    Happy Egg Day, anyways.
Flight? Are they finally coming home where they belong?

    B. Stover–Good morning and a good day to you.

Dima–Enjoy your eggs and have a wonderful day.

Everyone–NO ONE was indiscreet in the house overnight!! Just thought I’d share the joy.

Any further news of the Storyteller family, Melanie, Wose, and others with health challenges?

Good morning all and Happy Sunday. Spence hasn’t missed a Chetspeak Sunday for a long time, so we will excuse him this once.

Diane, by indiscreet, do you mean doing their outside duties inside?

We haven’t heard from HOH for a bit.

Bee, you are right, wonder if something is wrong. She usually posts a lot! She wasn’t around at all yesterday, so maybe we should email her.

Good Grief! No Hounds Yesterday and Now No Chetspeak!
Okay, okay we know Admin has to catch a plane, but where is Sharon?
And we are missing the Storyteller and Golinka something fierce. Hope to hear some Good News today.

  9. Barb & Maggie
    10:29 am on January 26th, 2014

We just sent off a SDD to HOH to check on them.

You know, when Barb had her total knee replacement, the hospital only kept her 3 days before kicking her over to the rehab place. Golinka and The Storyteller must really be sick to be in there that long. Leonard will be in for about a week and Amalia about 5 days, correct?

I hope everyone on this here blog gets healthy soon. There has been way too much sickness and sadness.
What kind of flu does Golinka and The Storyteller have? Would this year’s flu shot prevent it? If not, we are all moving somewhere…quick.

B&M: Numbers more than two have never been a friend of mine, but I believe your calculations are correct.

My Lady is waiting for the Giant to return home with the team. The kennel is an ice skating rink so she hopes they found better trails up north.

Not positive, but we think they get flu shots.

Safe travels to AJ and the team as they return home.

Hope Admin had a wonderful time visiting the land of Chet’s latest adventure.
DianeC: Sounds like the terrific trio are getting along very well. I’m sure your excellent mom skills have much to do with it.
B&M: We didn’t think it had been that long a stay for Amalia. This is becoming very worrisome to say the least.
Tenz: Please tell your lady to be careful out there!
HOH: Waiting for youse to name the day.

This should be an interesting scenario for Barb. My breed is one of the smartest (just sayin). They don’t really rate E.S. because they only rate AKC breeds, not UKC. That being said, Border Collies and Aussies are up at the top, and I am essentially the same, just tweeked slightly to have an off switch. Now Barb just read an article on the “Five Least Smart (read Dumbest)Dogs”. Oh, oh, guess who was listed on there!!! You got it – the Basset. Good thing they are cute and lovable.

Masquers, We are thinking that Leonard went in early last week, perhaps Tuesday, or Monday night. Amalia went in the end of the week, and according to Melanie they were probably going to stay till Tuesday. So it hasn’t really been a week yet, but we were counting to Tuesday.

  16. Masquers

B&M: However long it takes to ensure they are well enough to return home. It does make us feel better to hear that Melanie mentioned Tuesday.
Foggy and wet here. It will be a good day to spend indoors by the fireplace.

    Greetings!

    Happy Egg Day!

I have been worrit about the Royals who are ill, and the ones who remain at home. Hope everyone is safe.

Tenzing, I can picture all youse out there with colorful scarves on and four skates doing figure 8’s and pirouettes.

Belle Starr, I am sure that little donkey would beautiful with sparkles. So would that little panda bear.

Inquiring minds want to know….are there names for Bonnie’s new litter?

Sharon, where are you? Hope you and the HOH’s are okay.

I like the idea of a playlist for the Giant. In fact, Staff gave me a great idea from her post last night…..

  19. Diane C.
    11:21 am on January 26th, 2014

B and M–Yes, indiscreet refers especially to doing one’s banking (making deposits) in the house.

Masquers, thank you for your kind words–things are going fairly well and I’m content (or will be once some GOOD health news is posted).

Belle Starr–I think a baby donkey would love sparkles. If it’s a lady baby donkey, perhaps a tiara?

  20. Melanie
    11:23 am on January 26th, 2014

    Checking in and missing ChetSpeak.

The Royals’ Gramps usually spends time at the hospital during the day. Unless we hear from T&G, or the Herbs, I will be calling the house after 7pm.

I have made it downstairs! Resting again, but feeling a bit more up.

The last I heard from HOH was their Mum begiining to sneeze. You can’t catch a virus through the inner tubes, can you?

Just finished the first episode of Sherlock Season 3. Excellent.
    Nap time again.

  21. Barb & Maggie

Diane: Tee-ar-uh! I looked up tiara on the internet and realized I must have one of those or I’m going to be in a very bad mood. I overheard my Two-legged and my Four-legged mamas. Something was said about, “We couldn’t keep tiaras a secret forever,” “It was a matter of time,” and “created a monster.” Monster! Yeep! I am going to hide from the monster!

  23. Wose

We just tried Sharon’s phone and got voicemail. Now we are worrit too.

  25. Diane C.
    11:52 am on January 26th, 2014

Belle Starr–Tiaras repel monsters! Nothing to worry about once you have yours. (And I think you’d also need a couple of extra ones for backup…)

Melanie–It’s so nice to hear from you–we have Sherlock reruns on Sundays where I live. Enjoy your nap.

Who makes the “intelligent” and “dumb” breed lists? I’ll go along with the Border Collie thing, but I have serious doubts otherwise (and where are the Lhasa Apsos?)

    HOH Mom–Gesundheit and feel better.

Everyone feel better (even if you’re feeling pretty good already.)

