Cairo!
“So now we know the name of this brave member of the nation within who accompanied SEAL Team 6 on the bin Laden raid,” says Spence. “It’s Cairo.”
“Are we pronouncing that like Cairo, Egypt?” Bernie says. “Or Cairo, Illinois?”
“No idea,” says Admin. “And wasn’t it interesting when the subject was flooding between Cairo and New Madrid?”
“Why is that?”
“Because then we’ve got two places pronounced two ways, depending where you’re coming from.”
“Kind of confusing,” Spence says. “As Chet would say.”
I open my eyes. What’s this? Something about me?
“Do you think we should mention the Frisbees?” says Admin.
“Not yet,” says Spence.
Frisbees? I want to know now!

Greetings Spence, Admin., Bernie, and Chet!
Greetings to All!
What about those Frisbees?????
9:09 am on May 19th, 2011
I wonder if they will let us know any more about Cairo, the dog. The Seals are pretty sectretive.
Cairo, Illinois is where the Army Corpt of Eng. just destroyed some levies and flooded thousands of acres of farm fields. It was a choice of the fields or several towns which were on the verge of flooding. They were trying to go for the greater good, but it was a tough choice.
Off to work. Nice day here, finally.
9:21 am on May 19th, 2011
Good
nasty, freakingMorning All!I though maybe Frisbees were what the Navy SEALs called their dog unit.
It would certainly be a great name!
Googled it and nothing came up. Maybe it’s their secret name? Snicker
Okay, word to the wise! If you take thyroid medication do not take it at night by accident! Jeez Louise . . .
Guess what I did?
So how is Cairo, IL pronounced?
9:53 am on May 19th, 2011
So do I….I want to know now!!
Good morning all.
9:57 am on May 19th, 2011
Yes, how is Cairo, IL pronounced? And how is New Madrid pronounced the other way….and where is it?
What did you do Melanie? (All I’m doing is asking questions. Let’s see….do I have any more?)
10:06 am on May 19th, 2011
Hi B.Stover! At night, I take my pills out for that night and the next morning. I was not thinking and took my thyroid with my night pills.
Now all my docs have said, “You CAN’T feel the effects of the thyroid pill because it just builds up in your system.” Huh, right . . .
I slept fine for 4 hours and then was up for the rest of the night. (rolling eyes here)
I now have a doctor who just realizes that my body is weird and going to do what it does and does not listen to the prevailing “wisdom” of medicine.
We need MagPie to ask Barb how to pronounce Cairo.
10:20 am on May 19th, 2011
Melanie: I don’t suppose you’ll have time to take a nap during the day?
10:34 am on May 19th, 2011
We’ll see. I just talked to YSAS and he said, “Mom, you hyperactively exhausted.” I think he’s got it.
Turns out Zoë did this once too! So she knows how I feel.
I do acupuncture today. That should help.
10:47 am on May 19th, 2011
May!…. I can’t wait! Just 13 more days and ole Ians face will be off of this here blog….grump!
10:57 am on May 19th, 2011
Hi everyone – Mama has traveled the country alot – the Cairo in Illinois is pronounce KAY-ro
And the other one is New MAD-drid – the full word MAD is pronounced as opposed to the one in Spain which is Ma-DRID
(jeez, why does my brain retain all these facts when I can’t remember where I put my car keys???)
11:01 am on May 19th, 2011
Area 51!…. Melanie have you got to the part about Stalin and his crazy Nazi scientists yet?….heh!

