Chetspeak on Sunday
They were talking about sports? Sports: maybe the best idea humans ever came up with, in my opinion. Back when we were on the football case, I actually got into a real game! Bernie and I were right on the sideline, on account of we had to stay close to the blackmailer – it’s all coming back to me now, love when that happens – who turned out to be the assistant coach, yes, right on the sideline, close up to the action, when a punt happened, one of those punts down deep, whatever that means, but it’s the expression Bernie uses and he really knows football – played in high school, but dropped it when he went to West Point so he could concentrate on baseball – but forget that part, the point being that on the down deep punt the receiver stays away from the ball in the hope that it goes into the end zone, wherever that is, and meanwhile the other team tries to corral the ball, and footballs bounce in a crazy way, and when I see something crazy like that –

Good morning, everyone! What a great Chetspeak and it does football justice.
We’ve had our Egg Day here. Soft cooked. Delish! But mom sure makes funny faces! Hope all under the quilt are feeling better and/or stronger.
Sun is out here and it may get up to 50F 🙂 Have a superlative Sunday.
8:56 am on January 18th, 2015
Good morning everyone. Happy Egg Day and Happy Sunday.
Hope Spence is feeling good today, and glad The Storyteller had a fun party last night. His cake was so cool!
9:01 am on January 18th, 2015
B&M&L, Morning! The fotos of the party looked great. Smiles, friends and family (which we all knows means more than just biology!).
9:40 am on January 18th, 2015
Good morning, and a Very Happy Egg Day. We eat ours waw…our favorite way,
T&G, the party photos were great. We are so happy youse all had a good time. Kat is wondering if you noticed her hanging out in the corner? She says it would not have been a party for the Storyteller weithout her there.
Raining here today. Carpola!
9:41 am on January 18th, 2015
Umm that would be RAW not waw. Curses.
9:45 am on January 18th, 2015
Chet: I think you’d be a natural at football. (And I’m laughing at the fourth “sentence.”)
Good morning all.
9:53 am on January 18th, 2015
HRH B: Would that be the fourth and final “sentence”? Is Chet’s narration called:stream of consciousness?
10:00 am on January 18th, 2015
Morning everyone.
Kat – of course Mama saw you at the party, but she didn’t give you away. You know how restaurant people can be about members of the nation within.
Why do you think she “dropped” that plate of sushi over by the corner?
10:06 am on January 18th, 2015
OMD! I thought that was an accident and was giving myself a pat on the back for my speed and agility on scooping up that delish sushi. I do think Leonard knew I was there, because I smothered him with kisses (here, they call that waterboarding..heh!).
10:12 am on January 18th, 2015
The pictures of the party are wonderful. I’m glad the “surprise” came off.
Yes, the fourth sentence is stream of consciousness–inside Chet’s mind. I love it!
10:18 am on January 18th, 2015
Bee, that was one slightly run on sentence, but so Chet. He changes directions seamlessly. There I said it.
No rain here, and since it is supposed to reach mid 30s this afternoon, there may be a walk in my future.
10:25 am on January 18th, 2015
Greetings!
The pictures of the Storyteller’s party are wonderful! And I do not believe he is 80, no, I do not!
Rainy, icy weather here today.
May all those under the quilt feel tip-top ASAP1
Enjoy the day!
10:26 am on January 18th, 2015
Stream of consciousness defined:

10:30 am on January 18th, 2015
Bee, we Members of the Nation Within do not belive in or follow the grammatical restrictions (limits) of a “sentence”. Oh no we do not.
10:36 am on January 18th, 2015
You guys are making me laugh.
I don’t know if anyone has read James Joyce’s Ulysses. (It’s not a novel I’d recommend for fun reading.) The final forty-three pages comprise one “sentence.” We’re in the mind of Molly Bloom, the wife of the main character, Leopold Bloom, before she goes to sleep one night.
For anyone interested, all ten episodes of Gracepoint are on On Demand.
10:43 am on January 18th, 2015
From what I’ve been seeing on Mom’s facebookie, the roads in our region are sheets of ice. Bridges are closed, as are main highways. There are a ton of accidents, including a 60-car pileup on the Schuylkill Expressway. Thank Dog we had no plans, except to spend some quality cuddling time indoors.
10:55 am on January 18th, 2015
Good Morning All–I’m running a bit late and just caught up on yesterday’s blog–all birthdays looked to be well-celebrated.
Royal Mum–Great photos and who needs sparkles with a headdress like that?
HOH–(Back to hummus, baba, etc.) I ultimately bought something labeled “mutabal ganush” but otherwise the same baba we know and love. The local take-out place (which I think is Syrian or Lebanese, but don’t quote me) calls it something else entirely (then adds “baba ganoush” to clarify for the Americans).
11:04 am on January 18th, 2015
B, M and L–Boko Haram kidnapped (and reportedly sold into slavery, violated and/or forced into “marriage” 200 young girls last May, since then some have managed to escape but some are still missing. Their families demonstrate at the capital, but it does seem like the Nigerian govt could be doing more.
B, M and L–the olives sound like an interesting addition (one local variation here is to add avocado, which makes it sort of like reduced-fat guacamole).
Ah, food–I can’t shower or wash my hair for another 24 hours so am afraid to leave the house (hair is matted to my head), so meditation at home, dancing giraffes, and dogs looking resentfully at me because of no walks. Piffle.
11:15 am on January 18th, 2015
DianeC, rest, recuperate, relax. Those are the 3 R’s you are to practive today. We guarantee that if you climb under the quilt for a bit, you will soon HEEL, er, heal.
WE are blurring your way with nursing duties in mind. Darah is a great big soft pillow with enough room for you, Conan, Edgar and Ms Pretty. Blondie can do headstands to keep you amused. Lucy Lou is a trained LVN (lovely vocal nut)
Even Pookie is coming to herd your 3 on their walkie, after all she is 1/2 Aussie Shep.
11:15 am on January 18th, 2015
Diane – that’s what hats are for. You should see Mama’s collection.
11:43 am on January 18th, 2015
HOH, T and G–thanks for the tips (hmmm–I DO have a couple of hats…)
Blondie does headstands?
12:11 pm on January 18th, 2015
Good morning all. It is still morning here (9 am). I slept well and woke feeling great! The sun is shining and life is good!
Love Chet’s stream of consciousness!
Kat: Do not let your ma & pa go traveling today. No way, no how!
HOH: The herd has all the bases covered! Good herd!
12:24 pm on January 18th, 2015
Yark! A certain lurker is arriving in Sun Country as we speak.
This is so kool…er, I mean warm. ^..^
12:25 pm on January 18th, 2015
Diane, am looking for headstand….
12:32 pm on January 18th, 2015

12:34 pm on January 18th, 2015
Except Diane…She may need another day or so Under the Quilt.
12:55 pm on January 18th, 2015
Happy Chetspeak Day Everyone!
T&G, Thanks for the wonderful pictures last night. The party was a big success.
Wose, American Sniper is shattering all box office records this weekend.
I’ll be cheering for New England along with Spence.
Another Spring like day here.

Masquers, Are you trying to give me bad dreams?
Mom likes the photo.
2:10 pm on January 18th, 2015
I saw a horse! I was at my post in the window, guarding, guarding, and this giant animal was out there. I sat up very straight, of course alert and professional, but I didn’t bark. I just watched. I hope he comes back.
2:12 pm on January 18th, 2015
B: Thanks for the heads up about Gracepoint On Demand.
Also, the Second Season of Broadchurch will be debuting soon.
It will be Interesting to See what the differences are in the two shows (first season)
Now…It is Time for Beau and me to get all the Snacks Ready for the Big Game(s).
Go Hawks! Go Patriots!
2:16 pm on January 18th, 2015
Loulou, why was that horse out there? We are fairly certain he was not an Arab, since it is so cold where you are.
2:17 pm on January 18th, 2015
LouLou: Woozer! Your Mom must be So Proud of You. Sitting Straight, Alert and Professional and No Barking. I know I couldn’t have been so Calm and Cool seeing something so wonderful.
2:25 pm on January 18th, 2015
I’m also wondering why a horse was outside LouLou’s window.
Season 2 of Broadchurch begins March 4. Here’s a link:

2:33 pm on January 18th, 2015
There was a man riding the horse. Buffalo Convention Center is across the street so I think something was going on there. Living the downtown life has all sorts of excitement.
2:41 pm on January 18th, 2015
LouLou: Was it a policeman riding on horseback? Perhaps something to do with tomorrow’s MLK celebrations….
2:52 pm on January 18th, 2015
MLK Day! Momma has the day off, and will be home with me me me! I was pawsitive that it stood for Momma Loves Kat Day, but Momma says no, that it is a day to celebrate the life of a great man. She wishes there was another man like him around today.
2:53 pm on January 18th, 2015
Kat: Hear, Hear!
3:00 pm on January 18th, 2015
B: I Can’t Wait for Broadchurch on March 4th! If that Preview is any indication It’s Going to Be Great.
3:10 pm on January 18th, 2015
Just saw the Birthday pictures! What a great party. I am very sorry I missed it. I will turn my out of town guests away at your 90th and be at that one! Love to all.Zoe and Mac
3:16 pm on January 18th, 2015
We agree about Dr. King. A truly great man.
BSD, Do you know how to find what channel it will be on in the US? We have Comcast here at our house.
3:18 pm on January 18th, 2015
Zoe – Mama is already starting to plan for it. 10 years will fly by like nothing.
3:24 pm on January 18th, 2015
Pumpkin!…Bread just came out of the oven and the 1st game has started!…snort!…I am rooting for who? I guess I will just watch this game. Both teams are lethal enemies of ours…sniff!…Like SiberH and Spencer and Admin I will be rooting for the Pariots later this afternoon…gruffle!
3:38 pm on January 18th, 2015
GAH 12:25 to 3:30…mom has been on the fone with BOTH directv and at&t trying to resolve her new update (u verse). Here is the script:
Directv: Blah, blah, blah.
AT&T: Blah, blah, blan.
Direvtv: Blah blah, OH, Wait, we need an IT Engineer. (Mom was really scared at that point. OH WELL… 3 Cutomer svc reps and 2 engineers and mom now has her tv and ipad and fones working as advertised…GAH, do they do this to little old people? All they want is tv. Mom wants what they advertise she should get when she pays for it 🙁 (raspberry noise: PPPPFFFFFFT!)
3:41 pm on January 18th, 2015
Seattle!…The Seahawks look to be struggling…chorkel!…Sorry Maskers, but one does not often see the Seahawks struggle!…heh!heh!
3:41 pm on January 18th, 2015
Lurker!…I hope the Lurker family can get to their hotel quick as little bunnies so they can watch the big game!…snort!

LouLou: Who’s a good girl?
BSD: Mmm, March 4th, please remind us!
Kat:We agree…Mama Loves Kats day is what it should be, you silly dog!
Rio: Pumpkin Bread??? HOH is on the way. We love all things pumpkin! We can even bring some mini-loaf pans for ya to bake with. Aren’t we nice 🙂

DianeC. Resting in preparation for a big headstand:

3:58 pm on January 18th, 2015
Barb: If your question is about the second season of Broadchurch, it is on BBCAmerica.
3:59 pm on January 18th, 2015
Barb: I have Comcast and it is channel 114 here.
4:31 pm on January 18th, 2015
Bread!…Unbelievable….snort!…Someone taste tested the pumpkin bread, which she baked in an 8×8 cake dish like she did with Stover’s banana bread. It takes a very cold-hearted person to be able to sit up in her chair with a pug on each side looking up with big begging eyes and her not giving us even a bite…sniff!….She says there are little chocolate chip bits in the pumpkin bread and we cannot eat that stuff…grumble!…I think she adds those little chocolate chip bits just so she does not have to share and she can feel very guilt-free about it all…grump!
4:41 pm on January 18th, 2015
I love pumpkin bread. I’ve made it with dates but never with chocolate chips.
4:59 pm on January 18th, 2015
See!…No one puts chocolate chips in pumpkin bread except for my friend, and we all know why too…sniff!
5:12 pm on January 18th, 2015
Missing!…Is it just me or do you guys think CHobbit has been missing since this past Thursday?….grunt!….She posted about the Iditarod Trails and then disappeared. I hope she has not been over-run by stray Kats…sniffle!
5:38 pm on January 18th, 2015
Oh oh.
The cheeseheads are winning.
Rio: It has been awhile since we’ve heard from CHobbit. I hope she is not inundated with more cats and I hope Sadie is A-ok.
5:54 pm on January 18th, 2015
The craziest thing happened here. Mom and Pop were in the living room, doing their EA Sports stuff, which just looks like a lot of wild and unexplained jumping and stretching to me. All of a sudden, something flew past us. Then we realized it was a bat!!! And it kept flying all over the living room. I was immediately on the job! Pop ran out of the room, which I figured meant he was turning things over to me. Was I up to the challenge? You bet. Then Pop returned with the fly swatter and started running around the living room. Was this part of the EA Sports thing? You tell me. He yelled at me to stop chasing that infiltrater. And then he swatted the guy. Actually, it took several swats because he kept flying. Finally, Pop was able to lift him with a carefully open paper towel, and release him to the great outdoors. I figured that was my queue to race after him, but just like that, the door was slammed shut, before I could squeeze out. I hope that little helion is around here tomorrow, so I can give him what for. Oh yes I do.
6:05 pm on January 18th, 2015
Who’s a good Zeus? Tell your pop to try a tennis racket next time, They don’t “see” it and one swing stuns them without hurting the little interlopers!
6:05 pm on January 18th, 2015
Seahawks make a comeback! Bear, hold your breath, the fat lady has not yet sung.
Mom wanted trees when they bought this house. Now after six bags of leaves not making a dent, she is wishing for prairie.
Onside kick works, don’t breathe Masquers!
6:07 pm on January 18th, 2015
Maskers!….This game is finally getting exciting!….Wow!…Onside kick recovered by Seattle. Now they have 2 minutes to score ….yeeeep!…It’s a real nail-biter now for sure!
6:10 pm on January 18th, 2015
Go Hawks!
6:10 pm on January 18th, 2015
WHAT A COMEBACK, SEAHAWKS PULL AHEAD WITH A MINUTE LEFT!!!!!!
6:11 pm on January 18th, 2015
Score!….Seattle Scores! But they have left way too much time on the clock…heh!heh!….The Packers could still win this – unless something wild and whacky happens!…..WOOOOOO!
Whacky!! …Just happened!…snort!snort!
6:11 pm on January 18th, 2015
oh, sorry, I forgot to use my indoor voice
6:12 pm on January 18th, 2015
Time!…Still time for the Packers to redeem themselves….wheeze!
6:16 pm on January 18th, 2015
I would not want to be that field goal kicker. Talk about pressure!
6:17 pm on January 18th, 2015
And my supper was due 15 minutes ago. What’s up with that, mom?
6:18 pm on January 18th, 2015
TIED!….snort!
6:24 pm on January 18th, 2015
Twos!….Twos out the ying-yang!…snort!…Score 22 ta 22 and a new game will start…heh!
6:27 pm on January 18th, 2015
OK, they can play all night. I got my dinner.
6:31 pm on January 18th, 2015
wow Wow WOW!!!
6:32 pm on January 18th, 2015
WOW!…What an amazing comeback for Seattle!…snort!snort!…Holy moly. Now we get to watch Admin and Spencer’s team battle for a spot in the Supperbowl…chuffle!
6:34 pm on January 18th, 2015
O’Howlers, the big car pileup near you was just shown on TV. That was awful. Glad you weren’t out there.
6:39 pm on January 18th, 2015
Howlers, glad your folks capture and release. Bats are actually beneficial, even tho they are a little scary.
Bee, Channel 114 is called Leased Access here, whatever that means. More research is needed.
Mild afternoon, so two walkie were done. Nice to get out of the house and yard for a change.
Barb is reading Distant Hours by K. Morton. Has anyone else read it?
6:42 pm on January 18th, 2015
aAAAAAROOOOOO!!!!!
6:53 pm on January 18th, 2015
Congratulations, BSD and Masquers!!!! AWOOOOOO! That was some egg-citing finish.
Barb, we don’t know if that bat wil be ok, but we hope so. We have no idea how he got in here, but it sure was funny. Heh!
MPM, there have been a ton of accidents around here today. We hope none of our family and friends were involved in any of them.
7:09 pm on January 18th, 2015
Bear!…They must have busted open a big bottle of champagne!…snort!
7:19 pm on January 18th, 2015
HOH–thanks for the photo. Preparation is always key where athletics are concerned.
Masquers–Love the FL photo. Here it’s reasonably warm, but overcast from time to time, so not so pretty.
…and certainly no horse excitement–Good girl, Loulou!
BSD–Your good wishes and various blurring visitors have worked their magic. Everything is so much improved (except for the one red and swollen eyelid) that I’m putting on my shades and heading for the gym for a little mild plodding on the treadmill and some stretches (which I can’t do at home bcz Pretty thinks it’s a game if I get down on the floor).
You are all wonderful!!! Thank you so much!! (And if it’s late now where you are–have a great night and keep warm.)
7:36 pm on January 18th, 2015
