Good morning all–
I’m hoping there will be more updates of Rick’s (improving) progress as the day unfolds.
Love the M. Vick as vick-tim photo and will be sharing it widely.
Everyone have a splendid Saturday, catch up on sleep as needed (and don’t overdo on anything), and travel safely.
Miss Pretty has more allergies, but is being VERY good about her eyedrops.
Does anyone here recall a movie called Babette’s Feast? Caught it on TV yesterday and still loved (albeit with mixed feelings from the veg. end).

Sorry to hear that Rick is back in the hospital, but maybe he will be more comfortable there for a few days. Hopefully ML can catch up on her sleep.
Jill Rappaport just did a special segment on Today Show on the Black Dog Syndrome. She is a animal advocate and special correspondent for NBC. Emily Lou Harris also had a spot on the segment. She is a CW singer and has a animal rescue place in Tenn.(?) for dogs, especially black ones.

Good Morning y’all.
I had to laugh at MPM saying it was past her bedtime. Heck, it was nearly morning EDT. A good reason to stay a week? It takes a couple of days just to figure out where the heck you are, time-wise.
Thanks to all smoochers. I haven’t talked to the patient yet, but I am sure they were top notch. I think we are going to have issues with this room, so hopefully the stay will be extra short. The shower is a bathtub combo deal and I do not think he can raise his legs high enough to get in. BIG minus for me is no comfy chair. Can’t really complain though. Our girl Angie pulled some strings to get this oncology room. There was a non-cancer patient in it, so she was moved to the medical wing. At that point the only other room was in maternity. I am going to take my time getting there today and let the professionals deal with the pillow obsession.

MPM, Glad to hear you safely landed and got something substantial to eat upon arrival.
Barb had lunch with her friend Kim yesterday while in Freeport for her tax appointment. Kim’s elderly dad lives with them and has dementia. While traveling with him last week he thought they were in an airplane and kept worrying that the gas stations wouldn’t have enough jet fuel. Then he fell in the restaurant parking lot and had cuts and bruises all over his face and hands. At night we woke her up every few minutes, needing a glass of waa-waa or having to go potty, or to tell her that a stranger had just come in and stolen their refrigerator or turned the heat off. Made her realize taking care of Sammy for a week ain’t so bad!

So far we have 2 quotes on wallpapering labor – $500 and $480. Getting one more this morning, but it is looking like Barb will be doing it herself. It is one a 1 day job for a professional hanger – 10 hours would be $50 per hour, 8 hours would be $62.50 per hour. Who knew they made that much money!

Good morning. It’s 6 o’clock here in the hobbit hotel. I’m waiting to hear some stirring from other hotel customers. There is one other customer here along with me besides our wonderful manager.
Many thanks to the RioMas airlines for their great tracking of my flight. Then came the hobbit hotel airport pick up and food delivery system. The delicious flank steak was quite a welcome surprise.

HOH, Barb has probably hung well over a thousand rolls of wallpaper in her life (who knew!), but she really didn’t want to be climbing on a ladder or worse yet, getting down on the floor, reaching behind the toilet. Looks like she will have to suck it up and do it, since she isn’t made of money.

ML, When Barb bought this house the 2 bathrooms had paper and border that is from 1999, when the house was built. It is supposed to look like faux painting with a pink, blue and white brush-stroke paint effect. Not attractive. The rest of the house is redone, except for the dreaded bathrooms. Same thing happens here, as at your house, when the “furniture” is sat upon.

Sirens!….The consensus is they were probably Testing the sirens – getting ready for the wicked Spring Weather and all that baloney…snort!
Outside!….We’ve all been outside watching my friend repair birdhouses. there was some major damage due to high winds and being blown off he patio…grunt!…Everything is glued together again and drying. Now its getting all windy and chilly out again…sniff!….Time to come in and find a good spot to rest.

Still having a great day. Will post more later. Snowhook was great–meeting the dogs and having a sled dog mushing experience. I can report that the Plunderer litter looks great and seems to have recovered. Melanie is such a sweet puppy; Amalia seemed rather shy but of all the puppies she was affected more from being ill and having to have 6 pills twice a day. Yeep. I fell in love with Belle Starr and Luna is the alpba mama as Rebecca has said.
