Good morning, everyone! The WOOF interactive page is GREAT! Did Dawson say eyebrows have been found? Have a safe and sane weekend!

    Greetings!

Woke up to a beautiful day here in this neck of the woods!

Junior: I read your post from yesterday…I would like to volunteer my services for your mission to get your eyebrows back.

    More goats…

Rose, cute piece by Gersch. Personally, I love goats!

Funny school visit by Bowser. Hope he enjoyed the chalk.

T & G and Rose, did you ever get the storms last night? Here we are having a beautiful, somewhat cool day.

Everyone, enjoy your holiday! And Happy Fourth a little early!

Loved the episode but the “chats” of the users don’t make much sense to me. Is that what kids do now?

    Good morning all.

Bee – thanks for saying that. We thought it was us.

No storms. Nada. And today was supposed to be pure sun and summer. What do we have – blowing wind, partly cloudy and cool.

How DO weather forecasters keep their jobs?

Diane: The origin of the term “patsy” to mean scapegoat is not known. It is American slang and an online entomology dictionary suggests that it is derived from Italian “pazzo” meaning madman, or Old Italian “paccio” meaning fool. Another source suggests that it is based on a vaudeville character, Patsy Bolivar, who was easily deceived.

I just looked up “duped” in the dictionary and its origin may be Old French “huppe” or the hoopoe because of the “bird’s stupid appearance.” Now, I’ll have to check that out.

Good morning, everyone. Yesterday was my BIG DAY. Momma and Dad came home and announced that they would be home with me and the rest of the Pack furever and ever! Momma and I danced and danced and danced. What a fabulous Kat Birthday weekend this will be!
Dawson! Momma says thanks for remembering…her last day was actually Friday.
About the blog: we find it difficult to keep up on everyone’s stories because we do not like to spend too much time on the computer, especially now that Momma does not want to log us in any more. We find facebook easier, because we can just post a quick update, or see what is posted currently, and we don’t have that need (real or imagined) to read thru all of the past days’ posts so we don’t miss anything important. (Facebook keeps most important stuff up top.)
Please understand that, even if we seldom post, we do love you all and will eventually check in.
Now, I’m off to party my birthday away! Later Gators!

I think the Hoopoe is rather beautiful. (I know the name from an episode of Midsomer Murders, “Rare Bird”.) It’s not an American bird and the French word means “crested.” Here’s a link to the Wikipedia article:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoopoe

Tupper and Gilly: You’re welcome. It makes me wonder about English language usage and the younger generations.

Happy Holiday weekend! Lots to do but not alot of pressure to get it done!

Mom does check FB but doesn’t feel the link there that she has found with the blog. Like the Howlers said, it seems a much more “quick ” checkin. She prefers the more personal blog but recognizes that it is more time consuming to keep up with. Howlers have a very busy social and outdoor life, but we will miss them posting like they used to.

    dew drops

I was amazed at a lot of the fun technology on the chat comments on Woof’s interactive blog. If you scroll down to the last one the young girl has a story about how her dog would act if she went off to school…good writing! The colorful rest of the posts are about their beliefs, the characters from books that they agree with and they did it with different colors and fonts. Pretty, but to my older eyes sort of hard to read. LOL

HRH B, we’ve loved your research today and thought of Chet’s “wild goose chase”.

Grizz and I did some mall walking this afternoon.

BMAL: We had some heavy rain last night, nothing really as extreme as was forecast. (Whispering) I think those goats are cute too.

Kat: Happiest of birthdays to you, and congratulations to your mom and pop!

Question: Have any of you read “The Goldfinch” by Donna Tartt? Did you like it? I had it in my hand in the bookstore, but choked and put it back.

Chair!…When my friend bought this Old House going on 12 years ago she inherited an old metal patio chair from the previous owner (deceased on the stairway from a stroke)…yeeep!…The chair received a new life today. My friend painted it (spray painted) a brilliant reddish-maroon color. Sadly it has been a weak shade of gray all it’s life before now…heh!..It is a colorful beauty and is stinking up the basement because someone had to quickly bring it inside before the nightly rainstorm…gasp!wheeze!

Okay!…Enough about John Galt already, except for this. As I finally finished the updated three part work I was so moved again that we here have become complacent. It was incredibly good by the way, the updated version. My friend’s recollection of the actual book is not there in detail, so this new version did not upset her, thank goodness. The only thing that was weird was there were three full sets of new actors on each version. A small thing really…heh!

A speech we should all hear especially in these trying times:

“In the name of the best within you, do not sacrifice your sense of life to an enemy that would claim your precious mind. Do not let your fire go out spark by irreplaceable spark. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserve, but have been never been able to reach… The world you desire can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.”
    – John Galt

Hmmm. The world is mine you say? Well if it is I wish it would do the housecleaning. I am exhaused! We spent the day vacuuming, sweeping, dusting and washing. And cooking vegetable beef soup from soup bones. Yesh! Here is what we found under the love seat…

Low!…We are at a new low tonight. I think i found the blog when 19 posts were the norm…sniff!…Let’s all ask ourselves why this has happened and Git Rid OF IT…grump! …Am I heartless? No. I just don’t like stupidity. I don’t like being around it day after freakin’ day after freakin’ day….grump! …It has to end. Any good ideas? …gruffle!

Advice!…My advice is to Disengage. …Totally disengage…sniff!…Not hard because all there is to engage with is Hillbilly Fluff n’ Stuff. Not much Stuff at all…buh!…Just downers to conversations. Downers to everything. We used to have lively blog discussions and seasons of the year did not matter…grunt!…If you love it you have to fight for it. You have to take a side.

Dear Rio: We probably hit a new low tonight because of the continual posts about John Galt.

I am on the side of Chet the Dog.

I don’t think we need to concern ourselves with the number of posts every day. If we are posting over 100 posts every day, it makes it very hard to keep up.

  27. Kat
    7:21 am on July 3rd, 2016

I am on the same side as Dawson. I have no idea who or what John Galt is, and I have no interest in knowing him. It is subjects like that which make it boring and difficult to want to play catch up on this here blog.
And here I was ready to post a photo of me and my blind date at Barley Mow and Chatty Monks last night. I guess that would be considered mediocrity, so I won’t bother.
