Boys of Summer – Adieu For Now
“Well,” Bernie says, “fourteen weeks till pitchers and catchers.” That means baseball is over for another year. Bernie’s always a bit sad for a day or so after that happens. We don’t actually go to any games or watch on TV, but we listen on the radio a lot. The sound of baseball while we’re driving is nice – love Vin Scully’s voice – although I couldn’t tell you what’s going on. That’s all right. Bernie says lots of Americans don’t really understand what’s going on, and hardly anyone understands completely, even the professional players, managers and umpires. “Let’s start with the balk rule,” he says. “Who can explain all the ways to balk?” Beats me.
Bernie’s reading a book about umpires called “As They See ‘Em,” and says it’s real good. Bernie pitched for Army till his arm blew out, but his arm still looks pretty strong to me.
Still waiting for DNA results.

Struggling young actor son in NYC had to travel upstream to work. The stream was the fans getting to the parade!
Asked SYAS if he wore his Red Sox hat, but he said, no, NOT today!

DNA results always take a long time…. except…. on soap operas.

Or if you're trying to find out what kind of dog you have. I'm told that that doesn't take very long. I'm not spending that money right now, but that's what I hear…

I don't think I would spend money for doggie DNA either. Someone told me it was about $45. Not sure. My $45 was better spent on Abby's ID chip and for batteries for her collar. Abby will remain my DODO – mysterious Dog of Dubious Origin. She sure looks like a Schnauzer to me.

Awwww… Melanie.. too cute about your SYAS and his Red Sox ball cap. My hubby always wants to go to a church in Great Barrington, MA, to stand in front of the outdoor message board. I've seen messages, such as: "Red Sox Nation."
Heck….Chet has a Nation, right? Go for it!!!
Myself, I'm 100% Yankee. I suppose Chet is a Red Sox fan, eh?
