Chetspeak (5): The Canyon
Home is our place on Mesquite Road. Our part of the Valley isn’t fancy like Beaumont Hills, but who would want to live anywhere else? For one thing, we’ve got the canyon out back, open country that goes on and on, plus more lizards, javelinas and coyotes than you could shake a stick at. That’s something humans say, but I’ve gotten lots of sticks in my mouth and could have shaken them at all kinds of creatures if I’d wanted. Once I actually did shake a squirrel. Was that bad? I was so surprised I’d caught the little bugger, first and only time!
– from To Fetch A Thief.
Happy belated birthday (yesterday) to Al Green. And happy birthday, Melanie (today).

Good egg day, Everybody.
Happy Birthday, birthday people.
Positive thoughts to Rose and the Griz, Storyteller and Golinka, and Plunderers everywhere.
OFA’s up early. Perhaps he’s tip-tapping away…go, Spence!
8:05 am on April 14th, 2013
Happy Egg Day, to you too, Bluecat.
We are wondering if the e-story has to do with that Chet lookalike out across the canyon.
Happy Birthday, Melanie!
And also Rio? Or his friend? Or both?
8:08 am on April 14th, 2013
Gooood morning everyone. Egg day breakfast coming in a moment but first, we’ve been practicing for Melanie…Whooo, hooo, yodel, howl, Happy b-day to Melanie, whoo, hoo, yodle, howl!
8:43 am on April 14th, 2013
Oops, so excited about singing, we forgot to say…Chetspeak, we love it!
9:26 am on April 14th, 2013
Brandy loved chasing squirrels and rabbits. (You’d be surprised how fast a rabbit can run.) He also loved to bark at tree frogs.
Happy birthday Melanie.
(I think Rio’s friend’s birthday is tomorrow.)
Good morning Chet and all.
9:37 am on April 14th, 2013
Thank you all for the Birthday wishes. I am (cough, cough, snort) years old. snicker
OTAS and GLAD gave me a geode! They got it in Mexico on their honeymoon and couldn’t find it for Christmas. We had to open it. That is GLAD stayed 10 feet away, with my feet I held the pieces of board holding the geode tight and OTAS opened it.
Or tried to . . he ended up using an awl. That worked. I’ll take pictures of it later.
A spending spree on Amazon! Woo Hoo! A bench to go over to the river edge. And a certain sometwo gave me a wish book. “The Alaska Cruise Handbook: A Mile-by-Mile Guide” by Joe Upton. And it has a MAP. I love maps. I am such a geek.
Here is my birthday song. After the last few whiles and this winter it is good to remember this.

