Chetspeak on Sunday
“Who’s we?”
“Me and Chet, of course.”
Sherry glanced my way. “The dog?”
“Correct.”
“Did he just eat all that bacon?”
Bernie checked the paper plate Rodrigo had sent out. It lay on the patio floor at Senor Breakfast, and at that moment I happened to be licking it clean. Bernie gave me a look. I gave him a look back, kept licking at the same time. Two things at once? I was on top of my game.
“His appetite, uh, sharpens a bit when the weather cools down,” Bernie said.
How interesting! I’d have to think about that. Leave it to Bernie to come up with something so brilliant. What would I do without him?
“He’s just sort of your pal?” Sherry said. “Follows you around while you work?”
“More the other way around,” Bernie said.

Good morning. Great excerpt from TOV. “Bernie gave me a look, I gave him a look back”, and Sherry’s question at the end. Those are both my favorite parts.
No eggs this morning either. What’s up with that? Barb says she has to call about getting some farm eggs today.
Did we beat HOH to the punch this morning?
8:22 am on July 13th, 2014
Good morning and Happy Egg Day! Mom gave us the last 3 eggs in the fridge. Does she love us or what? Meantime, the Girls are up there laying more.
Last evening, we were all exhausted after a lot of work being done on this here farm. Finally, they made themselves a scrumptious dinner of Italian sausage and sweet potato fries with a yummy sauce, and zucchini with AAsiago and chopped walnuts. Mom had a glass of wine; Pop had a beer. Then the goshdarn black bugs descended in force. What’s up with that? It ruined my mom and pop’s meal. They ended up carrying it all back inside. Poop on those bugs. They are so bad this year.
Sadie, when we drove all the way north to Chemung County, NY, to adopt my puppy, it was the very best day of my life. True, I had to grow up and take on responsibility, but heck I was already caring for aging Sasha by then. My Kat puppy brought joy, and satisfaction to this mama’s world.

Just read Hobbit’s last post from last night. We would have thought Ikette would have been snatched up in a minute, but maybe there is something to that black dog curse. We think you are meant to have him in your life.
Hobbit, most of your worries are unnecessary. Sadie will benefit from having another dog around, and if the puppy stuff gets to be too much for her she will put him in his place. She will most likely remain the boss and it may keep her younger for longer.
The only problem, and it will be a short lived one, is the house breaking. He is old enough now to have more control, and since you are retired, you can spend a few intense training days with him. Once he gets the hang of it, you should have smooth sailing. Remember, keep him tethered to you, or leashed up close to a chair or something he can’t drag around. He will not want to potty right where he is sitting. Ask him several times before going out “Do you want to go outside?” Take him out to a designated spot in the yard for 5 -10 minutes and use a key word. We say potty, but use whatever word you say for Sadie. After he is successful outside,(praise him immediately as he is doing it-good boy, good potty ),give him the run of the house for a few minutes. Then do it all over again. This method really works and was recommended once by a trainer for problem cases. Also, when he goes out with Sadie, and she goes, it will be an automatic reaction for him to go, too. Don’t let him start marking his scent all over on those clean carpets!