Another “Silly Gilly” story for you:
Our backyard is full of tall trees and underbrush, so we have lots and lots of bird nests.
The other day, Gilly was in the yard barking her fool head off. Mama went out to see what was going on, and saw Gilly running in circles, obviously trying to herd SOMETHING.
Then Mama saw a little rustle movement in the undergrowth. Apparently a young bird had been “encouraged” out of the nest, and was still unsure about his wings. He would take little flutter flights across the ground – just about 4 or 5 feet. Gilly was doing her damdest to herd him towards the house with each flight – she never went too close to him or made any kind of move to use him as a chew toy, so Mama let her play herding dog. Finally the little birdie must have said to heck with it – flying CAN’T be as bad as being harassed by this stupid puppy. He took off in full flight, right over her head, up into the trees.
The look on Gilly’s face very clearly said “NO FAIR!!! Sheep aren’t supposed to fly!”
Yup – Gilly is weird…we love her to pieces, but she is weird.

Rio – so Ian’s picture will be gone.
What if the next winner is Alice M. Johnson and her hypnotic eyes?
What if it is Natasha in all her undercover glory?
Better be prepared little pug….sometimes the devil you know is better….

Good Morning Everyone! It is a beautiful day here too! Will get up to 70 degrees! Yay! Our weather guy said the other day, “What is that bright shiny thing up in the sky that is making me squint?”(lol)
Poor Dawson. Glad Staff was there! Welcome back Macy! Don’t feel bad about the posting prob – that stuff happens to me all the time. It is all a matter of perspective. That asparagus cake looks very yummy.
Rebecca: Happy to hear your sinus infection has improved. When Dawson gets home we know her calendar and surprise will make her day, as it did all of ours.
Just read over last nights posts. You guys really went into the Dark Side! But, all for a good cause. When one of us is in trouble, the Plunderers step up to assist.
Medications! Melanie & Zone, Nana would rather just not take them at all and has to remind herself when. She thinks, as a rule, they interfere with our dreams and have other bad side effects. Acupuncture is a big help-acupressure too.
Melanie, yes, it was “The Triplets of Belleville”, not Bellevue, which is a suburb of Seattle. T&G: Remembering the Wild, Wild West-a great show. Is it just me, or were those tv shows of yesteryear superior to those of today? Seems like a lot of fluff these days.
I want to know how Cairo is pronounced too! New Madrid? How else would you say it?
11:29 am on May 19th, 2011
Well, once again I posted questions when the answer was out there in cyberspace. (that’s how it happens, Rio) But, isn’t that the way it really is? The answer is always out there, but we are too occupied looking somewhere else to see it.
Zone! I meant Zoe, of course..
Interesting about the pronunciations. I figured out Cairo, but not Madrid.
Rio: Poor Ian! What if he is lurking? He won’t feel very welcome. We should all be happy for and gracious to all the winners. And, after all, he is a member of the nation within the nation-a part of us all.
11:31 am on May 19th, 2011
Tupper!… At least there will be a roll of the dice and someone new will be up there…grunt!… Alice always shows up on my screen anyways, nothing would be different there…sniff! … Did Natasha even post her photo on ‘Friends’?….grunt!

