Chet’s Diner!

Thanks for this to Michelle, whom we met at an appearance at Bank Square Books in Mystic, CT. Chet’s Diner is in Northborough, Mass.

“So let’s go!” says Admin. “Now! This very minute!”

“Can’t today,” Spence says.

“Don’t tell me you’re still writing Scents and Sensibility?”

“Aren’t you the one who always says that books don’t write themselves?”

And here are Michelle’s pals Biggie, Ozzie, Milton, Obie, Oscar.

Thank you Michelle for the photo. Cute picture of your buddies, even tho it is photoshopped.

Good morning, B&M&L and everyone! Chet’s Diner, whooda thunk? We bet they serve the kind of things Chet and Bernie would love (us too). Hey to Michelle’s friends.
Having a wet, windy Wednesday here. Hope yours is a welcoming Wednesday.

HRH B, we found several reviews for Chet’s diner but also a minute and a half You Tube video. We couldn’t get the sound but it looks like standard diner fare (meatloaf, sandwiches, pies). It has been around for 50 years. That’s not bad in the food industry.

We keep hoping to find time to go to Northborough because that is where the closest Wegman’s store is for us.
So, when we go, we know where we will have lunch!

Good morning everyone. Let’s all hope for a good day for everybody.

A meat loaf dinner at Chet’s might be a really good choice. With mashed potatoes and green beans.

Oh no! We have a lake-effect snow advisory. I hate when that happens. Lake Erie is 50° and the storms come down the lake, pick up the warm water and dump it on us when they reach land. We here in the Buffalo area always give a big sigh of relief when the lake freezes.

Dear Rio, mom just got home so couldn’t defend herself till now. The information came from a You Tube video for a news station in the area. There was no date on the article as as we said earlier, we couldn’t get the sound to work. Video did show meatloaf and gravy and showed the afore mentioned menu board. Perhaps it was made before the hours were cut back.

Rio, LOL, or maybe it was an old menu from when she was open for breakfast and lunch.

All this talk of food is making us hungry too. Soaking chicken strips in buttermilk, then frying them (something we don’t do often). Herbed rice and baked butternut squash.

We will have things in the auction – we promise. But everything is packed up at our studio right now. We will find time VERY SOON to go get pictures of items. And a Bear will be involved, as per our pledge of last year.

I may have mentioned this before, but in case I didn’t I want to alert you to a new app for smart phones. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and hope that
you’ll check it out. The app can be found at http://www.wooftrax.com. It’s called “walking the dog”. Once you download it and install in on your phone, you can open the app each time you go out for a walk with your dog. It keeps track of your route, your distance walked, and your speed. Then the sponsors of the app make a donation to a shelter of your choice for every mile walked. Use the app and spread the word about it to any dog walkers you know. There probably isn’t a shelter in the country that doesn’t need more money

Tyb, Mom used that app on our hike Sunday, while Pop used out MapMyRide app. At the end, the Walking the Dog app had a much abbreviated version of our hike. Mom said that maybe it doesn’t work well on a hike in the state forrest, but would work if we were walking in a neighborhood.

Speaking of walking, Mom and I just got back from a late night walk on our pitch dark country roads. It was windy and we were walking past cornfields. The corn stalks were blowing and making lots of noise. Mom told me that she would have wet her pants out there in the scary dark if I weren’t with her. But she is never scarit when Meashka is on the job.