My favorite part has something to do with dog biscuits. Apparently Chet isn’t a big fan of sharing.
8:48 am on July 13th, 2014
Howlers, We call those annoying bugs “picnic bugs”. They are a small beetle that is attracted to fermenting fruits (wine) and beer. We have read, but never actually tried it, that cotton balls with oil of eucalyptus or lavender will help, if placed on the table. We had a lot of them out in the country, but haven’t seen any yet around here.
9:03 am on July 13th, 2014
Good morning all.
Hobbit – we are with you whatever you decide. Fate does indeed play a role.
Hope everyone has a grand summer day.
9:05 am on July 13th, 2014
Good morning, everyone! What would mom do without her family and YES, B&M, you beat us to the blog this a.m. GAH bugs? WE find them tasty but mom hates ’em so we ate a fat, green grasshopper this a.m. CHobbit: 1) hope the butt is feeling better, 2) give Ikette our love. WE always like having one younger dog around to keep things surprising. Like today, just when mom thought she had Blondie house trained, guess who piddled outside of the shower? She’s washing rugs now…Oh joy, Oh rapture, Oh poopies! ER,pupies.
9:07 am on July 13th, 2014
P.S. Love the Chetspeak and someone tell mom it is EggDay before we wither away to nothing.
9:30 am on July 13th, 2014
Egg Day…Of Course…and Sunday with Chet. Yes!
and Bacon and an excerpt from TOV (laugh-out-loud funny by the way)
Does it get any better than this? You tell me.
9:40 am on July 13th, 2014
HOH, you trained Blondie to do laundry but you can’t get her to do her bidness outside? puzzling?
You shoulda been here this morning. I could hardly believe my eyes. Mom got the noisy grass chewer out and chewed down the grass in the front of the house. Before 8 a.m. I know, right? Like I said you had to be here. Now she is about to get ready for church. Is this the same person who was ready to throw in the towel last night? Rard to say, but I don’t see any towels.
Oh, news flash!!! After a lifetime of no eggs, second egg Sunday in a row. {faint}
later taters
ps If anyone sees my sweetie Mr. Redbone Hound please tell him that I am pining something fierce.
9:42 am on July 13th, 2014
Good morning Chet and all.
9:46 am on July 13th, 2014
We here love the way Bernie described Chet. “More the other way around.”
9:50 am on July 13th, 2014
OFA keeps getting more and more into Chet and it just gets BETTER!
9:52 am on July 13th, 2014
Barb, our so-called black bugs have a brown stripe, and they have bothered us during dinnertime for years, unless we eat much earlier than we are accustomed. They land on us and on ourfood. They are much worse this year for some reason, and when we were at our friends’ place last Sunday, on their porch with a roof, they were there too. And those friends said this year is the first time they have had them.
Do you think that sounds like your “picnic bugs”?
9:52 am on July 13th, 2014
Macy-Min-Pin! We haven’t heard from you in a Coon’s Age.
Hope Mr. Redbone gets your message.
9:55 am on July 13th, 2014
Although captive raccoons have been known to live over 20 years, their average life expectancy in the wild is only 1.8 to 3.1 years.
9:57 am on July 13th, 2014
Macy, those ‘coons have a much shorter lifespan here on Howling Arabians Farm. Heh Heh!
Barb, your picnic bugs look like they are much bigger than our black bugs.
9:58 am on July 13th, 2014
{gasp!}. Mom left her apostrophe on our name! WWBSS !
10:00 am on July 13th, 2014
A Morning Swim will get rid of those bugs.
10:35 am on July 13th, 2014
(Darah here) I’m always ready for a swim, especially if the sun is out! Water, it’s what for fun 🙂
10:37 am on July 13th, 2014
We have been bothered by two types. One is bigger with yellow spots on it, and more the size of an oval shaped lady bug. The other is much smaller and solid, shinny black. They land in your drinks and drowned. Mid summer seems to be when they are out more. We had many more of them when we were surrounded by corn and bean fields.
10:56 am on July 13th, 2014
Happy Chetspeak Day Everyone!!
C.Hobbit, We support you with whatever you decide. Mom knows it isn’t easy.
We don’t have picnic bugs here.
11:00 am on July 13th, 2014
No little pests here either.
Lucky dog, Siber. Lucky kat, me.
11:02 am on July 13th, 2014
Gasp, B! Did I misuse the comma in my last post?
11:03 am on July 13th, 2014
Howlers: I wouldn’t have noticed it if you hadn’t mentioned it.
11:04 am on July 13th, 2014
Masquers: No.
11:09 am on July 13th, 2014
Rackety-coon…that is one of the reasons I (Pookey) have recurring outbreaks of anaerobic bacteria 🙁 BUT, I conquered that ‘coon and he crossed the bridge to be with Davy Crockett’s coonskin cap.
12:00 pm on July 13th, 2014
Happy Chetspeak on Sunday and egg day.
SiberH: What bugs do you have? Mosquitoes for sure.
Despite a 90 degree day yesterday, the garden needs no water today, still wet from the torrential rains 2 days ago. Today 97 degrees is forecast. All curtains and windows are closed against the heat.
12:16 pm on July 13th, 2014
Dawson, We must not have that many bugs…grasshoppers, crickets, moths, flies, ants…none that bother us if we want to eat outdoors in the day or nighttime.
Where I live, there aren’t that many mosquitoes. There are more down in the valley (like Chet’s valley). The Rio Grande runs through our valley.
Mom can go a whole season and not be bit by a mosquito and she is outdoors at dawn and dusk.
I still have to take heartworm preventative but there are many dogs where I live that are not on heartworm meds. Mom and the vets think they should be.
12:20 pm on July 13th, 2014
Good Sunday morning, all! Love Chetspeak and can’t wait for the new book!
12:34 pm on July 13th, 2014
We have bugs here. Mostly little tiny flies and mosquitoes. Right now I have been thinking about going out to check if there are any beans in the garden yet. But I will have to put on bug spray to do it and I am not looking forward to putting on bug spray. It’s a dilemma!
12:35 pm on July 13th, 2014
Oh, And I am raising sticky buns, AKA pecan rolls. Yeep!
12:45 pm on July 13th, 2014
Ms. Wose.
Responding to your question from yesterday, it is part of my doggy duties to wake up my mom and dad by climbing up the side of the bed and letting them know it is time to get up. However, during the last few days in particular, it has been very hot in their bedroom (where I normally sleep as well), so I have found it necessary to sleep downstairs on top of the air conditioning vent in our great room to keep cool, so I have been somewhat remiss in my wakeup duties as a result thereof.

