Can I Pick ‘Em or What?

My tweet yesterday morning:   “Super Bowl pick? A horse could never catch a bird, that’s all I know.”

Welcome Morgan & Johnson (probably the first Johnson in the Friends gallery), Darrell.

Good morning all. Quite a night!

Hate to say it, but Alex is getting short changed. This is a short month and it is the 3rd already. I know it is The Year of the Horse, but come on, we want Alex.

We thought the half time show was really good. How about youse guys?

Also we saw and article on the 5 best and worst commercials. The Hereford bull was rated one of the worst. We didn’t think it was so bad. Radio Shack got high marks and the Subway spot advertising the frito covered southwest sandwich got really low ones.

Yes, Diane C, Thursday is the day of the big consultation. My sister is going with me. Wwe will be renting a car.

Where OTAS and GLAD live in NJ the PTB have closed many schools.
YSAS says the airports are closed. The snow is at 3 inches.

    Nothing here yet.

Rose, I hope someone stayed to help with clean up. The backsplash of beer from a pug can be very sticky.

Morning all. We had a good time at the party. Boy, that BSTOVER is as much of a card shark as Dawson. We were so busy over in the corner that we missed most of the commercials. We will have to look them up today.

Barb and Maggie, I did not care for the halftime show. But then, nobody at our house ever likes that part. Too contrived they say.
As for commercials, our favorite by far was the GoldiBlox commercial, followed by the Budweiser rescue doggie with the Clydesdale buddy.
It is snowing like crazy here. Dad says 6″ so far which usually means 8″ at least.

We thought the John Stamos Dannon yogurt commercial was a little too spicy for prime time. Although the very end when the guy sprayed the back of his boxers for a stain removal was pretty funny. Not saying that Stamos is not unbelievably attractive, but the commercial was a little suggestive for family time.

Also, Broadway Joe in his big puffy fur coat was a real turnoff for us. How many animals had to die for that? Very bad taste indeed, unless it was faux fur, which is highly unlikely.

Wose: Great party! I’ll come back with Darah and help clean up. Sorry I disappeared in a hurry but when Rio gets his mad face on, I vacate the premises. Plus I was covered in beer, head to toe.

Too bad the game was so lop-sided. The half-time show was not my cup of tea and the commercials were not worth (to me) watching hours of embarrassment for the losing team. The only good thing is that Nana’s team won and the party was excellent!

Kat: You get better looking every day!

That building is a pumphouse, with an old handpump we can use if we lose power and need water.
Speaking of…we just lost power. It is back now.
Then, we went out to have fun. We ran up to the top of the bank barn, and guess what we found???? A horse!!! with a rider!!! We took after that horse and they high-tailed it out and down our long land, with Meashka and me in close pursuit!!! That was so much fun. Why is Momma’s heart racing now?

  21. Kat
    11:56 am on February 3rd, 2014

long LANE, not land! altho, maybe it is the same?

  22. Barb & Maggie
    12:07 pm on February 3rd, 2014

Kat, what is a bank barn?

  23. Kat
    12:08 pm on February 3rd, 2014

A bank barn is a 2-story barn, where the top floor has a door that opens up onto a bank so you can drive big equipment in there for storage. We keep our horse trailer in there in winter, and there are several haywagons and other farm equipment.
They usually build them into a hill, but ours is not on a hill. It just has a manmade bank going up to the big door upstairs.

  24. Barb & Maggie
    12:11 pm on February 3rd, 2014

We just looked up some pictures Kat. Thanks for the explanation. They do not use that term around here, at least not that we are aware. Our first thought was a money bank, not a dirt bank, but now it makes sense.

Early doctor appointment for me. It has been snowing since last night, and it looks very pretty. Weather report say 4″-6″ but every time I turn on the news! there are different predictions. There is only one prediction I trust….WeatherKat!

Dawson and Darah, I appreciate the offer, but this might be difficult weather to blur in.

Melanie: OTAS looks like he’s having fun with his new toy.

I have new clothes for the Alaska trip. I finally received the snow pants I ordered and they fit! Okay, so they are an inch too long but they are not a foot too long (and the waist is comfortable) so I’m very happy. They are loose enough to put a couple layers underneath if needed. I also got a present from the man who lives in this house of some carhartts for wearing when I meet the dogs. They are not insulated and fit me like a glove (I prefer loose clothing) but they will do. I am not sure about them because they are cotton which according to Princess Sam and Mollypop’s and Loulou’s Mom is a no-no but they are perfect for rolling in the snow with the dogs and running back indoors.

    WhoooHooo! Go Snowhook!

Also, Dima had a very bad weekend. He was completely helpless, and had to be carried in and out. Today, he is back to normal, and has been playing with Kat and me in the very deep snow! Mom is so worrit about “next time” which she assures me there will be. She and I are not able to carry our boy.
Kat’s Godmom is going to loan us a Help ‘Em Up harness for the next time Dima is d-o-w-n.