Thank dog for Chetspeak. Go Spence!
Rio the evil Pug’s birthday is on tax day, April 15th. 2 evils.
Melanie: Have a wonderful time!
Wose & Griz: I hope you get home from this “camping trip” soon.
Pink Bulldozer: Go get ’em!
Tracking Plunderers: I finally read some back posts on the blog. Thanks to all who were tracking my flight and wishing me well.
I want to make a steady menu while I’m here so that the preparation of meals does not become a major drag. Sunday means eggs for breakfast.
10:21 am on April 14th, 2013
Happy birthday Melanie!
10:37 am on April 14th, 2013
Dawson, You mean you want to get in a rut. That can be a good thing for Dad. If it’s Sunday . . eggs for breakfast.
We always had some sort of roast for Sunday. Leftovers on Monday (Zoë also worked).
Tuesday was quick and simple, as was Wednesday and Thursday.
Fish sticks (remember those) was always a big hit.
Hot dogs, spaghetti, meatloaf . . always a veggie and salad.
Saturday was grill day. The Raven and Zoë had steaks and we had hamburgers.
Everyone helped clean up. Because after that was outside until the street lights came on.
10:47 am on April 14th, 2013
Snicker . . I saw this one Facebook. I should it to Zoë and she said “Under NO circumstances is that happening in THIS house.”
So, of course, I’m putting it on the blog . .
10:59 am on April 14th, 2013
Cute picture Melanie, but hot dogs and spagetti doesn’t sound great. Happy Birthday Melanie, and Rio’s friend tomorrow.
Josh has come and gone. Beds are mostly done. Will finish them up when dirt is delivered, which may be never if it doesn’t stop raining.
Thank you for the Chetspeak. Now will go have an egg sandwich. All the egg talk has made us hungry!
11:10 am on April 14th, 2013
The old fart told mom about the spaghetti things. Her answer was the same as Zoe’s. We are trying to figure out why…protien & carbs, doggone good to us.
11:18 am on April 14th, 2013
I think that the Royals’ buddy, Callie, would love those.
Thanks, Princess Sam
Time to go pick up the cake.
11:23 am on April 14th, 2013
We bet two legged pups would LOVE that hot dog/spaghetti thing. Little ones will eat almost anything – as long as it is not green. Or leafy. Or whole wheat.
Happy Birthday to Mama’s neatest friend ever.
Happy Birthday to the Greatest Coach who ever raised a Bella.
Happy pre-birthday to Rio’s Friend. (She needs all the good wishes she can get for putting up with Pugnacious Puppies)
11:28 am on April 14th, 2013
Chet, Stay away from the rattlesnakes and Gila Monsters that are in your canyon.
Good Morning All

Happy Birthday to the Porsche 911. It is 50 years old today.
I won’t be getting one for my birthday.

Head bumps and Happy birthday to Melanie!!! Enjoy it! You are, er, only a woman of a certain age once.
12:03 pm on April 14th, 2013
Happy Birthday Coach!
(I’m cool, I share a birthday with the one and only Coach)
Oh my Dog, I’m older than a Porsche 911. I am not getting one of those for my birthday either.
Time to try and find some make up for this shower thing . .

Scooter is very…altruistic.
Who is Ashton Kutcher? (I’m in my “prime” by the way.)
12:44 pm on April 14th, 2013
Melanie, with friends like Rio, who needes enemas!
12:46 pm on April 14th, 2013
Gah…needs 🙁 (Yes BSD, we should just learn to live with it)
12:53 pm on April 14th, 2013
Happy birthday to Melanie and Coach!
12:54 pm on April 14th, 2013
Aston Kutcher is an actor. He was on some long running reality show in MTV. I believe his current employment is in a situation comedy on one of the tv networks. For awhile, he was married to an actress, Demi Moore, who is much older than he is.
He is considered to be good-looking, but mom doesn’t think so.
1:05 pm on April 14th, 2013
Ashton Kutcher was also on “That 70s Show”.
Happy Birthday to Coach. We missed him in our Happy Birthdays.
Check this out: Turns out Bernie may be right about the aquafiers, although this article is about Texas.

Thank you SiberH. One of his movies, The Butterfly Effect, is on tv today on Encore. (Isn’t it strange how you see a new name and then see it again elsewhere.)
1:06 pm on April 14th, 2013
Ashton Kutcher replaced Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men.
1:12 pm on April 14th, 2013
B. Synchronicity…isn’t it?
1:33 pm on April 14th, 2013
Bernie is right about his acquafier. It is also happening here…our acquafier is going down, down, down. The situation is even worse in southern NM. The water the farmers are taking out of the ground keeps getting saltier and saltier. There may come a time when NM can no longer grow green chili and peanuts.
Thirty Five years ago the water engineers said the greater Albuquerque area had an unlimited supply of water underground. They were wrong.
1:43 pm on April 14th, 2013
Siber – we meant to thank you for sending us that newspaper article. It hasn’t arrived yet but we are looking forward to reading it.
We can’t wait to hear about the shower. There is a very funny theme to it – we will let Melanie tell you about that. Mama wanted so much to go, but figured maybe it would be better if she stayed here and managed the hospital.
Amazing the improve still that are seen since actual food was administered. Mama thinks she should write an article for the AMA about how sustenance may play a part in healing.
snort.
By the way – there is tv in the hospital room but no cable. There are 4 network channels, a golf channel, a food network and 10 shopping channels. We think it is so the hospital can save money on sleep medicine – the tv is so bad, the patients just snooze out of boredom
1:56 pm on April 14th, 2013
Testing (again) sigh.
2:08 pm on April 14th, 2013
Melanie – Have a wonderful birthday. Please post a picture of the cake so I can drool on it.
Also Happy Birthday to Coach.
2:17 pm on April 14th, 2013
This picture is what the ski trails looked like last Sunday. This area of the resort closed because the area on the the other side of the creek is the first fairway on the golf course and now the front nine need to get opened.