Did Ah hear someone mention bacon? Ain’t nuthin like long strips of crunchy bacon with a nice side a shine. Unlessen it’s limp bacon. Or a big ole steak. hmmm – now there’s a deelema.
Sorry for being missin from you folks. Ah decided to go vistin mah cousin in Georgia. Got in the pickup, and programmed the GPS thingamabob fer Georgia…
Did y’all know there is a Georgia over there in Russia? Guessen Ah might need be a tad more specific.
Ah had me a heck of a time over there. Them folks have got their own brand a shine. They call it vodka – Ah call it “Where the heck am Ah, and what day is it?”
Miz Macy, Ah shur hope you can forgive this ole hound fer not getting in touch. Ah am jest a irresponsible, wandering type of dawg, but trust me Sugarpie, there ain’t no one in mah heart but you.

Teddy Ruff Rider, I would very much enjoy having you wake me up. Do you wake up at the same time every day?
1:12 pm on July 13th, 2014
Thank you Barb for the house-training tips. Teddy, since you are our newest puppy on the blog, do you have any tips?
Good morning all. I will be able to go to the adoption clinic around noon. The clinic opens at 10 am but with it being Sunday, I am thinking noon would be ok.
1:20 pm on July 13th, 2014

C.Hobbit! Yeep! Go At 10 AM!

1:43 pm on July 13th, 2014
I agree with BSD, C.Hobbitt! Go at 10!!!
1:48 pm on July 13th, 2014
Good luck to Hobbit and Ikette. We hope he is coming home with her today.
Just had our very first tomato of the season today. We have never had one this early, in fact, usually not till after Aug. 1st. This was from a Black Krim plant that we got from our organic grower, Gary G. The tomato was delish! We have a couple more ripe from the same plant, then probably no more for a week or two.
Staff, We have had 2 pickings of your Roma beans. They are really, really good! The pole beans are flowering so it won’t be long before they are ready too. We bought some zucks at the Farmer’s Market yesterday, so we are eating so healthy we cant stand it!
1:59 pm on July 13th, 2014
Hobbit, Good luck! I don’t know why anyone would not want Ikette , but he is a real sweetie.