We have a town in Western New York – Chili. It’s pronounced ChEYE-LYE.
I’m leaving for Sam’s again. We just got back from all the graduation hoopla on Tuesday, but off we go again. This time it’s Sam’s Mom’s birthday.
Then tomorrow it’s off to the car dealer’s. We also have family coming here, where we won’t be, to try out the new Sky High Adventure thing where you get harnessed and go up in the trees with zip lines. Mom said this is where quantum physics comes in, to be in two different places at the same time. Mom will let them play in the tree tops and we should be back by the time they come back to the ground.
11:47 am on May 19th, 2011
Thanks T&G. Where is New Madrid?
Poor Gilly.
12:00 pm on May 19th, 2011
Ian!…. Ian is not ME and therefore I am not happy he won and not ME….grunt!… No he is not welcome if all he can do is lurk around in the shadows….growl! …I got out of my bed on a different side this morning….sniff!…Someone had turned me around last night when I was
snoringsleeping. She must have thought putting my face to the wall would help…heh! ….All it did was make me mighty grumpy this morning….gruffle!12:33 pm on May 19th, 2011
I like seeing Ian every day but it wouldn’t hurt my feelings to see the Dawson Quilt Square up there either.
Macy MinPin: Your boobatoma (snort!) beats my little ol’ bruise by a kilometer! Glad you’re back on the blog.
Rio: Maybe take a nap and then get out on the right side of the bed.
12:33 pm on May 19th, 2011
So, I guess Cairo, Illnois, is pronounced like the syrup. There is no way of knowing how the name of our hero, the Navy Seal dog, is pronounced.
There is a Madrid, NM, but it is pronounced differently than Madrid, Spain. It was almost a ghost town but has become a town known for its artists. They filmed part of a movie there, a comedy. Tim Allen was in it. I can’t remember the title of it because it wasn’t a very good movie.
I hope Ian got his signed copy of the book.
12:47 pm on May 19th, 2011
SH: Inquiring minds Google everything. The film was WILD HOGS.
12:53 pm on May 19th, 2011
Thanks Rose. That’s the name of it.
1:00 pm on May 19th, 2011
SiberH!… Have you heard any news about Breaking Bad….snort!….That show still hasn’t come on this season….grunt!
1:01 pm on May 19th, 2011
New Madrid is in Missouri 42 miles from Cairo, IL and it is known as the New Madrid Seismic Zone. (It had over 1000 earthquakes in 1811 and 1812.) It’s also known for a Civil War battle.
1:02 pm on May 19th, 2011
Happy Birthday Sam’s mom. Have a good trip Mollypop.
1:30 pm on May 19th, 2011
Rio, I haven’t heard anything new except they had that charity softball game a couple of weekends ago here. They must be filming new episodes here now because the cast, or at least some of them, were at that softball game.
1:35 pm on May 19th, 2011
Siber-H: You’re right about that. Wild Hogs wasn’t a very good movie. Too bad – a lot of talented actors embarrassing themselves and annoying the rest of us.
B: 1000 earthquakes is a lot of earthquakes within a years time!
A very Happy Birthday to Sam’s mom!
1:38 pm on May 19th, 2011
SiberH — My dad remembers Madrid very well (apparently pronounced the same as the place in Missouri). He would refer to it as a retro-hippie colony as well, although there is a great restauarant there called The Mine Shaft Tavern, which describes itself as one of the last great roadhouses in all of the U.S. Madrid is on something called The Turquoise Trail, which is a back road, more scenic way to get from Albuquerque to Santa Fe (although it does go past the NM State Prison, with the great warning sign about not picking up hitch hikers). I wonder if T&G’s mom remembers Madrid as well. Wookie
1:41 pm on May 19th, 2011
Rio, There may be some video of that softball game on youtube. I have heard rumors of that, but I wouldn’t know how to find it. The cast of Breaking Bad evidentally played against the cast of “In Plain Sight” which is also filmed here. Brad Cranston of Breaking Bad is the one who organized the game. I don’t know who he is, but you will.
a warning…I am relying on my memory for all of this.
1:44 pm on May 19th, 2011
MollyPop: I can hardly wrap my mind around that pronunciation of Chili. We have some Indian names around here that are very tricky too.
Barb&Maggie: When you come back later tell us again about Lilly’s B-Day present. On today’s Martha Stewart website a salad table was featured. It looks like the same thing. Did you buy yours or was it handmade?
Rose: You are so right about Google. I also like Ask.com, which used to be known as Ask Jeeves. As in, if you want to know something, just ask!
1:49 pm on May 19th, 2011
I’m back! Acupuncture was fine. The bulldozer is coming Tuesday!
Making the area level for the pool is bulldozer work, not human work.
Just caught up on last night’s blog.
HI MACY! Did you guys get an “In & Out” burger joint near you?
And OW!
Also OW to Dawson.
Hope you both feel better.
Bella, glad you are feeling better.
Riö: I have just gotten to the point where Our Secret People have discovered that perhaps they picked the wrong scientists and are trying to find the brothers that Stalin took.
1:50 pm on May 19th, 2011
Wookie, I’m agreeing with you aboout the retro-hippie colony. Madrid is suppose to have a beautiful display of lights at Christmas. It is, for sure, the most scenic route to take between Albuq. and Santa Fe.
2:14 pm on May 19th, 2011
Worcester, MA pronounced Woost’-er (as in we live West of Woost’-er)
Once one of the canidates for MA governor, said, “I’ve been through the entire state from Boston to Worcester.”
Two things wrong here. First he pronounced Worcester wrong.
Second? Worcester is in the middle of the state.
He didn’t win a lot of votes out this way.
2:23 pm on May 19th, 2011
Softball!… I found it on You Tube SiberH!….snort!….Thanks for the heads up….honk!
2:23 pm on May 19th, 2011
Bear: Apparently the New Madrid fault line is “intraplate”–within tectonic plates. One of the 1811-12 earthquakes was magnitude 8. Here’s the link. Also click on the New Madrid Seismic Zone link. Studies show that earthquakes in that area date back to 2350 BCE.