2:21 pm on April 14th, 2013
This is how it looks now. This is the bunny hill and behind it on the next trail there are some ski jumps. The way to get rid of the snow is to push it around and spread it out. This year there was a lot of snow to deal with. I don’t know what they were doing with that big wall of snow piled up.

2:28 pm on April 14th, 2013
My Two-Legged and I took the test to find out our age. We had to fudge the answers a bit because she doesn’t drink and I’m not old enough. And, the results are in—we are waiting for our first laugh line according to the test. We’re in for a long wait, because I may have mentioned before, my Two-legged isn’t funny.
My very, most special, best friends, Wose is a babe in the woods, too. She has beautiful skin. I’ve done some thinking. I believe I know where Wose is at these days. She is in transit to the kennel to be our handler. We pay in the opportunity to give tummies and dog fur. Our dental plan is simpled: Don’t get cavities.
2:48 pm on April 14th, 2013
Siber, we thought those golf courses down there being so green are proof that you have plenty of water. heh heh
2:54 pm on April 14th, 2013
testing
3:08 pm on April 14th, 2013
Hey, Chet. Shake any good sticks lately?
3:09 pm on April 14th, 2013
Hi Chet!
Fellow Sibers, The golf course that is nearest to me is being put up for auction because the owners can’t afford the water bills.
3:14 pm on April 14th, 2013
Siber, How can that be? Water is free, like air!
3:14 pm on April 14th, 2013
Wonder why Chet is testing?
Bee, I would be glad to send Josh over, but he is a much-in-demand guy. You might have to get in line!
Right now Barb is going to drive over to see if they need any help with their Sunday project. BBL
3:15 pm on April 14th, 2013
Silly Sibes. They must think water grows on trees.
3:21 pm on April 14th, 2013
Sharon: LOL!
Synchronicity–“Coincidence of events that seem to be meaningfully related.” To me that seems to be a contradiction. How can “coincidence” be “meaningful”?
3:23 pm on April 14th, 2013
B: He may be no Josh, but I could see if the Giant is available. He has his own tools which have been made sparkly and pretty when he wasn’t looking.
3:34 pm on April 14th, 2013
Chet!….What is Chet testing?…sniff!
3:35 pm on April 14th, 2013
Testing. Thanks for your help, Chet, and yay for Chetspeak.
Happy Birthday(s) to Melanie & Coach! (and to the Porsche, of course)
Riö: Mom is happy. She took the quiz and found out her “real” age is 35, but how could it be any different? After all she does know who Ashton Kutcher is.
Siber & Howlers: It is no surprise Bernie was right about the aquafiers. He IS the smartest guy in the room.
Bella: You may be right about our Rose being on her way to that little handler cabin in the woods. Belle Starr will be so pleased!
3:40 pm on April 14th, 2013
Chet! Nobody noticed, but we here were having problems posting on the blog. sniff.
3:49 pm on April 14th, 2013
B: How ’bout oxymoron?
Chet: Nice test. Were we supposed to study?
Is there real Rose news or is the HOH out in left field (to coin a bb phrase for Rio)? And speaking of the pug-ster…..
3:53 pm on April 14th, 2013
I noticed Masquers.
Thank you Rebecca!
3:54 pm on April 14th, 2013
Masquers, What was the problem? Maybe Wose is having that same problem.
Doc just got his 200th win! And more importantly, his first of the season. Yay!
3:58 pm on April 14th, 2013
Woo hoo – Mama is twirling for lots of reasons.
* The Storyteller is doing very well and is feeling better
* He will go to the Spine Rehab center tomorrow or Tuesday
* The surgeon was in and is VERY happy with the progress
* AND Mama is only 35 years old by that test. Whew! She says she felt MUCH older.
twirl, spin, dip, kick, twirl, twirl, twirl
3:59 pm on April 14th, 2013
Also – she says she would go see ANYTHING with Sean Connery. The other guys – not so much.
4:00 pm on April 14th, 2013
I don’t think it’s an oxymoron either. “Sophomore”–literally “wise fool”–is a good example of an oxymoron. Pondering.
4:12 pm on April 14th, 2013