What time is it in Alaska? Are they 3 hours behind Central time?

Barb&Magpie: They are 1 hour behind us, So Yes, that would make it 3 Hours for youse.
3:44 pm on July 13th, 2014
Rose: Great research! Love the back and forth conversation.
4:12 pm on July 13th, 2014
BDS, gotcha 🙂
4:18 pm on July 13th, 2014
That means that Hobbit is probably at the adoption spot right now.
Mr. Redbone, It was so nice hearing from you. Sounds like you had some amazing adventures along the way.
Staff, How do you make your Romas? We just broke them in half, cooked in a little water with a small onion, then buttered them when they were done. They were quite good that way.
4:43 pm on July 13th, 2014
Oh, Sugardoodle, so glad to hear that you are ok. Watch out for that Ruskie shine now, k?
4:58 pm on July 13th, 2014
So Ikette hadn’t been adopted but they won’t let me adopt him until the end of the clinic because “someone promised to come and meet him today.” Never mind that their advertising specifically said that they wouldn’t hold any dogs for people. If that person doesn’t show up, I will be called.
I was crushed. It seems like given the fact that I fostered him and that he hadn’t been adopted in 3 clinics, that I could be given special consideration. Obviously I want him. Even disregarding that I fostered him, it seems like they should go with someone with a leash in one hand and a wallet in the other.
So….we all need to wait with paws crossed. One way or another he will be in his furever home today. I did get to observe him for a few moments without him seeing me. He was in a kennel chewing on a rawhide bone, wagging his tail, looking as cute and adorable as ever.
I will keep youse posted.
5:09 pm on July 13th, 2014
Sometimes I think some of these adoption people are a little out there. Seems to me that having him go home with you would make a lot more sense then a maybe person who may or may not show up. Take a deep breath and wait. I just hope he doesn’t have to wait another week before they will let you pick him up.
When I was going to foster Lucy they made me wait till I got back from the trip out east. They didn’t trust my dog sitter to be capable of taking care of Lucy for 5 days, even tho I trust her with Maggie. Even tho she fosters litters for another rescue group, is a 4-H instructor for dog obedience, and a certification person for Canine Good Citizen tests. Do you think she could take care of one little old well behaved dog?
5:12 pm on July 13th, 2014
C.Hobbit, it seems like somebody there should be grabbed by the pants leg. Good for you for being so steadfast.
Rio, are you watching the Rockies-Twinkies game?
5:17 pm on July 13th, 2014
Hobbit – time to call out your inner Barracuda! If those other people do show up, tell them to back off; that puppy is YOURS (and Sadie’s)
5:24 pm on July 13th, 2014
That is how Maggie came to the Peck of Parrots. Someone put $$ on her then never visited. Bird farm owner told mom to take her since she was there every day. As she pulled out of the lot with Maggie pie, the other people showed up (after a month) and the bird lady told then Maggie’s family took her and gave them their $$ back.
5:27 pm on July 13th, 2014
Hobbit, Strong Wosengrizz pawsitive thoughts coming at you at Ikette. His furever home is with you!

Don’t cry for me, Argentina.
Does the adoption place close at 5:00?
6:02 pm on July 13th, 2014
B&M: Lol.
6:09 pm on July 13th, 2014
Mom has an opinion about most animal rescue groups that is NOT good. Here is another case. Why on earth would they want to hold out for a person who may or may not come, who may or may not want Ike if they get there, and who may or may not be good Ike family, when Hobbit has already proven her care of Ike. Grrr
We think a lot of rescues are run by domineering, collectors who would rather keep a pup under their control than find him a good home. Fortunately, Zeus’ rescue is not one of those. The rest of us came from shelters, not rescues.

Congratulations to Germany!!

