Chetspeak on Sunday

We walked over to our place and around to the back gate. Bernie unlocked it and we went inside. “Welcome,” he said. “I’m Bernie Little, by the way.”

“Ellie,” said special investigator Newburg. “I like your fountain,” she added as they shook hands.

“It’s a swan.”

Ellie Newburg quickly let go of Bernie’s hand. “I can see that.”

“A bit abstract,” Bernie said. “This particular rendering, which was why I mentioned it.”

“It’s not abstract to me,” said Ellie. “And it captures the essence of swans very well, in my opinion.”

“The essence being?”

“That beauty can be nasty inside.”

Then came a silence in which they both quickly looked at each other and quickly looked away. No idea what that was all about. What were we even doing? I had no idea. But it was always nice to be on the patio. No complaints, amigo.

We are back from vacation!!! And all united. Courtney was great, but it’s always better when the whole family (including Bella Rossa) are together.
We only briefly skimmed thru last week’s posts, so we may have missed most of the news.
Spence!!! We can’t wait for SAS! You are really wetting outpr appetite. “Essence of a swan” indeed! Heh! That is such a great way of seeing it.

Nice of Spence to whet our appetites.

Swans are beautiful, but we have heard that they can be a little intimidating.

Hanging out at home today, with perhaps a bit of yard work if it dries out.

Wose, Please let us know how you are. We have been missing you on the blog.

ML, glad to know your sale went well.

    Howlers, welcome back.

Bernie seens to have strange women in his life: his mother whom we hope to learn more about this Christmas, Leda, the ex and her swan. We wonder about Suzie Sanchez. And now Ellie Newburg, mmm?

    Hi everyone.
Welcome home Howlers. Now how about some more pics of the beautiful Baby Bella.
Barb – you are a card.
Sun time on the deck, then back to “real” life – groceries and assorted errands. Sigh

Walkies are done. Fought off the giant mosquitoes to pick some beans. Still have to cut some grass.

Staff, Are your Kentucky Wonder pole beans really long (8″- 10″)and flat? We don’t remember them looking like that. These are from some seeds we saved from last year and we are wondering if somehow they cross pollinated with the Italian beans.

Going to marinate a pork tenderloin. Here is what we came up with:
soy sauce, garlic, green onion, honey, dijon mustard and olive oil. Marinate 4-6 hours and then grill.

So many chores that needed to be caught up on. But now the ‘rents have decided they did enough, and we are all back to enjoupying our last day of vacation.
Mom took a DNA sample from Kat and Bella. She will be mailing it tomorrow, hopefully.

Hi, guys! Hope all are having a great weekend.

Hobbit, why did you have MrBig shaved again? Mom thought that long haired cats were only shaved if they were tangled beyond any help.

Boo Bear: mr. Big is actually one hot cat in the summer. His long hair is not silky but “cottony” which does not help. However, since he did not like the experience, I may not do it again

Teddy and Zet had a fun day yesterday at Clopper Lake in Seneca Creek State Park. In addition to hiking around the entire lake (about 6 miles), at one of the picnic areas there was a slide, which Zeta tried out. She is a real natural at it too.

OK that time we could watch it. Very cute, but I think that poor pug was looking overheated by the end.

Teddy wasn’t as sure about the side thing, but it was a lot of fun to join in the celebration as one of the two-leggeds (Zeta’s mom) came down the slide.

WE loved the pug’s eye view of Dodger Stadium (we used to call it Chavez Ravine). Dogs on slides looked like lots of fun! and chilling in the creek looked good too!
We hope Mr. Siber H’s Maw is watching even if she doesn’t say squat!
Squat reminds us of Wose, Speak, please!
So much going on…we love it! Darah Thea especially since she is reminding us to be a good gal!

Slow day on this here blog.
But we love the latest chapter in “Teddy Loves Zeta”.

Meanwhile – Mama and the Storyteller went to do errands today. A local Big Lots store was doing a 20% off day – they casually looked at a mattress since they have been talking about a new one. It was a name brand, pillow top, cool gel, fancy schmancy and all that, and with the sale, the price was only $455.
Kind of as a joke, they went to the Sleepys mattress store at the other end of the mall and asked if they would price match.
They DID. What’s more, they gave them another 20% off!
We may not have any luck at lotteries, but tell you what – our Mama can shop!
And we get to sleep on the new bed. Mama said so.

B,M&L, Of course I am a husky!!!! But my godmom always questions if I am 100% Sibe. Momma and I will be making her eat her words, I am sure. Heh!

Golinka: My Lady some upgrades are worth the cost. Not only did she upgrade to me, a pillow who wags, she has always opted for the non-pooping kind of upgraded puppy. Unfortunately, that model is on back order.

  43. Queen Tupper and Court Jester Gilly
    11:28 pm on July 12th, 2015

But Tenzing – how could such an upgraded pup ever be called SuperPooper? That’s one of our Mama’s most favoritest names for us.

That and “Corgi Porgie,Pudding and Pie”. We just don’t know which one of us is which, since we both come running at the sound of that one.

Barb, I don’t grown Kentucky Wonder because I don’t do pole beans. However Mr.Staff has planted some in his corn and they are always round not flat. You might have some cross pollination going on there.

Amalia you are the pink bulldozer of shoppers too!

My guest goes home tomorrow. She is packing right now. In between procrastinating.

    Only two more days!

    Night all