Ahem…I decoded a message from my very, most special, best friend Wose. She is not in transit to the Kennel as I hoped. I repeat, she is not in transit to the Kennel. If my decoding skills are up to par, she is tucked under the quilt and lurking. Either that, or she wants a ham and Swedish fish sandwich for dinner. In any case, my Four-Legged are reporting for smooching duty under the quilt.
4:14 pm on April 14th, 2013
T&G: Love hearing the good news about the Storyteller!
Here too…crazy for, he who was, the original Bond…James Bond.
Howlers: Apparently my morning posts were considered not to be blog-worthy. Then again it could have been a fauxpaw.
We will never know for certain.
B: Thank you for noticing.
Belle: Joining you under the quilt.
4:18 pm on April 14th, 2013
Felow Sibers, Congratulations to Doc. I like him.
umm, No, Water is not free here. It is getting very expensive. People that put in gardens are thinking about not putting in gardens. I do not have to worry about this because I am not paying anybody money for water.
Oh boy, I am glad Leonard is getting out of that hospital and going to rehab.
Masquers, Are you still with us?
I am getting very worried about Rose.
4:21 pm on April 14th, 2013
Ok, As Rio would say, refresh before posting.
Belle Starr, Thanks for the Rose report. Hugs Rose
Masquers is with us.
4:22 pm on April 14th, 2013
T&G: Yeah for the Storyteller! Lots of work in Rehab but makes life bettr at home!
Looks like 35 is the magic number today. Who’da thunk?
My vote has been for Sean Connery since I noticed boys 🙂
B: Keep pondering. We’re wondering.
Belle: TY for the Rose update. We were concerned.
And where’s everyones” favorite Rio?
4:27 pm on April 14th, 2013
And, Macy? Where is Miss Macy? I bet she is at the submarine races with Mr. Redbone Hound. My mamas say I’m not allowed to go to any submarine races.
4:30 pm on April 14th, 2013
I will catch up when I rest. It could be tomorrow . . snicker
Shower was fun.
I love my chair and heating pad. It is going at top heat . . Ahhhhhhh
4:43 pm on April 14th, 2013
BelleStarr: Thanks for the news. Wose is safely under the quilt and the Smoochers are on the job, tucking in the corners.
Happy Birthday to Coach!
Staff and I are having a bit of a crying festival today as we remember Mom and Chris and talk about how we can satisfy Dad’s needs while staying sane.
4:43 pm on April 14th, 2013
Busy!…I’m super-duper busy watching the baseball game and keeping tabs on my friend…sniff!…She is busy working on her Big Idea. I can report that her first prototype was a success with the guinea-pig customer….heh!…It will be mailed out tomorrow to the unsuspecting guinea-chicken who will take ownership…snorkel!…Someone here will be on pins and needles till it arrives…grunt!
4:48 pm on April 14th, 2013
Dawson – we understand that feeling very well. Mama highly recommends having meltdowns on a regular schedule. The whole package of down on the floor, kicking and screaming, fists pounding, etc.
It certainly stops anyone from asking you to do them a favor.
4:57 pm on April 14th, 2013
Melanie: before it is too late…happy day to youse!
Siber-H: I have never heard of a golf course being auctioned. I wonder what it ends up going for? I have always fantasized that someone super rich would buy a golf course and turn it into a dog park.
I have been thinking of Rose and her trip to Alaska–going from the city to the wilderness, worrying about the weather, meeting strange people (heh heh). In a couple of days I am going to Las Vegas so I am worried about the weather, the crowds, the mega city. I keep cycling through emotions of nervousness about being in such a different place from what I am used to, excitement for the adventure, worried about not having the right clothes, what I am going to do, meeting strange people. I just need to remember all the things the Plunderers manage to do and that I, too, am a Plunderer in life. I told Rebecca it Nome that it is my hope that I don’t end up hiding in my hotel room. Yikes.
5:04 pm on April 14th, 2013