6:17 pm on July 13th, 2014
Howlers: Being a kat who has always had a loving home, I am somewhat uninformed in these matters. What is the difference between a shelter and a rescue?
6:17 pm on July 13th, 2014
Bear! we are all ROFL! What a hoot! Beans beans, the musical fruit. The more you eat, the more you toot. Heh Heh!
6:18 pm on July 13th, 2014
SiberH!…The only time I held my breath was when the USA team took the field…grunt!…Please do not embarrass us! Was all I could think each time…heh!heh!
6:19 pm on July 13th, 2014
We are waiting with paws crossed for word on Ike. Mom is agreeing with the general opinion on rescue groups.
6:20 pm on July 13th, 2014
Staffie!…Do not watch Bear’s video – far too violent for youse…snort!
6:22 pm on July 13th, 2014
Twins!…Are leading by one….sniff!…This is a close One so far…gurgle!
6:23 pm on July 13th, 2014
Masquers, a shelter is how we describe humane societies and ASPCAs and the like, where stray or unwanted animals are dropped off, and where adopters are generally gratefully granted adoption rights.
Rescues are more often breed-specific, though not always, and those in charge conduct lengthy interviews, testimonials, references, and the like. While that is a good thing, they also have their silly rules that do not/should not apply in every situation. For example, many Sibe rescues will not allow anyone with Invisible Fence, or horses, or cats to adopt. We do understand why they frown on some of those situations, but when the applicant has had Sibes for 30 years, like our ‘rents, well…someone should certainly grab someone by the pant leg.
6:25 pm on July 13th, 2014
B & M you beat me to it on the not crying for Argentina!
Ike, good luck on your furever home little fellow..

My beach is a thing of beauty.

6:38 pm on July 13th, 2014
Beau!…I guess he is a Rescue Pug…snort!…His life was pretty miserable for 5 years and now he is here living the Life of Riley…grunt!
6:40 pm on July 13th, 2014
Zeus, little friend, doesn’t the definition of “beach” usually include water? Not that it is not truly lovely and all. Has TC seen it?
6:41 pm on July 13th, 2014
Beach!….I swear those Sibes are smiling and laughing out loud digging in the sand…snort!…I bet SiberH would find this Sibes-Play compared to his excavation projects…heh!heh!
6:44 pm on July 13th, 2014
Gah, It isn’t looking good for the Rockies.
6:48 pm on July 13th, 2014
Awwww Beau – you did indeed win the Puppy Lottery.
(so did we!)
6:48 pm on July 13th, 2014
I could show the Howlers miles and miles of sand to play in.
They do look like they are having a really good time.
I think of Beau as a rescue pug. You don’t have to come from a rescue group to be a rescue. Some of mom’s dogs were dumped on her by very irresponsible people.
6:54 pm on July 13th, 2014
Awwww, that is a sweet picture of Beau. I am very glad he found his forever home.
BTW- would make a nice calendar shot.
6:54 pm on July 13th, 2014
Rio! That is a Most Excellent Photo of Beau and quite Calendar Worthy. Now…if Your Friend could only get a photo of a Pug of Another Color. Heh.
6:55 pm on July 13th, 2014
To clarify: we here are all rescues, as were Sasha and Dima. But only Zeus came from “a Rescue”. The rest of us came from shelters, except for Meash, who was dropped off.
6:55 pm on July 13th, 2014
Macy, oh yes we have water to go with our beach

6:55 pm on July 13th, 2014
Howlers: That is truly a beach fit for a Sibe. Look at those smile wide smiles!
6:59 pm on July 13th, 2014
Beau, That is a fantastic picture. Doesn’t it feel really good to rescue a 2-legged? We are so glad we did.
7:00 pm on July 13th, 2014
Zoos, alrighty then. Carry on.
7:02 pm on July 13th, 2014
Am waiting anxiously to hear of Ikette’s fate….
7:04 pm on July 13th, 2014
Rose!….Believe it or Not!…snort!…Someone here has started looking for photos for the calendar…sniff!…She will be sending you some to choose from throughout this week – is that okay? Or do you need them sooner?…grunt!
7:22 pm on July 13th, 2014
Game!…Well, I sure hope Mr.FireSlippers is happy…grunt!…The Twins are 8 runs ahead now in the 9th inning…sneeze!…Although, my friend has seen the Rockies hit 9 runs in the 9th inning before – and she was at the game when they did it…heh!heh!..Fat chance of that happening again…wheeze!
7:26 pm on July 13th, 2014
Meash: Tell us the tail of your “drop-off” at the Oley Howlers.
7:28 pm on July 13th, 2014

