Chetspeak on Sunday
We spent the night at Suzie’s place. A nice crib, but I never sleep my best at Suzie’s. One thing about apartments: you’re not alone. There were people up above, a woman and a man. The man said, “What did you do with my pills?” and the woman said, “I didn’t touch them.” Clear as a bell – although I’ve seen humans miss ringing bells, too – but Bernie and Suzie didn’t seem to hear. And on the other side of Suzie’s wall there was a cat. He knew I knew, by the way, and also knew I knew he knew I knew, which is the maddening way it goes with cats, so no surprise that I had a restless night.

Good morning Chet and all.

Tired today. Have fun!

Bood morning, everyone! And we knew he knew….heh, heh, heh. Chetspeak, Egg Day, HRH B and Melanie all at one time. Does life get any better?
With all the talk of foods recently, have a scrumptious Sunday.
9:30 am on January 12th, 2014
Bood????? Try GOOD.
9:32 am on January 12th, 2014
Happy Egg Day! We love Chetspeak.

Hey Everyone–thanks to all of you inquiring about the newly blended family (still blending).
Enjoy your eggs, sleep, and rest. I’m still catching up…

Mornin’ Diane! You are a good person for the “adoption”…but who is adopting whom? (Whoa, B, I can remember some grammar)
10:15 am on January 12th, 2014
Well done HOH.
10:18 am on January 12th, 2014
Greetings!
I have been under the Rose quilt these past few days. I went to sleep on Thursday, and woke up with a bad sore throat. 🙁
Love ya, Sharon.
Wooooooohooooo. The pixie is homage! and will spend the day with The Giant!
BTW: Not only does The Giant have swagger, he invented it!
I wore earrings in Alaska. They were studs. No freezing. I don’t like hanging earrings ever since my mom told a story about my big brother and her earrings.
Fern, I hope your Funky Chicken PT gets you to tip-top in no time.
Congratulations to all the new baby Plundererd who have born, or waiting to be born.
Ooo,ooo, I wonder if we will see more pictures of Bonnie’s new pups. Waiting for the Pixie to announce their names. So exciting!
10:44 am on January 12th, 2014
Wose, stiww a wittle ewrly in the day to heaw frowm AK. We would wov to heaw frowm the pups. (Boy was that hard to say!)
10:46 am on January 12th, 2014
Yep, Chet, WE KNEW you knew he knew you knew he knew (hey is “knew” even a WORD? it is sounding mighty strange after all that repetition).
Macy: Thank Dog your mom finally got her ticket! Yark.
Good, Good Morning Everyone. Now this guy is off to begin a Scrumptious Sunday (thanks Sharon).
11:06 am on January 12th, 2014
Sharon, LOL!
Hey there, Bear!
11:09 am on January 12th, 2014
I am so excited for all youse going to the great state of Alaska. It will be an unforgettable experience.
Passport pages filled, Snowhhook doggies, the Giant and the Pixie…Wooooohooooo! I WANT pictures from everyone!!!!!!
11:16 am on January 12th, 2014
BSD: KNEW is past tense of know. Ya know…we will work with most definitions of this except the biblical definition. Backing off now (not know).
11:19 am on January 12th, 2014
Passport…yikes I have to get my photo in there. sniff. I wonder which one I should use. Abbie, Alice or me. (Alice says Alice “of course”.)
Macy I hope you can get your second ticket close to your first. It sounds horribly frustrating.
Wose. Remember it was warm last year in AK. Your earrings would have felt colder had it been below zero. ahhh, ummmm Thursday eh? That is the day my cold left. Could it be?
All you southerners who are getting amazed remarks at your travel to AK in February, it is the same way here. In fact in North Dakota when I say we are going to Minnesota for the winter they think we are crazy too. AK is just one more bit of proof. Everyone knows you go to AZ in the winter, not AK.
11:20 am on January 12th, 2014
We love that line about the cat too. Remember reading it several times to get it straight. We just read that dogs can hear clearly about 4 times farther away than humans, so Chet definitely could hear the two people above.
Quiet Sunday here, not sure what to do today. Aren’t the Golden Globes on tonight?
11:41 am on January 12th, 2014
Mom knows how well we can hear. When we are in the yard honking, she just speaks, we hear her and come in. Daddy Dawg says he didn’t hear anything but we do!
11:42 am on January 12th, 2014
Hey everyone. We had our eggs in the form of pancake batter. Mama really dislikes most types of eggs for breakfast. Egg salad, deviled eggs – all fine. But fried? For breakfast? Eeewww.
Warm(ish) and sunny(ish) here. Heck – we’ll take it. It’s NOT snow.
Back to the sparkly things. See ya
11:51 am on January 12th, 2014
Tupper&Gilly: Pancakes! That’s the ticket!
Off am I to Breakfast.
Wose: Feel Better!