The Magical Quilt covers not only those who are feeling less than tip top, those who are recuperating from surgery and the ones watching over them, but all who are weary in Body, Mind and Spirit.
Staff & Dawson, lifting up a corner here for youse to climb under. You can join the others to rest a bit.
C.Hobbit: You hiding in a hotel room? It will Never Happen!
Bear Hugs to Wose.
5:05 pm on April 14th, 2013
Sharon: How about “cognizance” or “one becomes cognizant”?
5:07 pm on April 14th, 2013
CHobbit!…Are you going alone to Las Vegas?…snort!
5:19 pm on April 14th, 2013
Rio: yes, I will be in Vegas on my own. Most of my friends work or have been to Vegas with their husbands and no one leaped at the chance to go with me. In a mad moment a couple of months ago I decided to travel *somewhere* purely for vacation since, after all, I am retired and should be doing stuff like that.
Nome = no problem
Vegas = pant, pant (hyperventilating)
5:36 pm on April 14th, 2013
C.Harris, In one of his books, the Dog Whisperer says all golf courses should be shut down and turned into dog parks. I agree.
My mom says for you to get yourself to Vegas and have a great time! We are proud of you. My mom has always gone to the wilderness by herself. She takes a dog along, which she says is fun but a lot of work.
Traveling alone is a whole different kind of adventure, but it can be very rewarding.
5:46 pm on April 14th, 2013
B: We’ll take it!!
Hobbit: Heck, you’ll be the only sane person there! Enjoy the different feel. It is a 24/7 town and if you need something, you can find it.
5:49 pm on April 14th, 2013
Dear Hobbit – we heard it rumored by a certain Best Damn Handler Wife that Hobbits are quite adventuresome and independent. And look at all the wonderful things that happened to Bilbo Baggins when he ventured past his own little Bag End.
We wish you lots of fun, adventures (only the good kind) and a really big winning pull on the slot machines.
5:50 pm on April 14th, 2013
C. Hobbit, if you hear someone call out the names of Nathaniel or Nina, look for who answers. You might meet my nephew and/or wife of nephew.
I’m glad someone undercovered Rose. . snicker.. A noun used as a verb.
I thought I was going to talk about the shower but that will wait. The gluten free pineapple upside down cake was a hit. I saved pieces for OTAS and the Storyteller. Might be enough for Golinka too.
YSAS is taking his certification test for sword and shield fighting tonight. LLL will be there andhopefully be able to grab som shots.
6:05 pm on April 14th, 2013
Sorry but I don’t think going to Vegas alone is a good idea.
6:15 pm on April 14th, 2013
I’ve never been. There seems to be plenty to do besides gamboling. How about bungee jumping? Or going to Lake Mead? Is it Lake Mead?
Anywhoof, I am trying to convince myself that there is enough protein in cake to have that for supper.
Eggs? Check
Milk? Check.
Yup, I think I can get away with it.
6:20 pm on April 14th, 2013
Vegas!…I think CHobbit will be fine as long as she doesn’t pick up any Gigolos….heh!
6:36 pm on April 14th, 2013
C.Hobbit, be sure to keep us updated on your Vegas adventure. Mom understands the nervousness. She is already stressing about her Seattle trip. She is especially worried about the clothing part, because she feels she has to take clothes for cold and for warm, since she doesn’t know which it will be. And she really hates to fly.
Wose, under the quilt. Oh no. We are sending Kat to smooch and she will be smooching times 3 for all of us.
6:42 pm on April 14th, 2013
There is lots to do in Vegas besides you know what. You can take a helicopter ride to see the Grand Canyon. That would be fun.
Melanie, yes, it is Lake Meade.
6:57 pm on April 14th, 2013
Ms. Hobbit, you don’t have to worry about clothes to take when you go to Las Vegas. They have stores that sell everything in the world. Anything you want/need/don’t need you can find there.
7:02 pm on April 14th, 2013
SiberH!…This game is getting exciting now!….snort!
7:03 pm on April 14th, 2013

