Chetspeak on Sunday

Old man Heydrich, our neighbor on the other side, was out watering his lawn. We have a desert-style lawn, me and Bernie, and so do the Parsons, but Heydrich has a golf-course-style lawn, or even greener. Bernie got a real annoyed look on his face. Now that I’d seen the aquifer with my own eyes, almost totally gone already, I was just as annoyed as Bernie. How hard would it be to snatch that hose right out of his hand? A piece of cake. Let’s leave out my thoughts on actual cake for the time being.

Old man Heydrich glanced over at us, through a tiny rainbow that hovered in the spray. “Parsons kick the bucket?” he said.

“Excuse me?”

“Happened to see the ambulance.” Heydrich turned the hose on a big flowerpot with one small yellow flower growing in the middle, and watered it until it slumped over. “Happen to know he’s been poorly. Added it up.”

“There’s one aquifer,” Bernie said. “One and one only. Do the math on that.”

Good morning, everyone! Love Chetspeak and it is Egg Day to boot.
BooBear and Macy the MP, be sure to get you mom’s to batten down the hatches,
especially if they have them. Staff, thank you for the weather update last night…Brrr! Poor Rio and Beau have snow up to their curly pug tails 🙁 Watch out
LL, HRH B and B&M&L, looks like winter is on the way!
    Have a sweet surprising Sunday!

    Good morning HOH and all.

Thirty degrees here in Wisconsin. We missed 3 inches of snow yesterday, but at least 5 inches are being predicted for later tomorrow. We have only an inch of the white stuff, but a nice thick layer of ice under it. No walkabouts for us.

I love Chet and Bernie. Aren’t they the greatest?

LL, mom is convinced that OFA was either: 1) a dog in a past life or 2) a well discuised K9.

That scene made me wonder if Heydrich could do math.

Still raining here but we may be in for ice tomorrow.

    Good morning all.

The Prof and I are headed to Woodstock, NY for a few days of R&R.
We have rented a little house there. Should be fun…Scrabble, watch of few movies, and sleep late.

To those of you who are in the past of nasty weather, please be careful and stay safe.

    Good morning all.

I am fairly certain old man Heydrich never read Pogo.

I’ve had my egg and now thinking of going right back to bed. That’s what the cats do and who am I to argue with success?

Yes, mild weather is almost over, at least for now. Cold and icy tomorrow. I would rather drive in snow than on ice.

Still in the 70s here. The trailer didn’t cool off at all last night even with the windows open! We hounds are hoping that after this next front goes through it will cool off like our folks tell us. They say five nights of freezing or below whatever five is.
India, we think you are beautiful. Darah is very jealous.

Snow in New Mexico. I read several days ago that there was snow on the pyramids and the sphinx in Egypt. Go to Google and type snow on pyramids 2015 for images.

We visited SiberH’s maw in our travels with Santa. To let her know that he is mindful of her from the Other Side of the Bridge we ate random pieces of paper in tribute to his eating shopping spree evidence. Did she get a chuckle at our antics? Youse tell us.

We are in a perpetual state of dusk. It is gray and rainy. I would almost wish for snow, but not quite yet. Remember how years ago, we put chains on our tires each winter? What is the equivalent for canes?

We found a new thing in the marketplace – Irish Corned Pork. Said to be just like corned beef, but using the much more common in Ireland pork. Cooked the same way. Can’t wait to try it.

Martha – have you tried a “hurry-cane”? Not sure of the spelling, but it is a cane that has 4 feet on the bottom. The Storyteller used one in PT after his big surgery 3 years ago and found it very helpful.

Shocked and saddened to hear of TC’s passing. As I watch my senior foster cat slowly fading from liver failure, I try to gage each day in terms of her quality of life and hope that I know when I need to make a decision to help her transition.

Oh TC, the kitty I did not know, but the little cat that was loved by her family and will be forever missed. There will be that place in her home where she liked to curl up…..and you will never fail to think of her there. It is always so good to know there were greeters to show her the way over the bridge.

Wose…I did not wear lederhosen nor did I yodel while walking in the alps (I was too busy gasping for air at the altitude. For all it’s mountains, I live at sea level in Alaska).

I can see the purpose of military time. When I take a nap and wake up at 4:30 or 5:30, I cannot figure out if it is am or pm. Curse the Alaska darkness for a few weeks longer. Actually, once I am completely over jet lag, I will not be taking naps.

The snow situation in New Mexico is serious. Some parts (SE) got 10 to 20 feet of snow with drifts of 6 to 10 feet!