Wookie – we sure do remember the signs warning not to pick up hitchhikers. We used to think they were kind of funny, but then last year, driving from Flagstaff to Gallup was a little spooky. There was a pair of sociopath escapees rumored to be traveling along that stretch of I-40. These were really, really bad guys…horror movie caliber bad guys. There were cops at the rest areas checking people out, and warning them about strangers. We thought we were ok when we stopped at a tourist attraction/concenience store for restrooms and beverages. Until we were in the store, and watched the owner pull a shotgun out everytime a car pulled into the lot. He would wait until he saw people getting out and if they looked “normal” and unstressed, he put the gun back under the counter. He saw us looking at him, and said that cops were only minutes away, but shotgun spray was even faster. Yikes.
Glad they caught the bad guys a few days later, before we had to go thru that section again.
3:14 pm on May 19th, 2011
Yikes!!! I remember that.
3:29 pm on May 19th, 2011
Tupper!….You and Gilly sure do lead exciting lives…heh!….I bet they could make a reality show about you guys….snort!
3:33 pm on May 19th, 2011
B: Thanks for that link. Interestingly enough, it mentions Madrid, Missouri is 42 mi SW of Cairo, Illinois. Looks like they are pronouncing that one Maedred.
T&G: That is a scary story about the escapees! Remember that movie-The Hitchhiker with Rutger Hauer? Many years ago, before all the warnings, we picked up one while on vacation thinking he was a stranded truck driver. We were so relieved to drop him off at the nearest town. Shudders just thinking about it! Thank DOG we are here today to tell the tale.
3:48 pm on May 19th, 2011
Commercial!….I can just hear the commercial for The Tup and Gilly Show….snort!…. “Spend hours of fun watching Gilly squatting in the rain with her eyes crossed. Watch transfixed as she herds small birds around in circles. Don’t miss the winter antics of Tupper sliding down the hill on her generous bum. The time they drove through New Mexico will grip you with fear as the two heroic Corgis face off with Sociopaths on the loose! All this excitement and more!! So don’t miss the The Tup and Gilly Show! Shown only in selected areas of the deep back woods of Kentucky and parts of Tennessee.”
4:02 pm on May 19th, 2011
Stupid politics! We were listening to NPR on the way to Sam’s and a political debate came on. The same people over and over We can’t escape this. Bwa ha ha.
It seems the Republicans didn’t know they were losing until Rachel Maddow told them. Then John Boehner came, then Carl Rove (shudder) sent $654,000. The commercials run non-stop. We can’t take it!
4:24 pm on May 19th, 2011
Molly!…Why are you the only one being bombarded with political commercials?….snort!…Are you sure it’s not sumthing Natasha brewed up to drive you bonkers?…gruffle!
4:47 pm on May 19th, 2011
Rio – we think our show sounds a whole lot better than, say…
Snorting Pugs duke it out over baseball toys, or
Chorkle this – pudgie pug gets dragged along for a walk, or
Gruffle, snort, yeep and heh! – Learning the language of Pugdom.
And get your facts straight there, Commander Rio- GILLY slid down the hill on her trim, adorable little Corgi butt. Tupper would never deign to do something so, so….ummm., let’s see…so COMMON!
Face it Pug – excitement is our middle name!
So there!