Twirling!…I’m Twirling! And spinning! I’m Spinning!….Woooo!
7:10 pm on April 14th, 2013
I notice you are mentioned before Snowhook . .
Hmmm . . Zoe agreed with me on the cake. That’s dinner.
MollyPop’s mom, I did take a picture of it before everyone got to it.

CHobbit: if my Lady can go to Vegas by herself, you can do it, too. The Giant doesn’t like to let her out if his sight for nothing, but sometimes there is no help for it. The first time she went to Vegas was alone for work. She arrived in the middle of the night and was told by the staff the only room left in the hotel/kasino was not smoke free. She specifically requested a smoke free room because of her asthma. Oh, we’ll. She was exhausted. She called AJ to let him know she arrived safely and told him about the room. He said he would call back in a few minutes. Sure enough, the phone rang about ten minutes later. It wasn’t AJ. It was the hotel manager who informed my lady that he just had a pleaser conversation with the Giant, and he was to inform her that a nonsmoking room just opened. The bellboy showed my Lady to her knew room, but it wasn’t any old room. It was a suite. She found another hotel off the strip the following day. The hotel manager was very helpful. As far as clothes, she says it is obvious she is not from around those parts, but we here are certain you will have fun! You are and adventurous, little Hobbit!
7:13 pm on April 14th, 2013
Melanie!…CHobbit has to have her priorities in place as she is shopping in all those kool stores…snort!snort!
7:15 pm on April 14th, 2013
Tip-tap-typos! Pleasant, not pleaser. New, not knew. Sheesh.
The quilt is big enough for all who need it. I will bring snacks. My Lady says I’m having a flare-up, whatever that is.
7:15 pm on April 14th, 2013
Mr. Tenzing!….Sounds like the Giant is part pink bulldozer…heh!snort!heh!

I think he gets it from his pug side of the family.

Helton’s Home Run did it!! (and good pitching)

Me too, Wose. The quilt is super soft and comfy and lots of good company. Come on in, Tenzing.

Hey!…Rose is back!…snort!…Too bad she has to be under something on the weekend…wuffle!…My friend is Not going to the busy-damned-place tomorrow. She is going to do other things, like sitting at the DMV, and then shopping!shopping!shopping! -which she hates, but this is supposed to be different. It will be getting special photos matted for framing, and buying a sound system for us downstairs….grunt!…Something went wrong in her plans though and her mother has invited herself along for lunch at the new Italian restaurant in town….sniff!…My friend was going to go somewhere else by herself, but hell no, not now!…gruffle!…Will there be cake? Who knows.

It sounds like a party under the Quilt!
Wose, we here are very glad to hear from you. Take care.
Staff and Dawson, wrap that quilt around you both, and revel in the joy you have being together and getting to cry your hearts out. It does you good to do that sometimes.
Tenzing, you snuggle up with the others, but whatever you do, DON’T PLAY CARDS WITH THOSE SISTERS!
We are thrilled with the Storyteller’s amazing progress.