Howlers, Many old homes around here, especially brick ones, seem to appeal to brown bats. They take up residence in the attics and are had to get rid of. At certain times of the year it is illegal to do it if they are protected in your area.
8:02 pm on January 18th, 2015
Bats?
Be careful! They may bite if hit with a fly swatter. Occasionally, over a period of many years, we would get bats in the childhood home. Dad always said to open the door and they will find their own way out. Fine with me. Bats turn me into a screaming, arm waving deserter or a quivering mass in the corner. Once when a bat got in to bedridden mom’s room, I went for a towel, ostensibly to throw over the bat and capture it but within seconds it was covering my head because I was told as a young child that bats would get tangled in your hair! Luckily, the bat got out on its own.
8:16 pm on January 18th, 2015
Sounds like I missed a good game!
After housecleaning and picking up the dog yard I was congratulating myself for a job well done when I looked down and saw that I was wearing my good shoes rather than yard shoes. {{{sigh}}}
I have 2 potential adopters of my 2 adult cats. Trying to arrange visits this week.
Freezing rain here.
Hope Dawson and Diane are feeling tip top soon.
8:18 pm on January 18th, 2015
Shoot I used the dreaded s word and am being moderated.
Hello all and especially Rio. 🙂
8:23 pm on January 18th, 2015
If they only would have let me get near him, I would have shown that bat to the door. Oh yes I would have. Heh!
8:27 pm on January 18th, 2015
It rained all damn day here. So what did we do? Here is a hint: leek, mushroom, and sausage frittata for breakfast, butternut squash soup with the obligatory shrimp salsa for lunch, and chicken pie with a wine cream sauce for dinner. We wish they would do that every day.
The pie made this place very smoky, so now it is oven cleaning time.
8:39 pm on January 18th, 2015
Warm!…It was a very warm day compared to anything we have seen in almost a month so we spent a lot of time outside today renewing our knowledge of the neighborhood layout…snort!…At one point Beau even ran out of Pee!!! Does not happen often and when it does he is very sad…chorkel!
8:39 pm on January 18th, 2015
O’Howlers: Yummers!
8:53 pm on January 18th, 2015
My Dog I wonder what Queen B thinks of that sentence?
9:11 pm on January 18th, 2015
Hobbit Was the dreaded ‘s’ word Special-ist? We wonder if you had to see one.
Bats. I was hearing very high squeaky noises about a week ago and wondered but did not look around very much. I heard them in Dawson’s bedroom, AKA the quilt room.
Wow Seattle came back. I thought they were done!
Mr.Fireslippers was explaining it all to me but I really only wanted to know who won. Not all that other stuff. Really those football types can go on and on about it.
Lou Lou we here are very proud of you.
9:14 pm on January 18th, 2015
Downpour!…gah!…It is raining in Boston big time in January!. It is a downpour and they are still playing the game. I guess only baseball players cannot play in the rain…heh!heh!
Staff!…What are you talking about?…grunt!
9:19 pm on January 18th, 2015
This football game is just sad. I think we will all just go to bed.
Happy Day After Birthday to Grizz and Leonard.
9:26 pm on January 18th, 2015
Rio, I was just catching up with the blog and was talking about the run on sentence in the blog post by Chet the Dog, however B did talk about it earlier and she thought it was as funny as I did – but I hadn’t read that far when I posted and so you became confused.
9:30 pm on January 18th, 2015
Weather here has turned into what the Howlers were having. Everything is coated in pure ice. We are just praying people are smart enough to stay in their homes like the police are asking.
9:36 pm on January 18th, 2015
Zeus – we forgot to tell you that you are a GOOD DOG!
The Storyteller is watching a movie – can someone tell us what the Patriots\Colts score is?
9:37 pm on January 18th, 2015
Staff!…I suggest you read the whole blog before you post your confusing posts…grunt!…We can’t read your kitty-kat mind you know…sniff!
9:40 pm on January 18th, 2015
Golinka!…The score is Pats-Dominate-and-Win to Colts-Lose-Big-Time…heh!heh!…I can’t say I even feel sorry for the Colts. Because of them Beau’s team is not playing in the freezing rain tonight…snort!
9:45 pm on January 18th, 2015
Score!…I want to see the score go into the 50’s or 60’s…eh!heh!heh!snort!…((sorry Blu-Kat!))
9:46 pm on January 18th, 2015
Oh dear. Rio – what is the score?
10:08 pm on January 18th, 2015
The score is a huge number for the Patriots and seven for the Colts! I have been live streaming the game on my iPad and so have not been posting on my iPad. Yippee! Now I can sleep.
10:11 pm on January 18th, 2015
Final! …Score was 45 ta 7…heh!heh!…SOOOOOO this means the Seattle Seahawks vs the New England Patriots in the Supper Bowl this year!…snort!…Nana’s team vs Admin’s team. Hard to choose when you look at it that way…gah!
10:16 pm on January 18th, 2015
Dawson, I don’t think that is true about bats getting tangled in one’s hair.
10:27 pm on January 18th, 2015
Oh my dawg.
Why did the Colts even bother to show up?
10:32 pm on January 18th, 2015
T&G: Poor Colts…they were there in body, but not in mind…or perhaps the other way around.
11:00 pm on January 18th, 2015
Bear’s team or Admin’s team? The kennel is equally divided about who support with Savannah cheering for both so no one feels bad. Belle Starr is no help as a tie-breaker. She said she is cheering for the refs because they have the good sense dress in Belle Starr colors.
11:06 pm on January 18th, 2015
Night all. We are heading to bed.
11:09 pm on January 18th, 2015
Thieves – keep an eye on Belle Starr. Those glitzy, sparkly cheerleader outfits could lead her astray
11:18 pm on January 18th, 2015
Golinka: Have you ever tried to keep an eye on Belle Starr? There is nothing easy about it. She is a lot of work.
11:43 pm on January 18th, 2015
Good evening! Mom is very proud of herself. She finally took done the Christmas tree, paced away the ornaments, disassembled the tree and boxed it away. This is a 10′ tree and she did it by herself. Next weekend is getting alot of the containers and yard decorations in the attic.
Oh, I was supposed to post before/after pics of the mantle. Here’s the before…just the strands of lighted garland.