Where is that salad I made earlier?
7:34 pm on July 13th, 2014
We are on Page 3! That almost never happens while we are awake. Dinner is now cooking. Stalls must still be mucked. And big storms are on the way.
7:35 pm on July 13th, 2014
Supper!…My friend is gearing up to make Breakfast for Supper tonight…heh!heh!…Breakfast being her specialty among others. Sausage and Pancakes coming up!…Woooooo!
7:38 pm on July 13th, 2014
We here love breakfast for supper!
Masquers, I don’t remember much of that. Mom says I was happy and treated well. I have a distant memory of a baby girl I adored, probably why I love kids and am a good mama. But my family is here on this farm, and that is all I need.
7:42 pm on July 13th, 2014
ML, how is your mama doing today?
7:51 pm on July 13th, 2014
Barb and Maggie, My beans are full of blossoms but the beans are only about an inch long. Maybe tomorrow? I use my Roma’s any old way I can. Sliced fresh in salad or pasta, tomato/mayo sandwich, sliced onto pizza. I have heard roasted is good but have never done that. I like to make cream of soup also which I start like your recipe and then puree. Tomatoes, butter, salt and then puree and cream. Yummers.
Oh and sometimes, when there are lots, I make some stewed for freezing.
Rio…too late, darn it. I watched it and you are right. It was too violent for me…sniff
Ah, sorry about the game. The Twinkies must have magical bats today.

RIO! Yes, your friend has plenty of time to search for the perfect picture of you, you, you, and Beau, Beau, Beau. Pictures due July 30th.

I have a very important job right now. Mom is recovering from successful surgery and is not supposed to do much. I am only 13 pounds, but I have a special super power. I can sit on her lap and will myself to weigh 400pounds. She can’t move and must rest! Anyway, I let her up once and she found a big, but not heavy, box on the porch. Good news. The iris picture arrived, safe and sound!

I am wondering how the bunny rabbit AJ brought home is doing…

Scout, whew!! Mom was hoping the package would arrive safely. Did your Mom like the picture?
C.Hobbit, any Ike news?
8:47 pm on July 13th, 2014
Waiting to hear from Hobbit……
Staff, Actually I was asking about the Roma beans.
8:49 pm on July 13th, 2014
Staff: We here thought B&M were talking about tomatoes also.
8:50 pm on July 13th, 2014
…but were wondering about the butter.
8:51 pm on July 13th, 2014
Hey Scout – good to hear your mom is doing well. Tell her there is another package waiting to be hand delivered. Just say the word.
8:51 pm on July 13th, 2014
you eat butter on tomatoes?(!)
8:53 pm on July 13th, 2014
Well, I never got a phone call about Ikette and the adoption clinic ended 50 minutes ago. I kept waiting thinking I would still get a call but evidently not. I can’t help but be sad but the most important thing is that Ike is in his new home somewhere. I am glad that I got to see him one more time and that my last glance was of a happy little dog chewing on a rawhide bone. Let’s all wish him the best …
8:58 pm on July 13th, 2014
C.Hobbit, I bet you get a call tomorrow. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Ike has found a perfect home, but I think you will hear from the shelter this week.
9:01 pm on July 13th, 2014
Speaking of packages…we haven’t gotten any word on the Auction…Winning Bids, etc.
Were we reading every other word again?
9:03 pm on July 13th, 2014
BooBear: We agree…Bet C.Hobbit gets a call this week.
9:07 pm on July 13th, 2014
BSD: as Rebecca receives the monies, she notifies the donors to send out their items. So far I’ve only heard about one of my items; people must be sending checks by ‘snail mail.’ I also don’t think Rebecca stops at the Post Office everyday for mail–I could be wrong but when I had a P.O. Box, I usually just checked the mail once a week.
BooBear: yes, I have a feeling I will hear about Ike sometime next week but that is probably just wishful thinking on my part.
9:11 pm on July 13th, 2014
WE here believe that all 4 leggers deserve the best 🙂 WE will even hope feathers and sushi get the best (except for the stupid sushi that jumped into Darah’s mouth 2 weeks ago).
9:13 pm on July 13th, 2014
C.Hobbit, Mom agrees with you about the wishful thinking. I am sorry they didn’t call and I am unhappy with them….not that it does any good.
9:13 pm on July 13th, 2014
DDD and g-son, Rock, should be here tomorrow night 🙂 I’m twirling (Lucy) because he loves to take me, me, me to dog park.

