Good morning, plunderers! Jasper’s mom here. I just dropped Jazzy off at the groomers, he was a stinky dog! I am busy packing and purging, because I am moving to Lansing this month! Where? No clue. When? Still no clue. However, the decision to make the move has been made. Application made to apartment complex, waiting for approval. House has not sold, and doesn’t look good for it to sell, but I’m moving anyway.
I don’t check in as often as in the past because my days are so long due to work and the drive. However, once I move I’ll be back (said in an Ahnold accent). (Youse guys can’t get rid of me!)
Job is going great. All is well and progressing wonderfully. I am convinced that your good wishes, thoughts and prayers were a big reason why I got this job.
Supposed to be near 90 today, so I’ve already got the AC cranking.

I am honored to say that I will be taking the photos for “Trashing the Dress” photo shoot for my will-be-daughter-in-law some time after the wedding.
I had no idea what that was. She wrote asking me and I said, “Huh?”
I googled it. It’s pictures of a joyous bride having a great time in her dress without worrying about it. Though she does not want the “trash” it, it must remain dry-cleanable!
She is a big hooper! I am thinking wedding dress and HOOPING!
(that’s hula hooping with much larger and heavier hoops than I remember)

Stover –While I very closely supervise my mom when she is making desserts, they are really more her recipes than mine. Yes! The auction is tomorrow and I can’t wait either. Right now, I’m posting the items from Snowhook and then need to go over the auction page with a fine tooth dog and make sure it is formatted correctly.
There are so many wonderful and wonderfluffed items in the auction! I was feeling kind of grumpy because I felt like I was going to miss out by not being able to bid, yet now I feel fortunate because I don’t have to make some hard decisions.
Rio: It may not be what you want, but I’d be happy to be your not-so-anonymous donor of some Snowhook items. I understand car problems as well as the importance of having a treat budget.

Canada Day is celebrated with a parade and yes BBQ’s. At least that’s what they do in this neck of the woods. An antique fire engine was leaving the parade, going up a steep street when the engine failed and it started rolling backwards. Rather than wipe out any vehicles behind him, the driver hit the ditch, and an electric pole, knocking out the power on that side of town.

Hey, y’all! I didn’t get on the blog yesterday because Mom left work early and came home sick. She just now dragged herself out of bed to turn the computer on for me. I think it’s because I jumped up on her bed to make her feel better — it took me a few tries, but I made it! When she woke up this morning her head was at the footboard and her feet were by the headboard! I guess she had a restless night! She says she’s pretty sure she isn’t going to die anytime soon, but she was kind of wondering last night!!!

Thanks Dawson and Bear…When I used Dawson’s method, I saw several videos of different Sibers saying “I love you”.
When I used Bear’s link, it took me straight to Mishka. She is one good-looking lass, but, Bear, let me tell you, the girl talks all the time. Felicitations of the day to all celebrants. Only 4 more days to my birthday, and I hope that all the hints I have left will net me an adult size Kong, instead of the puppy one I currently use. And some cookies, not bagged treats, but special dog cookies. I mean, really, 3 of are celebrating together, so there is no need to get all cheapo. We just got new Fiesta Ware bowls, so that is off the list. Is Fiesta Ware nationwide, or just a local item. Mom got 5 of them at a garage sale, so now we eat our kibble out of a bowl just the same as mom eats her kibble. (Or Lucky Charms as the case may be)

This is so embarrassing!
Melanie baked the most perfect cake and I blurred east to pick it up for delivery and I accidentally overshot my mark again.
I must recalculate the warp speed time and distance coordinates.
By the time I reached Melanie’s, I was so hungry that I ate a tiny piece because I knew that mom would understand.
And then I ate another piece, and then another.
And before I knew it, there was nothing left but crumbs.
I told mom that Melanie forgot to give me the cake so I hope there is no evidence of said cake.

Apologies for the metric measurements! 1 ounce = 25 grams, roughly
MANGO CHEESECAKE
For the biscuit base:
1 cup plain sweet biscuits crumbs
½ cup walnuts, finely chopped.
Add 75g melted butter and mix well. Press the biscuit mix into the base of a 20cm springform tin and refrigerate for 1 hour.
For the filling:
Chop three medium-sized mangoes, then process:
a 250g packet of cream cheese, 2 of the mangoes, 300ml thickened cream (the one that has gelatine in it – I assume you have that over there?) and ½ cup of caster sugar til smooth.
Dissolve 1 tablespoon of gelatine in ¼ cup of hot water. Cool this, but don’t let it set. Add it to the mango-cream cheese mixture and stir in the remaining chopped mango.
Pour into the biscuit base and refrigerate several hours (3ish) until set.
Personally, i put in less cream sometimes, about half, as it can make the mix a bit less firm.