Speaking of the quilt, we have a few here who are queueing up. Today, Mom was hoping to take Annie to Green Lane for the first trail ride of the season. But when she was walking her out to the pasture in the morning, Annie didn’t want to walk. She wouldn’t put any weight on her right rear foot. The farrier had to come over, and he doud a piece of gravel deep down in. They soaked her foot in Epsom salts, and wrapped it. Poor Annnie will have to stay in her stall for awhile.
Meantime, the ‘rents are taking a vacation day tomorrow. What fun event iis planned you ask? They are driving Chato to the Large Animal Hospital to get his eye examined and who knows what. He can’t see out of that eye, and we aren’t sure if anything can be done for it. Possibly, they might find something bad and do what they did to Shiek’s eye all those years ago. Everybody, please cross your fingers and paws.
8:53 pm on April 14th, 2013
Thank dawg Rose has surfaced. Keep well.
OH: Know that Chato will be in our puppy prayers tonight.
We are hitting the hay a bit early tonight so we can bark at 1:30 a.m. again at the dratted racoon. It is a game mom loves 🙂 Nighty night.
8:55 pm on April 14th, 2013
Glad to hear from Rose. Stay under the quilt with Dawson and Staff as long as you need to.
Hope all goes well with Chato tomorrow.
We are saying good night now. Sweet dreams all.

Fellow Sibers, Paws crossed and please keep us posted.

Howlers: There is always room for more. I brought plenty of snacks. That’s our motto—my Lady and me—choose your attitude and have plenty of snacks. As far as cards with the sisters—too late. I entered into a game of strip poker and lost my collar on the first paw.

YSAS is now SAFD certified in Broadsword and shield. He is happy.
Goodness, that quilt is seeing some use. Rose, glad you’ve come out from your covers to the quilt. O’Howlers, finger, toes, tails and paws crossed. Tenzing, I’m sorry you had a sun flare.
Card sharps in the area. Whew . . Got to be careful with those two. Though if Dawson gets the quilt on a bet, maybe Staff will make her one and we can keep ours.
My brain is gone, but I do notice we are still missing Macy. Hope all is well with her and hers.

Sharks!…Card with the Sisters sounds like fun!…snort!…But I’ve spent all my treatie money on clothes for the Giant…sniff!…Or so I’ve been told…grunt!
9:57 pm on April 14th, 2013
Clarkson!….He is my swashbuckling hero!….Wooooooo!
10:12 pm on April 14th, 2013
Horses!…I do not remember a Chato. Is this another horse friend of the Howlers?…sniff!…Sounds like their day off will be as fun as someone else’s day off…grunt!
Beau!…He gave everyone a scare a while ago by running around pooping in 4 different places…sniff!…But my friend says all is well and it is about time he got back to normal…gah.
Work!…My friend put in a full days worth of work on her Big Idea. She wishes she could do this full-time instead of that other nasty stuff she does all day at the busy-bad-place..sniff!
10:15 pm on April 14th, 2013
Losing in a game of strip poker with the sisters isn’t the most embarassing moment of my life, but that’s a story for another time.
I’m glad Beau is doing better. We had to air out the quilt after last week.

Happy birthday, Melanie and Coach and a Happy Early Birthday to Rio and Friend!!
Special healing thoughts to all not feeling tip-top. Hang in there and let the quilt work it’s magic.
C.Hobbit, enjoy Vegas! Wardrobe should not concern you. People wear the entire spectrum there. If Mom had won the lottery, she would fly to meet you. Instead, she will head to work in the morning. Bummer! Vegas is a wonderful place to wander around and look at the sights. Just don’t advertise to anyone that you are alone and check in with us daily!
10:24 pm on April 14th, 2013
CHobbit!…Good advice from Puss N’ Boots…snort!…Just keep low – easy to do as a Hobbit…heh!…Act like you are all-knowing and all-seeing and have a “Don’t Mess With The Hobbit” attitude….snort!…And play Black Jack while you are there!…sniff!…That is the game my friend would play if she were there with you…heh!