  26. Macy the min-pin
    11:54 am on January 26th, 2014

I called Sharon. Guess who also has the flu. She was just about to crawl back in bed. Sheesh.

  27. Macy the min-pin
    11:57 am on January 26th, 2014

Diane, before my time, mom had two Lhasas whose parents had papers, but those two did not look much like Lhasas and they each weighed over 25 lbs. Once a lady looked at them and said, “Lhasas don’t get that big”.

  28. Dima
    11:57 am on January 26th, 2014

Oh no! What is with this terrible flu?!!!
If cold kills flu germs, we have nothing to worry about on this FRIGID (there, I said it!) farm.

  29. Barb & Maggie
    12:05 pm on January 26th, 2014

Diane, I think they create the lists based on how well the dog responds to human commands. Just because the Basset doesn’t listen might just mean he is more interested in his own agenda.

Sorry to hear that Sharon is sick, but at least we now know what is going on. That flu is nasty stuff.

Barb is heading out before things get worse around here. Most of the snow is over, but temps will be dropping like a rock – a big rock. They are recommending people stay home tomorrow and Tuesday, if they don’t have to go out. Schools are being closed again due to the weather. We will have about 48 hours of well below 0, with about -40 wind chill before temps start to moderate again by Wednesday.

Min-Pin: Thanks for the Update on Sharon & Hounds. Not good she has the Flu too. We hope Daddy Dawg is waiting on her hand ‘n paw.

BTW: Tupper&Gilly & HerbKats, know youse can’t get on the ‘puter with the Royal Mum away, but take good care of Gramp until she and the Storyteller return home.

Dima: Thank Dog you are feeling more like your old self.

    Barb&Magpie: Super Scary Weather!

Macy–Conan also has papers and looks like half Lhasa and half camel–very long legs. I suspect irresponsible breeding has been going on for a while, which may be a big part of it. Still: pretty smart even if funny-looking and attention should be paid.

There seems to be some very resistant flu out this year. I had my shot and still had a strangely-lingering “something” for the past few weeks. It does seem to go away eventually; rest up everyone, take fluids and be kind to yourselves.

The StoryTeller is about to be Sprung!
    He sounds good.

On the other paw . .

Golinka is very contagious. Will be in the hospital for at least a week.
The StoryTeller says she needs a new nurse.
    Smoochers? Can you handle that?

Going upstairs. Gotten tired of being upright.

Thanks, you guys, for the updates on our flu victims. I am glad the Storyteller is getting out but am worried about Golinka and Sharon.

Diane, That strange something is also going around here. Mom had it but it seems to be gone now. She never was very sick just like the other people she knows that had it.

Barb, You know my neighbors that had the one chicken next door to me (up against my wooden fence). They got rid of it because it was “too messy”. They gave it to people that have chickens. (plural chickens)

  36. BearSpiritDog

Sorry I’ve been a bit out of circulation…just busy is all. Sorry for being absent. Also sorry to hear about the storyteller and Tupper’s mama…I leave for a couple weeks and people start getting put in hospitals and things. We’ve seen more of the insides of hospitals than we want to, fortunately not for me, unfortunately for Melanie and Alena, though more Melanie of late. So, anyway, time to play catch up now, because I haven’t read any of today’s posts from y’all.

  38. Barb & Maggie
    1:55 pm on January 26th, 2014

Melanie, do you mean a week all together, or another week from now? And why does Golinka need a new nurse? Does she need a new two legged one, or do you mean The Smoochers?

Hope no one else gets this dreaded stuff!

From what The StoryTeller told me, a week all together.

He does not like Golinka’s two footed nurse. He has complained about her.

We are starting to feel sorry for that poor nurse, now that Luna is on the scene. Luna has a firm and loving paw—we know this from experience—but there is no allowance made for those who treat her real and adopteds poorly. It is kind of how AJ is with the Pixie and us. That nurse has no idea what is coming her way.

Are there any smoochers with HOH? We need to recruit more as the S-team is pushed very thin.

Thinking pawsitively, at least she will have gotten this flu out of the way and has time to be 100% for her trip to Alaska.

Another warm and sunny day. I have the doors and windows open to air out the house. With south facing windows I get full sunshine.

Diane: I’ve heard jokes made about the Giant and his overprotectiveness when it comes to my mama and us dogs. I understand his heart in this. I can put up with the antics, yes antics of the Outlaws, the spoiled nature of a certain sparkly someome, and even the odors of a my favorite evil pug, but I won’t stand for the mistreatment of one of my own. I have my own sons and daughters, but I have my adopteds which includes the Plunderers.

    No Chetspeak. 🙁
Spence: You should’ve gone fishing for one more day. 🙂
DianeC: I’m here. Will be a lurker for this week as I have a medical appointment at the next town over and will be gone from early Tuesday morning until late Friday night. Nothing serious except it is seriously annoying. That is the price I pay for living in a small town paradise – sometimes I have to go to big town for routine things.

    Flu!
Rest, fluids, rest, fluids, rest, fluids. I am glad that the Storyteller is in hospital because of only one lung. Also that Golinka is in hospital to stay away from Gramps. Gramps can survive on canned food and pizza deliveries for a week while he keeps busy keeping Tupper&Gilly and Basil&Sage and Callie in food, water and tummies. He can do it! HOH: Stay in bed!

Melanie&Truman: Hope your weekend has been uneventful – unless it is a happy, joyful, restful event! Rest up for the next round.

Dima: You are the man! dog! Top dog!

Hope all the rest of youse that are ill will feel better real soon and those that are going to Alaska get all the bugs out of the way so it’s all systems go!

Hockey: The man in this house heard there was going to be an outside hockey game in L.A. of all places! How can this be? I have to google it.