Macy, I just found “21 truly upsetting vintage recipes” on BuzzFeed. Some of those recipes look familiar. And why is jello that upsetting anyway? I love mayonnaise and too many of them use Helmann’s.
http://www.buzzfeed.com/ariannarebolini/truly-upsetting-vintage-recipes
I think the salmon portrait is my favorite worst one. Although the one with the green stuff over a mound of pink stuff is pretty awful too. I think we could maybe use number 20, the igloo meatloaf, as a meal at the Hobbit Hotel?
12:20 pm on January 12th, 2014
Chetspeak: Yes, I agree that sentence is wonderful: “the “maddening way it goes with cats, so no surprise…” Heh, heh, heh.
MacyMinPin: Which is the maddening way it goes with trying to make an airline reservation over the internet with air points! Plunder on!
Wose: It is starting to sink in that I am going to Alaska. Really looking forward to meeting the doggies and mushers! Thanks to you and CHobbit for paving the way and all the other Alaskan bound Plunderers for giving me the courage to just say YES!
Checkpoint Announcement
A short-legged Plunderer with a tightly curled tail has started a Checkpoint in honor of Philip Walters, great friend and handler of Snowhook Kennels, amazing photographer and soon-to-be father!
The Philip Walters Checkpoint is now open for donations!
WhoooHooo! Go Snowhook!
Still needing donations are the Rescues, the Elders and the Giants. Hard to choose between those. Donate to all three!
Buddy’s Checkpoint (Rohn) has become fully funded! Hooray!
Cherokee’s Checkpoint (Nikolai) has some Siberian heritage just like Cherokee does. You may remember that Cherokee is the god-dog of the O’Howlers’ Mom & Dad. Cherokee is in kidney failure but is given fluids daily and monitored. He is a happy and well-loved Husky who epitomizes the Plunder On! work ethic and will bring joy and enthusiasm to the Iditarod Trail. Please keep Cherokee and his family and friends in your prayers.

Yesterday…a katastrophe…because of howling winds we missed the big playoff game! Fortunately for the many people without power, the Seattle Public Library had opened up their auditorium to show the game on the big screen. The victorious Hawks go on to the NFC Championship game on 24th. WoooHooo!
Beau: Today we will be watching the game with you…very closely.
(dare we hope?)
Staff: Passport photo. I say-Alice or Abbie (okay, okay…I told her…enough already)
12:35 pm on January 12th, 2014
Chetspeak is funny this morning. I am pretending I don’t know there is a chicken on the other side of our 6 foot wooden fence. If my folks did not get the fence fixed and it falls to the ground in the wind today…bingo.
Our weather forecast is for blowing dust today.
Rio, When you get back from buying hot wings and beer for the game today, check your SDD

Cripple Checkpoint has been fully sponsored for the “Snort and Yark Rescues”! I believe you can guess which two Plunderers got together to fund this checkpoint and you would be right!
Thanks to those two guys and their friends (who are missing their credit cards). Quick, guys! Put those credit cards back before they notice!
If you want a checkpoint reserved you had better do it now. There is only one left!

Snort and Yark Rescues? Cool!!!!
How about Shiek and Leo’s, Dawson? We thought theirs still needed some bucks?
We braved the super-mud and went on the Dog Walk that had been rescheduled from last Sunday’s awful weather. There were only 3 other Members of the Nation, but they were new to us so we had a great time. Dima was walked by Risa, the organizer. They kept a pace that the rest of us struggled to follow. Nobody can believe Dima is 12, let alone a C-Survivor. What a dude!

Back from a very trying trip to the store. Carpola. Looked okay when we left the Island, other than the usual tree branches on the sides of the road, (thank you night-time utility crew) but by the time we reached the store there was standing water on the highway and it was raining kats ‘n dawgs.
Now we are home and have lined up the couch cushions for the game. Thank you for the info on the starting time, Siber.

Staff–against my better judgment I clicked on your horrible fake food link (OK, I know it’s called something else). My first thought was “Why perpetuate concepts and images like this?” but then I also found out I couldn’t tear my eyes away (or flush them out with acid). GAAH! (And yet, fascinating…)
My favorite line in the books is where Chet says that cats like milk, and then says something about how they drink it in tiny sips, never spilling a drop. His final verdict on this is: “Cats will do anything to annoy.”

Dinner break, so we are catching up with everything.
New Musher in training! Woo hoo and congratulations to Phillip!
The Patty cake Kat video was a riot!
Interesting thing has happened here. Mama has been fine after her bout with the flu. She still feels fine, but has lost her voice again. She sounds like a cross between Kathleen Turner and Louis Armstrong. She didn’t even know she had lost it until she started making dinner and tried to tell us to get out of the way. We just looked at her with our heads cocked sideways like we didn’t understand or hear her. heheheheheheh
Diane – what would YOU do if you encountered a pantless passenger? We don’t have any mass transport out here in the sticks, so we can’t participate (thank dawg)

Heh, I will admit. I watch the olympics but not as much as i used to. The coverage seems so fragmented now. And on different channels at the same time. I also love to watch the Tour de France in July. No one else I know except the Turtleman seems to care about it either. And we are far away from each other in July.
Oh well, more time to sew and blog.
Nighty noodle – time to ice my brain.

Wow!…The girls of comedy brought the show in on time. I thought they did a great job. No needless singing and dancing routines. They got to the point of giving Awards..heh!…And it was still very funny over-all..snort!…Good job Golden Globes…snorkel!
