rio, you are always pooting! But TY for the wilson info.
7:16 pm on January 19th, 2014
We just noticed Spence’s comments on Facebook about two women who are champion patters, so “go pats”.
Really, Spence.
Our street has turned into a slalom course worthy of the Jamaican bobsled team. We have been watching a waltz of spinning cars go by for the last hour.
The snow last night melted into puddles and wet roads, and now we have a hard freeze. Makes for interesting drving
7:19 pm on January 19th, 2014
Anne Wilson is 63 years old.
7:25 pm on January 19th, 2014
SiberH!…Those guys don’t know that!….snort!snort!
7:45 pm on January 19th, 2014
Maskers!….sneeze!….Your team is starting ta play now…eh!heh!…Dey just needed a quarter to warm up to the idea of it all…snuffle!…Now dey will kick some San Fran butt big time…sneeze!snort!
7:51 pm on January 19th, 2014
Sorry for confusion for you who aren’t watching this game. We yelled Ann Wilson when she came out to sing the National Anthem before the Seahawks game we love her.
We were eating tacos and so we didn’t see your questions.
So Pop confused us earlier. Golden Tate actually plays for Seattle, not San Fran. So therefore…
7:52 pm on January 19th, 2014
T&G: Ann Wilson…have a Heart…chortle.
B&M: Both movies are about the same. We would suggest The Day After Tomorrow because of the blog talk about it.
Watched The Butler and agree it is excellent.
btw: anyone have any extra couch cushions?
8:06 pm on January 19th, 2014
The Help just started on TNT, Barb. Did you see that movie?
8:14 pm on January 19th, 2014
Booties!…Does anyone know, did the Bootie fund reach it’s goal?….sniff!
8:19 pm on January 19th, 2014
O’Howlers, we saw The help previously, and then watched most of it again last night. Also read the book. Big fans of both.
We are going to take Masquer’s advice and watch Day After. Thanks, and Later.
8:33 pm on January 19th, 2014

8:47 pm on January 19th, 2014
Howlers, One thing we wanted to mention about watching The Help last night. Someone decided to dub in the word “spit” for the real word that was used in the scene with Minnie and Hilley, one of the most powerful scenes in the movie. By substituting a different word rather than bleeping, it totally destroyed the scene, IMHO. They continued to use the word spit throughout the rest of the movie. That made it seem like not such a bid deal. What do you think?
8:48 pm on January 19th, 2014
Kats!….All Kats rooting for dem Seahawk birds…sneeze!…Maybe dis is da fundamental problem…sniff!…We need more Dawgs rooting on dis blog for our Maskers team….sneeze!
8:49 pm on January 19th, 2014
OOF! An exhausting day with 5 kids. Two very nice with their mother and three wind up toys that were twisted tight. But we got them all finished and home safe with their new pillowcases. Dogs, Cats and Owls are hot right now. Oh, and deer. I have to go see if Dad needs help in the kitchen and then I will be back to read the days blog. I hope there were a few more donations to the Booty fund.

8:54 pm on January 19th, 2014
Barb and Maggie, we agree. That is a stupid word substitution. We wonder why they did that. We don’t even see a reason to bleep it. What channel was that? TNT?
8:55 pm on January 19th, 2014

Rose: Don’t beat yourself up about not knowing about the Detectives being the FB Friends of the Month. Our Lady has failed to send information via SDD to SQPA. She says she has been busy, whatever that means.
9:16 pm on January 19th, 2014

9:17 pm on January 19th, 2014
Howlers, Yes we think it was on TNT. It is on again tonight.
You go, Fern. We assume the Seahawks are the birds, right?
9:19 pm on January 19th, 2014

9:34 pm on January 19th, 2014
B and M–I had started that post about an hour earlier, then wandered off, and finally finished after you had posted the Italian pronunciation. I apologize.
T and G–I absolutely agree–so many things are (wrongly) blamed onmembers of The Nation.
HOH: I got my Ph.D at UCI some years ago, then went back to fulfill a lifetime dream of studying classical Greek (yes, it was totally hard). Dogs in Greek literature are given dialog like Bau-au-au (kind of hard to render without a Greek font, but I am not making this up.)
9:35 pm on January 19th, 2014
I can’t believe we are missing Downton Abby for a football game! Grrr
Good thing Mom has off tomorrow.
9:38 pm on January 19th, 2014
Strategy!…sneeze!…I am not a strategically oriented pug, but my gut feeling says the Big Birds need to score and real soon like….grunt!sniff!….Dis needs to be a two score game or it will be too close to call….wiffle!sniffle!
9:39 pm on January 19th, 2014
B and M–I missed the dubbed version of The Help, but agree that substituting “spit” is ridiculous (it wasn’t bleeped in the televised verison I saw…). Kind of like dubbing “forget it!”, “forget her!” for the real expletive in Glen Garry Glen Ross.
9:40 pm on January 19th, 2014
Sniff!…You mean supporting Nana, Maskers and the dead guy, Bear is not as important as some show about rich snobbish people?…snuffle!sneeze!
9:41 pm on January 19th, 2014
So we got us another Dr. person here. I never even went to school. Annie got her degree from Petsmart U.
9:43 pm on January 19th, 2014
Sneeze!…Maybe I have recruited on the wrong blog…groan!…Maybe dis is not the blog that is support-hose to friends in need…sniff!…I must be in da wrong place again. It always happens to me…wheeze!sneeze!
9:44 pm on January 19th, 2014
No couch cushion is safe!!!
9:45 pm on January 19th, 2014
Macy, if we hang around these smart people, maybe something will wear off on us.
Beau, that’s why we are still watching the game instead of our favorite show. We here love Nana and Masquers and yep, even the dead guy. Heh!
9:45 pm on January 19th, 2014
Settle down, Beau. All is well. Go chew your cushion.
9:47 pm on January 19th, 2014
Sneeze!….At least the Mini Pinny is here wiff me and Maskers and Nana and dat dead guy, Bear….eh!heh!heh!…Dose Big Birds might just pull dis out of their squawks!…heh!