I spose YOU live in the Heights of Metropolis, right?
4:52 pm on May 19th, 2011
Tuppence!….I didn’t even suggest a show about Pugs…heh!snort! ….Although, I do like the idea of a show based on learning the language, sounds and sometimes extreme smells of Pugdom….sniff!
4:53 pm on May 19th, 2011
Learning!…..Her mother has been learning a lot about these things lately….snort! heh!
5:00 pm on May 19th, 2011
Melanie, the In and Out burger place is about an hour away from us, and you have to go through *shudder* Dallas to get there. 2 or 3 more are opening in the summer, but none really close. We will wait until the 2 hour lines settle down before we give it a try.
SiberH – was that outlaw thing about the people who were killed at a campground?
5:03 pm on May 19th, 2011
Oh, Mr. Redbone, have you ever heard the expression “Don’t poke the bear”? Run, save yourself while you still can.
5:07 pm on May 19th, 2011
Miz Macy – I would poke a gorilla if you needed me to defend your honor. Ain’t no little runty pug gonna make cracks about my home.
5:10 pm on May 19th, 2011
Ooooo, I do love a big strong hound-dog! And I would never disparage your lovely state. (mom says it is lovely and she never lies)

5:27 pm on May 19th, 2011
Grunt!…Oh brother…sniff!
5:36 pm on May 19th, 2011
Macy, yes it was. Those two guys and one woman kidnapped and murdered that older tourist couple in the eastern part of the state on I-40. This must have made the news in Texas.
5:44 pm on May 19th, 2011
Have been at work all day, with no time to post, so we are behind on our reading.
Cairo, IL, is pronounce like the syrup as Siber said. I think the Madrid they mentioned is the Madrid Fault line that runs thru Cairo and down into Missouri. That is not pronounced like Madrid Spain, either. What do you expect from people from southern Illinois and Missouri? They pronounce their state “Mazura”.
5:53 pm on May 19th, 2011
Bear, Barb had the neighbor college boy build Lily’s garden (salad box), while he was building a new pen in the barn. We used 2 x 6 framing (about 48″ long and 34″ wide) and some wire hardware screen for the bottom. Then we put fiber cloth down before putting the soil mixture in. What did Martha have to say about it? Are they expensive to buy? Sorry we missed that.
6:02 pm on May 19th, 2011
Rio: I like it! The Tup & Gilly Show. It would have to be on radio so we’d get to use our imagination.
Redbone: A true Southern Gentleman!
6:15 pm on May 19th, 2011
Back to the topic of Friend of the Month… How about ME?? Pretty sure I’m cute enough, but am I lucky enough?
6:16 pm on May 19th, 2011
Mr. Husky, the murders took place while mom and dad were vacationing in NM and the names and ages of the couple killed were identical to people they knew. Sorry that anyone had to die, but glad it was not our Linda and Gary Haas.
6:28 pm on May 19th, 2011
Yikes!!! Wow, Macy. I imagine that was scary till you found out your friends were okay. In New Mexico’s defense, they were escapees from a prison in Arizona.
It is strange that T&G were also in the state at that time.
6:37 pm on May 19th, 2011
I got a cake just for Maggie, but maybe she will share.

