Buzzards Bay

Had my first swim of 2022 yesterday. Why so late? I have no idea, but will do better in 2023.

    Greetings!

Wondering if Buzzards Bay might be a nice place to stay for a few days…The beach looks pretty. Grizz and I have talked about going to Cape Cod. OFA…Any suggestions as to where to visit on the Cape?

    Good Friday to all!

I had a trip to the vet where I suffered many indignities and was shorn like a sheep! I am not happy with my attendant and went next door to see if neighbor has left out food…

All I know is that it cost $609 for an exam, blood work and a sedated shave with monitoring–to end up with an ungrateful kitty. They did offer to do it without sedation but I said, “no, you do not want to do that.” The groomer says she was excited about doing a lion shave.

Mr. Big will come around once I serve up the salmon as a peace offering.

Hobbit! What did TLK think of Mr Big’s new look?

Oh, my. Mr. Big is now more like Mr. Rat. Cat version of a Chinese Crested. I’m sure he’ll appreciate the salmon and will just have to get used to avoiding mirrors. He’ll be grateful in the end.

My Caesar used t lick himself into horrible hair balls when the Spring shedding commenced (I have to wonder now if he had seasonal allergies like Diana.) I started to take him to a groomer and have his entire body shaved except for his head and tail. He used to be so grateful for that. He would come out of the groomers smiling and bouncing, feeling great. I’m sure the matting pinched something awful and he just made it worse. I tried to keep ahead of it but I was cutting them off daily and the next day he would have more, so finally a good shave solved the problem. Did it yearly until he passed. He was such a good dog. My Forever dog. If I knew then what I know now and they had had the resources. A lovely arthritic bed for him, antihistamines and medicated shampoos. I also would have gone an demanded the vet hospital give him to me after his diagnosis instead of allowing them to keep him over night. My biggest regret and I will live with the guilt the rest of my life.

When you’re retired every day is Bring Your Dog Everywhere day.

It is also cream tea day. I think I have a cream scone mix somewhere in the kitchen, although the high today is supposed to be 85 and I really have no desire to set foot in the kitchen, let alone turn the oven on. Microwave is as far as I’ll go but I may dn up with a sandwich for dinner.

And it’s still Midsummer. May this be heat peak and the second half of summer be much more temperate.

Mr. Big looks very handsome in his new haircut. I got a short haircut too, but dam! cost a lot less than Mr. Big’s. No sense having long hair in this heat!

I had a cream scone with currants today at the Senior’s showing of Downton Abbey with high tea. Plus little sandwiches and all sorts of goodies. Delish! All for $5. Oh, and popcorn, goes without saying. Burp!

The Little Kitty did not recognize Mr. Big.
Dawson: you got quite the deal for only $5! Now I want popcorn.
I have been so busy. Too busy.
It will probably be Sunday before I check in again.