11:44 pm on January 18th, 2015
Here is the after….

11:47 pm on January 18th, 2015
Mom stripped the bed today for sheet washing and lots of my siblings piled on the blankets. Why she took this picture is beyond me.

12:05 am on January 19th, 2015
BooBear! Great Photo! Oh, and the mantle is really pretty too.
Oh Rio, Rio my best bud. I do it to annoy you because I know I can. After all HOH and I are almost twins. Well Dawson and HOH are twins and I am Dawson’s sister so therefore!
Hugs to you dear Pug.
12:23 am on January 19th, 2015
BooBear: Are the junior Thieves in that photo? They all look so innocent so if there are junior Thieves in the photo, it means they are doing something right.
Nighty noodles.

Thieves, Lefty is in the picture. He is one of the black cats. Pancho lives ouTside with his other brother Stumpy. When Tom-Tom shOwed up to live outside, he picked on Lefty so much that Lefty kept hiding out in the woods for weeks at a time. The last time he came back, Dad brought him in and he’s been inside since.

BooBear, I think between you the the Thieves I have realized which Dogs my new kittens were raised with. Pancho and Lefty for sure! Those guys did a great job although I think they fed them too many potato chips because they have developed a strong addiction to chips. The crinkle of a chips bag brings them running. Mr.Fireslippers is feeding their addiction although I tell him not to.

Boo Bear: just how many cats do you have inside and outside?
Staff: pets make great diet cops. I can’t have anything good inside a crinkly wrapper as I will then have 2 big brown eyes begging at me.

CHobbit.
Having 4 big yellow/green ones eyeing you does make you thing twice. And the kitchen is much cleaner. NOTHING can be left on the counter. The cherry pie was a big treat much to Mr.Fireslippers dismay. Also the floor has never been cleaner. Usually there is a little something under the kick space but lately nothing there at all. So the Thieves taught them counter surfing and floor salvage very well. They have only been in the trash once and at that time they were too small to get out so I can only hope they don’t figure out that they are now big enough to topple the garbage over.

C.Hobbit, Mom usually doesn’t tell people her grand total. But since we are among friends….13 in the house, 4 in the rescue room and 3 outside. She was proud that she was down to single digits in the house (9), then Dad rescued a mom and her 3 kittens. They are now about a year and a half old, but they are still kittens at heart. One of them figured out how to open the closet door by jumping up and pulling the handle down. What fun they had and what a mess they made. Because, you see, ALL the inside cats had to explore. He is not happy that Mom had the style of handle changed!