6:37 pm on May 19th, 2011
well shoot, I will try again later
6:38 pm on May 19th, 2011
CupCake! I agree you are very cute and a gal of few words. Just remember-Some Lucky Dog’s Got to Win It! As Clint would say, “Do you feel lucky?”
Macy: What year was this? No doubt a movie has been made of it.
Barb&Maggie: Martha has a charming little video to show us all how easy it is to make the Salad Table. Easy for her to say!

Friend of the Month: Rio, you were saying? I just saw Alice up at the top of the page. Could this be a premonition of things to come?
Rats! I forgot what I was going to say!
6:56 pm on May 19th, 2011
Thanks, Bear. I DO feel lucky, actually. Fingers (paw toes) crossed.
7:25 pm on May 19th, 2011
Tupper and Gillie show or Snorting Pugs . . . What a choice . . .
A So’thern gen’leman, I can just hear your accent!
7:49 pm on May 19th, 2011
Zoë is also reading “Area 51”. She was just reading the part where the two scientists split the atom and people realized that a chain reaction could happen.
She went to the University of Chicago and had Biology Lab in Stag Stadium where the first chain reaction took place. They had cleaned everything up (we hope) by the time she was there.
Dan spilt a plate of beans (he was a waiter) on Fermi, one of the main atomic scientists, while Dan was going to school at University of Chicago.
We don’t know if the premise of the book is real, the author has done a lot of research, we just know that it is fun.
Whew, I’m signing off now. Four hours of sleep was not enough.
8:05 pm on May 19th, 2011
O-K, here is Maggie’s cake. Maybe she will share.
8:15 pm on May 19th, 2011
OMG!….That cake looks like something from Area 51!….grunt!… I think I will vote for the Asparagus Cake before this alien looking thing…gah!gag!
Alice!…If Alice wins next month I will be beside myself and unbearable all month long…grump!…Paws crossed that this anomaly does not ever happen…grunt!
8:27 pm on May 19th, 2011
Melanie: Annie Jacobsen is a journalist so I’m assuming “Area 51” has been well researched and is fact based. In the interview Tuesday on NPR she was talking about an experiment that was trying to blow a hole in the ozone layer using a hydrogen bomb. This was related to testing for defense purposes. Unfortunately, my library doesn’t have this book and I’m anxious to read it, so will check Amazon.
Barb: My Martha Stewart.com link didn’t go directly to the salad table page, but if you type in “salad table” in the search it will come up. She also mentions a Salad Box, which is what you gave Lily.
Melanie: So…Dan spilled the beans, so to speak (snicker)
8:31 pm on May 19th, 2011
Journalist!….That’s why we are actually interested in the book because there is a real Investigative Journalist writing this stuff…snort!… It holds more weight than some of the other stuff that has come out over the years….sniff!…We have not actually bought the book yet, but she is very interested in it…gruff!
8:35 pm on May 19th, 2011
Er, Macy, that cake is rather gruesome – my stomach is turning. Rio is right – just stick with the Asparagus Cake. Going now to upchuck…
8:36 pm on May 19th, 2011
Dan! How did Fermi take beans being spilt on him? Inquiring minds want to know.
Macy! What the h— is that? As appetizing as that asparagus cake looked yesterday…this one looks the opposite.
Hi Redbone Hound: I like Tennessee, Kentucky, hounddogs and red hair. Welcome.
Hi cupcake: You’re sweet to look at…

BSD, We tried and couldn’t bring up the directions. Will try again later with the new directions. Thanks.
T & G You have much more finesse with your herding ability than I do, especially when it comes to anything feathered. My basic technique is chase, pounce, hold. This is very effective, but for some reason Barb is not overly fond of it. That lady can scream!
8:56 pm on May 19th, 2011
Rio said…
“Alice!…If Alice wins next month I will be beside myself and unbearable all month long…grump!…Paws crossed that this anomaly does not ever happen…grunt!”
So, Rio, How will that be different from how you are THIS month??? Heh heh heh. Maybe I will have Staff put up a few more pictures of me.

