Chet and Bernie Short Stories
It seems that some C&B readers aren’t aware of the e-short stories. There are 3 so far – A CAT WAS INVOLVED, THE IGGY CHRONICLES: VOLUME 1, and TAIL OF VENGEANCE (which is all about the Teitelbaum divorce). The cost: 99 cents.
Then there’s the how-to question. Here’s a response from Ms. Publicist:
“We’ve had some questions about how non e-readers can read the stories, too. The answer is: many ways! If you have an iPhone, Android, or any other smartphone — download the Kindle, Kobo, Nook or Apple iBooks apps and you can buy it through the app. You can also download Adobe Digital Editions (for free!), then download the ePub version of the book (why not from S&S?) and read it on your computer. You can even print it from your computer!”

Checkpoint Announcements!

Morning everyone.
Elliot – that was lovely music last night. It reminded us of the “care channel” at our local hospital. This is one of the channels available on the tv in each room – a channel with gentle changing scenes of nature, accompanied by a soft acoustic music. Very soothing and comforting when you feel bad.
We often wish we could get the channel at home. It is lovely background.

We also have a big ramp to get in the back of the car. It is actually Callie’s ramp, but she lets us use it.
And Wose – thanks for asking. Sage is feeling much better. Back to his old tricks of harassing us, harassing Mama, jumping on Basil when his back is turned and carousing with his catnip mousie up and down the hallway. He has to stay on his meds for another 8 days – heaven help us if he starts feeling even better than he does now…..

I have been working on reshelving my knitting and quilting patterns today. It is long hot confusing work. While I was upstairs on the other computer I received a donation to the booty fund. Whoo HOoo
Twenty dollars donated and then matched by one of our wonderful matchers. So now our total booty fund is 375 and we still have 165 dollars waiting to be matched. Remember folks you can donate the tiniest amount and it will be matched. Of course, if you are feeling flush, you can donate a larger amount too.

Barb – the stairs we got were very reasonable from Amazon. It was a long time ago that we got them, so we don’t remember the price. But we know it was reasonable cuz Mama is a cheapskate…..ummmm, make that: Mama makes practical and frugal decisions.
The stairs come in all different heights, but for the most part, they are simply plastic frames with a fitted cover – very lightweight and easy to move around.
We are sure Petco etc must carry them, but we would also check Amazon.
Wish we could go howl at the blood moon, but there is way too much cloud cover, and thunderstorms predicted. So we will be on dust bunny patrol under the bed.

Barb, it’s not the jumping up that’s the problem, it’s jumping down. It can cause the Achilles tendon to snap. Years ago I had a Yorkie and at that time it was a $2000 operation to fix. When you were here you saw that Loulou has steps in the living room. She doesn’t have any in the bedroom because I carry her into bed, we sleep all night, and then I carry her out in the morning. I got mine at Petco.