O’Howlers: Thinking of Chato and all paws crossed for encouraging news at tomorrow’s v-e-t visit.
Annie: Hope your hoof is feeling better soon.
Tenz: Quite a party we have going on under the Quilt. Thank Dawg you brought all kinds of snacks.
Wose: Call the busy place in the morning to say, sorry no can do. If Rio’s Friend can take a day off from the salt mines you can too.
Hey, There’s Dr. Sam over there writing (an excuse) a prescription especially for you.
Wondering what a certain Min-Pin and her Mr. Redbone Hound are up to tonight.
Time to set the programming for Mad Men or I should say…Mad Women.
This season is going to be Good! It’s 1968 and the Women’s Rights Movement is changing everything.

A couple of years ago, Jodi, the person not the puppy and my Lady were in Vegas for a conference. Jodi is a Vegas pro. The first bit of advice she told my Lady: Don’t accept anything anyone hands you on the street. Such nekkidness!

Vegas!…They don’t call it The Strip for nothing….heh!snort!heh!

We hope all who are feeling poorly get better fast.
Hobbit- when in Vegas alone, wardrobe should be:
Black slacks, black or red brocade vest, white long sleeve shirt and comfortable black shoes. This way, everyone will think you are just another casino worker and they will leave you alone.
Bed is calling our name. G’night all

Busy weekend here, went to a Potomac Valley Golden Retriever CLub event yesterday, talked to a number of breeders and found some we really liked a lot. Today was tomato day, planted six plants, more to come on that tomorrow.
Almost belated happy birthday to Melanie and Coach, and early happy birthday to Rio and friend. Rockies are looking better than my Nats right about now. Also, I have four tickets to the Nationals/Rockies game on June 23. Woo! Woo!
Rose, we had a message from Wookie that he will be joining the smoochers with you under the quilt — he considers it a top priority mission.
11:09 pm on April 14th, 2013
Who Hooo. Tenzing is down to one bootie. heh. He said he is sorry he didn’t wear socks with his booties. snicker.
Dawson is kicking his butt. (not really) His furry bottom is safe for now.
11:15 pm on April 14th, 2013
Game!…OHMYDawg! That is so great that Wookie’s Paw has tickets to the game when My Team will be there…snort!snort!…This is so amazing….heh!heh!…May the best team win!
11:19 pm on April 14th, 2013
Nats!…They are one game behind the Rockies now…sniff!…But both teams are smack in the middle of their division…wheeze!
11:22 pm on April 14th, 2013
Wookie’s Dad. We here are so glad you are talking to Golden breeders. Wishing you the best.
Nighty noodle y’all.

I am learning a difficult lesson. I should have shown up for the game in full race dress—harness, dog jacket, dog blanket, booties, race ID tag, collar and a smile. I’m close to wearning only my smile. Dawson may be kicking my furry hindquarters so to speak, but my tummy is being rubbed in the process.
Wookie, what a guy, what a guy. I miss him, but I am certain he will play a paw in the next member at casa de Wookie.

Good morning, everyone. We are enjoying an extended weekend with the ‘rents. They do not have to leave until noon to take Chato to New Bolton. That is the Iniversity of Penn’s Large Animal Hospital. It is about 1 1/2 hrs away by car, so it will take them longer with the horse trailer. Chato is Pop’s horse. Pop has been hurt bad on him, twice, and lost his confidence, until they got Ned from that rescue last year. Chato was over-trained in his youth (before he came here) and doesn’t have confidence, altho Mom thinks he may have been having eyesight issues way back, and that may have caused his spookiness. Mom is in love with him. On the ground, he is a true gentleman.
This morning, before they leave, Annie’s foot must be soaked and re-wrapped. Only Annie would be this patient and calm having to stay in her stall on beautiful Spring days. We all love our Annie.

Hey there terrific blog! Does running a blog like this require a lot of work?
