Chetspeak on Sunday

Bernie, my partner in the Little Detective Agency, was here all right, but hadn’t yet made an appearance. His snoring, coming from the bedroom down the hall, made a lovely sound, actually musical to my way of thinking. We’d had a late night down at Central Booking, trying to hand over a perp we’d busted, name of Truffles Siminoni, whose MO was all about boosting fancy food from high-end restaurant kitchens. We had lots of pals at Central Booking, everything usually going smoothly, but last night there’d been a hitch – something about the evidence having disappeared, was that it? A pound of caviar, whatever caviar happened to be, or possibly two pounds? While I was wondering about all that, although not wondering hard, Mr. Parsons called Bernie’s name again. His wavery old voice sounded even waverier and older than usual. I rose, gave myself a shake – not the long kind that starts at my nose, goes to the tip of my tail and then all the way back, and sometimes makes one more round after that! – no, this was a just a quick shake to get going.

I went down the hall to Bernie’s bedroom, and just as I was about to enter gave myself one of those good long shakes after all. Some things you can’t explain. At that moment I happened to lick my muzzle. Hey! It tasted salty.

Morning, Howlers. Happy Sunday, Chetspeak and Egg Day to all! Salty, heh ,heh that Chet 🙂 Mom is sharing Deviled Eggs with us. She said they are the rejects, but they tasted just fine to us.
Enjoy a super Sunday whether celebrating with the Cubbies, Out and about or doing the couch potato exercise!

I’m trying to remember why Chet’s muzzle tasted salty. I have homework!

The size of our household has doubled once again. Jace and his mom (and kitten) are now living with us. Breena has changed and is no longer a party girl.
it wasn’t an easy decision for us, but we are hopeful that she can get it right this time.

i think we need to start planning an emancipation party for Rio’s friend. And we should make it The Best Party EVER!!!

I was thinking we could rent the Queen Mary. It is quite lovely. Any other ideas? Rio?

Heh heh – Chet’s version of Egg Day.

Gramsey – a party sounds like a lovely idea. Only concern with the QEII is that Alice usually ends up doing the clean up – and with a party headquarters that large – well, she might object.
(and is there room on the quarterdeck for her to land the Lear jet?)

Ben will remember the game, but at his age (10) he has no concept of the time span back to 1945.

Gramsey, Caviar, the missing evidence, is the reason he tasted salty!

Also, I thought Jace was living with you already. Has Brenna been around the entire time? Hard to keep up!

Beautiful day her. Did a little yard clean up, ran over to get 3 buckets of donkey poop for the garden, and have now had a shower.

I have only 100 pages left of the 464 pages of Small Great Things. If I hadn’t worked Thurs and Friday, I would be finished with it. Not getting much else done!

There is snow on the ground and it is ten degrees outside. Sitting on one of my dog pillows and warmed by the wood stove, I have made the command decision that I’m not going outside until late April, maybe early May. I will play it by ear.

Rio: The Giant will do just about anything for our Lady. And, our Lady will do just about anything for her favorite pug. So if you want it to be renamed the burped arch for your party, we have a pretty good feeling that it will get the Giant’s stamp of approval.

It has been a big weekend at the Kennel. I received a magnetic kat of my very own making Belle Starr jealous. A tip of my hat to BlueKat in gratitude. Plus! Plus, the Giant has had Twix for just about every meal the past two days. We are blessed.

We offer the kennel as a venue for the party if it suits the guest of honor.