9:49 pm on January 19th, 2014
Beau, the Go Seapugs Hawk: We are supporting Nana’s team.. Nothing says support like an extra helping of beer and hot wings.
Macy: Before we forget, we wanted to let you know you and your family are in our hearts and prayers.
9:50 pm on January 19th, 2014
SEAHAWKS INTERCEPT!!!!!
9:50 pm on January 19th, 2014

9:51 pm on January 19th, 2014
Burp! Beau’s avatar does not go down as smooth as hot wings.
9:52 pm on January 19th, 2014
There cannot be any couch cushions left at Nana’s.
9:52 pm on January 19th, 2014
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. Granny continues to hang in there.
9:52 pm on January 19th, 2014
Oh!…OH!…OH!…sneeze!
9:54 pm on January 19th, 2014
We have a WINNER!!!!! whooohooowHOOO
9:54 pm on January 19th, 2014
Staff, Giacomo Puccini is or was very classy, however us, not so much. We will put that on our list, but since we are not into opera, it will probably be #2 on the list. I bet Diane C knows Puccini. We are more into boot-stompin, spit-kickin C & W. Right, Macy?
9:56 pm on January 19th, 2014
Cotton-eyed Joe me, Maggie.
9:56 pm on January 19th, 2014
Wow, who needs to control the tv at night when all y’all explain what is happening so well! It’s almost like watching with the sound off. The POP supports da boids too.
9:56 pm on January 19th, 2014
Congratulations, Masquers. What a game. Whew!
Now, we will go watch DA.
9:59 pm on January 19th, 2014
Unbelievable!…snort!snort!….Seahawks vs Broncos in the big BIG BIG Supper Bowl!…Wooooo!…..Nana, I hate to say this, but you are going down!down!down!….heh!heh!…..Let the games and the smack-talk begin!….Woooooo!
9:59 pm on January 19th, 2014
We did it!!!
Us dogs did it!
Seahawks won!
10:03 pm on January 19th, 2014
The lines are already being drawn at the kennel. Junior says he must cheer for the Broncos to honor the pug side of his family. Belle Starr says she must support katdog, Masquers because they are both black and white. So therefore…
10:05 pm on January 19th, 2014
Whew! Seattle (who we were wanting to win because of extended family in Washington State) had better play alot better than that or Denver will eat them for lunch and spit out the bones!!
10:09 pm on January 19th, 2014
B and M–So should that be pronounced “Puttini”? (I did have an uber-highbrow friend who pronounced it “Pew-cini”). I myself never met the man–I think he died early 20th century. Here’s a clip of one of his big hits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-4TSWg2h3w
10:10 pm on January 19th, 2014
BooBear!…I am so glad you said that and not me…heh!heh!…Smack-talk is even better when others do it for you!…snort!
10:15 pm on January 19th, 2014
We are pondering…horses against birds in New Jersey for the Groundhog Bowl. Is that about it?
10:17 pm on January 19th, 2014
Macy–the gorgeous don’t need degrees–they have their own perfection instead.
Beau–I’m trying to be supportive and helpful–what can I do to help?
It took my a while to go back and find where the Puccini ref. came from–got it.
10:21 pm on January 19th, 2014
Macy, How about Slappin’ Leather, Tush Push Boogie or the Electric Slide. Oh, such fun when Barb was younger.
Diane, Maybe it should be pronounced Pew-cini. We do not know.
Barb is now at the patio door yelling “YO, Puccini, get in here.” It does have a certain ring it. Will have to give more thought to this.
10:22 pm on January 19th, 2014
BooBear, I am laughing. Your post does not sound like the sweet kat we all know and love.
10:23 pm on January 19th, 2014
Help!…sneeze!…When everyone takes sides, then take da side of my Broncos…sniff!…That will help, maybe…grunt!

Yukon Quest food drop video.
10:33 pm on January 19th, 2014
Sorry, SiberH! We just were very disappointed in the game. And the player who got in the camera at the end really was classless!
10:42 pm on January 19th, 2014
Diane, thank you for the link to Anna singing Puccini.
Night all.
10:42 pm on January 19th, 2014
I have always thought it is Pooh-Cheeni with the accent on the Chee. But really have no idea unless it is years of listening to NPR.
10:58 pm on January 19th, 2014
So, now we have to choose a SeaHawk or a Bronco? Hmmm
Well, SeaHawks are Hawks, and Daddy is Bird Clan and our last name does have Hawk in it.
But Mama loves horses, and had an American Mustang which is like a Bronco.
Hmmmm
Well, the SeaHawks do have prettier uniforms…..
Nope – still don’t care.
11:05 pm on January 19th, 2014
Who was that player spouting his mouth off in the camera after the game, and what was he talking about?
11:10 pm on January 19th, 2014
BooBear, I think your post is cute and very well said.
Night All
11:14 pm on January 19th, 2014
tupper and Gilly…hahahahahah. We don’t care either….snicker
And Rio, Earlier you mentioned the booty fund. Well I am sad to say there was very limited response to the matching fund offer. Right now we are trying to match 110.00 dollars. We are hoping everyone was so busy today that they didn’t do any matching. If we match the 110.00 then we will be at 885.00 but if not subtract 110 from that total. Sniff.
sob sob sob.
goodnight all and good night to Gucci or Poochy or Puccini wherever you are. Good luck Barb.