Rockies Won!!! If I lived in Denver, I could get my tacos tomorrow. (if mom would let me have them…probably not)
Macy, I am very glad your mom called the doctor today.
10:12 pm on May 19th, 2011
I’m passing time at the laundry mat tonight with bruises and baseball—and one very happy pug.
Macy: make sure your mom follows doctor’s orders.
10:22 pm on May 19th, 2011
Tacos!….We never get any of those free tacos either SiberH!…grump!…She doesn’t like ‘fast food’ no matter if its free or not…snuff! ….What a great night! ….Woooo!…I can’t help thinking the Rocks have taken a turn in their confidence and are now going to RUN! Full straight ahead …heh! WOOOOOO….

Rio: I will check when I get home. Glad you and your friend enjoyed a win tonight—free food or no.
10:27 pm on May 19th, 2011
Bella, I think that the marauding goats got my surprise. It could have come by camel by now. Then again, I am somewhat impatient.
10:32 pm on May 19th, 2011
Oh my dawg – we don’t know which one is worse, the cake or the bruise. akkkk akkkk akkkkk – and Rio says hairballs are icky!!
Macy – get thee to the pharmacy and get thee some arnica gel and arnica pills. NOW!
Take 5 pills at a time, 4 times a day. They are little itty bitty tiny pills that you put under your tongue and let dissolve. They taste nice and sweet.
Arnica is not just a homeopathic, wholistic type of curative. Mama had surgery last year, and her surgeon had her start the arnica two weeks before the surgery, and keep it up for two weeks after. The bruising went away very quickly, the healing was speeded up, and once the stitches came out, the surgeon had her using the arnica gel. It just helps the bruises go away faster and with less pain. We still use the gel around here for any bumps and bruises.

crap – moderated again!
Macy – one word – arnica. Explanation will appear once the freakin moderator gets his butt in gear.

Goats!…I don’t know if Rebecca is familiar with the Marauding Goats which plague us ….grunt!… They seek only to destroy important mail and packages which we are waiting on…sniff!…They are notorious and ruthless in their means of destroying precious gifts sent through the mail….gasp!….Be on the look-out at all times for the Marauding Mail Goats….wuffle! …I doubt they inhabit Alaska though, so you are probably safe Rebecca…heh!
10:41 pm on May 19th, 2011
Rebecca, You should be aware that Rio is the one the goats single out for marauding. None of the rest of us have this problem. At least we kats don’t. Rio does not lie. He is a trifle impatient.
Just a bit.
Now and then.
Heh heh heh heh heh.
Good thing he is not a Twins fan. (sob sob sob)
10:44 pm on May 19th, 2011
The Twins play the Snakes tomorrow. Hopefully we will continue our one game winning streak. sniff sob sniff
10:46 pm on May 19th, 2011
We are stating for the record that we hate moderators! You would think that we were dangerous MMG’s (marauding mail goats). Sheesh, Nattie doesn’t get moderated and she’s a freakin SPY! Rio doesn’t get moderated and he’s a grumblebutt! Macy’s mom shows her ….ummm…her….let’s see…she shows her “personality” (as in that girl’s got GREAT personality) and she doesn’t get moderated. We are just a couple of harmless kitty kats and we get freakin moderated.
To heck with it – we’re gonna go catch mice!
10:53 pm on May 19th, 2011
The maurading goats almost got my Christmas toffee last year, and Gus and BooBears.
Herbs, I’ve had comments go into moderation and never show up…lost in siberspace.
10:54 pm on May 19th, 2011
Alice!…heh!…You are actually making me laugh out loud…snort!…And I never laugh out loud…sniff! ….”Our one game winning streak!”….chorkle!….Now that is hilarious in so many different ways….wuffle!
Goats!…Rebbeca will have to deal with the Marauding Goats big time during the after-math of the Silent Auction….sniff!…Be forewarned!!!!….huffle!
11:01 pm on May 19th, 2011
I googled arnica…sounds promising.
11:05 pm on May 19th, 2011
SiberH!…Why are you still up and what is Arnica?…snort!…Now that you’ve Googled It…heh!
11:05 pm on May 19th, 2011
Arnica in a nutshell. You can take tablets and use gel and it helps bruises go away much faster.
There you stinking moderator – take that!
11:07 pm on May 19th, 2011
night everyone
11:09 pm on May 19th, 2011
I’m still here, Rio, but fading fast. T&G already answered your question. Mom says she would try arnica on that bruise.
11:10 pm on May 19th, 2011
Wow!….Tupper answered my question at the same time I asked it….heh!…Weird.
11:13 pm on May 19th, 2011
That’s right Rio – we have magical powers…you better be nice to us from now on.
tee hee