SiberH, we must be twins since we posted at the same time 🙂
9:20 pm on July 13th, 2014
CHobbit, the rescue clinic, while well-meaning, doesn’t seem to be very efficient. It’s possible that Ike was not adopted at all and they just didn’t get around to calling you.
9:21 pm on July 13th, 2014
Basket!….Beau had to be pried loose of the Basket O’ Fun, and it finally got mailed off yesterday…snort!…Joe Erickson should receive it sometime this coming week. You will be notified where to send your donations as Rebecca gets the money from the winning bidders…heh!…I figure we will be sending out more stuff next Saturday…wheeze!
9:23 pm on July 13th, 2014
CHobbit!…You dodged a live bullet today, be thankful!…chuffle!
9:24 pm on July 13th, 2014
Joe!…Just in case you are reading this, Beau had to lick and sneeze on each and every toy before it got packaged up…heh!heh!cough!spit!

I am mad at Ike’s adoption place too. They are annoying me no end. They should have called our hobbit either way. Hobbit, get thee there tomorrow first thing, and kick their door in.
The ‘rents had T-bones on the grill, and fresh-picked green beans with sautéed ‘shrooms and onions, with butter (thanks Barb, for that idea). It was very good.
HGTV, storm warning, and beddy bye in our forecast.
9:30 pm on July 13th, 2014
Mollypop’s Mom, I very well think you may be correct.
9:32 pm on July 13th, 2014
Doesn’t C.Hobbit have to wait until next Saturday to learn what happened to our little Ike?
9:33 pm on July 13th, 2014
Sorry for the confusion. I had mentioned earlier that I had picked some of Staff’s Roma beans (she sent me the seeds). So when I asked how she fixed her Romas I was still thinking beans. Not thinking about Romas tomatoes, which I actually am not even growing. I have a San Marzano which is an Italian paste type, but no Roma tomatoes.
Sorry to hear about Ikette, but I am agreeing with the others. I think you will hear from them in the next day or two. It is thoughtless not to have called you and let you know if he was adopted. I am not thinking too highly of these people.
9:37 pm on July 13th, 2014
When I read Staff’s comments, I though, oh she puts green beans on a tomato sandwich and on pizza, how unusual.

BSD, That sounds really interesting but we here are pooped out. The tv is off and we are heading for our last trip outside before bed.
Night all.
Hasta la Pasta with Roma Beans.

Re: mom
She seems to be doing fine. I took her a fine fried lunch of chicken livers, okra, pickles and mashed taters (not fried). I need to call about getting the catheter out in the morning. She is ready/not ready to get it out, as she has not been having to run to the bathroom all the time with it in, but it is somewhat annoying.
I wish I could go somewhere and be waited on hand and foot for a couple of days. I have just about had it.10:22 pm on July 13th, 2014
Roma beans with butter.

Ike was listed among the 28 dogs adopted this weekend. Several more dogs are on “trials” and others have scheduled “meet ups” tomorrow. So it was a very successful weekend for a lot of homeless dogs (one of which has been a foster for a long time).

Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so
I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say,
I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog
blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have
any points for newbie blog writers? I’d definitely
appreciate it.
