Chetspeak on Sunday

4th of July “Americans” edition:

“But it wouldn’t be just!” said Mrs. Parsons. “Locking someone up for buying the wrong cactus? What country are we in?”

A tough question. The Valley was in Arizona, a fact I’d picked up fairly recently. Also we were Americans, me and Bernie. That was as far as I could take it. Maybe not far, but farther than Iggy. He wriggled around on the footstool, getting more comfortable, and began to snore.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday HOH, B. Stover and Blog Family.

B.–Thanks for the background on “patsy”. The Italian derivation makes sense (far more than my brother’s childhood confusion of “patsy” with “pansy”).
I need to check out that interactive page…

Iggy on an ottoman. Yup, that works.

Good morning all. That danged weather guy is just sooooo bad at his job. Another “perfect, sunny, summery day” is dark, overcast, breezy and cool.

All we wanted was to go bask in the sun with Mama. We are very good at basking. And barking. We are very good at that too. Just ask the neighborhood.

WM, I just posted that same thing to my FB page this morning.

If you have to be gone, close shades or blinds, and turn the t v on. Helps muffle the loud booms.

Out to pick beans and cut the grass in the backyard. Later gators.

When Wolfie danced across the Bridge, Matthew and I decided not to get another dog. We have Kats out the ying-yang and we had Gus and Lily. We inherited Lily when Jace’s mom lived with us, and she is a high maintenance 15 lb yapper dog with a heart of gold.

    But Gus was heartbroken.

Enter Roscoe. He is a handsome 100 plus hunk of good cheer. And, he is an fabulous leaper. About once a year he stays with us when his mom travels. The rest of the time, he lives on a zip line. Years ago, Marcie had offered him to us, but the timing wasn’t right.

(Can you see where this is leading?)

When Marcie dropped Roscoe off, Gus looked up, grinned, and shook off his grief.

And so, Fellow Plunderers, I hereby introduce you to Roscoe!

Wolfie’s Wonderful Wow-Mom: Welcome to Roscoe!

We have a serious rainfall warning in effect and yet the sun is shining.

Roscoe we are happy to see you. Finally LOL. Off to the airport to pick up a friend from Austin who is escaping the heat for 9 days in the North. We have to go to FARGO. We will be very careful down in that evil city.

    And speaking of Luna…

We have it on very good authority here that Wolfie has definitely approved of Roscoe’s arrival on the scene.

Awww – Roscoe is a cutie. He could maybe be a stand-in for Chet when they make the movie. He looks like he could be a high-leaping, 100 pounder. They would just have to pain one of his ears black.

We here are hoping that since the weather is so dry, neighbors will rethink the advisability of setting off any fireworks tonight. Hoping, but not all that hopeful.
Some of our neighbors are idiots.

Yeah, I stupidly clicked confirm, even tho I was pretty sure we were already friends. I went in and unfriended. Is that all I need to do?

    Ole Doc,

Dad put me on the big bed, but I did not approve. Oh no, I did not. I jumped down right away because everyone knows that Good Dogs sleep in their own doggie beds, and I am a Good Dog.

    Love,

    Roscoe

Gus and Lily are obviously not Good Dogs, because they sleep in the big bed every single night. I do not like to judge, but I do not approve.