Macy – check your secret decoding device. The Kats moderated message has officially disappeared into outer space.

Bruises!…. My friend is always bumping the back of her hands on sharp edges….grunt!…Lord knows why or how…sniff!….But her bruises go away pretty quickly except for that time a Great Dane attacked her at Pet Smart a couple of years ago….grump!…Now that was a Bruise for all Bruises…sniff!…It was in between her shoulder and elbow….yeep!…She had her heavy coat on, but thinks that guy saw his reflection in her sunglasses and sprang for her….gulp!…Luckily I was not there or I would have taken that guy out really quickly…grump! growl!…grrrrrrr!
11:21 pm on May 19th, 2011
Dear Rio,

I am so glad that my Twins and I are cheering you up. Snort!
11:27 pm on May 19th, 2011
Alice- we have to say, your friends are great photographers! Your pictures are always lovely. When Mama tries to get our pictures, our eyes get all green and wierd looking.
11:28 pm on May 19th, 2011
Thanks—I consider myself on alert for Marauding Goats. I certainly don’t think they spend the winter months this far norht, but may decide that the summers are mild.
We do have a couple of yearlings that seem to have a marauding nature all their own—perhaps they were comissioned by said goats…
11:34 pm on May 19th, 2011
Night!…I’m going to try to jump over the high back of my bed now…grump!…It is still turned towards the wall…sniff!….As if that will help with noise or smells …huffle!
11:37 pm on May 19th, 2011
Alice!…I still have my special sunglasses, so your hypnotising eyes have not power over me…snorkel!…Molly, take a note, please order more special sunglasses for the new Agents…grunt!…ASAP!…Now, Goodnight!
11:40 pm on May 19th, 2011
Hi Rebecca – sorry to leave just as you are getting here, but we have an early day tomorrow and here on the east coast, its a lot later than where you are.
Really happy to hear that you are feeling better. We can’t wait for summer to actually be here – so tired of being cold.
(we would NOT make good candidates for your kennel – we would be busy trying to crawl under Whitey-Lance, and Twig and Orion and …well, you get the picture.
G’night all
11:40 pm on May 19th, 2011
Tupper and Gilly. Staff says I am a ‘natural’, whatever that means. I like to stare at her. That is sort of odd in a kat, but I am just that way.
Goodnight all. sleep well.

Barb has her incubator set up on the counter in the laundry room and it is chirping so loudly we can hear it in the living room. It is driving me crazy. There are 30 eggs in there and some of them are pipping tonight. She is doing this for her friend Kim (Marauding Goat Lady) becasuse Kim doesn’t have good luck hatching. Barb is like a little mother hen. We have some of the eggs from our chickens in there too, and it is fun to see what they look like. Will give you an update in the morning.
Good night all.
11:56 pm on May 19th, 2011
OMG! Rio! That story with the Great Dane seeing his reflection in your friend’s sunglasses is too funny! Laughing out loud here. Well, guys, looks like we are ending the day with tears of laughter, Marauding Goats and Great Danes reflected in sunglasses. So glad I stopped by to say Good Night! 🙂 Bear
